A great place to enjoy some amazing scenery with plenty of activities and lots of food options. Rustic rooms include wifi with many offering wood burning fireplace. A bit on the pricey side but worth it.

I am shocked to see so many 5 star reviews. Maybe it s the time of year that my family visited (winter) so there are not many activities to enjoy, but Mohonk has been less than average all the way around. We paid over $1,000/night for all-included stay which was hardly as advertised. Many of the activities that are included like hiking, basketball courts, billiards (1 table), etc.. don t cost anything anyways. You also have to make reservations for any of the restaurants that are included. We checked in and immediately called to make a reservation for 1 of the restaurants (not the buffet) and it was booked 2 days in advance so we didn t even have a chance to make a reservation. Kind of BS.. the carriage lounge bar (drinks not included) has TERRIBLE service and drinks are insanely expensive.. $10 beer? This isn t a football game. Everything closes down early too. If you want to eat then the food is only open for dinner from 6-8. Not a happy camper here. Much better and more affordable options than this resort.
Beautiful outdoor grounds - lots of guided activities (archery, hiking, meditation etc) - really friendly and knowledgeable staff - the rooms are old fashioned and only mildly spooky - a ghost vibe definitely, but in a good way. Food was great and always on time.
There is nothing else quite like Mohonk on Earth. The most striking thing are the Views around every corner. From the Tower at the top of the Mountain, to the Mountain Houses along the hiking paths, to the Views from various points in the Hotel itself, there is literally a View worthy of a "Post Card" everywhere you go. Expensive to visit, BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY ! ...it is a one-of-a-kind National Treasure !!!!
AWESOME place, amazing hiking trails and row boats. We had a blast. 1st time there and would love to go back again. If you can spend the whole day it's so relaxing and fun.
Walked 10 miles round trip to swim. Found out upon arriving that swimming in the lake was for hotel guests only. Rates for a room are exceptionally expensive.
Exceptionally beautiful. Peacefull, except when super overrun by noisy guests. Take a rowboat out on the lake, walk the endless trails, take in the scenery. The spa is exceptional. One of my favorite places to unwind.
1200 a night for cheap kayaking and a few meals. The menu is limited and the hotel is really old. I've booked a room at the plaza hotel for less. You are in the middle of no where and other than a few spa options it's not worth it. My son was extremely disappointed with the horseback riding and compared it to a pony ride at the carnival. On the other hand the staff are kind. My cleaning lady folded my clothes before we left. Edit we will not be back
I didn't stay overnight at the resort but I went up for the day, getting there was incredibly easy and it's very secluded and private. The views are unreal and the golf course is very well kept. Would recommend anyone of my family and/or friends to go there
haven't been in awhile but i use to go as a child and i absolutely loved it, beautiful scenery, nice rooms, good food. Would love to come back for a getaway
The lemon squeeze hike is one of the most fun hikes I've ever taken in my life. The views with the mountain House and lake in the background create an unreal backdrop
I went to the hotel for lunch with my friend on last Sunday on Aug 2, 2020. my reservation was 1.45 PM. A receptionist, a young white lady, at the front of the restaurant told me our table location is outside, porch in downstairs. I went downstairs and looking for my table. However it was not easy. Her direction was not clear. it took about 30 min to find out I arrived at 2.15 PM. They told me the restaurant will be closed at 2.30 PM. I am very Very unhappy. the receptionist's direction
rustic and grand at the same time. Amazing views with many trails and hikes. loved the kayaking as well. Top class food. We were fortunate to have amazing weather and had a chance to fully enjoy the wild scenery. Highly recommend it. great weekend getaway!
The hiking/rock scrambles are top notch. It s expensive but they let you use the grounds as early as you d like the day of check-in and late in to the afternoon the day you check-out
We had lunch only and enjoyed a few hikes. The entire atmosphere is very relaxing. Staff were helpful from the beginning. Although we weren't overnight guests we were just treated exactly the same. Lunch was fabulous. Not cheap but worth every dollar for us.
Stayed here overnight as part of a team building exercise with my employe. Beautiful grounds, delicious food most courteous staff. Had an absolutely amazing time. Love this place.
Hiked the lemon squeeze and it was beautiful. Well maintained, clean, and not too busy on a week day. Highly recommend and well worth the price. The gardens were spectacular too. Staff members very approachable and willing to assist anyway possible. The restrooms were clean. Beautiful view..
Stayed 3 days. I'd happily come back. All the staff has been very nice. Food is good and abundant. Only did little hikes, pool and stuff around the house and it was plenty. Fireplace in the room was a really nice feature.
I didn't stay as a guest but the enviorent and estate was gorgeous. I hiked the cliff to get to the top of the mountain across from the estate and the view was amazing.
The grounds were magnificent. The place however is insanely expensive for no reason whatsoever. You're Essentially paying to go hiking and it is a HUGE rip off if that's all you want to do. The rooms aren't that nice and they are WAY over priced. I've played way less and had much nicer. I've had better delivery food
Dated, overrated, overpriced, plagued with "surcharge fees" that add to the cost. While the estate is quite impressive and there is plenty of things to do, especially for families/children, it is not a high-end resort. Neither the facilities nor the cuisine are high end. I.e., carpeting smells, selection of wines is very low quality (gave us headaches, half a glass put us out of business for the evening), unless you want to dish out some more $$ for their "finer" selection. Overall not worth its cost. There's plenty of nice hiking/outdoors entertainment to pursue in the area thatwould not require $1,000 for a day.
We did the Granary BBQ lunch at the Mohonk Mountain House which includes all day access to the grounds. At $55 per person, it's pricey, but totally worth it. There b for was great, an all you can eat BBQ buffet on the top of an epic cliff. But the really value is in the access to the grounds, the scenery is simply beautiful. The easy hike to the Skytop Tower and the views from the tower are worth the price of entry alone. Can't wait to go back.
This place is gorgeous with a superb staff and tons of activities to keep you busy during your stay. Whether it's a hike up the mountain, a walk around the lake, a game of tennis, or a dip in the pool this place has it all.
If you like the outdoors and hiking with trails in the woods and hills and you like a lake with canoeing and paddle boats and more and you also like historic old magnificent hotels that border on idyllic then this is your place ! Words and even photos can t do this place justice! Make some time and save up some money to spend a night or two or more and you ll also make it a tradition like countless others.
Mohonk Mountain House is a very beautiful place to go vist as a day trip or as an overnight guest. When we went it was just for the day. We also had lunch there as well. The restaurant was buffet style and well prepared. There are lots of activities that you could do. It's limited for those who are not overnight guest. What we did was a rock scramble. That where you hike but are walking, climbing over rock, going through caves, and climbing ladders. I loved my experience at Mohonk Mountain House and would go back. Next time we would be overnight guest's.
Visited on a rainy day so our outdoor adventures were dampened. Regardless, the property was very interesting, and looks like there's a ton to do outside in good weather. We ate dinner at the buffet. Nice spread, well presented, but felt small (choices) for the space though. There was a dedicated kids section with fun foods and they really enjoyed the desserts as well. Remember tax and gratuity are included with your beverage purchases. No tipping as "employees are well compensated" as it explains in the menus. $9 for a bottle of beer gave me sticker shock.
Mohonk Mountain House is a magical place. Beautiful year-round, it's the perfect destination for a weekend-getaway or a family reunion. The outdoor activities in both Summer and Winter are endless! The dining experience is wonderful. Start your day off with a mega breakfast with savory and sweet delights that will give you enough energy for your hikes on the premises or more intensive mountain biking! Definitely check it out if you're in the NYC area.
One of my favorite places in every season - to enjoy alone, with your family, friends or loved ones. So many activities, a gorgeous setting, great spa and delicious food.
