Great time, always. Deep fried milkyway is where its at.
Suggestion: simple foods are better than the ones they try to make "fancy"

Fun place to go on a date or with friends or family.
Had the car show. Its was so crowded people where bumping into each other. Not impressed with the layout. Cars were amazing. 2 medium.
Pokemon and plant sales and everything else is great. Can't say I'm a fan of the throngs of people during the State Fair time but the food is worth a visit every few years. Will brave people for delicious snacks.
It`s the " * MINNESOTA STATE FAIR * " what more can I say.. Ready to go back & spend a few days.. So ready..
Come hungry. It's a great place to sample all kinds of food, especially if it's deep fried. It's also great for people-watching.
I've been going to the fair for 55 years since I was 4 months old. It's the best fair ever awesome and unusual foods so many merchandise booths the animal booth and horse show which are free awesome concerts and some are free throught the day. I would never miss it very loyal. They also offer scooters, wheelchairs, wagons and strollers for a deposit and fee.
A very fun place during the fair. I spend multiple days there and I never run out of things to see or do. Great shows and food. Highly recommend to anyone looking for fun!
This state fair is THE BEST STATE FAIR; don't miss it, don't even be late!
This was a huge event we had such a good time walking and looking at all the displays of just everything you could imagine. We had our pictures Made In The Roaring Twenties theme so it's fun to do that when you go to a fair we enjoyed watching the six-horse hitch and seeing an Oklahoma team take the top prize
You gotta go to the statefair every year! It's the best place to get stomach cramps.
It is a must do at least once in your life if not once a year. Tons of food vendors with a variety of any type of food you could want on a stick. Lots of deep fried goodness and goodies galore. For those of you interested in farm animals, there are many sites to visit to see prize winning livestock and critters. Price for entrance without discount is $14 and plan on spending some money to try as much food as you can. Rides are decent, but nothing that I feel would knock your socks off. If you are not a fan of crowds, strollers hitting the back of your feet and people constantly bumping into you, this may not be your cup of tea.
Five stars. Absolutely. There is nothing like it anywhere. The largest state fair by daily attendance anywhere in the country.
If you have been, you don't need my review, you know what I am talking about. If you have never been, go at least once. It is quite the experience.
Let me start with the food options! There are many! Think about anything you would like to eat in the states and it is all here. Alongside you will find amazing rides to enjoy with the kids or even the adults. Some of the rides need a pretty good gut! There are many small shops to buy knick-knacks as well. I am not done yet. They have animal barns too! And live performances! And a full-blown concert stadium. Tickets for which are separate though. But totally worth it. You have to try the cookie with cold milk, bacon, corn cobs, cheese stick and a lot more... Have a great time!
So much to see and do at the fair, of course. Really dig the haunted house.
Way more fun than I remembered, haven't been in years. Saw weird Al, had some beer and food. Good time overall.
Overrated. Overpriced. Not even worth it.
They should have a limit of people allowed in daily. At the VERY least they should have a path in each direction for people to walk instead of everyone walking opposite directions causing severe crowding with no way to possibly get through an also keep track of all of your kids seriously. Not going there ever again.
Sweat, greasy food and people watching paradise! Go have fun! Listen to music, eat the food, look at the animals and ride the rides!
It's the State Fair! The BEST State Fair in the U.S.! (Texas does not have a better fair. If you say so, you are excommunicated from Minnesota.) Don't be all salty and whiny about the crowds, or the price of food. Enjoy seeing and judging your fellow Minnesotans, in all their gluttonous glory! Indulge in YOUR gluttonous glory with all the things on a stick! Don't hate, just go and soak in the glory.
12 funnest days of Summer!! Wahoo. I always go the 1st Friday, before the grounds get so trampled and destroyed. Must see.. Grandstand market, International Village, try the soba noodles with chicken, too much to list. Saw Brandi Carlisle at Leinnie Lodge. Soo fun. Great weather is setting attendance records. BIG shout out to HomeTown Mobility for my scooter rental and HealthEast for shuttle ride from my car to the gate. Too much fun and most of it free. The Great Minnesota Get Together is truly that. Come spend the day with thousands of your friends and neighbors.
The Great Minnesota Get-together! Food, animals, rides, displays, freebies, beer, wine, music. Plenty to do for all members of the family. Did I mention food? If you're a Minnesotan, then you know that the Fair is the symbolic end of summer and the beginning of fall. This is Minnesota's LARGEST music festival: ethnic, country, rock, hip hop and everything in between. Did I mention food?
I don't like all the people, but I still really enjoy the fair.
Great place to visit if you are traveling to MN or passing thru.. Get fat and greasy food yet delicious and fulfilling.
If you never been, you gotta go. If you've gone, you gotta go again. For the most discerning palates, I would recommend the fried twinkies.
"The Great Minnesota Get Together" did not disappoint! The day I was there it ended up setting an attendance record for a Friday at 187,000+, but that didn't take away from the day at all as there is so much to do spread out over an impressive large area. The rides, animals and entertainment was all top notch, but let's be honest - the food is where it's really at. Corn-dogs, cheese curds, beers are staples, but there is wild and amazing other foods like deep fried candy bars, hot-dish on a stick and "chocolate chip cookie beer". As an added bonus I found the prices to be very reasonable.
Awesome fair. First time going. Will go back next year.
pleasure getting a chance to work here every year! truly happy to see how many people it brings even from out of state. the food is always amazing fresh and hot!!
Has become a must do in summer. Travel to MN from Iowa to go with friends to MN state fair
Loved it as always but people need to get off their phones and pay attention to their surroundings. You are at the fair! Enjoy the experience!
Nice representation of traditional fair sights, but I was hoping for more diverse food and beverage selection. Shops are hit or miss, but there is so much to see you won't get bored. Take the bus! Such a relief and very reliable. No day is exactly the same!
Fantastic place. You can spend time with your family and friends. You need at least a couple of days to know all the stands. Enjoy tasting the local beers and the terrific foods!
I enjoy it. Parking is the biggest headache though.....
Although it kind of marks the end of summer but no summer can ever feel complete without visiting the fair.
Every year it seems to get more and more crowded. Goes to show that the fair is important to us. Can be a bit hard to get to where your going so plan out some time to be able to experience the most of it.
I love the State Fair! We had a corn dog instead of a pronto pup and it was not as good. One thing I noticed is there are a lot more places to sit than when I went years ago!
Fair is an amazing "Minnesota get together!" Lovely food, great discounts, and amazing little shops there! Love that they have a variety of shows for the grandstand! (E.g. "Weird Al" Yankovic, Why dont we, Jim Gaffigan) Large fairground that I love!
Always a great time at the great Minnesota get together !
We haven't been home to MN in over three years, so the Fair was a must. Food was great, clean bathrooms, but incredibly rude people! Oh my lord, what happened to Minnesota nice? That sure went out the window..Minnesota, we can do better.
The great Minnesota get together. You really need more than one day to see everything. There is something for everyone including food, drinks, attractions and more. Rides for people from 0-150 years old. Wheelchairs strollers, wagons and electric mobility scooters can be rented.
A great tradition to have with family & friends, some things stay the same, others change from year to year.
Best state fair in the U.S.A. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. Also you must try sweet Martha s cookies they are the best.
We had a lot of fun, but I would recommend taking more than one day to see it if you can. It's huge and there is so much to see. It's also very pricey. Bring your wallet lol.
Best state fair in the country. Enjoy attending every year!
Always a good time at the MN state fair. We start with history on a stick and shells beer at 10am. This year we did kemps helping hands early. The kids just love it. We have diehard twins fans so catching some ball is a must-do... We also visited the 4H building, ABC forest and math corner. Catching the sand pit at night was wonderful because it was less crowded. The kids also enjoy the kidway rides especially in the dark. We ate all the things - pronto pups, cotton candy, mouse trap cheese curds, burrito, dairy barn ice cream, sweet Martha's cookies, nitro coffee and more!
Lastly, riding the bus is our favorite part as parents! No need to fuss about traffic. Ya get there when ya get there and they'll take ya home!
Love the state fair! Great food and drink vendors, along with lots of other things to see and do. My only complaint is that most vendors were cash only, while I prefer to not carry cash. I would love to not need to hit the ATM frequently, but will keep that in mind for next year.
Had a great time with family. We tried a variety of fried food (some on stick), and lots of fun games and other ways to spend money. There were a lot of people the day we went. The butterfly house is a fun way to spend some time too.
Park and ride is your best option if you are going during weekend, but weekday you should be able to find ample parking near by.
This is an awesome experience but come during the week only since the weekend times are a complete whackadoo time to go
I love this place and I can't wait for it to come back yessssss.
Great Minnesota get together ! Lots to see, lots to do. Horticulture building is my fav! Apples, honey, seed Art. Fine Arts also a knock out. And we always try to catch some live music. Bo deans @ the Free Leinie's stage
Almost too crowded, but there's no way to fix that. Food is great and the rides are fun. I didn't see much else, but would recommend as a full weekend adventure.
I've put off going to the fair for years because I'm not big in crowds and stuff. I will say, this was nicely planned out. Lots of bathrooms, plenty of room to roam. Good food with tons of options for all sorts of diets (unless you're avoiding fats - it IS a fair after all). The bizarre was cool. Price to get in seems fair (ha ha.) As most other places, a lot is overpriced, but worth a trip every few years I suppose.
It doesn't get any better... you can't beat the food... the entertainment is top notch.... if you are a state fair goer, this one shouldn't be missed
Great place to tailgate before college football game.
Footlong beef corn dog was the best. Lots of hype. Lots of duplicate restaurants.
The fair is amazing! In the spring there is a fun comic book convention as well!
Nice American tradition. A lot of People and a lot of good food.
Fun, exciting and big fair. Every one in the family will love this place, so many things to do and eat!
Went for the antique show. Awesome, great finds at low prices!
They have changed since I was a young child. But still had great pronto dogs. The giant slide is way smaller and coloured yellow....lol. But still an all around GREAT TIME. :)
Every first Thursday at 6:00 am
20 years straight
It will just be something else next year not to have a fair, not going to count on it .It was a good run but its probably over for good, oh well save a grand
Very fun with tons of things to do. But be ready for a big crowd of people.
It was nice. Really crowded, there was a group of people fighting and the cops showed up. Other than that everything was pricey. $17 dollars for a medium size bucket filled with cookies. $13 for a Turkey leg and I had bigger ones from Oklahoma and it was only $7.
A waffle and a cup of coffee cost $11.00, I feel that this is a little over the top.
My family of of 5 spent over $300.00.
How can a family afford this?
The MN State Fair is amazing. I head to the fair several times each year and it is truly the best 12 days of summer. Food, people watching, music, art, events, animals... you can do, eat and see it all!
A very fine state fair there was lots to see its of things to do I hope to go back again
Wonderful place to wonder year-round. I wish they had more events and festivals in non-fair times.
Very spaceful & reasonable hours! A little spendy, but a good experience! Great place to spend time with family and friends.
The snow sculptures are really amazing how they can make something out of blocks of snow
What can I say.....best State Fair in the Upper Midwest.
Back to the 50's car show was awesome as always!! Saw some pretty cool cars!
It's big and busy but there are lots of information booths with maps etc available. Lots of fun, it's not to be missed.
Lots of fun to walk around. The view from the Farris wheel was great.
This is an amazing bucket list visit. The variety of foods, creatively crafted, and activities makes for a fantastic afternoon of eating and people watching. Just be prepared everything is extremely expensive!
Rated #1 Best State Fair for good reason. Clean, huge, fun, educational & lots of food options with new offerings every year.
I always look forward to this event! So much to do here, eat here, and drink here. Good selection of grandstand events and midway games. A lot of history here! Don't miss out!
10 times better than the Wisconsin State fair. Drove 6 hours an it was well worth it. Can't wait for next year.
The attractions were great. Amazing stuff to see ..if you can get to the stuff. The amount of people and strollers made it nearly impossible to walk anywhere, it was more of a shuffle, which really made me anxious! Too many people. Maybe we went on the wrong day. Cheese curds were great, funnel cakes were kinda stale despite the busy day. Would return early in the day in the future.
If you like large crowds and greasy overpriced food like I do that s mean that you would like any state or county fair. This year they add a lot of new food, but we were trying to eat old classics like fried pickles, roasted corn and pork chop on a stick and smoked turkey leg.
