I would not recommend this bank for a credit card. The apr is higher than most competitors, card gets locked by fraud department for no reason. Then when you call, plan to be put on hold for over 15 minutes than put back on hold for another 15 minutes only to be disconnected.
They canceled card because I haven't used for awhile. It dropped my credit score. Always paid on time. Don't bother with Merrick. Go with a company that appreciates long term relationships and good customers.
I have never had an issue with the bank, their policies or their staff. The experience has always professional.
Interest rate is a bit high, but it is expected.
Have their credit card late on payment and set up auto pay even though pandemic and still wont work with me, asked to pay off all at once and would only knock $50 off the total

But after what happen and why MERRICK bank closed my account cause of payment issues and kept my security deposit I don t recommend anyone getting this card They never told me nor got any thing or reason why they closed it. I didn t even have the card 3 months if your looking for a secured card go thru capital one or open sky. Better service and better understanding. I used my checking account to pay my payments when I got paid and they got returned there for they closed it after I paid over the phone and they still closed it and kept my security deposit After I told them what happen they didn t want to fix it nor help me I thought they were a good company and now they closed it for no reason but their own don t use this company
So I'm reading all of these dreadful reviews and after 3 times dealing with them they gave me nothing but respect and I was able to get though in under a minute all 3 times. I needed to move my date to accommodate my pay date...done. I asked for a credit limit raise and that was done. I pay my bills every month and have never had 1 issue with this card. Someone mentioned the rate being high? You wouldn't have this card if you didn't have a credit situation and you should be glad they are helping you rebuild yours. So, I would TOTALLY recommend them if your trying to get your credit going, I pay mine off every month so I don't care if they have a high rate because I never let it have a balance on the billing cycle.
This bank solicits you for loans with very high interest rates. I would avoid them at all costs. Not to mention their extremely high fees. Not worth it.
My experience with Merrick Bank in Utah. I purchased a recreational loan for a camper thru them in 2017. I decided to pay off the remaining balance of $4,000.00 on September 8, 2020. I was told it takes 3 weeks for the title. It is now October 20, 2020. I have a buyer for the camper and no title. I called multiple times. The have not called me back. I been hung up on. Marla is the supervisor at Merrick Bank s title department. I left a message on Marla s phone. NO RESPONSE!!!! I have a buyer for the camper and I can t sell with out a TITLE. This establish should not be in business for the way they treat people. The banking reps are rude and disrespectful to the customer. All I want is the TITLE! If they took my $4,000.00 And I waited more than 3 weeks from 09/08/20 to 10/20/20, that to me is POOR SERVICE!!!!!
Do NOT USE THIS BANK. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. THEY ARE A SCAM. BEWARE
