I m disappointed with my experience in the hotel. First off I had a room booked months ago, only for the reception to tell me that they don t know when they ll be able to check me in to my room. So we had to wait for a whole hour after our original check in time. Not to mention the staff isn t professional at all. They deal with customer frustration as refusing their help. Ordering anything from the reception takes a long to get to your room. I would recommend something else.

The hotel has a clean room, equipped with a coffee maker, a kettle, and a fridge with drinking water. The location is a bit less ... far from the city center and about a 10 minute walk to the metro.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Mercure hotel amsterdam city for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. In addition to cleanliness and courtesy, the location is not bad either. it is slightly outside the center but with the metro you reach it in 10/15 minutes. We rented a bike for the 3 days and moved very well. The hotel restaurant is also very good. The only flaw was just to rent the bike that we could not take at the hotel because they require a credit card but we were able to rent it downtown.

Clean hotel and they have a good breakfast. The girl in the reception was very rude when we arrived because it was some kind of mix up with our booking. But it solved itself and she apologized. It takes around 30 min to walk in to town from this hotel.

Very helpful and friendly staff. We got an upgrade to the executive rooms. Everything was very clean and quiet. The sauna area was nicely designed. Only the temperature of the sauna was a bit too low at 70 degrees but that is already complaining at a high level

I was really impressed with the decor, the Mercure feels a lot more high end and modern compated to its neighbouring hotels. The staff on the front desk are very helpful and give you a warm welcome, very pleased they were able to sort my train tickets for me and I could pay there and then. The rooms are small but for a business traveller it had everything i needed for a one night stay. The bed was quite uncomfortable. Hard mattress and hard pillows. The shop in the foyer is a great idea but would have loved to be able to buy a normal bottle of sprite or diet coke rather than their poncey overpriced brands. The breakfast a great, a nice choice of food. If you are based in the city I would recommend this hotel.

Mercure is a hip, stylish hotel with easy access to both the main attractions and airport, using the metro with is an 8 minute walk away. The lobby and lounge are decorated with a hip Scandinavian style, and make you want to spend time there relaxing and socializing. The business class guestroom had a lovely bathroom and fantastic large shower, and with a view of the river. The bed was too firm for my liking, but this could easily be improved with a mattress pad. The surrounding area has no amenities, and is situated amongst businesses and conference buildings, so the Mercure
is best suited for the business traveler, but is still easy to get to from touristic neighbourhoods using public transit. Overall a pleasant stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend, it's located a little way out from the heart of the city, but with a metro station just a few minutes walk down the road with a direct line to the central station we couldn't complain! The room was nice, with a massive bed and large shower room. We found that the room was particularly warm and we were unable to cool it even with the air-conditioning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we had a wonderful time here in Amsterdam and The Mercury hotel is a lovely place to stay!

small rooms but very comfortable, great mattress made the best sleep, espresso free in the room, 500 metres from metro and in few minutes we where in the Centre! Staff in Mercury hotel where friendly and very helpful, last day we had to stay for hours in the lobby area and felt like it was home! a warm and easygoing atmosphere with many different living room areas to chose from.. yes i would chose to stay there again, missing Amsterdam already

Lovely hotel with easy access to and from the city centre....just 1 down fall money taking from my card which was never stated at time of booking and was told when checking in I was best off paying cash when checking out only to get a phone call to my room to say my card was declined and was asked had I any other cards on me and to top it off the money that was taking from my card I have to wait 72 hours for it just to be paid back into my bank.

Not quite as advertised. Tidy room and friendly staff however after the first housekeeping we had 3 packs of cigarettes missing... no shops nearby. The closest shop is about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The closest McDonald's is one train stop away.

We have stayed in many hotels but this is one of the worst.

Staff not very helpfull you.
I got an electric shock from the air con that didn't work reported it at 1930hrs to get back in at midnight when your tired and find out no body ever checked it.

Doors hanging off hinges a very sharp screw sticking out from mirror.

Just awful ruined the trip no help moving rooms at midnight.

Photos will be added of the room very tired.

Went down to use facility Ice bath but was not in use.

The staff did not try and make it a comfortable experience I recorded a video whilst waiting for five minutes at an empty reception all staff were laughing behind the wall just a shame to see a good hotel chains standard slip.

What a hotel. I had unfortunate circumstances for being at the hotel(flight cancelled etc) however the place was rather beautiful. Lovely decor in all areas, with a really cool 'fire pit' in the lobby. The bar had a school of stainless steel fish around it too. The room was lovely and quiet also. One downside was that it was about a 10 minute walk (in the snow) to get to the nearest metro stop to take you into the centre, but it was only a short jaunt once at the metro. The staff were great and helpful in such a busy time. At the evening buffet I did have to request that a vegan meal was made but what was provided was a really great pasta with a variety of veg and a tomato based sauce. They also have a small shop in the hotel, it is however quite expensive.

It was a really great experience staying at the Mercure Amsterdam City hotel.
As we arrived for check-in we have been informed that instead of a classic double room we would be staying in a suite, which was totally nice.
Place is super quiet, great breakfast buffet. Very pleasant employees.
Definitely recommend this place.
10 minutes to the metro to get to the city center.
