Too much to see. Good for going once a year. Mostly any kinds of food bit deep fried. Some foods from different non-US countries. Lots to do with carnival games, shows, shops, watching animals. Nice place to bring friends from out of town. Too bad you can't bring dogs.

It is most certainly the best fair or festival I have ever attended. The food is superb, highlighting local culture and cuisine. There are also many interesting and informative exhibits on farms, wildlife, pets, and many other interesting topics. We also can't forget the butter sculptures of the princess candidates from around the state. Overall, an amazing fair and very fun destination.

This year was my first in MN and I kept hearing all about how great the State Fair is. I was very impressed by how large the fair was and how many things there are to do! My family went twice and I wish we could have gone more. The food is amazing and everything was well worth the time we spent there. We'll be back every year!

The Great Minnesota Get Together is 12 days of fun, full of eating, drinking, people watching, rides, shopping and more. There's something for everyone. Go early to avoid the biggest crowds. Take a park and ride to avoid some of the traffic and parking hassle. Eat something new, visit old faves, and mingle among the crowds.

Love the state fair...try to go at least twice every year to see everything! Tons of unique and delicious food options (turkey-to-go to deep fried oreos to bacon fluffernutter to deep fried pickles) and good drinks. A fun beer stop is Schells where you can get a blueberry or sangria beer with a frozen topper, nice for a hot day.

While it is busy, the people watching is top notch, and there is free music happening throughout each day. The Grandstand also usually has a few great shows each fair.

The crowds are overwhelming. Hard to see the exhibits around all the people. International Market was impossible to enjoy. Senior Center building with shade and quaint musical groups is replaced by a DNR pond; so we all know all ages are not welcome. Grandstand headliners are underwhelming. We will not be back next year.

Went to the hip hop festival, despite the nausiating smell of all the pot (lol)- the fairgrounds was a great place for this event! No problems, no issues, had water and misting stations, it was HOT for a memorial day event. Security was fine and within reach if needed.

From scrapbooking to running into politicians this is the great Minnesota get together! This is the biggest event every year and it works because everyone and there work and hobbies have a space at the fair. The fair apparently drew 2 million people this year! Impressive. I am getting more and more stressed every year with the density of people. It's really inaccessible for people with physical and mental disabilities. I've seen folks trapped in crowds of other fairgoers who are completely unaware of their surroundings and not letting people in wheelchairs or scooters get by.

We were on vacation and wanted to visit the fair! We were here for hours eating and enjoying the live shows. There were at least 100,000 people in attendance. It was an enjoyable experience. The food was awesome.

What can I say, it's the state fair. As always the prices seem to continuously go up if not sky rocket from year to year. However the vendors seem to continue to offer up new and intresting foods, albeit most are far from healthy but what the hell it's the fair. The only place and time where we as Minnesotians can kick up our heels and throw caution to the wind along with our budgets and have some fun.

The best time of the year is State Fair season! The food has classics like Sweet Martha s but also new food every year like Nordic Waffles. The fair started on celebrating agricultural though! Spend time soaking in the fair s roots by going through the animal barns and the agriculture/horticulture building. Don t miss the seed art!!

Who doesn't love to go to the fair? They have anything you could imagine "on a stick". From steak, to pork chops, to even fried candy bars. There are all kinds of shops for souvenirs and fun things for the kiddos. All kinds of barn yard animals like pigs, cows, horses, foul, and goats. The baby pigs are my favorite!! Live music is always going on and don't forget to go down the huge slide.

Always a treat! So much fun with tons to see and do, a great spot to go on a food adventure although definitely very pricey. I recommend hunting for coupon books, or else making a game plan of everything you want to try otherwise I say bring $100 and you should be able to try all of the iconic things and then some!

Love the State Fair. Lots to see from Fine Arts to Animals. Great place to watch people. My favorite time to visit is on a weekday starting in the a.m. Had to do Friday this year... gets very busy, but that is just part of the fair! Lots of great food choices from fried to fresh. For the one day a year I visit the fair, I'm up for a few indulgences! Here's to another 100 years!

It's the great Minnesota get together! Every year I find something new and yet I still have a small but ever growing list of favorites to visit year after year. There's no better place to settle the debate on pronto pup vs. corn dog!

Perfect weather, good food...
Yes it was crowded (I was warned and it's well known that it will be). I wish there were more (healthy with sustenance) toddler friendly snacks and food. Otherwise, plan accordingly, my son napped before hand, we packed food for him and change of clothes, sweater etc.... so much fun! Can't wait for my boy to be big enough for rides!

Had a fun time with the family. Food and animals for my kiddo to pet and look at. Also a literal overflowing bucket of cookies along with unlimited cups of milk for $4 is a match that can't be beat!

The Minnesota 4H has a program called Arts In. It is a 22 day experience that starts with a prep week and then one day before the Fair starts and performances are 3 - 4 times a day until Labor Day. This half hour musical is filled with very talented young people from 9th grade until the end of their 4H, which can be one year after high school. I'm biased because my Great Nephew was one of the performers but the experience is 2nd to none. The State Fair is great also!

The prices are outrageous! The alligator dish cost $12 for 9 mini tater tots and about 7 finger nail size peices of alligator meat. I was appalled at the prices! The state fair used to be a place where a family could go and enjoy the state's goodness... now it's ONLY for those who have money to waste! Not worth my time

A must for any minnesotans. Yes it's crowded and yes the barns smell (duh. It's a barn). The food is always amazing and the new concoctions are worth at least glancing at every year. (You walk off those extra calories anyway). This is the place to people watch if you're into that. You could spend days and make a sport out if it. The carnival rides are fun for the kiddos. Sweet Martha's cookies are always a plus.

The fair is a delight. Pro tip from me. Go at night. Shorter lines, no sun beating down on you, and an awesome atmosphere once the sun is down and the lights turn on. Such a cool place. There are few things better than a warm summer night at the fair.

About Minnesota State Fair

Minnesota State Fair: A Celebration of Fun, Food, and Entertainment

The Minnesota State Fair is an annual event that takes place in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It is one of the largest state fairs in the United States and attracts millions of visitors every year. The fair runs for twelve days and ends on Labor Day. It is a celebration of fun, food, and entertainment that has been a tradition for over 160 years.

History

The first Minnesota State Fair was held in 1859 in Minneapolis. At that time, it was called the Territorial Fair because Minnesota was not yet a state. The fair moved to its current location at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Saint Paul in 1885.

Over the years, the fair has grown to become one of the most popular events in Minnesota. It has also become an important part of American culture as it showcases agriculture, industry, arts and crafts.

Attractions

The Minnesota State Fair offers something for everyone with over 500 food vendors serving up delicious treats such as corn dogs, cheese curds and deep-fried everything! There are also hundreds of exhibits showcasing everything from farm animals to fine art.

One popular attraction at the fair is Machinery Hill where visitors can see tractors and other farm equipment on display. Another favorite spot is Kidway where children can enjoy rides like bumper cars or play games to win prizes.

Entertainment

The entertainment lineup at the Minnesota State Fair includes concerts by top performers such as Tim McGraw or Demi Lovato. There are also daily shows featuring acrobats or magicians along with parades throughout each day.

For those who love sports there are competitions like horse racing or lumberjack contests where athletes compete against each other using axes or saws!

Education

In addition to all these attractions there are educational exhibits that teach visitors about agriculture practices such as crop rotation or animal husbandry techniques used by farmers across America today!

Sustainability

Minnesota state fair promotes sustainability through various initiatives like recycling programs which help reduce waste generated during this massive event while promoting environmental awareness among attendees.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you're looking for a fun-filled experience with great food options then look no further than The Great Minnesota Get-Together! With so much to see and do you'll never be bored during your visit here - whether it's watching live performances from top artists or learning about sustainable farming practices through interactive exhibits - there truly is something for everyone at this amazing event!
