I finally received my money after posting a negative review here. Mexpro's response below does not make me feel better about the company as it does NOT highlight what actually occurred with communication. Yes, I was told I would receive an extra credit (has not shown up yet, was told 2-10 days), but the implication that I was irresponsible in not taking transfirsts phone calls PISSES me off. I SPOKE WITH TRANSFIRST, MEXPRO AND MY CREDIT UNION FOR SEVERAL DAYS ON MY OWN TIME BEFORE I REFUSED TO SPEAK WITH YOU ANY LONGER. I had made a dispute with my credit union and because of the personal stress this situation had caused, I trusted them to handle it for me since I was experiencing such a lack of professionalism. If you want to point blame at someone for this review, I suggest you sit down with your account manager Alicia Tessune who gave up on me and sent me to Transfirst BLINDLY to figure it out on my own. DO NOT BLAME ME OR MY CREDIT UNION. I am DONE. Please STOP contacting me. The issue is resolved as far as I'm concerned and I would like to move on.
(Original review) Affordable insurance? Yes. But that is about the only positive thing I can say about MexPro. I bought a policy from them, and was then charged TWO more times for the same policy. Upon trying to be refunded, I was told that they had experienced an error with their bank and all of their other clients had been refunded within 10 business days. I was not. They said their records showed a refund to my account. There was none. They gave me the run around for 5 days (even tried to blame MY credit union), and finally tried to pawn me off to their bank. Their bank was confused why I, a cardholder, was contacting them as they only deal with their merchants. They (translink) were even surprised at the lack of professionlism I was experiencing with MexPro. They gave me a trace # I.D to give to my bank. THE NUMBER DID NOT EXIST. I filed a dispute against Mexpro with my bank. I will not be insuring with them again.

The price is wonderful as is the convenience of ordering insurance from home and not having to stop along the way to the border. My only complaint is that the process of going from quote to purchase is redundant and confusing. Otherwise, great site. We've used it multiple times.

Straight forward, easy to understand policy and coverage. Cost is reasonable for this legally required coverage by the Mexican government. People who choose to ignore the need and drive without insurance are risking their freedom and vehicle in even a minor fender bender. Be prudent and buy it!

We have used Mexpro for several years. Their service has been second to none. Talk about your worst nightmare. We were in Mexico for "medical tourism". My wife had surgery and there were major complications!
Her hospitalization was extended (and our Mexpro policy would lapse) I am hyper sensitive about Mexican insurance as a good friend did not have RV insurance and was the driver in a traffic accident where a Mexican citizen was killed near Cancun. My friend (in his early 70's)
was sent to jail until the investigation was completed. My friend spent over two weeks in a Mexican jail until the authorities determined he was not at fault. I will not drive a mile in Mexico without insurance. So I was in Mexico with lapsing insurance and no easy internet access. I called Alex at Mexpro and explained the situation. In five minutes Alex had us covered and e mailed the policy paperwork to my cell phone. What a superstar! I used Sanborn's and other competitors years ago. If you want quality coverage; an excellent value; and five star service you will find Mexpro is your answer

We have used Mexpro for several years. Their service has been second to none. Probably 98% of the time I purchase the policy online. Recently I got a call from my wife s doctor s office in Juarez Mexico. They wanted to see her that afternoon. Getting a policy with same day coverage can be a challenge. I got my policy in e mail and there was a typing error. I called Mexpro and explained the situation. I spoke with David Crawford. In a matter of ten minutes David canceled the policy with the typing error and had a new correct policy in my e mail. Glitches rarely happen with Mexpro yet when they do it is reassuring that people like David Crawford can fix the problem in a matter of minutes not hours. Try to get that kind of service from the auto insurance companies who advertise on your TV every evening

If you are considering driving in Mexico without car insurance; please take one minute and read this:

Serving my Mexican Insurance needs since 2008, when I moved to Baja full time. The web site is really easy to use. I have renewed my policy on-line many times. And have printed out the policy for my files and my car. The staff is courteous and helpful. Not having to use the insurance, and I hope I will never, I feel well protected in my daily travels in Mexico. Viva Mexpro!!

Canadian snowbirds are finding the cost of travelling to Mexico prohibitive because of vehicle insurance. If you check with RV parks in the US there has been a significant decline this last year in Canadians travelling south. Because of the cost of Mexican insurance, people are also now reconsidering there plans for going to Mexico next year. We only go to Mexico for three months or less but we are forced to buy coverage for 6 months. Comparing our insurance costs at home with your policy, it is twice as high as we pay at home and has less coverage. Why do you not at least offer 3 month coverage and don't say the underwriters would oppose it? Don't kill the Golden Goose. Regards

I have been buying insurance from this company for many years and have fortunately never needed it. On my last trip to Mexico I was hit by a drunken local. Luckily nobody was injured and we were able to drive our car home safely. Since then, it has been nothing short of a nightmare in trying to get any help with our claim. Emails not responded to, phone calls unanswered or a never ending cycle of being on hold (and never speaking to a human) or menu options that go nowhere. The few times someone has answered when they realized I don't speak Spanish I was simply hung up on. I paid for this service/policy, it turns out it is worthless. If I could give zero stars I would. At this point I feel that the business model is to push you off until you give up, go away and they don't have to pay out a claim. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

We buy insurance regularly through this site. Even though I "log in," I am never able to buy or get a quote without being logged out again -- so none of my information appears automatically. It all has to be re-entered.

Everybody that I dealt with at Mexpro was super helpful and professional! I usually have a lot of questions regarding coverage and what I am getting with insurance, especially since my wife and I were planning a trip throughout the remote areas on the Baja peninsula on our dual-sport motorcycles. They were able provide meaningful coverage for us for the bikes and set us up with health insurance as well. Fortunately we didn't need to use the insurance, but they pointed out the best numbers to call and process should we have needed to so that we were prepared for our trip These guys will be my only call for insurance for future Mexico trips. Thanks!

We travel to Mexico at least once or twice each year and have used MexPro to get our auto insurance each time. No hassle, good prices, easy to take care of, and it provides the peace of mind that we are covered while we are there.
