MJAC, Kuala Lumpur International Airport Review

Went here several times and may be many times in near future. This place is huge with a great wifi connection. But unfortunately, the security staff is not friendly enough.

MEDICAL FACILITY IN KLIA IS EXTREMELY POOR.

Selepas melepasi Imigresen, kami berjalan ke International departure. Sebelum menuju le dewan perlepasan, kami berhenti di surau untuk solat.

Masa kat luar surau, tiba-tiba nampak kerusi sebelah agak kecoh. Staff KLIA & seorang perempuan sedang menenangkan seorang lelaki dalam lingkungan 50-an. So i was watching just to see what actually was going on over there.

Apparently, pakcik tu, was about to travel to Jakarta. But he suddenly couldn t move. Dia perlukan sokongan untuk baring di kerusi. Perempuan tu, cuba membantu, dia bukan isteri pakcik tapi orang yang berhenti solat.

Tiba-tiba terdengar staff KLIA cakap kat pakcik,

Kejap ye encik. Saya cuba call paramedic. Dah 20 minit ni tapi tak sampai lagi. Paramedic tengah attend kes kat KLIA2.

Oh...
Masa tu all my brain cells tried to connect. Pakcik looked anxious. I watched how he shook his foot and hand rapidly, but just right side. Left side was totally not moving at all. Looked like he s having a stroke.

I walked towards him, trying to examine to be sure. He was trying to talk, but his speech was slurred and hardly understood. And his face was asymmetrical. While they re trying to understand his speech, i called emergency.

Takkanlah nak tunggu paramedic yang tak tahu bila akan sampai. 1 je team paramedic nak cover sampai KLIA2? I cannot brain that. While trying to get into the line with the operator, those around the pakcik cuba membantu. Diorang capai secawan kopi panas di kerusi paling hujung, kepunyaan pakcik. Rupanya pakcik tu mintak air!

I immediately stopped them.
Maaf pakcik. Pakcik tak boleh makan atau minum sehingga pemeriksaan doktor di hospital.

Read : Patient with suspected stroke, is NOT allowed to be given any food or drinks. They may aspirate. (Makanan atau minuman berisiko untuk masuk ke paru-paru)

After finished giving information to the emergency on line, paramedic pun sampai and bawak pakcik ke hospital.

What s the lesson learnt here?
1. Kalau ada orang sakit kat airport, orang lain sila jangan sakit sebab paramedic ada 1 je
#KLIA this is illogical. Please improve.

2. Basic medical knowledge needs to be introduced in Malaysia. People come to help, but they may not know what may harm the patient.

I hope this won t have to happen to a VIP first for KLIA to improve.

The airport is clean and filled with shops, which is nice. But it's immigration lines are really long so I don't recommend going here in holiday season. Also, there are too little free Wi-Fi areas which makes foreigners who don't have Malaysian SIM card hard to get internet connection. Overall, it is a good airport.

One of the best airport in the world. Modern and well connectted with city centre.

A nice airport. Impressed on how low cost terminal has grown this big in Malaysia. Staffs are friendly. Various shop lots operation. Clean toilets. A fully satisfied guest I am. Well done, please sustain and improve even more.

It's an easy airport to get through, and if you're in the correct wing (the C gates), there are nice shopping and dining options. On the other hand, if you're at the H gates, options are pretty sparse, and it's basically a lot of sitting around. Other than that, it's a nice, modern airport with all the expected features.

This airport is thoroughly disappointing.

The carpet at the arrival immigration appeared so unkempt.

The air-conditioning was not working on the MAS Golden Lounge at the main terminal.

There were no usherers at the arrival immigration resulting in the Asean counter being used by all nationalities.

Wake up management of KLIA or Malaysian Airport.

Airport is very clean and we'll structured for the ease of passengers. Have many food stalls and shopping places.

System down... couldn t imagine it happen to KLIA.. everything is manual for now

KLIA Main Terminal is definitely looking tired now. Arrivals process is laborious, through a dark Immigration area (with a long queue almost always) into a dingy baggage claim area. Then prepare to run the gauntlet of taxi hawkers. Toilets are filthy. Car rental area is in an even dirtier forgotten part of a car park, well away from the terminal. Horrendous and frightening journey for single females to negotiate to. At least LCCT has Car rental booths actually in the terminal at arrivals.

Good airport, architecture is interesting. Toilets are disgusting, but satellite terminal has lots of shopping and food.

Well maintained airport and noticed 2 abandoned planes were in the domestic departure/arriving area for a long period of time, wondering how much is the parking charges ...

Once checked in, you are not allowed to buy water bottle. No canteen nearby and poor services by the airport authorities. Large airport but worst

Big n modern airport...full of facilities , unic design

It's a beautiful airport but you need to walk Alot from arrival Hall to exit.Its pretty hectic

Beautiful international airport, modern and well designed. The staff members are friendly and helpful to inform you of the flight schedules and things to do. The shopping experience is great and perfect for the time being over there. You can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in different places to choose from and enjoy your stay. I really recommend this place to visit and enjoy the beautiful place.

A Great Budget Airport. Good infrastructure and nice people. Expect Long Queue, especially for KLIA2.

Not too crowded during this pandemic time but have to comply with very stricts regulation.

Very big airport, if you are on transit, make sure you have enough time to reach your next gate.

Good airport and very systematic. Apart from that other services like availability of commodities are good.

Very harsh, and unkind "auntie" cleaner. Shouting at foreign passengers and ask them to not sleep in the prayer room. No one sleeps in the prayer room. People coming in to pray and sit. She threatened to complain to higher management. Passengers are not scared. You are supposed to feel scared because you are just a cleaner and anytime we can fire you from your job. No respect for you. You guys have a very bad service. Please send this cleaner to school and learn how to respect customers. Only the police staff who check the bags are good.

This airport is so big. The immigration is in the different area. You need to go to the immigration before take your luggage.

Many poor and misleading signs all around the airport, very confusing and foolishly complicated public taxi terminals, dirty and old bathrooms, poorly maintained lifts (so many buttons in the lifts are even missing!), and lastly I can't believe that things never changed for the past decades.

Note: please drop the "International" and name this very poorly managed airport KLA instead, as it's such an embarrassment for this country.

Unbelievable slow emigration. Waiting now 45 minutes! This is mot acceptable!!!!

Security Control on international airport is a Bad Joke. Bags are scanned with everything inside (Laptops, liquids etc.) and you dont need to empty your pockets. When body scanner beeps a Warning, nobody cares. Only 2 security People Were Sitting behind the bag Scanner. I dont feel Safe with so careless Stuff.

On top the Customs duty is unfriendly as hell. They work without saying Any word. They seem to Love their Job and People, Irony off.

One of the slowest immigration service ever. And then our train to terminal C failed in the middle of the route. Wasted 15-20 more minutes slowly moving to the next stop overtaking by the second train few times. Queues in the toilets, smell is disgusting.

To be brutally honest, Malaysia's premier airport and gateway to the world is getting a bit dated. Just a bit. But its no longer the cutting edge hands down best airport in the region. Don't get me wrong, its still one of the best airports in the world, based on cleanliness, ease of navigation, full menu of passenger services, friendliness of staff and many more attributes. It does have a honest to goodness rain forest within the airport satellite terminal.

Shopping is really good here especially in the international terminal. The staff are generally friendly and congenial.

I love this airport because its main terminal is one of the oldest terminal in all Malaysian Airport Authority.

it's huge. You will have to arrive for the full 2 hours earlier to actually get to your gate. It serves all the low cost carriers flying into Malaysia. The main terminal is adjacent and connected to a shopping mall and the express rail service to the city. It will take you a bit of walking to get to your gate as the terminal sprawls across 3 massive piers. Be aware of the signs so you dont get lost. There may be some upgrading work in progress to fix minor issues.

This airport is a cluster that lacks signage. Trains between Gates breakdown and no information on getting from KLIA2 to KLIA1. They say follow the signs to transfer bus, but the signs end well before the actual stall you need.

KLIA had to be one of the worst airports I've ever flown from. It looks nice, but there system is so flawed. Had to wait at immigration for 90 mins for a departing flight! There were at least 20 people who were going to miss there flights if the workers didn't make announcements and come pull them out of there lines. Our flight was delayed by 45 mins due to such people.

I didn't visit it since June 2012. At that time it was one of the most beautiful, the most organized and the most clean airports that I ever seen. Malaysian People were pretty helpful and so cool.

Good intertional airport it is really huge... clean and well organized.

All the shops were closed. It's hard to find food & drinks once you checked in inside.

The airport was neat and clean staff was good and it was well indicated.

Airport is very good quality but services from working people are very low quality, i have been few times here but this time it was very unpleasant experience. other than this is a very nice airport with hundred of shops and relaxing places. you can try foods, you can charge your mobiles & always wifi is free too

Due to the pandemic, it kind of gloomy. Let us pray that things will get better.

Best Airport in Asia. So Many Facilities are available like Charging Phones, Toilets,Food Courts etc. So clean.

What an airport. Very neat and clean. Lots of connectivity. Once you have connecting flights then you will have to catch train in between.

International standards are missing. By chance do not enter a washrooms -worst maintained. Not appealing.

Transit desk in disarray; food court littered with dirty, disgusting restaurants.

Overall it's ok. The only drawback is the immigration checkpoint queue for foreigners .. which can become a nightmare.. waiting for up to 2 hours in the queue is very common.

The most efficient airport I've been in. Clear, simple and color coded inductions/directions everywhere.

Well structured airport. But it's time to renew its look to compete with other overseas airports.

Be careful of scam taxi. Maybe better get coupon taxi, pay in advance, than metered one. I went to a metered taxi counter inside, and someone came there to lead me to the taxi. It was 80 something when I was close, but when he stopped it was more than 250. Ridiculous price. And he said it is "midnight" for night charge while it was only 10pm. I was somewhat frozen in the moment to argue and I ended up giving him all I had in my purse.

I think the airport can do something to enhance the security of taxi service linked to the counter inside.

Customs were very rude. Those customs checks passport were playing mobile game before we hand over our passports, as we interrupted him, he wasn't happy at all, very unfriendly during the process.
Next, custom check X ray "push" me back to the machine as alert went on, instead of asking me to walk again, he just pushed me back, I was traveling with family, 4 and 8 years old kids, there is no need to use force and no communication.

World Class Airport with world class impressive construction. Take note your departure gate ( most of them ) you need to take train to another terminal .If you first timer you may find difficult to get the informations and understanding the sign boards .

There are lot of duty free shops and Souvenir shops you can walk around .Food price are quiet ok and reasonable .

KLIA2 ( Budget) Shuttle services are available from Arrival terminal .If you are transit to KLIA2 for another flight, bear in mind to spend 10 -30 min for that although its 2-3 km away from KLIA

The airport facilities are ok level but the problem is immigration.
One of the worst immigration gate & officers in the world.
Super slow and super arrogant behavior.

They should introduce automatic gate instead so that we don't need to face to these people.
You can also reduce meaningless labor cost :)

Not feeling bored while transit, they also have amazing and great prayer rooms

No rules or regulations people jump queues no sense of control or directions looks like a herd of sheep

friendly and helpful staff. never have any bad xperience with immigration everytime i fly from here. easy n fast public transport to get into the heart of the city e.g. klia express and buses. average price for the food and drinks. a clean and spacious airport indeed.

Just landed at KLIA ... a little bit delay though.... sory to our fren Mr. Patrick Chang... has been waiting for more than 2 hrs for us...

Awful airport. Especially the arrival area. If I could give it 0 stars I would. You wait far far too long for pick up as cars are allowed to park and block the area indefinitely and 'security' guards blow whistles at cars without doing anything concrete like moving them on. A security hazard and an irritation for anyone trying to be picked up. Worse in terms of security are the scanners after passport control at departures where I have yet to see one member of staff properly looking at the screens and not on their phones. It's scary!! Ive lived here for nearly 3 years and never feel secure at this airport! I won't even start describing the toilets...
