Booked their private room for a birthday celebration and was consistently impressed by the experience from start to finish. Event coordinators Montana and Karmen were great to deal with, and service and food at the party was impeccable. I would highly recommend this venue.
Our server was awesome. Very attentive and nice! Made our visit very memorable!
Good upscale restaurant, although during the evening it is heavily reserved so it's hard to get some food from there via walk-in. So make sure to make reservations first!! The views around this area are very nice. The building is part of a large office and rentable spaces centre I believe. And across the street from it is a Fermont 5 Star hotel. The service and cleanliness of this place is really good. The food also seems very fresh and delicious!
Very good sushi. So good, we went there two times in our short stay in Vancouver.
This isn't your average Japanese restaurant---in a good way.
The food here isn't cheap, but the view is gorgeous and the food is amazing.
Arguably the best Japanese dining experience in downtown Vancouver.
One of the best restaurants we've ever been to (better than many places we ate at in Japan).
Our experience was amazing from start to finish; the starters as well as the sushi platter were absolutely delicious, so was the matcha desert! Highly recommend this place
I always have a great experience. My favorite is to sit at the bar and ask the chef to bring me things he thinks are great. It's expensive but worthwhile.
Top notch. Always enjoy dining here. Beer selection could be better.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good taste of the food. Very quick service.
Sushi rice was just average (and also a bit too cold which is inexcusable) but seafood was good quality. I expected to be a little more impressed considering the price and the hype. In Tokyo this quality would be just an average sushi place like for weekday lunch, nothing special. A bit too much of price and style over substance. Nice views and service, though.
Somewhat touristy spot with abury sushi (distinct style of 'smoked' sushi). Elegant, upscale great waterfront views. Sitting at the sushi bar is also not a bad choice to watch the chefs.
Excellent food...can walk in but reservations are better.
Highly recommend the ABURI sushi
Amazing service and good!
Super fresh!
Got the lunch special shokai. The oshi sushi was my favorite part, especially the salmon oshi.
Awesome sushi. A little pricey but almost as good as Japan.
Benchmark of sushi, gold standard, upper echelon, etc.
Great service but lunch menu os smaller and not as appealing as dinner menu.
Not really a sushi kind of guy, but I still absolutely loved it. Food was absolutely amazing.
Fancy sushi place, very good quality but also very expensive.
Different take on sushi. Delicious and new but not for the classic sushi wanters as my unfortunately father found out.
Really wonderful sushi and seafood. I did a multi-course meal and they were nice enough to create one with vegan options for my husband too.
Fusion Japanese at its best. Enjoyed the dining experience.
This place has good food, not great. But overpriced for the food you get. However, what was extremely disappointing was the lack of service and the attitude of the server. We had a lady serve us (didn't get the name) but after making us wait 20 minutes after giving us the menu when we wanted to order more, we mentioned that we couldn't find her since getting the menu for 20 minutes and now no longer wanted to order more. After that she got pouty and disappeared and didn't come back. She sent a colleague to finish our bill and never even apologized. Will never go back to a place where the staff is so unprofessional and so NOT with it. We tipped 10% which none of it was for her, but for the bus and kitchen staff!!!! Horrible experience!!
Really good! Had reserved a window seat table and was not given a window seat table which was a little disappointing but the food made up for it.
This is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver . My partner and I been going there for a couple of years now as we love the food there. We also been to Minami is Yaletown but we like the view and ambiance at Miku better. I didn t really care much for Japanese food before trying the ebi and salmon oshi. They use charcoal to lightly cook the meat and the flavour is incredible. I want to say that the service has always very good. Everyone there is super polite and they always ask you if you have some food allergies when taking your order. Two weeks ago we went without a reservation as this place is always busy, so you need to make a reservation well in advance. We sat at the sushi bar and we were lucky enough to have Lynn as our server. She is originally from Australia and has been working ther for a couple of months I think. We had never had such outstanding customer service. She was not only pleasant, but remembered all my requirements as I don t eat spicy food and need to use a fork instead of chopsticks (unfortunately I still haven t learned how to use them) . She checked on us several times, always had a smile on her face and did not make us feel rushed. We returned yesterday and to our surprise she remembered us and gave us the same amazing customer service she did precious time. On top of the amazing food, we were also very thankful to receive equally amazing service from Lynn and the other staff at Miku. Hopefully she will be our server next time we dine there as we can t wait to return.
Miku is always delicious. The service is prompt and attentive. Be prepared for long waits during dinner and lunch. Make a reservation online if you can!
Had a great experience at Miku. We were treated with respect and care the whole night. The waiter had great attention to detail.
The taste and presentation were top notch. It's a special experience to eat quality sushi, not simply a meal. One of the top in Vancouver for sure.
This is a place that appreciates the art of sushi.
We went here for dinner to try the aburi set since it was newly released. The whole experience was great however the food was just OK in my honest opinion. To sum it up, the service is much better than the meal itself. The nigiri is truly instagram worthy but lacked in true authentic sushi experience. The rice was cold by the time was ate it and anything with cold rice can only be so good... I would think twice before visiting again.
The 10 year anniversary tasting was amazing. Ate at the bar because we didn t make reservations early enough. Service was impeccable and if we every visit Vancouver again we will be back!
Had the lunch shokai. Super amazing deal if you ask me. Would go here again for sure.
Some of the best sushi in Vancouver, some with signature presentation. If you're not sure, get the Chefs Selection for a little of everything.
The quality of the sushi is outstanding but don't get the signature platters. Overpriced for 10pc of sushi.
Private room provides amazing venue for group meetings. Loved assortment of sushi and the progressive menu, excellent choice for dinner. Expertly paired with small vineyard product from New Zealand, Riverlore. Favorite dessert with inventive combination of matcha and chocolate, not to be missed.
Food are very tasty and the presentation is very well done with beautiful view along Convention centre.
Some of the best food I have had in a long time!! This is an excellent place to eat!
very special Japanese food and have good harbour views.
Excellent food albeit on the pricey side. Aburi is to die for. Ask your server about the Miku Zen of the day!
Delicious food and great service. Went on the recommendation of a friend. Walked in at 7 on a Monday night with no reservation and were seated promptly outside as requested. Service was impeccable- our waitress was very excited to answer questions and explain their menu. After taking our order, she asked if we had any allergies and when we said yes (to tree nuts) she took great care to understand the extent and severity of the allergy and then had the chef alter the items we ordered to make sure we were accommodated. I have never received such kind and thorough attention from a restaurant regarding my allergy and it was greatly appreciated. We ordered two aburi nigari offerings and one roll and the flavors and texture were amazing. Contemplating going back tomorrow to try the chefs menu (which is says a lot as we are only in Vancouver for a week and of course want to eat as much good food as possible while we're here).
Miku is an amazing restaurant the amount of care that goes into each dish felt in every bite.
Excellent service, great views and delightful sushi. Priced at the higher end but appropriate for what you get I think.
The Aburi Salmon Oshi Sushi is beyond delightful! The sushi, location and experience were so wonderful I went back twice in one day.
Food is great, but expensive. If you're hungry, prepare to spend $80 per person
My favorite sushi place in Vancouver. I've been going here for years and this place never disappoints. I've tried so many places that tries to mimic Miku's aburi sushi but no where comes close. Very fresh and high quality sushi.
Solid modern Japanese fusion
Prime rib: 10oz AAA beef cooked to perfection with demiglased sauce and wasabi-flavored salsa (wasabi pairs well with fatty, juicy Ribeyes). Comes with pureed broiled potatoes. Quite filling dish - $42
Oshi-sushi: got the 6-piece salmon, which melts in your mouth. Slight kick of jalapeno. The rice is lightly pressed into squares with small bits of sockeye "beni shake" salmon mixed in - $17
Aburi (nigiri) sushi: had the bincho and kanpachi. Slightly disappointing. The fish itself isn't flavorful and are unfortunately coated with "Asian fusion sauces". Not horrible, but not the main attraction (despite it being one of their specialties) - $3 ~ MP / piece
Overall a strong Japanese fusion. Definitely above average with reasonable prices. Excellent family/date spot.
This restaurant was amazing. I haven't had this great of sushi in a very long time. The plating was beautiful and creative and the flavours were absolutely delicious. Usually I am the type of person that needs soya sauce with my sushi but because the flavours were so good I didn't even want or miss it.
I would recommend that you make a reservation as it is usually busy there. We didn't, which wasn't a big deal as we just went across the street to the Fairmont Waterfront and had a glass of wine while we waited for them to call/text us when our table was ready.
This is a definately a place youust try.
The sushi is good - tuna was not fresh this time although. Very pricy for the quality and today the service was not there. Usually the service is slow but available. There is a lot of good quality sushi places in the same neighbourhood for less price and possibly better service. Very disappointed today that I will not bring my customers here again.
This was by far the best sushi/nigiri I've ever had. I recommend the Premium Aburi Nigiri. The staff were very kind and the service was quick on a Wednesday evening.
One of the best restaurants in Vancouver for aburi style sushi.
Miku is a very famous sushi restaurant amongst Vancouverites. Here you will get some of the freshest and melt-in-your mouth sushi you will ever eat. My partner and I ordered the lunch shokai ($38), which had two appies and 10 pieces of sushi, as well as miso soup. The service was absolutely fantastic and the decor is beautifully modern.
Amazing food, everything was delightful, and attentive staff. We especially loved the prawn rolls!
We were looking forward for some good sushi.
We picked up dinner for two- paid $170.
Food quality was below average.
One of dishes was premium sashimi but the fish quality was not premium.
Mis soup bowl was half empty. Sushi rolls were ok.
For the price the quality and portion size didn t meat exceptions.
Tased like any sushi joint. To bad wouldn t order from them again.
Sushi was fine but I don't like the sashimi, it tastes not that fresh and smells too fishy, My stomach feel a little uncomfortable after I tasted the seaweed salad, also the service not good, people can find lot places better than this jap restaurant in van I think, and the price is too expensive, the food not worth their price Just my opinions so sorry :(
I was invited to try out their seasonal menu. I gotta say miku has the best aburi sushi I've ever tried. I've been to japan a few times but never had such delicious sushi! Quite pricey to be honest ( though i didnt need to pay) but totally worth a try!
Was there for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was packed and tables were back to back. I found it absolutely hard to talk unless u book their private dining room.
One of a kind and truly special. If you're a fan of flame seared sushi (aburi sushi) then look no further and give Miku a try.
On top of being a beautiful restaurant by the water, Miku serves up some delicious sushi. You have to get at least one of their aburi oshi sushi. My personal favorite is the salmon oshi then saba oshi, then ebi. The salmon is buttery, rich, and melt in your mouth good while the saba has a nice tangy and savory taste.
On top of oshi dishes, I highly recommend the aburi prime plate. 9 pieces of unique, mouth watering, delicious nigiri all crafted with love from the Miku chefs. The plate is just an absolute must if you want an omakase style experience that your taste buds will love. If you want to go big then also add in the Miku Signature Selection which also features a unique set of pieces. I hardly deviate from ordering the things I've mentioned above because it's just too good.
I recommend booking a reservation through open table if possible if not then try to go to right before dinner like around 4ish and stay for dinner (starts at 5pm) so you can order the plates.
Great sushi. Different than most sushi places. Sushi is pressurized, forcing the Dat into the rice. Braised with a touch to seal in the flavour. Prawn fritters were awesome. Great room. Great service. Great view. Will definitely be back.
Everything was good here but definitely try the Aburi Oshi sushi. These are their signature seared rectangular sushi rolls. We tried the salmon and mackerel and were impressed with both. We also got a few drinks and they were all great as well! Wasn't super expensive considering how nice the place was! Definitely recommend!
Came in early right before lunch opening and caught a glimpse of all the staff members huddling together for a pep talk, a short team chant and a merry go round of high-fiving each other; reminded me of a professional sports team ritual getting ready to kill it on the field. Their weapon of choice is the torch flame (aka aburi style) to bring out the smokey taste and crunchy texture of multiple dishes such as the Salmon Oshi. The Kobe beef Nigiri tasted satisfying like watching Kobe making a three pointer. The decor looks and feels nice. The service was impeccable and our waiter was professional/humorous.
This restaurant is a classic example to show the importance of the freshness of seafood. The food choices here is typical high end japanese restaurant but because their seafood are very fresh, which makes a lot of difference in terms of taste. I think they have one of the best sashimi I have ever tasted outside Japan. Definitely on the pricey side but i think is worth a try or even 2. :) PS: I missed the rainbow trout sashimi and my wife missed the Uni.
Way over priced. I can get better sushi for 1/4 of the price. Service is slow. Would never recommend it to anyone.
Pressed sushi here is very good, but the portions are small. Don't expect to get full here on just one roll!
Top notch service and excellent high quality food. It is also quite costly so be prepared but know your money will be well spent. I wasn t sure I would enjoy it but I d love to return again soon.
Update: went back a second time and still love it. Service is excellent, location has a nice view, clean and bright. And the food is delicious for even the person who hates sushi (I brought my mom and she hates sushi and loved it). Drinks were delicious and didn t eat one thing I didn t like. This is a fine dining sushi experience and bill reflects that (but still worth it).
I have been here for several times, but today will be the last time. I have ordered the launch sashimi, but the salmon sashimi was rotten and there is a black spot on the read meat. Very ridiculously, a so called manager came and told me that it was blood. I have never heard or saw any sashimi will black spot. Won't came here again.
Not easy to come across fusion Japanese cuisine. This is the best place to go.
Loved it, first time trying the Aburi Oshi and it was amazing!
Lives up to its name! We had the chef's lunch tasting menu and it was amazing. Comes with a miso soup and salad with shrimp that are good but nothing to write home about...the sushi is the main event and it is worth it. Extremely fresh seafood and expertly prepared. Expensive obviously but you get what you pay for.
Instaworthy food. Nice ambiance. Staff was nice. Serve alcohol. Delicious food but few options.
An unmatched sushi experience! If you are looking for a more refined sushi experience you have found your spot. Although there is often a wait, the Japanese ambiance and melt in your mouth sushi is definitely worth it. Very happy and attentive staff are more than helpful with navigating the menus and making recommendations.
