One of the gems of Hamra street, reminiscent of the golden age of that area. Cozy seating area, brilliant performances and a hip lounge area
Great place to go and lovely theatre shows with Beautiful people, helpful stuf.. Very big alcohol collection i recommended
One of the best places to hangout in Beirut... Loved the shows playing there ... Better to reserve online though
Ideal for outings in box. Personally, I had a crazy night. The DJs were at the top.
I love the place.
It presents very intresting, rare, magical movies.
This place deserves to be visited
No AC. I could hardly breath. Although the ambiance is great.
An amazing experience. Smoking is prohibited inside.
This was some show. It started light heartedly, with familiar songs and funny stunts that perplexed me. I was trying to find a common thread, a point, really. But it all came together at the end, with the final song. The handicapped fiddler rises, like a Phoenix, from the wheelchair and plays a long dirge, a monody that resonates with your tears. Then they all break into it; El ataba gzaz wl sillem naylon. The step is made of glass and the ladder of nylon. The way they sombrely sang it, as in a funeral precession, with the crack down on the demonstrations in the background, you couldn't miss what it was about. How precarious. How fragile is the situation. Boy, I'll never hear that song in the same way ever again.
Old. The nice old. Still has of the authentic cultural aspect of Beirut before the war. Needs some renovation. But the houses some nice shows of the city. They do serve food and beverage as well were the prices are on the higher side. Recommended.
Very nice casual and causy theatre for Arabic plays and music
Metro has a great cultural and enthusiastic atmosphere; it is a good place to spend your eve
"And what went on Kuzit" of the deepest plays and most influential in the conscience of the horror of the terrible experience and injustice of the great drama presented to him
lovely oriental local and international music, lovely croud and good vibes
No doubt that the show and location will take you back to the golden age of Hamra street. The hidden away bar/theater will definitely surprise you by what it presents. Watched the Bar Farouk show which is a light hearted trip through cabaret life of Beirut from the 30s to 70s. The 2 plus hour show is very attractive at times..but could loose its audience at others. The actors/singers are very talented. Had a really good time and its very much recommended, but I wouldn't watch it again.
professional, funny, new, distinguished, highly recommended
Great venue. A bit tight seating, but it makes for a cozy atmosphere. They have cool band and events running over the week.
The place is very nice and friendly. They spend very interesting shows. I recently saw Hichik Bichik, a marvel.
Fun night out. Decent menu and service. You get what you pay for.
Excellent show and lovely venue.
It is reminiscent of old Beirut, old Havana at that. The food and drink offerings we're good, a bit cramped space but that's part of the charm, no?
Regardless will visit again when the opportunity arises
A little pricy, but always has a great selection of shows
Places like this are extinct long time ago .this is rare.
Although i really enjoy their selection of shows , i was very disappointed from my customer care experience there. I had an invitations for a show i could not make it on that day i called to ask 3 times or more to reschedule she never gave a clear answer. Promised to call back and never did ... such a shame they do not care whatsoever i end up missing it and never used them ... i regularly used to go watch there
A vibrant venue that plays host to shows and plays befitting any taste. Metro stands as testament to the fact that Beirut is a super drivers place and is a frontrunner in pushing the boundaries of stage art.
Joy Fayad was amazing. The sound system was horrible
Best place in Beirut. Different crowd different music everything is perfect. The most progressive pub in Lebanon
Well the show we watched was really nice but the place is very dirty. Needs renovation and some serious ventilation.
The smell of old cigarettes and humidity is too much.
The service used to be unfriendly but it has improved drastically. On the other hand their shows have always been top caliber. Very pocket friendly drinks and food!
Unique outing idea with unique shows, in the heart of hamra
Metro Al Madina and Madina Theatre are the Art Hubs in Hamra
Hosting incredible one of a kind shows, this place is unique for its theme and ambiance. The drinks are priced similarly to other pubs.
Hishek bishek show is a must even if you don't speak the language. The music, crowd engagement and actors will have you enjoy a great night out.
The only comment I can give is that they should respect time... Shows that start at 8 actually start at 8:30 if not 8:45!!
Awesome theatre/cabaret bar. Such a joy to find this in the Middle East.
Nice atmosphere and great crowd. Also the bar is cool and friendly.
Great ambience, history in every corner, you'd be sitting where people sat during the golden days and golden shows of Hamra & Lebanon, I'd do it again definitely.
Lovely place, must visit on Fridays or Saturdays. Till 5 am.
Beautiful show, liked the place, just the chairs not comfortable
A blast from the past.. underground bar and theatre
