A well maintained Airport with hot & cold water available nearby Toilets.
had a really bad experience here. bought a burger king, took 15 minutes (only one person in the line), even without a bag for take out. there is an extra security check right in front of the boarding gate, had to drop off the drink just bought... the boarding time was one hour before take off, had to wait in another small room before boarding, so weird
Well organized airport. Friendly staff. Has nicely built waiting areas. The airport has sign board with sufficient information.
Transport facilities from the airport to Kuala Lumpur city is excellent.
The airport has many Muslim pray rooms.
Sharing the things that I didn't like for the domestic departures at KLIA1:
1. A.C. is very cold at a lot of places and there is no way to have the temperature decreased. I asked the available staff and they were helpless too and also couldn't direct me to anyone who can help.
2. Announcements tend to be very loud and frequent.
Other general info:
1. Check in staff for Malaysia airlines emohasizes that there are no laptops or other electronic items in the checked luggage so better to avoid putting the same in checked luggage.
Malaysia premier central airport is that - airport with lots of quirks that could either be amusing or downright annoying. Past the first security checks, on the departure lounge, are littered with shops and establishments to cater for your hunger and thirst, however the seating in the departure waiting room could be better as it wasn't ergonomic enough. A cushion and higher backrest would do wonders for the passengers. Current seats looked like they taken it from the bus stop (it was uncomfortable). Apart from this, it is the typical airport
Airport really Huge. Internally they use little metro for passengers to reach immigration counters.
Beautiful airport in sepang, kuala lumpur.. airport staff is very helpful and supportive.. all the facilities are well managed by airport authorities. I had 16 hrs stopover in kuala lumpur airport, I stayed at airport lounge With priority pass. I had spent great time at airport.
New, modern, big and spacious tetminal klia2 for airasia flights. It's very convenient to get to KL Central by train KL express. Takes only 28 minutes.
Now,There are fewer people and many stores are closed by covid19. It is very lonely. At the forefront, the Ministry of Health and military personnel are working hard. Thank you for their work.
Air Asia sucks, do not fly this airline and don't go through this airport. Rather fly anther airline. The bathrooms are horrible and service is bad as well. I did enjoy however the free WiFi. Every 30 seconds, the stupid lady would say happy journey.
Admittedly I slept on the chairs most times I passed through here, but it is a lovely airport and food is plentiful when you are hungover. I don't know why you'd review an airport but apparently you can, even though there is nowhere else to fly into I suppose its in hopes that someone is listening at the airport for bad stuff
I bet they are not.
Cheers.
Very fast secure check with almost no hassle.
Every one seems to speak good English and very kind and helpful.
You can use grab without any problem.
Just make sure you go to the 2nd level to be picked up.
They also have a lot of stores from famous brands.
Good places to eat for a fair price.
Was easy to access
NO delays and although an old airport it is up to date with technology .Plenty of food outlets including KFC.
No plugs available. Staff were lazy and didnt want to help. If you are not white they dont respect you. Elle cafe staff is the worse. No customer and I was waiting for a friend, the staff gave attitude and told me to go. What?
Thank you, the Police Security checking the entrance for corona virus for all passengers ...atleast all safe ....using modern scanner to detect....(intra red)....my destination to Alor Setar ..
I have been here more than twice. The place is good, there's have help desk and so kind
New wrapping company "seal n go" really blood sucking. Rm30 per bag for wrapping? Old one much better. Rm10 per bag with good wrapping and fast service. KLIA should look into this.
The design is still ok. Enough facilities. But can't beat Singapore Changi Airport.
Immigration is a disaster. 1 hour to clear the passport queue. Very bad travel experience.
I have used this airport several times. Their light railway transit (LRT) was fun. It's well organized and has lots of food shop.
MCO time.. not much to do.. but flight arrangement are perfects...
This is no doubt one of the cleanest airports that I have visited in recent times. This is the Air Asia hub for connecting flights and you still mostly get seamless guidance even during busy hours. The food joints are pretty decent and Duty Free offers were good. Do not miss the Dior and Chanel special offers running almost throughout the year.
Note: For layovers ,do head to the airport hotel pods inside the international terminal and enjoy the comfort. It is on the expensive side , but the experience is really good.
Not as grand as KLIA2 but still has the neatnes n cleanlines
Looks nice, has big duty free shop. But too cold, and the tolite small as well.
Good. However, the pickup area is poorly designed, causing traffic chaos.
Nice but need to be early as the departure platform is really far away
KLA in the early hours of the morning feels like a giant amusement park with hardly any patrons. As it's the case at most airports at this time of the morning you will find tired travellers sleeping on the best seats. But unlike other airports KLA is mostly a giant glass house allowing travellers to see it parked aircrafts and sprawling tarmac. At SYD travellers can buy things, go to their gate, relax and suck up the electricity juice while they wait for checking in. But in KLA the gates are behind secured screen glass doors, which are only opened 40mins before departure time. This means that travellers are forced to wonder around many KLA's shops and be tempted to buy something. There are only one power charging station at Gate 15, which is 2 USB and 2 electrical sockets. I see a lot of travellers not looking very happy here. Although, they do get KLA's free WiFi.
The air port is clean, beautiful and scenetic view, easy to find directions. Staffs are friendly. There is a small and natural garden in the middle of air port.
Very well developed. All amenities are easily available. Emmigration counters are very well organised and efficient. Connectivity through metro and public bus transit is excellent. Getting a Taxi or a self drive car is also very easy. Travel guide maps are available at all sorts of travel related counters.
Very clean airport. ALL THE GROUND STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL AND COOPERATIVE
For all its modernity and how it seems like its the best airport in South East Asia, the 2+ hours of wait time we had to go through immigration certainly did not reflect its claimed status. For the first hour there were only 3 staff that served the whole line with more and more tourists coming they then decided to take action and add more staff to ease the lines. All in all expect extremely long lines in immigration!
A fabulously sprawling airport. Time to get lost with lot of things to do. Shops are many here.
It's great, Got lots to do while waiting on flights. Even have a hotel now as well.
bad experience.. those one star comments below and bad reviews are true. just read them
New airport with many facilities for low budget airlines. Love this airport.
Amazing airport. We were stranded here for 12 hours and it was actually a decent experience. Quite a few lounges to choose from. Choice of food is insane. The Popeye's here is so good I ate there twice! Best fries I've probably ever had.
International Airport that gives the vibe of a domestic airport and for the first time in my life I have experience first hand that you cannot take water into the boarding gate. How smart is this country...
This airport has 2 terminals KLIA and KLIA2. We have been to second terminal. This terminal is maintained well. First one serves international flights and the second one for domestic and Air Asia International flights.Airport is maintained well. There is food court but not many options. Duty free shops are good in number. Our Air Asia departure was through Gate Q. Worst part is all the facilities like Food Court, Lounge etc are outside this gate and you need to rush through as there is security check at Gate Q. They should have had it before entering the gate while doing luggage scans. Both the terminals are well connected via KL Express/Transit trains or you can also walk as there are proper directions. There are escalators almost most part of the airport which makes it easy to reach the point with your luggage. Free porter service is good thing they are doing.
It's a beautiful airport, comfortable and full of surprise.....
If only I can rate the whole country, bad service attitude, bad government, not on the par manners, unsafe environment, unhealthy food, please avoid this country if you can.
Arrived to the air port after 20 hours of travel. Bags didn't show up for 1 hour. Absolutely ridiculous, they said technical difficulties. Hundreds of people waiting around at midnight.... First time to Malesia very disappointing so far.
One of the best aiports in the world! Restuarants and Shopping is amazing on Arrival and Departure!
Very nice and huge. Quite a long walk for low-cost airlines to the main custom checks. The city train is really convenience for city access!
Great for shopping and dining!
The airport is very huge and fancy. But facilities is not better than low cost carrier KLIA 2. For me the vibes is a bit cold and not welcoming here in KLIA but overall the imigration and process to board is so convinient not so long and far like KLIA 2
It is a decent airport but not porch like Singapore.
The International airport is large, clean (too clinical) and ultra modern. Some gates are served by the efficient, rapid and frequent aerotrain. A number of restaurants, cafes and shops (international) serve the passengers. Very long queues for the restrooms (spotlessly clean) and queuing etiquette is flaunted by the locals. Both squat and western toilets (tissues will come in handy!). International in scale and facilities but somehow lacking in ambience
Busy but sometimes staff not well trained. Overall acceptable
Smart system, well maintained and spotless airports.
You can enjoy your time here for shopping, chilling in cafe's or sight seeing while transits.
Usually quite empty and quiet here. It is rarely crowded. Lots of shopping at satellite building.
A huge, super clean and excellent ambience. Have 37 gates for boarding flights. Weather is good at this moment with beautiful views.
Yesterday i took a taxi from the taxi counter klia2 to KL city centre. I was surprised the front windscreen of the taxi has a long crack across.
Taxi number HWD 9835
Horrible airport avoid if you can!!
Waited for MORE THAN 3 HOURS for the immigration control.. first time that happens to me and I've visited many other busier airports! and this is an international airport simply ridiculous to be standing for such a long time!! The flight was shorter unbelievable! No organisation, not enough staff..
merry Christmas to all this is set up for me Christmas gift for not flying back to manila..frm the bigging i know already to all people in Malaysia hope satisfied for what do done.how feel if only with two kids same more don't have enough money..im only one to do everything people here just taru put apa apa inside my house
to monitor me detect me,WHAT I AM NOT CREMINAL TO TREAT LIKE THIS
One of the best airports I have been to. Huge and well planned. With a bunch of shopping opportunity with fun.
Very nice airport with friendly and welcoming staff and good choice of shops. The signage could be a bit more user-friendly and the security checks could be done once only instead of having to go through the procedure twice for some reason. Overall, I flew from this airport twice and I had positive experiences.
we had more than 3.5 hours to transfer to another flight from a different airline and barely made it.
1.5 hours walking and standing in line for the immigration stamp! On the 10 luggage belts our flight was not displayed anymore but we luckily found it by accident.
It was pretty difficult to find out that there is an airport train to bring us to the other terminal. But which one and where? You need local currency or credit card to buy a ticket for going to the other terminal! How stupid! We were able to pay it and had to wait 15 minutes for the 3 minutes ride. Checkin our luggage, security check, migration process & ride another train!
we arrived just in time for boarding. the plane left the dock on schedule, but it was standing on the runway for 1 whole hour, so we arrived very late.
Signs on the airport are very confusing.
But we did never get lost for more than a minute. we had good luck finding everything.
There was no time to eat or drink something.
Hundreds of super-fancy dutyfree shops we had to walk by, but that's not what we came for.
Please mange international charging mobile port
Very hard to charge mobile
Not enough mobile charging point
Large, spacious and modern airport with all the amenities you could need. Found it to be very confusing though when alighting from my plane and locating my luggage, they need to improve the signage somehow.
Well maintained while operated good management or facilities.easy to access informations Countess available.. arrow train easy access to change building. Free wifi access for 30 hours. . Starbucks Burger King duty free shops. is available for food and drink and snacks
Taxi desks charge around 120 RM to KLCC and a ticket is required from this desk to get a taxi from the official rank at the airport. However if you go out of the terminal there are some freelancers who'll negotiate a lower price and take you to one of the taxis they work ith...I paid 90 RM...still an official taxi but I guess the commission the freelancer demand from the taxi driver is less than the taxi desk. Journey takes a good hour to get to KLCC from the LCC Terminal
I had a stop off last year (2016) on my way to Australia the airport was very clean and tidy what let it down was the toilets, I spent at least an hour looking for one that was clean ish
There is no facility to drink water/fill water bottles once you are sitting outside the boarding gate. This becomes a major drawback when any flight gets delayed.
Review for KLIA2: this airport is really for low budget person. Good choice of stores and foods on departure / arrival hall. But bad design on boarding area.
Very good airport have two terminal's & you can get the train between the two terminals free of charge also you can use the public fast train station form first floor at terminal 1 to kuala Lumpur central station
It's convenient with the airport taxi, can go to kl city fast and easily
Trains run from here to KL on a regular basis.
Easiest way to town and much more reliable than the motorway
If you are making a dash tp KL this is the only way to ensure you wont miss your ongoing flight
