Johnny B was amazing! Great music and knows what the crowd likes!

We had Kevin as our DJ, he was awesome! He was on time, early actually (which was great), he was professional, thorough, knew what I wanted, and was engaging with our guests. He helped keep the wedding moving, was flexible, made sure all the songs, dances, etc. that we wanted happened, and was laid back and easy going. It was definitely a great experience and we highly recommend Kevin to anyone! :)

We recently got married and Midwest Sound did all of our music for us. DJ Emmet was FABULOUS, my husband and I loved working with him and our guests commented several times throughout the evening on how fantastic he was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND MIDWEST SOUND - ASK FOR EMMET IF YOU CAN!

We used Midwest sound for our wedding and we were so very happy. The initial conversations were very helpful, the deposit was reasonable and we got a great deal on unlimited music with a few add on (we chose par-can lights). During the planning time, Midwest Sound has an amazing portal and will find any music that you want for your event. It also has a place for you to explain your event and specific timing (speeches, dances, etc). We had a pre-call with our chosen DJ - Justin, and he was very pleasant.
For setup, Justin really worked on his own, he was able to setup in our backyard DIY wedding with not much help needed from anyone. He even dressed according to our theme colors, down to the colors of his pens in his pocket.
During the evening he was great at communicating, very friendly, upbeat, and everyone had an amazing time. Thank you Midwest sound!

We had a great experience with Midwest Sound! They were very easy to work with in initial planning, they were responsive if we had questions, and affordable for our event! Easy system to upload the songs we really wanted played throughout the night. The DJ we had (Zeke) did an amazing job for our Duluth wedding.

Kaleb was our DJ and he was wonderful! He called the week of the wedding to go through everything and was so easy to talk to. I had a timeline which I of course completely forgot about during the wedding but he made sure that everything we wanted to do happened! If it wasn t for him we would have forgot to do half the stuff we had originally planned on. The music he picked was perfect and he played all of our guests requests just like we asked and really knew how to read the crowd. I highly recommend.

Our DJ Andrew kept the dance floor packed the whole night of our wedding and he was so much fun! We loved the service we received through Midwest Sound throughout the planning process too! I would recommend them to any future couple.

We had been to other weddings where Midwest Sound was the DJ years prior and we really impressed. Which is why we went with this company. We had the WORST experience ever! Would give 0 stars if it was allowed. Nick (our assigned DJ) called us the Wednesday before our big day and asked us all the same questions we had already answered on the companies online portal. There was a lot of awkward pauses where it seemed like his attention was elsewhere rather then on the conversation he was having with us. We mentioned that we had emailed 2 songs over to the company who stated they got it to our DJ, and he had no clue about the song. The day of the wedding. Where do I even begin: 1) our DJ showed up 45+ minutes late from the time he stated he would arrive. 2) he did not start playing seating music until 15+ minutes after his pad time (only after one of our family members went up to his and instructed him to begin playing on my request) 3) he played the wrong first dance song 4) Our biggest request was for him to keep the dance floor packed the whole time. This was not done. And multiple time through the night the dance floor was empty 5) We asked for a DJ that was interactive with the crowd. The only time he spoke over the mic was when we instructed him to make an announcement. 6) He did not play requests from our guests (even when we had instructed him to) unless we (the bride or groom) went up and told him to play the same song that was requests 20+ minutes prior 7) When my father (who signed the DJ s paycheck) told him to change the song when no one was on the dance floor he told him No I am going to keep playing this song. 9) He told us he had no list of songs that we requested. (We filled out the online portal and put multiple songs on there that we would like played) We question whether the company even looked at our requests regarding DJ matching as Nick was everything we did not ask for!! This was just some of the many things that went wrong at our wedding. We have reached out to the company several time and never heard back. Save yourself the time and stress and pick another company!

Midwest Sound was amazing and we couldn't be happier with them! Zach was the person we talked to the most on the phone, and he made sure everything was coordinated for our wedding. The online requesting system was very easy to use and submit. Reese was our DJ on the day, and he went through every point with us a couple days before to make sure it was perfect. He kept the party going until midnight, and there were people on the dance floor until we had to close it up. He was also really flexible and helped make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it, even when what we wanted changed on the fly. HIGHLY recommend Reese and the rest of the Midwest Sound team!!

DJ Matt did an amazing job at our wedding! He kept the dance floor full the entire time! He had the perfect amount of crowd interaction for our group! If we had requests he was quick to work them into his set! We're so glad we went with Midwest Sound for our big day! We also got the photo booth through them and that was such a hit! Everyone loved it and we got some great pics of everyone! We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding DJ! Thank you so much Matt!

We had DJ Sam for our ceremony and reception, and he was AMAZING. From start to finish, it s so easy to plan your music using their online portal, they worked with my officiant and planner to make sure things stayed on track, and the music was seamless. My biggest desire was keeping people on the dance floor all night and making sure everyone was having a blast. Not one hint of exaggeration, there was NEVER a break in people dancing and Sam always had people up and dancing. Not to mention, he had over 25 people still on the dance floor at midnight! Sam took the time to call and get a feeling for how we wanted the day to go and absolutely nailed reading the vibes of the guests and what they were wanting to dance to. Everyone complimented us on the dance portion of the evening and we couldn t have been happier with Midwest Sound. If you need a wedding DJ, I can t recommend this company (and Sam) enough. Their service, quality, and affordability is top notch.

Working with Midwest was great! They answered all my questions and were easy to work with. Had one mishap for my wedding day, but talked on the phone right away with a manager who was very kind and seemed to really care! I d recommend them.

Our DJ, Taylor, did a fantastic job! He contacted us the week before the wedding to confirm everything and make sure he had everything correct. He arrived to the venue early to set up. He did an amazing job and kept everyone out on the dance floor.

Midwest Sound did such a great job at our wedding reception. Our DJ, Emmit, was awesome. We got lights, wireless mics, and a photo booth. The photo booth went over so well and you get all the pictures back to share with everyone. Very professional, easy to add music request and reception details online before the night, great sound system and lights, good price. Can say enough good things!

My wedding night was awesome and DJ Alex was FANTASTIC. He did more than a great job and I want to have another event just so we can party with Alex again.

DJ Mimi was a BOSS for my wedding. She was easy to work with, did a great job in reading the room and played all the songs that were requested. She was very interactive when she needed to be. Must hire.

My wife and I got married last month (June 2018) on a boat on the St Croix, and DJ Alex was our man. We had roughly 250 people at our wedding, coming from 9 different states. What they all had in common was the fact that they couldn't get over how awesome our DJ was, and my wife and I couldn't agree more or be pleased more. To say he was helpful is an understatement, but his enthusiasm and patience was *really* what he brought to the table. There are always logistical obstacles at every wedding, and Alex tackled ours with swift efficiency. His well-thought-out suggestions to make our ideas even better were greatly appreciated. 6 out of 5 stars. Alex, I hope you read this, because we can't thank you enough!

We hire Midwest Sound to DJ our wedding, dinner and reception and could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out. We used Midwest Sound for our wedding and we were very pleased. We had DJ Max with us and he was very professional, yet kind and fun at the same time. He was able to keep people dancing all night. He also made sure to go over all of the details with us ahead of time and continuously checked in with us through the wedding night, which was great. With recommendation of our event coordinator at our venue, my wife and I selected Midwest Sound for our wedding that was on August 31, 2019 and we are very satisfied with our decision. In the beginning stage of picking out DJ, we had some questions on the different services they offered so they were happy to arrange a meeting at their location in Roseville. They showed us their accent up lighting and tailored a package that fulfilled everything that we were looking for. We had the honor of having Levy as our DJ on our wedding day. He called us a couple days before the event to check on final details and to get to know us. On our wedding day everything went seamless. His music choices were excellent, his up lighting install was great and he did an excellent job with the anniversary dance. He kept everyone entertained and we had no complaints. Overall, we would recommend Midwest Sound and Levy!

Terry was absolutely AMAZING! She was professional, detailed, attentive, and really knew about to work the crowd! The dance floor was an absolute blast and guests danced the entire wedding. We loved how she transitioned between our formal dinner music, to first dances, and onto fun hip hop music for our younger crowd. We loved how she kept us on time and reminded us of our bouquet toss and garter toss, if it weren't for her we would have forgotten! She truly understood the vibes we were looking for and created a wonderful evening we'll never forget! I would highly recommend her!

We had Midwest Sound DJ our wedding. They did our ceremony, room lighting, and reception. Somebody was around every time I needed help along the way. The staff was super helpful and polite. The night of the reception went exactly as planned and people danced until the last song was over. Our DJ checked in with us a few times to make sure everything was up to our expectations. Our dj, John B. exceeded our expectations for our wedding on April, 1 2017! He was so fun, professional, easy going and helped everything come together perfectly, even our little surprises !!

Midwest Sound was really easy to work with. They have a main office that handled the contract, getting us planning forms, and making changes to any of our services leading up the wedding. About a week before our wedding we connected with our DJ to run through everything we submitted in our planning documents. DJ Terry was AMAZING! She was able to keep people with wide ranging music tastes and ages on the dance floor all night. We gave her a few song suggestions but most of it was just her responding to the crowd. People were asking me about DJ Terry all night and into the next week wanting to know how to contact her and hear her play again. Highly recommend!

He took our requests very seriously and tailored our wedding music perfectly to us.

When things went wrong, he remained calm and fixed the problems himself.

If you are getting married, stop your search, you have found the perfect DJ! We LOVED Neva, our DJ for our wedding (Aug 2017) and all of our family and friends have not stopped raving about how amazing the dance and DJ was.
Let me preface by saying my husband and I are BIG dancers and so are our families so we wanted a DJ who could make it a fun environment and keep the party lively. Neva was perfect for the job! She made sure everything was on time but played everything we requested and read the crowd to keep the dance floor FULL at all times. A great combo of genre's and music selection kept all of our 300+ guests entertained all night. She was interactive with our group and got the crowd engaged, but just enough! (did not make herself center of attention or go over the top) Above all, she is an absolute sweetheart! She will make your wedding dance a night to remember.
Midwest sound in general was great to work with. They are affordable, they were on top of everything and easy to work with. We lived an entire state away when we booked and they took care of everything over the phone, calling us every few months after booking to make sure everything was lining up the way we wanted.

Well . Where do I even start about the AMAZING job that Alex did at our Wedding! We are really at a loss on where to begin . He was simply exceptional! From counting guests before the ceremony started to serving the bridal party water right after our outdoor ceremony, to the out of this world dance that he put on We were amazed at his professionalism and his focus on service before he even started the dance. Then when the dance started, his energy and demeanor, every guest in the room had to pick their jaw off the floor. It was FANTASTIC!!! He was a hot topic Saturday morning at breakfast.

He was so much more that we could have ever imagined and every comment we heard was that he was the best DJ and it was the best wedding dance they have ever been too. We don t take credit for that, we give all that credit to Alex and the job that he did for the entire night. We really are at a loss for words on how well and awesome Alex was. He had asked us exactly what we wanted and provided with more, he kept the dance floor hopping and if a song cleared it out, it was faded out and the floor was filled again (we went to walk off for a drink, just to have to turn right around and go back to the dance floor). He was also fantastic and patient with the kids in the beginning of the dance as well.

We feel so, so SOOOO lucky that we picked Midwest Sound for our dance and we feel blessed that Alex was chosen for us. I know we have other family members that will be planning weddings soon and after that performance they know who they want to DJ. Everything was perfect and then some. We would recommend Alex and Midwest Sound to anyone looking for a great time!!

We had Zac as our DJ and he was AMAZING!! He played all of the songs we requested and every song that was requested by our guests.
We weren t going to do any special dances (being it was a 10 year renewal. We got married at the court house originally) but, my best friend asked him to play a song for my husband and I to dance to and my dad and I. He tracked me down to ask me if it was ok! That was awesome that he did that and didn t just call us out on the dance floor. He also knew my dad didn t really want to dance so he shortened the song to only be a minute and a half! He was at the venue earlier than we were and left after we did. He got involved with the crowd like I had requested but also wasn t on the mic the whole time either. I had so many people ask where I found my DJ and how wonderful he was. I HIGHLY recommend Zac. You won t regret it! He s awesome!!

Used their services for our wedding on 11-2-19 and could not have been happier with our DJ Taylor! He was ready to go when we arrived and kept the dance floor full all night! Took requests and was super friendly and responsive when I would go up to ask him questions or put in my own requests. 3 times when I went up to ask if he would play a song he already had it loaded and coming up! Great at reading the crowd. A friend of mine was the one who recommended this company to me! And I won t hesitate to do the same Thanks again Taylor everyone had a great time!

James was our DJ for our wedding in September and he did both music for ceremony and reception. I have to say I was not the most organized with completing my sheets requested online deciding on songs was hard. But both James and Midwest sound company as a whole were so wonderful and easy to work with, with last minute changes and all the questions I had. Anytime I called anyone that answered was so nice and helpful! James kept our ceremony beautiful with the music and our reception going all night long! Also had photo booth which was a great late add on so fun!

Our DJ (Emmet) truly made our night one to remember! He was so engaging with our crowd and kept everyone aware of what was happening. He was patient with us when we got a behind on our timeline and helped keep our guests engaged during any downtime. He checked in with us multiple times throughout the night to see if there was anything we needed or wanted. He played AMAZING music and even joined us on the dance floor for some of the line dances! Highly recommend Emmet and Midwest Sound for your DJ needs!

If I could rate this a 0 I defiantly would. I was at a wedding April 7th and the DJ was awful. He didn t play songs that were important to the bride and groom. He left a lot of things out. Wouldn t recommend this company to anyone. Horrible just horrible.

Alex was the DJ for my son's wedding and he was amazing. He kept the party going!!

We had Guthrie as our DJ at the Banquets of MN in Fridley and he was amazing! Very personable and professional. He was very good at communicating with our coordinator and with us. We had a lot of guests comment on how great the music selection was and how Guthrie did such a great job. He helped make our wedding reception even better and we appreciate it so much!

We had DJ Josh for our wedding reception DJ! I honestly can t think one one bad thing to say about him!
We had gotten a call from him about a week before the wedding - he just wanted to check in/go over what we expect out of or DJ/and asked if we had any questions for him. It was very reassuring to hear from him and how excited he seemed for us!

Fast forward to our big day, Josh was on time, professional, and honestly one of the best DJs we have seen!
Our dance floor was packed literally all night!!!!!!

Another AMAZING thing with Josh was he kept the night on schedule. The wedding day was going SO SO FAST, and we had a set itinerary for when we wanted speeches, first dance, etc. Josh watched the clock and kept us on track in a very professional and fun way!!!!

If we got married all over again, Josh would 150% be our go to guy! Our guests are still raving about our wedding reception!!!

Working with Midwest Sound for our wedding was fabulous. From the start to the finish, they were helpful, prompt, followed-through on all expectations, and best of all, we wound up with the BEST DJ. So many of our guest commented on how much fun our wedding was and how great/fitting the music was for us. Zak nailed the timing on all our ceremony music choices, was just the right amount of engaging with the guests at large, and was very personable and kind. We can't say enough good things about Midwest Sound as a company and Zak as a DJ. 5 stars all the way.

We used Midwest Sound for our wedding DJ and couldn't be happier with them. Our DJ Russell was amazing. I'm pretty particular about music so I wanted to meet with the DJ before the wedding. Russell drove across the cities in rush hour traffic to meet me in order to make sure we were on the same page. He was extremely professional but yet entertaining at the reception. We requested a few unique games and songs and he made sure they all were all done just like we wanted them. Most importantly though, the mix of music that he played was perfect for our crowd. Everyone had a blast on the dance floor. Overall we are extremely happy that we chose Midwest Sound. Thanks for making our wedding perfect Russell!

Went to a holiday party tonight for work and had DJ Toni T and it was a blast. I was on the dance floor the whole night and even my friends who never danced got up to dance and sing to the music! The music was such a variety it made it so much more fun! We had a blast and can t wait to book Toni T for our future events!

I would suggest checking out other companies for your wedding reception. Its not that they were horrible to work with, but could have been better. I met the reps at a wedding fair where they were running a special price if you booked that day. I wasn't ready to book but called a week later and was told on he phone they could send me a $100 certificate which would match the special price. A few weeks before my wedding, I told the office lady Rachel I had it and she had an attitude and said she had a discount already on my event order so I could either pay what she had now or she could bill full price and then use the $100 certificate they sent. What was the point in sending it then??!?! Understandable if you can't combine discounts, but then don't tell me something else up front just to book the job. Also, the office staff could have just said it, not given me attitude. We moved on. My DJ called the week of the wedding as planned, but was really casual on the phone. "I usually do this..." was how most of the hour conversation went. Also, I was at work and was told this would be a brief phone consult. The hour wasn't brief, and was basically was just him reading off the song sheets I sent in and telling me he likes to play the music types I specifically crossed off. I trusted the DJ as the expert for what works well and it worked our alright. However...MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that our DJ (Caleb?) was out smoking amongst my guests during cocktail hour on the patio. NOT OK. Not professional and none of my guests smoke. I personally saw him out smoking several times and my husband did too. I feel he should have been out of sight and/or not smoke for the 5 hours he worked our wedding, especially not when my guests are eating and trying to enjoy the patio space.

Our dj did a awesome job of keeping the music going and people into the music. The wedding ceremony was perfect with the music he did as we asked. Would recommend to anyone!

My wife and I went through Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment for our wedding on 8/17/2019. After seeing one of their DJs work our friend's wedding we knew who we wanted to use for our upcoming nuptials. We requested the same DJ and were lucky enough to get him. Alex U. was a blast and a half. Our whole goal of the reception was to keep the party going, and Alex made that happen. Between taking requests to even throwing down some sweet moves on the dance floor the party was fantastic. We chose to have a Photo Booth as well through Midwest Sound and that was a great choice. People could text or email the pictures to themselves, and we received the entire camera roll from the evening! For the last half hour Alex grabbed the Photo Booth and brought it out onto the dance floor, and those are my favorite pictures by far!!!

Midwest Sound was super easy to work with and had back up plans set up just in case of emergency (DJ sickness, equipment issues, etc.). Such great value too! I highly recommend using this for any DJ need you may have in the future, and be sure to request Alex U. if you get the chance!!

Midwest Sound did a fabulous job at our wedding reception on 9/14/19 at Barns of Old Glory! He kept the crowd engaged and was super responsive to anything and everything that was requested of him! He called me the week before the wedding to discuss details and go over requests that I had made and I had told him to just go with the flow of the night - if something doesn't get played, that's fine. He did such a great job with the night and even got into the night with the glowsticks we had out for our guests! My husband had made the comment to me that he thought the kids kept giving him glowsticks and I told him no, he has been grabbing them on his own. This was fantastic to see him get into the evening and match with the crowd! He had told me later in the evening it was only his second solo show that he has done but that didn't hinder him at all - he was fantastic! The whole day and night was such a blur that I honestly forgot his name (I think I was given it when he first got there but it was hard to keep track of everything). I would highly recommend Midwest Sound for any event needing a DJ!

We had DJ Maxx for our wedding ceremony and reception. He did an amazing job! He was very professional and proficient. All the music choices he selected were loved by everyone. The dance floor remained packed until the end. He also was very flexible and willing to customize anything to accommodate the night and give it the best flow possible. At the end of the night there was only two people left dancing, Maxx made sure to keep the music playing until everyone was gone.

Neil did a fantastic job for our wedding! Very responsive, on time, and professional.

DJ Alex did my brother and sister in law's wedding and he was so great! He had so much energy and you could tell he clearly enjoyed what he does. He took song requests from the crowd, read the room and he kept everyone dancing all night long. If there was ever a lull in the dancing, he was out there himself! He was so funny and entertaining without being too over the top. I highly recommend Alex for your wedding or party!

I am so happy with the service provided. Neil was a great DJ and he did more than that. He dismissed my tables for the buffet, he helped clean up plates for my guests, he helped moved stuff to make room for the dance! He even was dancing with everyone occasionally! He was beyond helpful and so nice. Clean up was quick and much appreciated for doing so since we were all tired ourselves. Not to cheesy, and active in the party when needed. Reasonably priced too! Thank you so much for everything!

Alex was a wonderful DJ for our wedding at Majestic Oaks. He is extremely energetic, kind, professional, helpful, and was fabulous at encouraging dancing. I would highly recommend Alex and Midwest Sound for any wedding.

DJ Rush did a fantastic job on our wedding night. All of our guests had a blast, and kept on talking about how fun it was. Would definitely recommend this company and DJ Rush for your wedding or event!

Midwest Sound was the easiest vendor that I dealt with in the process of planning my wedding. Rachel was very responsive via phone and email, and our DJ, Kwao, absolutely nailed it! He handled the sound for our ceremony, dinner, and dancing, and it was completely seamless. We got lots of complements on the music. The price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend Midwest Sound.

Update 11/16/15 - to add to my disappointment, the VP of the company called and apologized for the horrible services my husband and I received from their company and said he would be sending out gift cards for us to use. I received two $20 gift cards to restaurants that are 70 miles from my home. The gift cards will barely cover the cost of gas it will take to drive to the restaurants. Talk about a slap in the face when you realize I paid them $1,000 for their negligent services!!

If I could give this zero stars, I would! My wedding was 10/3/15 I booked and paid my deposit for Midwest Sound to be my DJ service on 4/9/15. I sent in all required information by 9/5/15 that was requested. On 9/25/15 I received a call/message from a Midwest Sound sales person asking me how my planning was going and if I had booked a DJ. I immediately called them back informing them that I had booked them 5 months ago and paid my deposit. They told me the person who had called me forgot who she was calling and out of routine left me their sales pitch message they leave everyone. The next week on 9/30/15 I received a call from my DJ Matt who went over song choices and a rough outline of how the night would go. The DJ services the day of the wedding were horrible. Half of the people couldn't hear anything being said and missed the dollar dance and auctioning of the garter. The DJ didn't have a wireless microphone so all speeches had to be done in front of the DJ table. To top it off at the end of the night DJ Matt asked us for a tip. I'm a firm believer that if someone wants to tip you they will and you should never ask for one. We were planning to give him $100 but dropped it down to $50 after he abruptly informed us he wanted a tip in front of our family and friends at the reception. Now after all of this has happened I was sure glad when the wedding was over and everything was being placed behind me, however the week after my wedding on 10/8/15 I received another call from Midwest Sound asking me once again how my wedding planning was going and if I had found a DJ yet. I informed him my wedding had already passed. He said he must have accidentally called me from the wrong stack of papers he was to call that day and then he asked who I used as my DJ. I began questioning the professionalism of the company and questioned how he didn't know that I had used them as my DJ service. He said he was sorry, gave no explanation as to why he had no information on me or my wedding services that were used by Midwest Sound. I would not recommend Midwest Sound for any entertainment services. This was a waste of $850 down the drain. I could have connected my iPod to some speakers and had better music than what I paid them for.

DJ John was awesome to work with. He called the week of the wedding to go over every detail with us and our plan. He arrived early and had everything set up before the guests arrived. He was fun, engaged as much as we wanted him to, and played the music we asked for. Kept the dance floor alive and helped us throw a great party. Customer support was excellent as well when we had to change our date due to Covid-19. They were willing to work with us and understood that things were out of our control. We had DJ Sam for our wedding this October, and he was awesome. We could tell that he was so happy for us and wanted to do everything he could to make it the perfect evening...and it was! We were married on 7/31/2020 and had Jon as our DJ. Jon was phenomenal from the first time we spoke to the end of our wedding night. He mixed in some fun music while we did photos to get the energy up for some fun photos. He really went with the flow. We originally didn't plan on a dollar dance but my father really wanted us to do one, so he worked it in and everyone loved it! The entire night was so fun and the dance floor was packed! Midwest Sound was a dream to work with and so fast to respond and get questions answered! Thank you, Midwest Sound & Jon for a perfect wedding!

I would suggest searching elsewhere for your DJ. The expectations were not unreasonable either. The bride and groom should not have to guide the DJ at the beginning of the night, no dinner music, and no smoke machine (that was paid for). Not the best experience.

Midwest sound was great to work with for entertainment for our wedding! We had Neil as our DJ. He was fabulous! He was very engaging, fun and down to earth. The dance floor was full all night. Neil knew how to get people out on the dance floor and kept them out there.

We had DJ Alex. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My friend had him as his DJ 2 years ago. As soon as we were engaged we secured him to DJ our wedding. Alex was absolutely wonderful. Easy to work with, kept his word and timeline for the wedding. Alex obviously loves what he does and it showed. We wanted a very relaxed party atmosphere and he did exactly what we wanted. He caters to what you want and goes above and beyond. He assisted the planner and she told us that he was helping everyone and she has never seen someone so professional. He had the dance floor full from song 1! The father of the bride told Alex he will be the DJ for his 4 other kids weddings. THANK YOU ALEX!!!

Ohmigod, you have to request Alex if you book with Midwest! He had the party going the WHOLE NIGHT! He was so much fun and he was so helpful the WHOLE day! He was getting me and my husband water and food before we got hitched! Went way above his call of duty! Seriously though, if you want people to dance all night long, book with Midwest! Midwest Sounds was amazing! DJ Max ran our reception for our wedding and made it so much fun! He made transitioning from dancing to events like the dollar dance go smoothly and kept the energy high for guests!

We were married on 9/18/2020 and had Steve as our DJ. He was FANTASTIC from the day we meet with him all the way through the end of the reception. He was entertaining and everyone commented on how funny he was. Thank you Midwest Sound and Steve!!!

I've heard mostly good things about midwest sound. Unfortunately we had a different experience. Our Dj Ryan didn't even contact us until the day before our wedding. Our wedding came and he seemed to not have a clue on how to do a wedding. The day was such a whirlwind for me that it was almost 1030 when my husband realized we hadn't had a garter toss, bouquet toss or any of that stuff. When he asked Ryan about it he replied that we were supposed to let him know when we wanted to do those things. I want to believe that most djs with midwest sound are able to decipher for themselves the best times to get the crowd engage with those activities and we just happened to have an inexperienced dj. We ended up not doing any of it since a majority of the guests were gone already. If you go with this company I'd just recommend meeting with your dj and making certain they know what they are doing. I'm sad to have to give them 1 star but I also feel they shouldn't employ people without having certainty they can perform as they are expected.

We were super excited to use Midwest Sound as our music vendor. We were told we would get someone who would actor to our needs and would be familiar with what we wanted. Boy we're we wrong.

First the guy shows up and doesn't have any of the ceremony music or first dance songs that we requested weeks earlier. He then scrambles to find the right songs and then after he does he plays all of ur songs at the wrong times. Our videographer had to change out all of the music that he played during the ceremony because it was all wrong. And to top it off he never changed out of the plain t-shirt and red leather Michael Jackson thriller pants that he showed up in.

We made sure to walk him through all of the wedding party's names and wrote them all down for him phonetically so there would be as little confusion as possible. But it didn't help this guy. And during the grand march he never he said the groom's name. It was just "brides name and..." nothing.

After returning from our honeymoon we spoke with a manager And he did apologize but said he was only able to refund $200 of the original cost. After explaining that that wasn't much but if it's all we can get then that's fine, we get a check in the mail a few weeks later for $195.

With all of the good reviews we never dreamed this would happen to us. Bad luck maybe but it was REALLY bad.

WORST DJ COMPANY EVER. So we hired them for our recent wedding and initially had a great experience. They communicated well and everything seemed fine AT FIRST. 4 days before the wedding, a DJ contacted me asking when a good time to call was. We arranged for 1030am the next day. By 1130am I hadn't heard from him so I texted him. He immediately called back, sounded like he just got out of bed and said he was on another call. Not feeling this was professional or appropriate to not let me know that the plans had changed, I called Midwest Sound and asked for a new DJ. By the next afternoon (2 days before the wedding) i still hadn't heard anything so I called them. They said a new DJ would be calling. I spoke with him, he seemed fine, we had 3 requests for the wedding so it wasn't complicated. ONE HOUR before I walked down the aisle, the company called and said the second DJ had a family emergency and they would have to give us a third DJ. There was nothing we could do and they said it would be covered so I let it go. We got to the reception and there is a DJ there so I check in with him, make sure he understood our 3 song requests. He said that he did and then asked the groom and myself what our astrological signs were.....i still have no idea why he wanted to know, but he actually asked us several more times during the evening which was weird to say the least. We have dinner and he is suppose to announce the speeches. We are waiting for this to happen and then realize.....and he is gone. No one can find him. Our caterer had to look for him. Myself and my bridesmaids were looking all over our venue. He claims he was gone for 5 minutes, which is a lie because we waited around for at least 25 minutes and that was after we noticed he had left. He finally returns after he said he had to go get batteries for the Mic. How are you a DJ company and you don't bring batteries for the microphone???? When he announced the speeches, we couldn't understand anything he was saying and when we informed him that he wasnt being clear, he said he was nervous. He was totally unprepared and unprofessional. I understand that he was called in last minute and when I called the company to ask how they were going to rectify the situation, they blamed me for everything. They said it was my choice to fire the first DJ, however they acknowledged that it was unprofessional to just not call at the scheduled time. They claim that the third DJ felt "like less of a man because we were all upset that he just left the venue without telling anyone. They offered us a $150 compensation which was nowhere near the amount to cover the stress that this produced. We will NEVER hire them again and we will tell everyone to spare themselves a lot of time and tears and go with another DJ company.

WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF ABLE. We had a terrible experience with our DJ on the night of our wedding. From him FORGETTING our names and our parents names during the grand entrance, to him being no where to be found when we needed to use the microphone for speeches. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. Here's a more detailed list of what all went wrong:

First, I was told that I would get a certain amount of time that the DJ would be playing music. I informed Midwest sound that my cocktail hour would be in a different room than the dinner and they would play music in that room before the wedding. Instead, the DJ sat in a chair in the empty ballroom while no music played during cocktail hour. I was told music would be played from 5-11:30 and he didn't play until the grand entrance which began around 7. As people were walking in to be seated, I had requested for the DJ to play upbeat music to get everyone pumped up and no music was played at all.

Next, our grand entrance entrance was a disaster. The DJ was asking me (the bride) moments before what all of the names were, which I provided months ago and also on the phone 2 days before. I had to organize and change the order for his convince. During the grand entrance, he only announced my parents names and announced my husbands parents as "the other parents." Which is extremely rude and embarrassing for them. They paid A LOT for this wedding too and for them to be referred to as "the other parents" was beyond me. Then, I had also previously selected specific songs for the grand entrance. During the bridesmaids and groomsmen entrance NO music was played at all. We had even discussed this over the phone 2 days prior to the wedding too.

Next, the DJ did not inform anyone he was leaving in the MIDDLE of our speeches. The DJ was absent for 10+ minutes and no one could find him. The DJ was in charge of the sound to the microphone, so my dad stood at the front of the room awkwardly (with no music) while we waited for the DJ to come back.

Next, the DJ did not include any of the special dances that we requested. We do understand that our guests made requests for songs, however, we stated that we wanted songs like the electric slide, Macarena, and the dollar dance. I was ESPECIALLY mad that he did not do the dollar dance as we had discussed this in great detail in our phone call with the DJ. The dollar dance is a polish tradition in my family that everyone has done. I even went up to the DJ to ask why he didn't play it and he just shook his head and asked if I wanted to do it now. However, this was already after a lot of my guests had left or moved on to sit in different rooms.

I also chose for the DJ to be active with our guests but just not obnoxious, however hardly said a word during the wedding and didn't hype anyone up for us. The only time he would play a song is if I personally came and asked (which was out of the way on my end) or if someone gave him money.

Saving the worst for last, there was so much profanity in some of the songs he was playing. Not once were we asked for permission to play such explicit music. This was something that my husband and I were told MULTIPLE times by our guests. We had little kids who were hearing the "N" word and "F" word over and over. Truly disgusted.

When I contacted Midwest sound, they informed me I would be getting compensated. I never got any sort of refund or compensation. I even talked to the manager.

Overall, I will never recommend this company to anyone. I paid for a service that I didn't receive and I would like compensation. I was DISGUSTED the entire night. It really showed how much our DJ cared about our wedding when he handed my husband a thank you card from your company with absolutely NOTHING written inside of it and proceeded to ask who he should talk to about gratuity.

We had an awesome experience using Midwest Sound DJ for both our rehearsal dinner/party as well as our wedding reception. Rachel was awesome to talk to, she was super helpful getting everything set up and was always extremely friendly and prompt in her responses. We had the pleasure of working with Mistaki for both back to back nights, and he was a real trooper! Our family and friends are not the easiest people and he helped both nights flow so nicely AND kept the dance floor going both nights, which was really important to us. He was everything we wanted in a DJ. He was friendly and professional, guided guests throughout the night on what was going on and where they needed to be, accommodated requests in a timely fashion and played almost every single song we wanted to hear. My husband and I received lots of compliments on our music and how great our DJ was! We were really glad we did not have someone that was over the top and cheesy. Mistaki seemed to have a really good feel for the level of involvement we wanted him to have and respected that very well. Mistaki was extremely easy to get in touch with prior to our event. He also really took the time to ask us lots of questions in order to give us the correct vibes for both nights which my husband and I really appreciated. Any time we had to speak to any staff members, we found them to be extremely pleasant and helpful. While the online planning tool is slightly outdated, it did help with the ease of getting the event planned. Both my husband and I would highly recommend Midwest sound for any DJ needs you may have, and we would ESPECIALLY recommend using Mistaki as your DJ!! Truly cannot think of a single complaint about him or the company. Thank you Mistaki and Midwest sound!!

Our wedding DJ, Sam, did an awesome job keeping the dance floor packed by playing dance-able songs that everyone loved. We received many comments afterward from guests that they had never seen such a full dance floor at a wedding. My wife and I cannot recommend Midwest Sound enough.

I hired Midwest sound 4 years ago for my daughters wedding. Our DJ was Alex. He was awesome! Professional, super fun, engaging, and kept things going. My son s wedding was this past weekend and we went with Midwest sound again. We requested Alex again. Was just as great as I remember. The guest were still talking about how wonderful the DJ was the next day. A DJ can make or break an event, these guys will Make it every time!!

Dj Ben was fantastic and he read the crowd so well! There were always people on the dance floor and everyone had a fantastic time! We would highly recommend Midwest Sound, the people that worked with us and helped us with everything were amazing and so nice!

Max was our DJ for our June 2nd wedding at Bloom Lake Barn. We discussed details with him over the phone a few days before our wedding and we knew we were in good hands. The day of the wedding he went above and beyond for us! He kept the party lively and fun and our guests had a blast dancing all night long. He was really good at checking in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was going how we wanted it to go. He played all of the songs we wanted and took guest requests which everyone had a lot of fun with. He is a great and friendly DJ and we would definitely recommend him to other couples looking for a fun dance at their wedding!

We had DJ Max at our wedding on August 8th and he was the BEST! He did the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. He went above and beyond beforehand in making sure he understood exactly how the day would run, and communicating his role. DJ Max talked to everyone who would be speaking and made them feel comfortable. He kept the dance floor ALIVE! Guests had the best time on the dance floor! Our venue owners even complimented about how fun DJ Max kept the whole night and how everything flowed amazingly. If you are booking with Midwest Sound, make sure you request DJ Max! You will not be disappointed!

We had Jon as our DJ and honestly was great. He kept the dance floor going all night long and played requests people asked for which really kept the party going. Can t say enough about Jon.

He paid attention to details and continuously was checking in on us, our wedding party, and our guests. He was attentive and entertaining for the children we had in attendance. He interacted with our guests in a professional, friendly and fun way. If we had to do this again we would forsure be requesting Alex(alexander), no question. He will keep your guests engaged in all aspects of the order of events and will keep them on the dance floor all night!
