Misleading Pet Policy: Meridian Group advertises this pertaining to several of their rental properties: "Small pets allowed". In reality, only 1 small pet is allowed. I passed every background check for several of this company's apartments, only to be turned down because I have 2 pets. I have clearly stated up front on every rental application that I have 2 pets. Yet, this somehow always gets overlooked until I am offered an apartment. Then I am turned down because I have 2 pets. The company website needs to be changed to show the truth: "Small pet allowed". A complete waste of time trying to rent from this company. Thumbs down.

When I first rented at a capital centre, the staff was pleasant. It started to go down hill from there. One three residents came to management and said I sent text messages claiming I threatened their lives they believed them over me. I do not know how to send fake texts with fake numbers. As a result of not being heard and framed I got kicked out. After getting angry as a result of being framed I lost my cool and left a bunch of voicemails on management office machine. One of which I threatened harmed to management, which I regret to this day. The first case got dismissed and the second case I am going through the First Offenders Program. Do to the voicemails I am now banned for life from the building.
Every winter after first snow, the snow removal company at fisher taft apartments or Quaker housing pushes all the lots snow in front of my driveway and on my property blocking my driveway and sidewalk. Every single winter. It happens on a Sunday and nobody can be reached to help me or clear it. I got hold of someone at meridian group and there was nothing she could do for me . Really? At least lie to someone and say you ll contact maintenance. How hard is it to alert snow removal to not puke snow in front of my driveway? Luckily a kind soul with a plow saw me crying and trying to dig out the ice boulders with my plastic shovel and removed it. Otherwise my car would be trapped in my driveway for days until someone over there fixed the problem.
1 year in capital center has been a healthy experience. After living in the dregs of the madison rental market I am very grateful for this safe quiet social environment in the of downtown. The staff is proactive and empathetic. We are one big family. Food donations from fresh market twice weekly are much appreciated. WiFi was just installed that improves the quality of life. Have it your way quiet time in your apartment or a social life whenever you choose. Thanks Meridian staff. We will wait to see what HUD becomes with the ascendancy of T rump.
My friend lives at a Meridian apartment downtown, Cap Centre. It had always been a respectable place to live up until about 10 years ago. The previous management was great and did not put up with bad behaviors from the residents. The nasty residents now run the building, not the management. They pick on people for minor issues but allow others to get away with lease violations, bullying behavior and it all makes for an unhappy place for the good people to live. Many people have brought these concerns to the management but they do nothing. Very unprofessional management.
My disabled brother has rented from Meridian for over 16 years. The apartment upstairs flooded his apartment. The problems are too numerous to go into here. However, when his FAMILY finally moved moved him into another apartment in the same building. He will be without a phone or television for 14 days. I spent slightly more than 30 hours trying to get this taken care of. Other family members spent at least another 7+ hours checking equipment and trying to get his telephone and TV working. We finally got a technician to come the wires to his apt were not hooked up. He could not get into the communications room to hook them up. We tried calling maintenance, no answer. It is Sunday. The office is also closed tomorrow. So we set up an appointment for the technician to come on Tuesday. I will have to notify them. Furthermore, when I try contacting Meridian's main office, they do not call or email me back. They refer it to the complex office person.
Ever since they changed property managers over a year ago at Lexington Court Apartments in Janesville,WI & now I have nothing but a bad experience where I have been harassed about several things. Also I even got hurt on one of their properties several years ago when I was living in Illinois at oakridge village apartments where there was a branch hidden under the leaves by the stairs with no lighting to get up to my apartment which caused me to fracture my left fibula in my left ankle & the injury came back in late September 2020 where my injury was diagnosed as a torn ligament in the same ankle from a previous injury which I was told by my doctors. It even cost me my job back in December before the holidays & currently I m still injured where I can t stand on my feet for more than an hour. Currently I m facing eviction at the end of the month due to my limited limitations because of the injury that I currently have that is their fault. I wouldn t recommend applying to any of their properties.
There response on maintenance is horrible. They have tendency to lose rent check then blame you they never received it. And to top it off they have a bad black mold issue that they paint over to move in the next tenant.
I had been living in the north of Madison for more than 5 years, everything was fine until the new director came .. She deals with the residents with little respect and arrogance, threatening to evacuate all the time, and in the recent period the evacuation is a reality and there is no warning before it. Many of the tenants left because of her, and I think she imposed this on them, and I among them used to watch what we bring home and whoever comes to us from friends who follow people in the cameras throughout the day and bring her granddaughters to watch, and this is definitely illegal so that the manager looks out of the window and the door if she is open to see what is going in Inside there was daily harassment from the manager, and there are those who work in maintenance who were not good, although he is older than her in this place, but recently he has been dealing in the same bad way .. I don't advise anyone to come to the Meridian Group.
My grandmother lives in the property is Brodhead Wi. They advertise on their website that the facility is smoke free, however since her new neighbor moved in, all she smells is cigarette smoke and incense burning all day and night. We have been complaining to the management for a month now and nothing seems to be getting done. She pays her rent and is 90 years old and shouldn't have to deal with this every day. Were not sure what else to do as the management doesn't seem to care.
*Update* The managers said they will do nothing from stopping her to smoke. I would give negative stars if I was able to!
This is a horrible company. I lived at their property called Sunset Terrace in Racine and it is horrible. The female onsite staff wanted to be a friend since we are both from Chicago. I didn't want to be here friend and she went psycho. She made a false neglect charge on me, they started finding reasons to come into my apartment, they sent paper saying there was a mistake with my move in paper and they needed to up my rent and I owed them back money. They have favorite tenants that kiss their butt so they can do anything. I went on vacation and came home to find the landlords had ransacked my apartment without my permission. They also went in and turned all the heaters up and every tv on. They are vindictive and childish. The people at the top have no idea what is going on and when you complain to them they never respond. This company should be shut down. If you research their properties before you move in a lot of their apartment complexes keep having bed bug outbreaks. They also did not allow me to bring my service animal. They made it seem like I could not bring him because he is over 40 pounds but then I later found out that is there general pet policy not for the service animals. BEWARE OF MERIDIAN.
They cant wait to kick you out or raise up the rent. Totally unreasonable.. It made me laugh. They creating atmosphere of rigit rules, basically meaning" I am gonna make your life miserable here" Must a be getting bonuses for that. Had a notice on the door stating " your guest with blue subaru parks in the wrong spot. And every guest staying overnight must be reportted to the office. ..things like thar
When i moved in four years ago,i really loved living at Oakridge/Antioch..The place has really gone down hill.Its very dirty,they don't want to pay very much for cleaning the building.We have a company coming in ever other week for four hours.Its a three story building.Its very sanitary for the disabled and elderly.The cigarette smoke is so strong in my hallway i have to hold my breath as long as i can.Its affecting my health horribly.I have three neighbors that are chain smokers,they all live in the same corner of the building that i live in.I keep getting told that this building will never go smoke free,so move if i don't like it.. Last week management and maintance went into a man's apartment when he wasn't home.He didn't know they had been in there,untill i told him.They didn't even leave a note.And the reason was because someone told management she smelled marijuana.According to the policy,management or maintance have to have approval to go into someones apartment,unless its an emergency.... I can't even do my laundry in peace.She blocked the laundry room door so i couldn't get in it.Management is aware of it.There's a big trouble maker in our building.I told management, she said call the police.Why should i waste there time? The trouble maker in our building,keeps harrassing me and telling lies about me to management.I have talked to the manager about it,but nothing gets done about it...
I hope its better her at Oakridge.There are a lot of concerned residents....And are looking for other places to live.
