When looking for a new or used vehicle, do yoursel...
When looking for a new or used vehicle, do yourself a favor & continue driving down SPID until you have completely missed the Mike Shaw dealerships!
In 42 years of purchasing vehicles of every kind, in every price range & condition, from almost every source imaginable, the overall experience at Mike Shaw was HANDS DOWN, THE ABSOLUTE WORST -EVER!
My sales person did not listen to one word I said when he asked me to describe what I was looking for. In fact he tossed the list of things I wanted to see out the window & proceeded to direct me toward everything I DID NOT want to look at and had emphatically stated I was not interested in seeing. Namely a light color, hopefully lower mileage, well maintained, gas saver with a moon or sunroof, priced under $18K quickly became a parade of dark burgundy, black and midnight blue high-mileage, high-priced vehicles with V8's, no moon or sun roof, and moderate to heavily worn interiors and exteriors. Sales 101-LISTEN!
Since I have always advocated keeping my business local, giving back to the businesses that support mine whenever possible, I started my search with Mike Shaw since they were consistently ranking as one of our top 20 accounts at the time.
The car I had been eyeing since first setting foot on the property, was front row, center & just outside the front door. Although it fit my "wish list" perfectly, each time I mentioned it, I was redirected, interrupted or escorted in the opposite direction until I insisted on seeing and driving it. It was close to perfect in every way, even down to my wish list! The only minor blemish was the front wrap around bumper covering which houses the lower grille, fog lamps and sweeps back to end at the front wheel wells was being held on with zip ties! I was assured it wouldnt be a problem to fix so I purchased the car!!
I take the car in for service and to have the part replaced. They had to order a brand new part then have it prepped and painted, would install it and do their best to match the old and new paint shades. Thats all fine. I picked up my car and was told to drive it about 4 to 6 months then bring it back to blend the paint. Again, not a problem. Until I realized the body part was never wet-sanded or properly prepped prior to being painted. Anyone that's spent a minute near a body shop will tell you that paint is no longer on that part. They would have had better results of the paint adhering if we had have covered the part in Crisco, motor oil and teflon prior to painting it like they did. The white paint has peeled off the front of the car till the point that it now looks like a salvage part stuck on the front of my car. Ive been transferred back to Houston with my job and cant just drop the car off at Mike Shaws body shop to try to fix again... Yet calls to rectify the problem have gone unreturned or Im placed on indefinite ignore. I mean hold.
I bought my car 12/2017 and Im still waiting for an acceptable resolution!.
