Great time

Great time

We liked this tour! It was very informative. There is quite a bit of walking and stairs to climb but it was worth it. We loved the caves and the beer tasting. We took the 3:30 tour we started the tasting around 4:30. The server advised us the gift shop closed at 5. We were not able to try the 3rd beer as we wanted a souvenir. We watch a documentary in starting the tour .

Arrived at 1201 pm, appointment time 2:00pm, it's 5:40 pm now, still waiting for call to a door, apparently truckers have an unlimited amount of time to wait. The product should be ready by the appointment time or they should cancel the load. 50% of the times I've been here it's like this.

Pros: FREE tour and free samples at the end were great. Touring the cellar was my favorite part of the tour as well as learning about the history of Miller in Milwaukee.

Cons: This tour feel very corporate and lacks authenticity as you will find in other tours. Guides were college kids versus beer enthusiasts you may find elsewhere.

Recommend this tour at the end of the day.

Quite disappointing: a video, a walk in the street, into a former beer cave, then a bar, then back to a packaging line, and end of tour. And during the tour you get a few beers. You don't see the brewing process. You only get some spoken information about that. Other brewery tours do that better.

With any big city, I always appreciate when there is ample free parking. The Miller tour had both. I also appreciated that the tour itself was free and included samples. In total, the tour + tasting is about an hour long. You get to see some of the operations but not a lot (for obvious health, safety, and privacy reasons). If you're in the area, this is a must do.

This was a thorough and in depth tour. We were pleasantly surprised that we got to "sample along the way" instead of having to wait until the end. What a novel and refreshing concept. Also pleasantly surprised to get a chip to try another beer at our choice of more than 20 local watering holes after the tour. Innovative!

Nice to be able to sample a variety of beers and see where they are made and hear a bit of history of the company for a very reasonable price. The tour could be better laid out. There was a lot of walking back and forth, covering the same ground

Entertaining and informative, plus free beer.

Entertaining and informative, plus free beer.

There's a lot of walking and a lot of standing, so be prepared for that. There was also a lot of talking. Lots of talking.

The Ice Cave was the highlight for us. I'm kind of a hop head so most of the Miller/Coors line tastes like water to me. Their Miller Valley line had a hefeweizen that really surprised me, though. Good beer.

Worh the money to learn about one of the largest breweries in the country. You get to see the original factory that is still standing and the old Miller caves along with today's modern version of brewing and packaging. Nice buildings, informative tour guides and 4 free samples of beer all in about an hour and 20 minutes. What's not to like?

I've done plenty of brewery tours, both small and large scale. This one was a huge let down! I think I learned more stuff about Miller from OTHER breweries in the area than I did AT Miller

There's lots of walking and steps, so if that's not your thing, this won't be fun for you. I was really looking forward to the history of the place, but didn't learn much on that end. There was an informational video at the beginning, that pretty told me everything I needed to know. I would have been fine with it. And then you go to the bottling and packaging area. And watch another video with stats and facts which is interesting.

Then we saw the warehouse area which is only filled for 24-36 hours worth of stock. Then you walk past all these historic buildings labeled things like stables and brigade but there's not much mention of them and you don't go in them. There were some historical plaques with info. And then you get to the "optional stairs" part of the tour. If you know how to brew beer, you don't need to go up. You go see a few tops of copper kettles, no fermenters and they go into the simplest description of how beer is made using these. And not even 3 minutes later you're going back down the stairs hot and sweaty.

And then comes the only truly interesting/historical part of the tour is into the caves... Or rather the first 2 rooms of them. There's another neat little story in here as well and this was the highlight of the tour in my opinion. Then it was across the street past the Inn that I still don't know if it's a real inn or not or functioning because there was no mention of it, and to the beer garden. Where if you look to the left from the bar you see the original Plank Rd house which again no one points out and I'd have love to go see as well. But it gets an extra star for the fact that it was free and you got 2 free beers out of the deal. They do try to sell you a picture package with some goodies in it, but most people come as couples but they only offer single items. I'd have purchased if it was $20 as opposed to $25 and came with 2 koozies and bottle openers.

The gift shop has some nice items and t-shirts and bar ware for all the brand's they make. Look for clearance areas behind the registers and on the ends of the shelves against the walls. If you're a Miller fan it's not bad, I was just disappointed at the lack of info and history.

So we sit down and 8 guys on a bachelor party are behind us. The language from these imbeciles was horrible. Kids are everywhere, they didn't seem to notice or care. Me my wife, two kids had to leave. Went to the usher working aisle T420 who placed us in a new seat away from the "party". I wish I got his name, the usher. He was amazing. He even gave my son a Brewers hat and checked in on us. It was our 1st trip there and that gentleman turned a very bad experience into a good one.

So disappointed...I have went on this your many times in the past years and this tour was the worst
Yep you get free 6 oz beer and drinks as fast as you can I took a family member hoping to impressive them with the history of miller
While the moive shows you the pabst building at the beginning of the moive
We walked outside more then inside..staff was disconnected with their customers
Missed watching the personal movie in the cave I feel dropping the game at the end of the tour the walking outside remember we r in Wisconsin in the winter really wow what a impersonal tour
All I learned from this last tour is no thanks go see the other many many breweries in Milwaukee so much better
Miller is for corporate and that's it you can see this in every step of this we don't care about their customers just give us money!!!!
Disappointed
Cheers to lakeside...pabst...all the rest..

So this was my first Macro brewery tour and it was amazing. The tour was informative with a short video and beer sample in the begining, nice walk and another beer sample in the caves, then we went to have a small break in the taproom with a beer of course. The guide was always sharing fun puns, history, and making us all feel like Wisconsinites. Seeing Summer Shanty going into their cases was just the thing to get me ready for summer. The second half of the tour included some serious stairs and more beer, duh. 10/10 would reccomend. Highly reccomend if you are visiting Milwaukee for the first time!

Second time visiting a major brewery where my first was the Budweiser brewery in Fairfield. The tour is interesting and certainly full of history however it consumes more time than they claim. The entire tour is an advertisement for how good their beer is and how they benefit the community which is to be expected but it sometimes takes away from the history and information provided in the tour. The facility however, is very pretty and I found it interesting to see how it evolved over the years.

This "tour" was a waste of time and money. The projector for the initial video history was broken but we were guided to the theater anyway where we sat for about 5 minutes, drank a beer sample and left. Next we walked several blocks, then up about 50 stairs through a 100 degree stairwell for another 5 minutes after this first ten minutes we took a break in the parlor...because we had done so much thus far...and had another beer sample. We watched another video. This one was purposely cut short because as the guide indicated "the ending was outdated". Lots of walking, very little information and not worth the trip. Total tour was about 30 minutes.
