I took my brother to ER, due to his heart rate was racing, when we got there lady at the desk was less concerned about his health, it just seem to be a joking matter the whole "I seen this and know what it is", I have never been in a situation like so I was scared for my brother with everything going on with covid it be great to be more empathic no matter the case. We waited 2 1/2 hours to get back results. So many different departments in the lobby I didn't know who to speak to, how am I supposed to know how many departments(whom have no good communications with each other), are ran in one hospital? This visit wasn't so great to begin with so thanks for listening.

This to be honest has to be the worst Er I have ever been to.I walked in a 7 ish to which dont get me wrong the check in got my information in pretty quick but here is where it all went downward. After explaining the sitution, doing my ultrasound and urine testing.I get told well give us 20 minutes and we will be able to tell you whats wrong with your body and why you are in severe pain.It hits 9 and then 10pm.Im watching people walk in after me and my significant other get serviced, all of their test done and watched them get discharged. But when I ask the Nurse at the Er desk what is going on why wasnt my blood testing done and he tells me well the doctor/nurse that does the blood pulling hasnt been around for 2 hours then he shrugs and goes back to joking with a other associate. Now mind you while he is joking I am in serious pain ,could be losing my child and I am watching the nurse who is supposedly M.I.A walk around with a coke in his hand while talking with other members of the er room leave out the door. Now at this point I am pretty pissed but still civilized.I finally get to the doctor room around ohh 11 pm.But guess what no doctor had seen me after waiting foreveuary. Finally find another Nurse and she tells me somewhat what is going on while apologizing for fact that the rest of the staff goofs off while im bleeding profusedly....I finally had enough and decided to leave but thats not the kicker the KICKER is the FACT that the hospital staff; That rude male they have at the desk who laughed and joked instead of doing his job tried to have me sign a letter stating I refused service and as such I could no longer be welcomed at memorial hospital and that I refused to see a doctor who OH WAIT.Never showed up to even remotely tell me what the hell was going on.I wasnt seen by a doctor.I was not told officially what was wrong with me nor was my blood taken for extra precautions because the 99 PERCENT of the ER STAFF were not where they were suppose to have been.Smh be ashamed of your damn selves.People could be seriously be in danger because of their health and it seems your hospital doesnt care enough to get the job done.
I looked forward to getting released from Memorial Hospital so I could take the time to mention how grateful I am to have chosen this hospital. No one likes to be admitted to a hospital but if it must happen, I can't think of a better hospital. Especially having the privilege of being on 5 Central. I do not believe there is a better nursing staff on earth. I was having a bad moment and the next thing I knew, one of the best Nurse Directors came into my room at the perfect moment. His name is Adam Copher. He had absolutely know idea how much it meant to me to have such a caring heart. He was born to be in health care. The "A TEAM" on 5 Central may not get the recognition they so rightly deserve, but in my book, they are unforgettable. The best directors leading this team Mariam (I hope I spelled your name correctly) and Adam made a perfect team. I was highly impressed with the two of them. They both had the same mission. "TREATING THE PATIENTS AS IF THEY WERE YOUR FAMILY". It was obvious it was not just a slogan. The staff really cares, I can not thank you all enough, Brittany, Ashley, Tatiana and ALL of the nurses and CNA's I had the honor of coming in contact with. You all are the best! Yayyyy 5 CENTRAL!!!!!
This so call hospital has to be one of the WORST HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO !! The place is dirty, extremely dirty !! Every one there from registration to the fina insult of calls themselves nurses and doctors is a slap in the face, !!
I have been blessed to have 2 C-sections at Memorial Hospital and i'm currently pregnant and plan to have a 3rd c-section in July! this hospital has some awesome doctors through HCA and the most amazing nurses on the delivery floor! I would recommend this hospital for anyone needing surgery, having a baby or an unplanned trip to the ER!
I delivered my premature son at Memorial this December. I want to give a HUGE shout out to all of the staff and Doctors in the Women s center. I did not have one bad experience with any of the staff. I adored and miss all of my nurses and Doctors. Doctor Thomas took amazing care of me and Doctor Weinstein delivered my beautiful son and really helped me have the delivery experience I wanted even though it went a little unplanned due to complications. They made sure that my son and I were safe and healthy for the week we were there and involved my husband every step of the way. I know this is a long review but this was my first pregnancy and I am so freaking thankful I had the experience I did with the staff at memorial because it made all the difference for a scary situation. All the thanks and love to Memorial Women s Center!!
Worst hospital ever!!!!!! Been waiting for hours to get seen and when I m finally seen i had to wait another hour to be diagnosed then another hour to be discharged!!! Pitiful medical professionals
One year ago this week the staff at Memorial Hospital helped me bring my new baby girl into the world. I'll never forget how the physicians and staff treated my family and I with such care and compassion. Everyone was knowledgeable, experienced and professional. They alleviated my fears, made sure I was comfortable and helped me have the birth experience that I envisioned. Every year when we celebrate my daughter's birthday, I'll always remember this experience. Please know Memorial holds a special place in my heart.
Had spinal stenosis surgery on discs C5-C7 and recovered two days with a neck brace (that ll stay on for 3 months). Generally speaking my stay at Memorial was OK, the food I thought was surprisingly good. Care was mediocre given my drip bags went empty a couple of times (45 minutes +), even when I called the nurse, who answered that she could hear the drip bag alarm. There were, I was told, 7 patients on our floor, so I can t say if that s a lot to care for. I may have had a nurse with little experience as she struggled to connect my drip bags (solution went streaming to the floor) but another nurse stepped in to help. Routine nurse checks every 3 or so hours, night shift nurse did her best not to interrupt me, which I appreciated. The room was comfortable given my situation.
My cousin was in a bad accident and when brought to the hospital they failed to give him pain medication, and there was glass stuck in his eye and they refused to treat him until an optimaligist got on scene. He was in severe pain and we had to ask many times for him to get seen. This is unprofessional and flat out dangerous.
Horrible! Went in and the staff as well as the doctors did not want to listen to me about what my medical issues were. Was belittled and made to feel embarrassed for even trying to get medical help! Good luck to anyone else that ends up having to go in there!
If I could give a 0 star I would. They were trying to discharge me and I didn't even talk to the doctor. I asked if I could talk to the charge nurse because we didn't speak to anyone or the doctor. The nurse came out and was like, do you just want to get discharged??? I said why would I want to get discharged and I haven't seen or spoken to anyone yet. I dont know what's going on with my labs, no one came and spoke to me. My husband and I just been sitting here since 12:00 pm... So why would I want to get discharged??? When something is going on?She said you didn't get fluids??? I said no! I've been waiting since my lab work which was 3:00, we've been here since 12 this afternoon and it's now 6:45! And no one spoke to me about anything. Went over my results. Then they were giving out pt information in front of other patients, by talking to patients about the healthcare in front of everyone. The only person that really showed any compassion was the Patient Liaison, he was great. The doctor did apologize. But for the nurses, absolute worse service. Even the pharmacy tech. I went to ask her if I had to get my prescription filled at the hospital, she didn't even give me a chance to speak.... she stated have a seat its another lady in front of you.. And I was like ma'am tik didn't even give me a chance to even ask if I have to get meds filled here. I just left at that point, no hospitality whatsoever. Unprofessional, all around. I just didn't understand why have headsets and walkie talkies and no one communicate with each other. I will no longer be a patient with memorial hospital. Dr. Ward, did her best. She communicated with the nurses to bring me back and they were getting ready to discharge me.
To have major surgery like I did, the experience could Not be any worse. After surgery, i believe I was over drug because I remembered bits and pieces of what happened. Male nurse was constantly berating me...even to the point I could not go to the men s restroom without him being at my side all the time. Security guards were call and escorted me back to my room...at this point I believed they drugged me because when they came up to me and for some reason I blacked out. This was Not right as I could not remember a lot of things. After the third day being in the hospital, the head nurse treated me with respect and also my wife was treated well. Dr. Webb and Dr. Misera was wonderful as I never lost respect from either one of them. They are wonderful Doctors and I will continue to use them as my Doctors. I believe my room was set up different than a regular hospital room, therefore leading me to,believe that my hospital stay at Memorial was set up for some kind of study s/and or experience. I volunteer in the memorial auxiliary and was an assistance Champlain for ten years. Under went extensive training about hospital procedures. 10% plus when Rev. Shannon-house was in meetings and on weekends, I acted as the hospital Champlain...something was just Not right during my stay at the hospital.
I came in because I have aFib and couldn't get my heart rate down on my own. I was lead to believe I would be going home. At shift change someone walked in and never introduced themselves and when I asked who they were I was told they were my admitting doctor. I ended up sleeping on an ER gurney because there either weren't any beds in cardio or not enough nurses (I was given both excuses) Because I had been "admitted" ER was not able to discharge me and it took forever for the hospital to send someone to take me to the discharge area. I was agitated because of the lack of communication and the "admitting doctor" didn't get all of the medications I was on and so I didn't get all of my normal medications.
I could write a paragraph about this place but I won t . Had my baby here about a week ago & all I have to say is NEVER AGAIN . Had my daughter at st. Vincent s & I had an AMAZING experience. Don t recommend coming here at all at all .
My husband was seen for a kidney stone. While, I have zero complaints in regards to the actual staff, I have serious issues with billing. My husband actially ended up passing the kidney stone before he was even seen by the doctor. So when the doctor came in he explained that we would not be charged because he did not receive any services and/or treatment. He explained that it would be billed as a non emergency and there would be no charge. We thanked them and we were on our way. Now, months later we receive a "Final Notice" (first rime we have received anything) of a $900 charge. Nobody wants to help! This is not how business should be done!
If I can I give 0 star is the baddest emergency room I ve ever been too first all there nurses is disrespectful none of them doing there job I recommend everyone not to go here plus I had a broken hand with a a lot they make me sit in the lobby for 48 minutes with pain no one really care about you in this hospital.
Rude nurse's, had to bring my mother's tryology machine from home because they just don't have one . What Hospital makes you bring your own medical equipment
I was totally amazed at the quality of before/pre and after/post care and instructions I received! I would include during my surgery, but I was a asleep. Obviously because I had no side effects from the anesthesia, the during surgery care also went well. Everyone I came in contact with was so friendly. The hospital was neat, clean and very modern. I pray that I never have to be a patient there again, but if I do have to go to the hospital, Memorial is my hospital of choice. I will be recommending them to family and friends. I want to thank everyone for taking such GREAT care of me! Nina
My 11yr old daughter was rushed to the ER for a severe asthma attack. As soon as we entered the Nurse Jamie immediately took us back to a room where immediately 5 amazing nurses and Dr. started working on her. They were amazing. We then had to go to the ICU from Saturday afternoon 09/09 until Tues 09/12(During the Hurricane)The nurses that took care of her absolutely AMAZING! I would like them to be recognized for their excellent care. Jennifer, Tai and Lorrie were her nurses and Dr. Cye was her Dr. I would like them to know how much my family appreciates them and we want to thank them so much. Please make sure their Superiors are aware of this letter of recognition.
