I am beyond grateful to this hospital, for the services they gave my wife. The nurses and staff are so humble. We are new parents and they have given us so much vital information. All the staff are so informative. I do want to give a very special thank you to Stephanie Christiansen and Shannon Ritter for all the special attention that they gave my wife Yskra and I.

Never received the results of my mammogram for the folks at Memorial Healthcare. Haven't had a problem in the past with that until now.
Luckily, I had a doctors appointment with my physician for bloodwork results and they let me know my mammogram was normal.

I have a close friend who has been in the hospital for 48 hours after a fall. He is 81 years old. He has been waiting for an mri for over 30 hours. This has been a horrible experience for him and his family

I was admitted 9/24-9/30 to 4 west. My nurses Logan, Desiree to name a few were AWESOME!! They took their time with me, were kind to my family, and answered all of my questions. The PCTs and dietary were stellar! Environmental services did a good job as well.

According to my fiance's mother, this was her experience.

She was barely taken care of, half of the nurses that took care of her were completely rude, and this is the crazy part.

She says that during night hours, the nurses would smoke a pink powder and be asleep for a solid hour or two. Upon research into trying to find out what she's talking about, turns out a few of the nurses and some of the ICU attendants are smoking morphine.

Now, I am not able to say I witnessed this myself, but she let us know that she's seen many of the staff smoke morphine during the night hours.

As a company, might want to check into this. As a patient, might want to be concerned.

The quality of care I received at Memorial Hospital, from the front registration desk to recovery to the 4th floor west, was top notch! The process was smooth and efficient. The staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. The facility was also very clean. Thank you to everyone who made my procedure and over night stay less daunting!

As soon as I walked through the doors and went to the Registration Desk I was greeted with a smile and hello. Check-in went smoothly. The staff were very professional, courteous, and efficient.

RUDE ass workers!!! could hear security and nurses talking right by us. we asked to sign the discharge papers and go somewhere else because they wanted us to wait 10 HRS for another doctor.. they refused to do so then kicked me out, a suicidal patients girlfriend. he had no pain no nothing. accident. the employees were the worst part.

only ever had one bad experience here and have never had an issue since. The E.R. Doctors and nurses are always providing the best care possible. They run thorough tests and get to the bottom of what the issue is unlike other local hospitals that I have been to. I appreciate the hard work the staff at memorial do and thanks for taking care of me when I feel at my worst. Great team!!

This is the worst hospital I ve ever been in!! The staff are not on the same page, they tell you different things from your Dr! The rooms are nasty and they polish floors in the middle of the night with patients in their rooms smelling wax and having to just deal with the noise!!!! Last they send you home with pain scripts that you can t get filled so you have to stay in pain for days while you call around the city to get the script filled! Never go here for anything if you can help it!

I have never been so pleased to be in excruciating pain that took me to the ER. Everyone from security to Dr. Were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, kind, and informative. They even called in ultrasound and they arrived in no time. Was the swiftest most enjoyable and caring visit ever. The Dr even came in actually SAT DOWN with me explained everything to me in detail, and made sure all questions were fully answered and understood. Even when he spoke to me about needing to quit smoking,he did it in such a way I didn't feel scolded. I truly appreciate you guys and ty so much!! Best team ever!

Horrible! Do not go here. My husband came in for a migraine he's been suffering for a month and they left him in the room for 3 hours with no pain meds, awaiting a CAT Scan. Seriously!!! If you want a place to lounge and watch some bootleg cable. THIS IS IT!!!!

My pre-op admin check-in and paperwork was super simple and then I had shoulder surgery last week and everything went extremely smooth without complications. Would definitely schedule there again!

Very disappointed in this hospital. My boyfriend was taken here after being in a car accident. He had xrays and a CT scan done and the doctor never came in to talk with him, check out his injuries or even go over the results with him. The nurse gave us a script, crutches, and a knee brace and sent us on our way. I had to ask the nurse to clean the blood and glass slivers off of his head before we left! I can t believe a hospital couldn t even have the courtesy to at least help clean him up and was going to let him leave looking the way he did!

Cheyenne was very careful as she took my xray. She was very nice. The lady that called to get my information was very nice and so kind. I do not know her name. Everyone was warm and friendly. Thank You. JoAnn Collier

LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS! DO NOT GO HERE! My wife went here for a car accident. She had a CT scan done and sat in a room by herself to someone to come back, tell her the results, and write her a prescription for a muscle relaxer and Ibprofin. Apparently, since scripts were written, that visit was valued at $3,000 just for the doctors end. She was maybe there an hour? The CT scan was $7000!!! That's probably more than the machine is worth! That doctors visit basically exhausted her whole entire PIP. She did the same thing last year when she was in another not at fault accident and was sent to Baptist Beaches. They only charged $5,000 for the same services and were a lot more attentive. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!

Arrived around 7pm left 2am , to find out they couldn't give me an ultrasound for my stomach pains and instead told me to make an appointment to see a specialist, the wait was painful since I had a fever and was throwing up 30 minutes prior to driving myself to the ER.

I had Total Knee Replacement surgery Oct 4th my 1st evening stay was fine then the night care nurse aide was something else rough and assisted me without any care. My 2nd night I called for help waited 30mins an ended up struggling by myself to get to restroom when I came out nurse was sitting in chair looked like she just woke an looking on her phone she hurriedly helped me in bed and left. Needed to go again few hours again to restroom called and thank goodness the lady that serves the meals came in she stayed just to c that I managed to go safely an the nurse showed up by time I was back in bed no change but glad I didnt have to be there another night. Heard after alot of similar stories.

I have never had such caring and superior service at a hospital before. The fact that they kept me posted as to how long each test would be and how long I had to wait for the next one. Hopefully, when I have surgery next month the service will also be superior.

Worst care I've ever dealt with. Drs don't talk to eachother for your over all health needs. They just like to bill you for everything..but the service and nurses is just rediculous. Making you go thru procedures that aren't even needed. And now Memorial Hospital has Drs on staff that are getting kick backs for putting ppl on that medical marijuana , when that's not the answer to your health problems. Be very careful with what Drs say.. always get a second opinion.. I did and it saved my life.

I was admitted to the ER and Trauma ICU unit on 5 Dec 2020. Regarding care by those that saw and treated me, I could not have asked for a more caring and capable team. Unfortunately and it was not their fault, there were no Trauma ICU beds available so I ended up spending from 11:30 a.m. Saturday till 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening in the ER area and then was moved to the "Trauma" floor 4 Central as I was no longer an ICU patient. 4 Central staff are very top notch and I was well attended to there as well. It is apparent that they are held to high expectations by their Nursing Director and other management staff. Thank you all.

If you ever just want to waste 5 hours of your lif...

If you ever just want to waste 5 hours of your life, go to Memorial emergency room and see Dr. Jill Ward. She'll make sure your time is wasted. For one, she steps in to see you for 2 minutes before coming up with a diagnosis by only asking 2 questions. After insisting i wanted imaging done to be on the safe side, she steps out of the "curtain room" to rudely tell her PA, "she keeps insisting just put an order for CT in." Mind you im nauseated and in pain. I told them that i had a CT on monday without contrast and really wanted one with contrast to assure its not colitis or something. After waiting another hour, i go to do my CT, finally!
Get there, the tech goes over the ct with me and tells me its without contrast....
Obviously im not having the same test twice. Went back to the ED to have her say "WHAT do you THINK you even have!? Im not going to cater to what you want!"
I got up and thanked her and told her "you haven't done anything for me since I got here. I'll just leave because nothings being done." all i want is answers! I wouldn't be in the emergency room if i felt it was nothing. But my symptoms for almost 2 weeks is more than alarming for me.
So guys, if you seriously want your life wasted, go see "Dr" Jill Ward.

For the ER only: If your not feeling well but want...

For the ER only: If your not feeling well but want to be left confused and in the dark about what s going on with YOUR health because the nurses and doctors refuse to communicate and treat you like a robot, ignoring you while they plug you up and inject you with god knows what then come here. If you want to be treated like a human with respect and effective communication then go elsewhere. Staff here are so rude and unprofessional. Also, learn as much as you can if your sick (before you arrive) about your symptoms because they more than likely will brush off your description of symptoms and misdiagnose you.

Scam artists. I would not go here if I was dying. Scum of the earth. After a covered provider in their system told us that this was where we had to get a TB screening X-Ray prior to prescription of a certain medication, X-Ray was done and over $1200 in billing was done. The staff are clueless. These are common studies often done for $50-150 depending on where you go. Hell will freeze before these scammers get one nickel. Every time I'm reminded of these clowns, I make sure to tell one more person. Other thing to consider is what a dumpster fire their emergency department is. Accompanied several family members and you're better served driving to another facility from ANYWHERE in Jacksonville.

I watch a nurse ignoring my husband's desperate cry for help while she kept telling him to calm down when he could not breath. That went on for about 5 minutes until he died. That was awful for me to watch and she also ignored my plea for help on his behalf. I hope that nurse was disciplined. And also I am a victim of identity theft at Memorial too.
So needless to say that I would never use or recommend this facility to anyone.

Trauma center was packed, but the staff was very attentive to my 92 year old mom who had a serious injury from a fall. The ARNP les? Was as gentle as he could be with her . Unfortunately the hospital was full so it took about 18-20 hours to get her admittedly. Jessica RN was very efficient with admission to room 4098a. Have never seen a nurse work so quickly and efficiently with admit and discharge to community hospice.

I have gone to multiple hospitals and had not so great experiences! today I went to a hospital and almost gave up with doctors and nurses altogether because of the disrespect and no compassion! but i tried my last chance at Memorial Hospital and I do not regret it! i want to give a special thank you to Dr. Ward nurse Bill medic Kelly and doctor bhanji! they did everything they could and it was amazing I'm glad they were genuine and compassionate with their job!

Almost everyone that I have encountered, from the Registration Desk, lab, CT, & to the nurses, have been nothing but friendly, helpful, and understanding. I had 1 nurse I didn't like and she was brisk & rude at first & then when I started talking to her & understood what was going on I empathized with her and she started to soften up.

The first day of my stay was fine. I was admitted 6/19/19 in unit 4. I came in getting the help I needed. The nurse I had the first day was very nice and attentive. There was one young nurse who had an attitude problem and whom was also pretty cold and unprofessional. The Dr's were fine as well. My issue is upon leaving Memorial after a very bad flare up, I was given a number to call for a follow up Dr. It turns out, the number I was given was wrong information and for a Dr. who is only a Hospital Dr... Also when I called after my stay, and asked for information in regards to how I can refill my medication, the charge nurse came at me as if I was begging for something when I was simply inquiring about information for my health and medication. She was short, and seemed as if she really didn't want to help. Advice: Eat healthy and stay out of ths hospital. Period.

Quality of Care Excellent
Rooms in Heart Center too small
Waited in the ER for more than 14 hours to get a bed in the Health Center. That is unacceptable
December 10
Wife was suppose to be admitted again following her heart cath in morning at First Coast Cardiology (11am when the bed was requested) for IV therapy. It is now 12 noon on Friday December 11 and we still have not been called with our bed assignment. This therapy is needed and this is even more UNACCEPTABLE AND IS THE ONLY REASON I RATE YOUR FACILITY SO LOW. As a retired hospital administrator and formal medical facility consultant your bed control/management leaves alot to be desired. We just moved here from Michigan and our insurance sent to your facility or we would not even have been here. Respectfully Submitted Jim Ciluffo

$25.00 for a single tablet of motrin. So I originally went to my regular Baptist urgent care clinics because it is always $30 with my insurance. I had taken my daughter the day before for the flue. They did a strep and flue test and prescribed meds. I went the next day for the same but the doctor was not in so I ended going to the Memorial clinic on Atlantic Blvd. They left me in a room for 2 hours. They only did a flue test at the end and they gave me a motrin and sent me home. My out of pocket bill was $325.00. They charged me $25.00 for the single motrin tablet.

I spent 20 mins checking in with a very nice lady. She took my contact info and my health insurance.

A few months later I get notified of a bill going to collections. When I told them I didn t receive any statements they said they could see that none of them were mailed successfully. I then verified my address which they said was correct on their file. I asked them to bill tricare the amount since I was active duty and knew they d pay the amount in full. SEVEN months later same bill is in collections. Tricare never received a claim! Collections won t talk to tricare after telling me they needed to speak to tricare. Capio services has hung up on me and tricare.

Memorial hospital shame on you for sending this account to collections after me not only spending my time giving you my insurance information but then giving it to you a SECOND time. I see how much you value you your active duty members.

Absolutely the worst hospital and family doctors. ...

Absolutely the worst hospital and family doctors. Went in for 1 X-Ray and received 4 different bills for ONE X-RAY. My daughter had surgery at Baptist Downtown and received one bill with all charges broken down. Every time I call Memorial, they say they dont have my insurance on file. Call my insurance and they show claims processed from Memorial. Very unorganized. Not only are they billing me for what I believe are excess charges, but I DON'T FEEL BETTER! I am in the process of looking new doctors through Baptist since I was not treated correctly the first time. I, personally, will never return and will not let any of my family members return. This is not a hospital where you go to get better. This hospital is the last stop before you hit the ground (physically and financially). Avoid at all cost.

Absolute worst hospital I've ever had to deal with...

Absolute worst hospital I've ever had to deal with! My dad is in this hospital and has a condition I am extremely familiar with. I live 2 1/2 hours from my parents. My dad was sent home two weeks ago. There are certain foods he can't eat, but they didn't tell him or my mom this. They also should have sent him home with a particular medication which they didn't. Needless to say, a week later he was back in the hospital. My parents have signed papers allowing their doctor's to talk to me about their conditions. When I called to get an update on my dad, the nurse was rude to me. She wouldn't tell me anything. She lied and said she told my mom that our family needs to have one person of contact for them to talk to because we were taking time away from her other patients. I called the nurse in charge to complain and she told me the same thing. My mom kept calling me upset because they kept neglecting him. He would deficate on himself and would sit in it for 30 minutes. When I called the hospital to complain the nurse yelled at me and then hung up on me. I went to see my dad at the hospital last night and while I was there, he deficated on himself again. I watched the clock. It was literally 45 minutes before they came in even after I complained to the desk 4 times. We were given the excuse that they were understaffed and the nurse was only one person. DO NOT go here or take your loved ones here! UPDATE: They sent my dad home with Hospice. He had bedsores and was only in there a week and a half. They neglected to take the IV out of his arm so the Hospice nurse had to. He died 3 days later.

I was really disappointed by the arrogant staff. My wife broke her tooth on easter weekend and it was starting to absence . They poisoned her with 2 type s of antibiotics and the nurse Bloch her pain meds. Up. So they released her without giving her anything for the pain, after she had her mouth lance.

My wife had surgery here and felt like all of the staff and doctors she encountered from check in to check out were friendly, helpful, and professional. The private room she recovered in was very clean and the food service timely and good. No one wants to spend time feeling bad at a hospital, but since she had to, she felt like it was a very good experience.

Three years ago I had a seizure and my mom panicked and took me here instead of Wolfson's. My father and brother, aunts and uncles, have all had seizures and my mother has witnessed them. She knows what a seizure looks like. The doctor I had had to nerve to tell her "You didn't record it? Well you can't prove she had a seizure. So there's not much we can do." I received a CT scan and a nurse in training(?) came in to tell us nothing showed up that was concerning, handed us my release papers and made us leave. My mother got in contact with my personal doctor and she made me an appointment with a neurologist. They listened to my mother and they are convinced I had a seizure. They made me do a test that could help them somehow and they were 100% certain I did have a seizure. The few times I've been to Memorial have been horrible and I will never in a million years go back to this place.

Quick service. Compassionate people, very friendly staff. The only thing i would say is that the waiting room in the breast mam. center is very old and not warm inviting decor. The staff is wonderful, but the large waiting room could be more updated to feel like a "home" atmosphere for those who visit this location should feel a warmer atmosphere as far as decor. But the staff is wonderful!

For convience of emergency had to stop here. It was disgusting there was trash and food on floor in waiting area for emergency everyone had on mask and the waiting was very miserable. They called you just to make you go to another waiting area smaller where you sad under other sick patients. Once in a unit away from other sick people there was blood on curtain that looked old and the nurse that served us was upset we asked to wipe down our seat ourself because there was residue on chair and table still after she cleaned it with a wipe and she became upset. When asked to speak with a manager, the manager said she could not help because she was with another patient and she was just standing in our view. The whole experience was aweful everyone.

My husband had a fall on Dec 23rd and was seen at Memorial Emergency on Atlantic Blvd and transported to a room at Memorial. Holiday time and short staff did not stop anyone from giving excellent care. They were caring and helpful. We are 88 and 84 and appreciated a quick diagnoses and addressing the reason for the fall. We have used them for many years and are very grateful. Addie & C.

What matters is not the name of places we visit for needed care but the people that are there to provided the care and services we need. It's those people that make me believe that Memorial Hospital was the right choice for my wife to receive her care. From the free valet parking to the nurses, doctors and utility people I commend you for your professional and caring service! The care my wife received in her 11 day stay was good in every way possible. We thank each and everyone of the staff at Memorial for the care my wife received.

Do not go to this facility. I was sent here by Jacksonville Spine Center for x rays in August of 2015. They billed my insurance company over $800 for the procedure and incorrectly billed me for over $90 for my share when the correct amount was $18. My insurance company had to call their legal department to get it fixed. I paid the $18. I have now received a new bill for $80 with no explanation. I called on Jan 6 and was promised an explanation within 10 working days. 17 working days later I have received no explanation.

I have now filed a complaint with the Florida Health Department.

The staff was absolutely awesome! Their care and concern for my comfort and safety as well as my health was above and beyond. The nurse's had mad heart in their care of me. Just to mention Chris one of the male nurse's and a most wonderful physical therapist Jordan who's smile and enthusiasm that encouraged me everyday to take it one step further in my health and healing. Because of Jordan my healing at home has been continually improving.. Thank you all.

The doctor was awesome the weight was horrible we were there for 6 hours and spent that whole 6 hours in the lobby being seen what happened to HIPAA because I felt like all my information was for everybody will never come to this hospital again even if I'm dying.

My experience with Memorial Hospital was exceptionally good. Everyone I dealt with was extremely competent, friendly, and helpful. My surgeon (Dr. Redmond) did a great job with my hip replacement and everyone else was wonderful. I will recommend Memorial to everyone I know. Keep up the good work and thank you for all you did for me.

I would give a Zero star if that was an option. This hospital is a farce. I was admitted to the hospital. After several days some Black dude staff member tried to scam me into paying for a meal. He Committed a crime. I went to the nurses station and they turned their head. I was told that they never charge for meals. I called the cops and I was put in lock down. The nurse who had tattoos all over her body yelled at me for calling the cops. She looked like a biker chick. She will look really cool with those tattoos when she is 80 yeas old. I was tied up and laid on a basement floor. What a way to treat a Retired Major with 30 years service. I also retired from the state. I was denied food and water and medication for days. They put my life at risk. The lock down people taunted me saying that they just got food several times I spent several days in the hospital after being released from lock down. My nurse was very nice and took care of me. I would have been treated better in a North Korean Prison Camp. Do not go there.

Worse hospital. My dad was transferred there. Dried blood on the floor lack of cleaning small rooms waiting room was beyond small. Staff was rude. One nurse said this wasn't a hotel. Wouldn't even let my family stay in the room with my father. Don't recommend this hell hospital. No staff care about you in this hospital

No ED visit is perfect but this was absolutely the most unprofessional and disgusting hospital visit I've ever had. The ED smelled awful and the blood pressure and pulse ox monitors didn't work in my room. The nurse plugged and unplugged the monitor several times with no luck and finally just left the blood pressure cuff on my arm and left the room. I spent a total of 8 hours in the ED and with a pandemic going, I was very surprised at the amount of staff and patient families walking around either without mask or with improperly fitted PPE's. If you have a choice, I definitely would not recommend seeking help from this so called care facility.

I had my baby via C section at Memorial Hospital last Dec 4, 2018 and was admitted in 2 South(Labor and Delivery). I can t thank enough all the staff who took care of me from admitting, pre op, OR, post op till I get transferred to my room. Everyone did an amazing job, they made me feel safe and comfortable. It was an amazing experience for me and my husband. The rooms are clean, staff are friendly and courteous, we love them all.

I came in for a hurting ears in the er, after coming back to back I was missed diagnose and bill my insurance for tests not needed I'm disappointed in the doctors. After leaving the ER I was given ear medicine for ear infection and vertigo which was not the case. After leaving the ENT he informed me to disregard the medication that was prescribed by the ER doctors. The ENT doctor stated how can you have an ear infection when they didn't take the time to get the wax out of your ear.

I have always used the emergency room and it is a flip of a coin what sort of care you will receive. Most of the time it is not so great in the ER.

I had surgery last week with Dr. Martin from Memorial Women's Health. And let me just say Bravo. Your team in surgical is ON IT! I even told Whitney as she wheeled me to my ride, "I have heard HORRIBLE things about this hospital. You have truly improved in my book" Nice facelift Memorial it is showing!

All in all, considering the surgery, etc., it was far better than Orange Memorial health center.
The bed was flat, one didn't sink into it as if it was a hammock. Because of this, the ability to move without setting off alarms was better. A very important issue. Also, the individual personnel involved were more professional than Orange memorial . no loud laughing at 2:00AM, nurse's cell phones with all their different signal ring tones going off all night.
A hospital is not a spa, it is a recuperative institution which is unavoidably stressful. Memorial hospital, for any shortcomings, is the best around Jax. One individual who could cheer up anyone was Christine. I needed more time with her, alas it was not to be. She is an angel.
