It was my first time going to the Minnesota Zoo. My son, his wife and my PCA went, we spent 6 hours there and didn't see all of it. I want to go back again. It was so cool to be able to pet a Leopard Shark. They felt like a piece of velveteen.
It was nice to be able to have a picnic table and have shade to have a great picnic.

We went to Adult Night, it was a great idea! Love this, got to see the zoo without any children! The only issue I noticed was the lack of staff, there were a lot of people drinking and no one working there was making sure that the animals were safe. I hope this promotion continues and I hope they find a way to make sure the animals are protected.

Sooo many animals to see! All kinds and all kinds of habitats. They even have a butterfly garden for a few months out of the year! An amazing food court. And IMAX theater to watch some really cool movies on. A trolly for those who may have hard time walking. Gift shopd with beautiful things. RECCOMEND it for all ages! So much fun!

I was a volunteer and a member at the MN zoo estuary until I witnessed the mistreatment to the sharks and rays on display for educational purposes. It was cruelty to these creatures (including star fish) to be kept in a shallow tank for the purpose of being prodded and poked by zoo visitors. It was also a well known fact among the volunteers and staff that children fell into the tank on a daily basis. I witnessed this first hand when parents weren t watching or having control over their child. It was all a big joke and everyone had a good laugh at the expense of the child and creatures in the tank. Staff at the main desk keep towels just for this purpose so they know of the danger/issue.

I wasn t there long when I witnessed a young girl put her hand in the estuary water and saw the chemical from her skin spread out a three foot radius film on top of the water. Yes the zoo will tell you the tank is built to continuously filter the water, but how much of the sunscreen is ingested by these creatures before it gets to the filters? Oxybenzone and octinoxate, chemicals found in many common sunscreen products, are known to kill coral and marine life. Hawaii is now proposing a ban on all sun screen products to take effect in 2021.

Thousands of visitors come to the zoo on a weekly basis and thousands of adults and children have put their hands in the tank after eating and lathering on a coat of sunscreen. Food is actually sold within ten feet of the tank.

To watch rays suction themselves to the plexiglass panels on a continuous basis just similar to a tiger pacing back and forth in a cage is cruelty. Staff told me that s where they get fed.

For an institution that is funded to preserve animals in a humane environment, they get zero stars from me. I ve never been back since.

Great plsace to go with the children! If you're not a member, plan for a whole day here and prepare to spend money. The zoo is humungous and lots to see. Sea area, tropics, big cats, bears, forest, plains, special events of animals from elsewhere (kangaroos, llamas), monkeys, farm animals. If you plan to purchase food here, be ready to be spendy. Prices are high but the food is good! If you're a member, a great way to visit at different times and focus on specific locations with the kids and enjoy the scenery along the way. Love the different annual summer specials they show of animals!

We bought the season pass for the family and I regret it. We havent been for 2 years until this year and it feels like it's going down hill. The train is now closed also. The entry way is congested and it just isnt that impressive anymore. If you're looking for a day trip to entertain the kids, just go to Como Zoo, free admission and more for the kids to do.

Awesome zoo! Okay to bring food and drinks in. Lots of room to eat inside and out. Coffee shops have caribou coffee and a got a 16oz for $5 so it was about what I d expect to pay. Volunteers and staff are helpful and welcoming. Exhibits have easy to read info and are well laid out so you can see animals up close. Great for families or group trips. Website has a map and schedule to help plan your trip. It s $7 per car to park. You can prepay for parking and admission online. Adults are $18, kids 3-12 are $12 and seniors are $12. Under 3 are free.

Fun

We love this place! My two year old and I have had a season pass here since he was 6 months. He actually loves the park and slides there better than the animals. It's my favorite "mom Meetup" with my friends too! Price is great, always very clean and well kept grounds. We are lucky to have such a wonderful zoo in MN!

We love the Minnesota Zoo! Winter transforms the zoo grounds into a winter wonderland. Every time we visit the animals seem happy and the enclosures are a great size. They focus on conservation efforts and educating the public. If walking in the snow is not your fancy, you can enjoy Discovery Bay or the Tropics trail. Any of the zoo volunteers will happily answer your questions or give you interesting facts about the animals!

Great zoo! wonderful selection of animals to see in a clean and safe environment for them. If your not a member it is kind of pricey for entry fees $18 per adult, ages 3-12 are $12 and a $7 parking fee. But worth the trip!

I've loved the Minnesota Zoo forever. They do a great job with their conservation and reintroduction programs, and they excel at making the guests care about the animals and what happens to them in the wild. The exhibits are beautiful. This zoo should really be a poster child for how zoos can be run responsibly and be beneficial to the animals in the long run.

We go here almost every weekend. It is a fun place to see different anamials and the kangaroos are fun to go see. If you have kids and go in the summer make sure to pack extra clothes for the splash pad.

This zoo is great. I love having the membership because in the summer the is really more than you can do in a day. In addition to animals, there is a splash pad, carousel, 2 playgrounds, and places to eat (with beer even!!).

Nice place to visit just would have liked to know there was a lot of rehab of animals enclosure best part was the shark feeding even though they weren't to hungry but the stingrays made up for it

A little spendy, but you could bring a picnic lunch to help in that area. Concert tickets can also be expensive, but include park access before the show so if you take advantage it is worth it. Bring a seat cushion, and a poncho if rain is expected.

Overpriced for what we seen. Most of the animals where so far away or hidden in the brush that we couldn't see anything. It was a nice habitat for the animals. The sea life exibet was awesome and the kids enjoyed that. Wouldn't go back again.

Great place for kids. Seems like they designed it with them in mind. Some of the vendors we're closed and it was tough to find food when it got time to eat. A little overpriced but that is to be expected. If you can do it, bring food with you.

We have had a family membership for years and will continue to do so. The Zoo tried to be as accommodating as possible during a very difficult 2020 and all policies were clearly communicated before our visits. I look forward to maintaining our membership for years to come as they continue to provide a great experience and encourage learning for all ages.
