James was the best. He was confident and led the party perfectly. He wasn't to pushy and was a lot of fun to have around. I got a lot of compliments from guests on how great he was. Thank you James!

Great experience with Emmet. I wasn't able to dance much until closer to the end of the night, I was the bride and kept getting pulled into conversations, but I got so many compliments about him and the music he played. He did a spectacular job during the ceremony and helping to keep things moving during the dinner, speeches and cake. He did so fantastic that my husband decided to give him a tip, my husband rarely tips anyone (usually I have to take care of that) so that is pretty high praise from him! My husband did so much dancing his ankles were swollen the next day, so I know he played good music! Highly recommend Emmet or Kevin who was the DJ at one of our friend's weddings as well.
DJ Ryan was the best!!! Midwest Sound doesn t assign you a DJ until the week of the wedding and that really scared me until DJ Ryan called me. He told me he was more than a DJ and was going to take all the stress I ve had planning the wedding in the last 2 years and put it on him. I did not expect that!! He really was amazing at gathering people, being on a timely schedule, he had great ideas for people clinking glasses, and also included some other surprises we didn t expect. We really liked that DJ Ryan was fun, but not obnoxious. I think filling out the planning forms Midwest Sound provides you as accurately as possible helped Midwest Sound pick the most perfect DJ for us!

My family had heard that this company had done school dances before and had a good review from a friend's wedding. However, we were extremely disappointed with the DJ named Tarik that was sent to do our reception. It was a bad start when the DJ called only two days before the wedding and seemed to not have any idea what songs we had requested and sent to the company many weeks before. I was a little worried but trusted that this man was a professional and was just trying to double check with me.
When the wedding party arrived at the reception hall, the DJ met us at the entrance. My husband and I, along with many members of our bridal party noticed that the DJ looked stoned. He seemed quite confused the entire time we were getting ready to walk in. My husband and I were immediately worried that he would not be able to do his job professionally.
The worst part of the experience with this DJ was that in his speech to get people excited for the bridal party to come in, he said "Let's get this mother effer started." Although this language would not be appropriate for ANYONE's reception, we were even more appalled because we had in attendance 50 children under the age of 13 and had mentioned both in our request form and over the phone about our young crowd.
During dinner, the DJ played music which was too loud and when asked to turn it down was arguing that he knew better. (His speakers were right by some elderly). He was also reported as having told a few of our guests that this was either his first or second time ever DJ-ing an event. During the dance he was rarely next to the booth and did not play songs that were requested and was seen frequently going outside.
Lastly, I felt extremely embarrassed by the DJ when we had our mother son and father daughter dance. We had requested that both pairs would dance to the same song. When it came time for the dance, the DJ introduced only my father and I. So I quickly told him it would also be my mother in law and my husband. Over the microphone he said, "Oh...I guess the mother and son will also dance. I've never seen this done before. We'll see how it goes..."
Overall, my husband and I, along with our families felt embarrassed by this DJ in front of our close family and friends. We were very disappointed in the service that was provided to us by Midwest Sound.

We booked Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment for our October wedding, and they were the perfect choice!! We specifically requested our DJ Steve after seeing him at another wedding and they accommodated our request (though we only found out about 1-2 weeks beforehand when they assign the DJs). Steve was the best DJ/host I have seen at any event ever. He was classy, funny, wise, and ready for everyone to have a good time. Our guests loved him and were chanting his name all night long ("STEVE! STEVE! STEVE! STEVE!") and my maid of honor has already booked him for her own wedding! He was one of the main points of positive feedback from our guests. In addition to Steve, the company overall was easy to work with. They have an online portal where you can request songs to play / maybe play / do not play as well as share general interests and day-of logistics. They make the process easy and our DJ followed all of our requests (except one: he said a prayer before the meal after we asked him not to, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if my relatives put him up to it haha). It was also inexpensive especially because we booked through one of the local wedding fairs. Everyone we interacted with seemed really chill. I highly recommend them. :)
We had the opportunity to have Julius be the DJ for our wedding. He was professional, friendly, and easy to work with all around. He definitely helped make our day special!
Sadly I can only give this company 2 star review. I met them at a wedding fair and they seemed super great in person. I booked them thinking it was going to be easy breezy, I was then sent to their portal to fill out my information. The portal was not very user friendly and there was a list of songs to go through and make a "do not play" list from and I started to scroll through and could have put every song on that list on my "do not play" list. I got freaked out and tried to cancel but they wouldn't give me my deposit back. One of their employees talked me down and assured me that I could compile a list of songs I wanted played at my wedding and that would be the list they would use for the night. My Husband and I sat down and spent HOURS putting together the perfect song list and mix of songs we liked and wanted played at our wedding. We then sent it to the company and even spoke to someone who had received it, they had a few questions on some of the songs but majority of things looked good. Leading up to the wedding day I was getting a little worried because I hadn't heard anything from the company and we were about a month out at this point. I called and they said their DJ's don't get assigned until 2 weeks out from the date and that our DJ would get in contact with us the week of the wedding. I had requested they put a note in my file to call me as soon as my DJ was assigned since I had a handful of questions and details to hash out and I didn't want to be doing that the week of my wedding. The company didn't get ahold of me, I sent a number of emails and left voice mails and their excuse was "They didn't know what happened". 4 days before my wedding we finally got a DJ assigned to us, Reese, who was wonderful! He spoke to me on the phone, answered all my questions and I was excited to meet him on the day of the wedding. The dancing starts at the wedding and its all the stupid songs I DID NOT want played!!! After going up to Reese a few times making request like "dont play any more country, the groom hates country" things got slightly better. Finally after about an hour I had enough and made my Husband go up and ask if him he ever got our song list, and THE COMPANY NEVER GAVE HIM OUR SONG LIST!!!!!!! We had to screen capture if from my phone and text it to him and he was scrambling to see what songs he had that we wanted since he didnt have any time to download any of the songs! He sadly only had one song by my husbands favorite artist and there were a handful of meaningful songs that couldn't get played because he didn't have them ahead of time. For the circumstances Reese did a great job and did the best he could with what had happened but the lack of attention to detail and lack of communication with this company is terrible. I do not recommend them!

Throughout the process Midwest is set in their ways in regards to the timing of communication which can be tough throughout the wedding planning process but they did not disappoint. The reached out with the details and passion right when they said they would and it was smooth sailing. I would recommend Midwest sounds to my closest friends!
We were so happy we found MidWest sound. They were really easy to work with. They provided a stress-free experience for our wedding day everything went so smoothly! We worked with Reese. He was so great to have around and so helpful. The photo booth they provided was a big hit with our guests!
We hired Midwest sound for our wedding back in September and it was an awesome experience! Wedding planning is stressful but Midwest made it so easy! We had our first meeting discussing our likes and interest, they paired us with an awesome DJ from the results, and gave us access to an easy online portal that allowed us to create & edit a song list & come up with an order of events for our DJ. We were paired with DJ Javen and he was awesome! He called us a few days before the wedding to go over what we had down in the portal & to double check everything! He played all the music we loved and was so lenient and understanding when the order of events was changed a bit. He checked in on us to make sure everything was still going to plan & to make sure we were happy! And we 100% were! Thank you Midwest sound and DJ Javen!!
DJ Tony was TERRIBLE!!! He was extremely disrespectful to the wedding party and the guests at the reception. During the garter auction, he only asked 1 of the 3 bidders if they had cash and then kicked him out of the auction. But the winner paid with a check anyway! He also spent the entire night begging for 5 stars on his review. How about you just do a good job and let your performance speak for itself. I would NEVER attend a wedding dance again if he was the DJ. If it was possible to give him a negative star, I would have!
Hired Midwest to DJ at my wedding last weekend. Their rate for the entire night was absolutely affordable and priced perfect. Shawn was not only set-up and ready to go...he kept the crowd entertained, dancing and directed the evening with 100% class. Was very professional....very good communication with me during the evening -- and being it was Halloween....he absolutely mastered the theme of the night as well. Definitely a five and them some star performance from Shawn and defiantly recommend MWS and Shawn to liven up a wedding. Thanks guys...you made our evening SPOOKTACULAR! --Rob and Jen

Ben was amazing. He was professional but easy going and accommodating, he was patient with us as we made a last minute change to our wedding party announcements. Our wedding was on a Sunday and a lot of our guests left early leaving just a few close friends and my wedding party. Ben happily stuck around for us and we had a blast.

We booked Midwest Sound, DJ Ryan, for our February 2020 wedding. He was nothing short of AMAZING!!! When we had our pre-wedding phone call, to discuss our wants for the ceremony and reception, he was thorough in explaining how things would work and also eased my mind that songs would be played at the right time (and they were!). We had a different ceremony set up, due to my dad breaking his leg, which made me think that the timing of songs could be difficult, but Ryan made it seamless! Our dance was my favorite part!!! He had people on filled on the dance floor all night long. I had told him my request was to change songs if he felt not enough people were out there (even if the song was only 20 seconds in...I mean who likes to watch a dead dance floor). He did exactly that, and made the whole night enjoyable for everyone! All the genres I asked for, were played. But, the part of the night that really made me want to write this review and make sure Ryan gets a raise, is the final thing he did that evening; he played the song we originally wanted for our first dance, but last minute changed our mind...the song was also so incredibly special to us and. He announced it over the microphone as the "last dance for the bride and groom"...he then arranged everyone in a circle around my husband and I as we danced, they all swayed in a circle (there was only about 15 people left by the very end of the night as we had a small wedding). It was such a magical night! I thank Midwest Sound for their fair pricing and incredible performance from DJ Ryan. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I referred you guys to my cousins, they're now using you for their 2021 wedding!

Midwest Sound was able to fit our wedding in at almost the last minute when our original DJ flaked on us. They were able to get the songs that they didn't have in their song list for us as well. Our DJ Matt was absolutely amazing and helped keep us on track all night with all the chaos. If I had to do it again I would definitely choose these guys!
I can't say enough good things about Midwest Sound and our DJ Greg K! Greg was very professional, made last minute announcements when we needed them, and kept people on the dance floor all night long! He also provided entertaining music selections during the coctail hour and throughout dinner. My husband and I, along with our guests were very pleased with Greg!
Initially choosing a DJ seemed like an overwhelming task, but when we ran into Midwest Sound online, it seemed like a good fit. Now, post-wedding, I can guarantee that they were perfect for us! They were running a promo so we got the DJ for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception for a great price. We also added a photobooth for a few hours, which our guests loved!
We had John as our DJ. He called me the week of the wedding to ensure that he had all of the details right. He did a great job of reading the room and was very responsive to my needs as well as my husbands. He stuck to the playlist that we gave him for the most part & made sure that the guests were happy with the music that was playing. We didn't have one moment where there weren't people on the dance floor.
John B was the DJ at our wedding last week. Phenomenal! He called us the week of the wedding to ask a few questions and solidify all information. He provided the music for our ceremony and it went perfectly. He was always there and ready if I had a spur of the moment song request and our dance floor was packed the whole night. I would hire this company and John B over and over again. Our night was perfect!
We hired Midwest Sound for our wedding in August 2019. Zac was our DJ. He did an outstanding job! We would highly recommend requesting Zac from Midwest Sound for weddings. We did not get his last name, but he was very tall. That may be the best way to request him. Zac must be almost 7' tall!
Zac did an amazing job with everything from announcing the the Grand March entrance into the reception to the last song of the night. He was very engaged throughout the night, and by the end of the evening everyone was commenting on how great of a DJ we had.

Amanda was our wedding DJ and she did an amazing job! The DJ was the biggest thing we were nervous about for our wedding, as we wanted to keep people dancing. We had nothing to worry about - Amanda played a great mix of music to get people on the dance floor. We talked the week before the wedding about any specific requests we had of her and about our vision for the night and she nailed it. She also did our ceremony music and it went perfectly. We had an amazing experience with Midwest Sound and DJ Kwao!! From the start they were attentive to our needs and worked with us to make our day everything we hoped for. They negotiated a very reasonable price with us and were happy to schedule a DJ a bit early for us (usually they wait until about a week before) so that we could meet with him before our event. They also helped us to get speaker extensions so that the music could be played outside during the cocktail hour and inside for dinner and dancing without needing two set-ups. Choosing our songs was easy, and DJ Kwao was happy to play all the custom music we asked for. We had a multicultural wedding with a lot of our own music and a lot of special little things added. DJ Kwao was awesome! He played all the music we gave him while also mixing in requests from the guests. We had a very diverse crowd, and he kept the dance floor full the entire time. What's more, he was friendly, sociable, and nice to everyone. I can't tell you how many people have said what an awesome DJ he was. We couldn't have asked for it to go any better.

I was the personal attendant at a wedding this last weekend. I worked very closely with DJ Alex, and he was AMAZING. He has the perfect personality for entertainment, and he knows how to read the crowd. All everyone could say the whole night was how you can definitely tell he loves what he does, and it's so true. Christian was AMAZING! He went above and beyond for us. My husband had an amazing time hearing all of his favorite songs multiple times. The dance floor was full all night. We could not have gotten assigned a better DJ. He kept checking in through the night making sure things were going good and if he could help with anything. He was perfect!
In August, I had a party that Austin from Midwest Sound dj'd. From the first phone call until the very end of the party, their professionalism and thoughtfulness floored me. Austin made sure to reach me a few days before the party to get a feel for what type of event I was having (i.e. what kind of music the attendees would like), where to park and to get organized. He showed up early to get set up and was all ready to go before the event was scheduled to start. I really enjoyed working with them and would highly recommend them for any upcoming event that you have!!!
Our DJ Ben was fantastic! He did music for our ceremony and reception and our guests were so pleased. We got compliments all night about how great the music choices were and people were asking us did you create this playlist? and we said nope, just an awesome DJ! He did a great job announcing everything, took special requests from us throughout the night, and we could not have done it without him! Cannot recommend enough. Everything was so smooth and we had a fantastic evening.

I worked as day-of coordinator at an event with John B as the DJ. He did a fantastic job! He was organized and responsive leading up to the wedding day, and friendly to speak with. On the wedding day, he arrived on time and was prepared with everything he needed to set-up. He handled sound for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner with very smooth transitions. And then the dance!! It is clear that John loves music and cares about what he is playing. The transitions between songs were great, the music selections went over well with the crowd and the kept the dance floor energized for the entire duration of the dance. I heard many people comment on how much they enjoyed his style and the energy he brought to the party. I'd love to work with John again!
MIMI WAS AMAZING! She had all of our guest on the dance floor for sharing a special moment with a slow song & then also for jumping around and dancing for hours!!! Everyone at our wedding was raving about awesome she was, even my event manager at the venue told me that all the workers at the venue enjoyed her! Emmet was our DJ for our wedding night and he was phenomenal! He played the style of music we asked for and was very positive the entire night. With Alex you don t just get a DJ, you get an event coordinator. We needed music for the ceremony as well and Alex took the time to talk to the officiant, photographers, caterer, special entertainers and cake cutters so that everything coordinated perfectly. He went above and beyond when he changed into costume and went into character to become a true part of our daughter and son-in-law s themed wedding. The night s event schedule was communicated by announcements so that guests knew what was coming next. His interaction with everyone, even on the dance floor, was phenomenal. It was so nice to be able to relax and celebrate knowing Alex had everything taken care of. What a wonderful relief since our original DJ plans didn t end up working out and we pulled this part together in one month. So many guests kept asking where we got our DJ and said it was the best they had ever seen. Thank you Alex for playing a huge part in making our bride and groom s special day a perfect one.
We had Scott as our DJ, and he did an amazing job! We asked for a mix of current hits and older songs that everybody would enjoy, and he did that perfectly! The dance floor was full all night! He was involved just the right amount: enough to get people excited, but not enough to be annoying! We had multiple people afterwards ask who our DJ was because they liked him so much. Thanks Scott!
Our whole process with Midwest sounds was fantastic from start to finish. we got an amazing DJ who absolutely killed it! He was awesome at reading the crowd and playing all the songs we had asked for. I would definitely go with them again!
I was very excited to for this DJ after my conversations on the phone. I requested a very outgoing and active DJ who would get the party started. Our DJ was a very, very nice guy. However, he hardly said a word during the dance. He didn't get people dancing. I've worked at weddings for years and if the crowd isn't dancing the DJ needs to play a game or the hokey pokey or something but that didn't happen. We requested the Polka be played and that didn't happen. He did, however, let the kids come up and hang out with him while he was working. He allowed them to stand with him and I think they even pressed buttons. He was so great with them and patient. To me, that earned him a tip and a thank you. He was also great about playing the songs we would request and always willing to take suggestions on what to do next. I think our DJ would have been wonderful for another couple but I believe the company sent the wrong guy to our wedding.
They were easy to work with, adjusted seamlessly when we had to reschedule due to covid, our DJ Neil MacArthur was excellent. He checked in with everyone involved to make sure everyone had everything they need and things were announced at the right times. He adjusted the music to fit our more laid back personalities and got great reviews from guests.
Emmet was the best wedding DJ I have ever experienced! He was personable and fun but no over the top or obnoxious. We kept the crowd on the dance floor for the entire reception. I cannot say enough good things about him and I will recommend him to anyone I know!
We were severely disappointed with our DJ Matt. He called a week ahead of time and stumbled through all the information and did not exude a strong DJ personality. He made sure to mention the tip envelope Midwest provides and suggested how much we should tip him before the reception and then he made sure to mention it when we showed up for the start of the reception.
The first problem occurred when I had to take time out of our cocktail hour and talking to people to re-go over the lineup of our wedding party for the grand march since he had it all messed up - not something the bride should have to worry about. Then he played the WRONG song for the march! I was afraid he would play the wrong first dance song so I had to confirm that he was confident he was going to play the right one. He did not play the majority of the songs we worked so hard on in our Music Planner. We heard a lot of feedback that the songs he played were too slow and he didn't engage people at the beginning. He didn't interact with the crowd. It was his job to follow our timeline, starting with the first dance. We had lost track of time because we were busy talking to people and it was his job to coordinate the timing we had gone over to have the first dance at a certain time. He approached me 45 minutes later and asked if we wanted to do our first dance. He barely announced it, so very few people were watching. He got better at the end of the night because everyone was going straight up to him and telling him exactly which songs to play -- we would have been better off getting an iPod and playing it straight off of that. Sorely disappointed and would never recommend Midwest Sound.
DJ Alex with Midwest Sound did an INCREDIBLE job at our wedding reception on 10/8/16. He ran the show better than I could have imagined - he made sure to get mine and my husband's requests in and then did his own thing the rest of the night. People were constantly out on the dance floor! He also played along SO WELL with our first dance - being that it was a surprise mix for our guests. I am SO HAPPY with DJ Alex. Planning with Midwest Sound was very easy as well - and they are very reasonable priced for what you get in their packages :)
DJ Max was a master behind the soundboard for our wedding reception. He kept the night moving forward from the grand entrance to the first dances to the final song and was sure to check in with us multiple times throughout the evening. We were able to request songs ahead of time through the online booking platform. DJ Max masterfully mixed those songs in with other great numbers that kept us dancing. Without any advance notice, he was even able to add in Russian pop songs requested by our guests. He read the energy of the room wonderfully, capping off a magical day with an unforgettable night.
We had DJ Neva for our 1920s themed wedding and she was fantastic! We enjoyed her mix of big band, 90s music and later on in the night more modern dance hits. I did think it was a bit unsettling that we had to wait until the week of our wedding to find out who our DJ was going to be so I'm thankful we got someone we requested. I also thought it odd that Midwest Sound ask if we'd like to leave a tip with our final payment before we knew who the DJ was or if we were satisfied with their service.
Perviously had a bad experience with a specific DJ but was delighted to have management handle the situation very well! This company really cares about their customers :)
Midwest sound was super easy to work with! Their online client portfolio allows you to plan your whole night. We ended up having 8 inches of snow on our wedding day, and they had no problem on making it to the wedding and making sure our night was perfect! I would highly recommend this company!
We had DJ Alex and his assistant perform our wedding and they did such an amazing job!! They kept the dance floor going all night and people had such a blast. They also did such a great job keeping the schedule in order and listening to everything planned or when we would give requests. I would highly recommend to anyone else! Very great DJ company for an affordable price!! When people were not on the dance floor, he was so it made it so much more fun! He had so much energy and you can tell he loves his job because he is awesome at it!!

My husband and I used Midwest Sound for our wedding ceremony and reception!
These guys were the only DJ service that actually answered my phone call when I was looking for a DJ to hire. They were super helpful right from the start. Their website is pretty easy to navigate. And we got an awesome price! I asked our DJ to do some nontraditional wedding ideas and he went over his DJ expectations! The music sounded great! Our DJ Flyin' Ryan did everything we asked of him and more! Thank you so much!

We recently got married and used Midwest Sound for our ceremony and reception. We had DJ Max and he was absolutely amazing. Very attentive, and the timing of the ceremony was great. Wouldn't change a thing and would hire him again in a heartbeat!

I was blown away by our experience with Midwest Sound. I had never hired a DJ before, so we had no idea what to expect. From the first e-mail, their customer service was top notch. Their prices are competitive, and we received a discount for having a Friday evening wedding. Our DJ, Zac, was incredible. He called me to confirm details, gave me his phone number in case I had questions, and helped us really flush out our music list. He was even gracious enough to take a phone call from me at 9:30 p.m. the night before my wedding when I was second guessing our Recessional song!
I was so impressed by Midwest Sound. If I ever have another event requiring DJ services, they are the first company I will contact!
My wife and I would definitely suggest DJ Max from Midwest Sound. Very professional and very fun. The entire reception went flawless due to his work. He had a great playlist, he was interactive with our guests, and went out of his way to make sure things were going the way WE wanted. He made everything effortless for us. I attended a wedding that used this company for their DJ. The DJ was completely unprepared and couldn t have tried harder to do everything wrong.This company is terrible. Their customer service is also terrible. Do not recommend.
I hired Midwest Sound for our wedding day ceremony and reception. I filled out a questionnaire and talked to our DJ a few days beforehand to confirm all the details. I got a call the night before saying that our DJ was sick and they were sending a different one. This made me a little nervous, but ultimately, our sub did an AWESOME job. The only thing that went awry was our processional - the timing was off - which I can t blame on the DJ, himself. I don t even know if it s possible, but it would have been sweet if he could have DJ d the song so it lasted a bit longer, but it s OK. The dance floor was busy, literally, all night. Everyone had a great time at the reception.
JD did an amazing job with lighting. It thoroughly made the event look magical. In addition, he is wonderful to work with.
If I could give one hundred stars I would Alex was the best dj I have ever seen so helpful caring and made our day go so smooth even with a couple hiccups he helped to make it one of the most memorable day ever for everyone I got so many compliments on how helpful and enteraining even with switch midflight he made it work I think he presented our wedding and reception in the most awesome way I would recommend Alex to everyone I know he energy is awesome and he kept the dance floor rocking and Alison was very helpful in the planning of it all

I knew I was going to love her from our first phone call and we even pre-tipped her just for that experience alone. She read the crowd, kept the guest moving and dancing--she was phenomenal and we got compliments on the great DJ all night and into the following weeks!

DJ Toni was absolutely amazing! She played the perfect mix of songs and we never wanted to leave the dance floor! Beyond that, she was personable and had every detail of the event under control. We could not have asked for a better DJ! Multiple guests have asked us how we found her and we re always happy to recommend Midwest Sound (especially DJ Toni).
Horrible service I felt so bad for the bride and groom the dj we do unprofessional would not play requested songs was very boring with his announcements mummbled them was hard to hear could not understand him just a bad service all around!! The wedding was April 7th I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!
I've photographed weddings for 10 years and have seen the good the bad and the ugly. Recently I worked with Mistaki. He was so curteous and professional. He was always making sure I was ready for the moments he was announcing. He was attentive to the couple's needs. Best of all he kept the dance floor PACKED!
Alex was our DJ and he was super funny and amazing. He even danced with our guests! Everyone has been saying how much they loved him. Make sure you get the photobooth! It was a huge hit and a favorite from our guests!!!

Midwest Sound was the DJ for our wedding. We had DJ Max and he was amazing! He knew how to read the crowd and us myself and my husband (and of course our guests) on the dance floor all night! He was great to work with coordinating our ceremony music, grand entrance, speeches and much more! I would highly recommend.
I was unsure about a dj service that was all online, but Midwest Sound DJ was amazing! not only were they flexible with last minute changes, but gave us amazing deals for the services we wanted! DJ Max was AMAZING!! he listen to everything I asked for and delivered!! He kept us on schedule and made everything flow so well. We had Cesar as our DJ at our wedding and we couldn't be happier with his services. We were really impressed with how well he listened to us with regard to what we wanted his role to be during the reception, and he did everything he could to make the evening special for us. We booked Midwest Sound for our wedding (ceremony and reception) this past June. Every time I called with a question someone always answered the phone and provided great customer service and were quick to reply. Our DJ (DJ Alex) was above and beyond AMAZING! He ran back and forth from the parking lot to the chapel to provide umbrellas to our guests. He communicated with everyone making sure every detail of our big day was going smoothly and to plan. He also helped refill snacks at the bar and offered to grab drinks for guests. I do not think our day would have been as perfect if it wasn't for Alex. Our guests still talk about how amazing our DJ was and how impressed they were with him. Many guests are asking for his info so they can book him for their wedding. So happy and thankful we booked Midwest Sound and DJ Alex for our wedding!
Our DJ Terry was a pleasure to work with! She had everything running like clockwork. We had nothing to worry about while she was here! And her taste in music is fantastic.

We had a great experience with Midwest Sound. Getting all of the information to them was easy and they were very accommodating. Our DJ Steve called a few days before the wedding to clarify some details and talking to him was great, it wasn't just that he clearly had the music in hand but also he was very positive, which is something worth its weight in gold when you are in the middle of chaotic wedding planning. The event was great all our guests had a fun time, and Steve even got out on the dance floor to teach some steps! I cannot recommend them enough!
Our DJ was awful. He didn t play the entire time we paid for, he didn t accept guest requests unless the bride asked him personally, he played songs that weren t on our list, he asked us for extra money, he came to the bride with multiple problems, he didn t smile, he sat on his phone.... I did reach out to Midwest Sound, but the reason for this review is because their communication was awful. I had to contact them multiple times after they said they would get back to me but didn t. It took about two months to come to a resolution and in my opinion after all that trouble the only thing that would ve prevented this review was a full refund which obviously isn t possible. Please be cautious with this company!
I had no problems with this company leading up to my wedding. They were pleasant to work with and affordable. The DJ called me a couple days before the wedding and went over details. Everything was good...until the actual night of my wedding. DJ Matt was not impressive at all. He gave us rules to follow when talking into the mic and came off very rude to my party. During the speeches my maid of honor didn t hold the mic close enough and he came up and forced it closer to her mouth. I had multiple guests say it seemed really rude. During the reception he didn t take any requests from guests. He didn t interact at all and honestly he should probably look into being a funeral director. He rushed my bouquet toss and didn t even seem to be happy to be there. I still had a good night because my party and friends ensured we had good time even though music was blah. Now be mindful that with this company it s the luck of draw on which DJ you get...so I guess I got unlucky. Also I suppose maybe I wasn t as detailed in my forms as I should have been. It is what is it I guess.
Pros: Great price, easy to work with company, DJ showed up on time & played the correct songs, DJ was friendly & asked us questions when she had them.
Cons: Can't pick your DJ, didn't know who it was until 4 days before. DJ was SO quiet half of our guests couldn't hear her. Not sure if she was new, but she seemed almost shy...
I'm not necessarily giving her a bad review, it was just a bit of a bummer.
Cannot recommend Midwest Sound enough. The DJ, Steve, was outstanding, not just for the music but he ran the reception.. all the speeches, dances, etc... kept the energy level up and people having fun! Was very responsive to requests. Thank you!
Overall our experience with Midwest Sound was great!! We used them for our wedding in September in southern MN. Leading up to the wedding, they were very easy to work with and their planning form was helpful. Our DJ, Josh, called us the week of to finalize the plans. Josh was fantastic the day of the wedding! He arrived on time and got everything set up for the ceremony. The ceremony and cocktail hour music went smoothly and just as planned. Josh kept us on schedule and made the necessary announcements throughout the night, but wasn't over the top and really just stuck to making sure everyone enjoyed the dance. He got the dance floor off to a phenomenal start! He followed to our list of requests/songs to avoid, but also picked songs that he knew would keep the crowd going. He also checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy with how it was going. Everyone had such a blast dancing we were all exhausted by the end of the night! We would highly recommend Josh!! The only downfall we saw to Midwest sound was that they charge for additional microphones. They provide 1 cord mic for the ceremony, but otherwise if you have a vocalist and/or instrumentalist that needed microphones and aren't located next to the officiant then you need to pay for more microphones. You also need to pay for a cordless microphone if you want one for speeches. Other than that, we were very happy with their services!
Alexander did a phenomenal job at our wedding! We have received numerous compliments from guests saying that he was the best wedding DJ that they have seen! My husband and I would have to agree! He was professional, kind, and kept the party going! He also went out of his way to hand out programs, find important guests we needed, and had us laughing non-stop! A few of my close friends even asked if he was my wedding coordinator. He went above and beyond what we expected and made our day flawless! I would highly recommend Alexander and Midwest Sound for your wedding and other events. You will not be disappointed.
We had Reiley as a Dj for my wedding. He was absolutely amazing! He played all of our songs and knew exacty what we wanted along with keeping the energy going. My wife and I are very happy to have him as a dj for our special day!
I have used Midwest Sound for a couple of receptions and a wedding. Our DJ Austin did a great job with his music choices were spot on! He had the dance floor full all night. I would definitely use Austin and Midwest Sound again.

His ability to take the intricate technicalities of our ceremony and incorporate them was beyond impressive. He fit perfectly with our personalities and made our wedding day at Bunker Hills that much more amazing!
