It was rumored that the scenery and brunch were so good, but the scenery was good, but the brunch that paid $ 101 was included. Serving people are very friendly. I complimented him on a blog like that and I went to brunch and I wanted to eat all the bloggers who wrote that it was great.

It's really a beautiful place it sound like a fairytale I went there when was winter time and no the lake was frozen so it was a special and unique View, the only things that I didn't like it it's after 3 hours trip just to see the place they didn't let us get in the park in the hotel because they say all the trail that will close but that was an excuse just because it's allowed just to who make reservation inside yotel because we turn and we went through another Trail and we went to the hotel anyway

Enjoy fine dining, horse back riding, biking, hiking, ice-skating, swimming as well as countless other activities that's fun for everyone. Take a stroll through the beautiful arboretum or just chill out in one of the many rocking chairs that surround the hotel with never ending vistas that are guaranteed to take your breath away. Mohonk Mountain House is a private getaway- a bit pricy but well worth it. Beautiful views, hiking trails- and good food! They did a good job with keeping people safe with the COVID- they also have a nice golf corse. Their spa is rated one of the top in the country- nice spot for weekend or day trip.

This is a great get away destination! We came up from Maryland with a group of five and everyone in the group had a superb experience. The spa is top notch and the swimming pools underwater music was memorable. Our group loved the spa services- and we would rank these 7 as superb: muscle rescue, reiki, moisture drench facial, ginger massage treatment, craniosacral, stone serenity massage, youth infusion facial. I had been here before and always liked the food but this time it was clearly fine dining. As a person with food allergies it was easy to spot which foods I was able choose from. Runaldo, who oversaw the dining experience, made sure that our stay was unparalleled and even catered to our 4yo grandson who he overheard asking for waffles at dinner time. Loved the ice skating also. Kudos to the Mohonk team for making this such a special experience.

We paid the extra amount to have a fireplace and a nice view. Our view was the parking lot, not what we paid for. The fireplace smoked us out, and the wood would not light. Definitely not worth the price. My husband and I spent quite a bit at the spa. He had an OK massage where mine was terrible. Was very rushed, I did not get the full amount of time I booked and the woman use latex gloves. Awful experience. Would not go here again.

This is a very cool and unique place to stay but there are negatives that you don t see online. This is our third day out of the five here and we are already making plans to find another hotel. We were happy to begin with but as we started to enjoy some activities we ran into multiple issues.

They will not let you have anything on the beach except water. They made us leave our smoothies that we just bought (not included) at the top of the stairs. No snacks for your kids or yourself. They also have life guards that are Wissle happy. They blow their wissle for every little thing to where you feel like your being watched the whole time. Really made a difference for enjoying a relaxing beach.

Tennis courts were supposed to be open and just because the pro shop didn t want to groom them again before the end of the day they would not let us play.

When you try to discuss why, they give you sass and don t really have anything to make up for it.

Another thing we were shocked at is the amount of people. This feels more like a summer camp than a resort. Especially for the amount of money you spend each night.

There are some positives to this place like the location and some of the staff is very nice and interesting to have a conversation with but based off the negatives I would not recommend staying here.

You wake up to clean air, enjoy great food, the staff is super friendly and will help you with anything. There are no TVs but it doesn't matter because should you choose to explore the activities are endless. If you want to do nothing there are rocking chairs on the porches where you can take in the views and reconnect with yourself.

Mohonk Mountain House is great for hiking, dining, and staying the night. My party hiked the area to the top of the lookout tower. It's a great hike, but parking for the day is $26. If you want a very intense climb try the Labyrinth. It includes tight squeezes, intense climbs, and steep walks.

Beautiful as always but if you're not staying in the hotel, you have to park at the bottom of the mountain and had to hike a long way up. Especially hard on my older grandmother whom we just wanted to show around the lake and views around the lodge. It was difficult on her and unfair for older people and other people with disabilities who just want to see the grounds. The other aspects of the area are not convenient, as poorly marked trailheads and a lack of hospitality towards those with only a day pass.

Community Day was a chance to visit. For us, an affordable day out. Lunch at the Carriage Room was acceptable, albeit a bit pricey for a cold sandwich that shoukd have been hot. Soup was great, too bad no crackers or bread was offered. All in all, the view trumped all!

We didn't stay at the resort, but this place has fantastic hiking opportunities & breathtaking views. We went here for a day hike, payed an entrance fee of around $22/ person (I believe) and parked in the visitors parking lot. Hiked up a ways to the resort and enjoyed the beautiful views of the place. The water was gorgeous & there are a ton of places to sit back, relax and have a picnic. Loved all of the benches and overlooks. Hiked to the stone tower where there are incredible vistas. The lemon squeeze & cave/rock hiking opportunities were so much fun. The gardens here are really stunning, very thought out & enjoyable to walk through. I loved the plant combinations and walking under the arbor through the garden was a relaxing way to end our hiking adventure. Overall, such a beautiful place, we will definitely be back!

If Julia Morgan had designed Hogwarts, that would be the Mohonk Mountain House. It is a unique and wonderful grand hotel, on the shore of a beautiful lake. Walk around the amazing grounds, and run across little wooden benches nestled into the slide of cliff; gazebos and lookout towers; a bald eagle sitting on the top of a tree watching you while appearing not to; a castle-like tower at the top of the hill, with an extraordinary view of the hotel and lake. Inside, the rooms are classic old wood, cozy and enjoyable. There are many conference rooms of different sizes and styles for corporate gatherings (which is why I was there). There are lots of activities on the lake during the summer. This is truly a magical hotel!

The Mohonk Mountain House has a long history of exceptional service. It sits secluded in a fairy tale setting atop the Shawngunk ridge and is surrounded by gardens, forests and a picture-perfect lake. It's hard to believe it's just 85 miles from Times Square.

It is very expensive, I've been there only a couple times in my life, but it is sooooooo nice inside, such a nice area surrounding it too, inside there is a spa, pool, billiards room, and a dining hall. If you go and get brunch there you need to get the waffles they are outstanding

Resort was decent. Definitely not worth what they charge. Gift shop people were extremely snotty and unfriendly. Food and beverage people were great, although food was lousy. Activity people were just Ok. Rooms I give a 5 on a 1-10. scenic views are a "10" . As a minority family definitely did not feel welcome. truth be told, probably wasn't race related. By some of the other reviews they just employ rude people. 3 nights family of 5, 2 adults kids 9, 11, 15 cost $4,996. not including alcohol. trip to Mohank? Extremely forgettable.

Had a great time with my family over a long weeken...

Had a great time with my family over a long weekend stay. It s not cheap but it s worth it, both adults and kids enjoyed it very much. We had a connecting rooms setup and had all 3 kids in one room so we can have some peaceful time at the evening.

Kids had good time in their kids club, which offer good variety of fun activity like pony riding, hiking and archery etc. Kids also enjoyed the beach on the lake, there were some newts there they ended up spending lot of time trying to catch (and release) them. Fishing on the lake was another big hit with the kids. With some luck it was pretty easy to get some sunfish. To get trout I guess you need some actual fishing skill.

The tennis lessons were very well run. All of us have some tennis lessons there, Richard, who runs the tennis place, was a wonderful coach. Everyone had quite an improve after couple of lessons.

We really didn t have lot of time to explore surrounding hiking trails, would love to do more if we come back in the future. The rock scrambling trail going up to the sky tower was super fun. You look at the crevices and wonder how are you gonna squeeze through, but somehow you will.

Food at the dining room was also very good, compared to usual hotel buffet. Good variety and high quality stuff.

Great hiking at the resort but not in winter as most interesting trails are closed to hikers even when there is little snow. However, the adjoining Mohonk Preserve had hiking trails open. Enjoyed cross country skiing in the winter when snow was present. Snow shoeing also available. (Skis and snow shoes available for loan to overnight guests. Equipment was in good condition.) Good food. A little pricey but many services included. I've been lucky enough to be there with discounted conference rates. Not sure I would stay otherwise.

There aren't enough glowing things to be said about Mohonk. Service is superb, food is TOO good (constant danger of a ruptured stomach from overeating), stunning grounds, well appointed rooms, delightful atmosphere. It's my favorite place in the world.

This will be one of the most elegant resorts you will ever experience, The staff is the finest I have ever encounter. The grounds and scenic
views will make you forget all your worries for a day or two, but the other rude guests will snap you right back to reality. And if by chance you bite down on a tiny bone in Brazen Duck Ravoli, don't waste your
time complaining. They don't care. Overall, I'd rather go back to Ireland.

What was a beautiful area was poisoned by the disgusting food, rooms and people! although he staff were nice, the resort was a BAD experience and a waste of money. It is not as beautiful as it seems, and the rooms were old with bad heating. It was extremely overpriced, and when I went I had a bad experience dealing with a neighbor who kept blaming me for noise I didn't make. Of course, since they were older, I had to move my room. (Note: they were the only people complaining, their argument was invalid and they were extremely rude to me calling me rude things.) But not only that, I had wasted over $1,000 for TWO NIGHTS. I was better off flying to JAPAN. DON'T waste your money on this crappy resort. Not everything that shined bright in the past still has it's glow.

My wife and I stayed here twice. We had issues the first time this past August but thought that was a one-off negative experience. We had problems this past weekend as well mainly around customer service.

1. The valet process should be reevaluated for people that come and go frequently during their stay. Perhaps a room key to swipe in and out?

2. Some members of the front desk staff could use a class in customer service. They lacked basic people skills, seemed disinterested and made comments to make us feel that we were lesser customers because we stayed at a lower cost room.

3. The process to get your luggage to your room can be improved - this gets frequently overlooked especially if your room isn't ready right away.

In summation: For a resort that screams cozy getaway, a few members of the staff ruined our experience with their unfriendly demeanors and snide comments about our room class ( oh your issues are to be expected, you have the value room ). Thanks to Mary & Kimberly at the front desk, that is our lasting impression of my $685/night room.

The saving grace in this whole situation was the manager Steven and the younger front desk staff members. Steven was an absolute gentleman that went above and beyond to help resolve all of my noise related problems. Kudos to him!

Update: 12/23/19 - I would like to thank the General Manager Barbara for contacting me directly and working through the specific issues my wife and I had during our stay. That personal touch was appreciated and unexpected. I would also like to recognize the staff in the Carriage Lounge Bar and The Surrey restaurant for being friendly, kind and nothing short of exceptional.

My real rating is 3.5 but it doesn't allow me to give it the 1/2. I would say there are a couple downfalls to this place. The spa was good, but I don't see what the big deal is. I definitely think the place is over priced. I also did not like that the walls to the rooms were so thin. I hated the location of my room, but I guess that might be my fault for not booking sooner.

I do have to say breakfast was by far the best part of the location and the milkshakes at the Gift Shop were the bomb. I missed lunch one day and it's pretty sad that you pay that kind of money to stay there yet they tell you to pay for additional lunch because you missed your lunch.

I was not fond of the dinner at all, especially since my steak basically came burnt. The food at the carriage house is really good though (food you pay extra for). I think this place is nice and the people are nice. I think the resort would be best to visit over the summer or winter. I will not be returning though. I think it is way overpriced and i could just buy a plane ticket or a cruise to some island. I also think this place would be nice with a group of people.

I m gonna be terribly honest with you. It s not worth It, you ll have to pay $28/person to go here and then the trail marking isn t clear at all. I wanted to go to lemonsqueeze using this trail so I was following the trail marking but at one point the marking for the lemonsqueeze vanished. The mountain house looks cool and all but I d not pay $28 to see it. The trail isn t like any other hiking place. The roads are well made and pitched but again it s not worth it.

Love this place! I have gone before pre pandemic and during the pandemic. Tickets had to be purchases online in advanced before you arrive. Mask wearing when you are around people. Everyone was good about wearing masks when I passed them on the trails. Did the lemon squeeze and it was not crowded at all. Barely anyone on it, it was also a really hot day so everyone probably stayed home. Parking lot was pretty empty when I arrived and when I left it still wasn't as full as it has been in the past. They do check your temp when you come in fyi.

Have been going there for years. A wonderful place to unwind, reflect and experience a small piece of God's creation of the lake and surrounding mountain views. The hotel is superb giving a warm feeling at home sense.
Disappointed with the main dinning room serving layout for lunch, was much better before with the traditional Mohonk buffet.

Had lunch today at the Granary Barbecue; it was very disappointing. The chicken and bratwurst were under cooked, as were the bbq beans. The dessert selections were not replenished and they ran out of a popular flavor of ice cream. Go for the views, not the food.
