The best service ever..
And I've been to a few differnt Mi Cocina Restaurants.. And this one is by far My Favorite

Came to dinner With my coworkers/friends after a very stressful day at The office and let me tell you our server (Sebastian aka Sebas ) really went on and beyond to make us laugh so hard we completely forgot all about the long day we had. The food was amazing and the strawberry Mojito delicious!

Jorge was incredible! Definitely recommend him !!!!!

If I could I would leave 0 stars. I came here with my girlfriend and her sister and husband, sort of a double date, and we had such a horrible customer service experience. In the time we were there, our waiter only came to take our order and NEVER came back to ask if we needed anything else. The manager was even worse, after we explained the situation all he had to say was "I'm sorry". Then the waiter was trying to excuse his service by saying he had other tables and some tables gave him multiple cards to charge, while there was 4-5 other waiters who looked pretty open and our waiter never asked any of them to step in and help. The table behind us also had the same experience with this waiter. Overall, the customer service at this restaurant definitely falls under the WORST experience ever.
Oh and the food was alright (3/5 for tastiness) as some of my enchiladas were cold.

I've always had good food and service from every location I've been to. This location was good. Staff went over the top to make my friends little girls birthday special.

Great food ..great service at times..all around good..#5 lunch is good sour creamer enchilada beef enchilada and a taco..

Best service I have ever experienced. Food was outstanding and mi cocina margaritas..... just know I'll be back for more. Thank you for such a great experience.

Pearl helped us out with curbside pickup and was super friendly and helpful! Loved the service and the food!

Mambo taxi.... just the bomb ninja drink of all drinks, unfortunately the limit is 2 but that should be a great indicator that it's not watered down and thanks to covid rules now Mambo's to go.... pretty difficult to limit this way. Fantastic Mexican food just stuck on the Taxis.

We love this place. We go for chips and white queso with beef. So good and so much food. We share this and don't have have enough room for an entre. Outdoor seating is the best, no wait at all at 6:30 on a Friday though the restaurant was packed and there was a long line.

Andres was OUR server and he was AWESOME. He was very quick and attentive and very friendly!! The food is always sensational. LOVE THIS PLACE

My wife and I have been going to be casinos for a long time this is Tamiko Cena's on Skillman and Walnut Hill the staff is always friendly oh yeah and I have great drinks also

This location is fantastic. We have only been a couple of times but each time, our service is really good, prompt and accurate and the staff is really personable. We were lucky to get a waitress, Pearl, and we loved her sense of humor and personality. She was attentive and was knowledgeable on menu items. Come to this location and ask for Pearl!!!

I had a great experience the manager Rosa checked on everything to make sure we were okay but not to where she was being a disturbance, our waiter (Elias) was also amazing getting our food,to go boxes, and since we were with the whole family we split the bill he was so nice to split the receipt into 2 different ones to make it easy for us. Over all it was great and i would definitely go there again

Great food, and really great service! Our waitress Abby, really seems enjoy waiting tables, as she seems genuinely concerned that we're enjoying the food, or needing anything while we're eating! Very nice and very polite!

As usual, awesome experience, even better food, and of course a Mambo Taxi. Our hostess Franchesca was wonderful; our waitress Pearl was perfect. And a shoutout to Francisco, who was off tonight but has been our go to waiter at Lake Highlands MiCo for years. Five stars all around.

Nash was wonderful! He shared he is from Jordan (my name) and I thought that was so cool! As a waitress myself, I watched how he spent his time and he has very good time management skills and communicated about our food time frequently. Great guy! Promote him... heck! Pay for his college tuition

Great ambience, awesome food and unbelievably drinks.

My first time here for my birthday yesterday. I must say the service was great and great food!!! We were seated quickly and our chips and salsa were delivered quick. Sergio was our waiter and gave us such excellent service, always super attentive from the moment we were seated to when we left. Will definitely come back. If you haven't been here before and choose to go request him to be your server you will not be disappointed!

My server Axel was amazing and quick! Recommended great drinks and was very personable. We will definitely be back! Axel made our experience even better!

Mi Cocina is one of our favorite spots for a weekly Mexican food fix. The food is usually great, though they can have off nights on occasion. The service is usually excellent and the drinks are strong and yummy. Try the Dilemma - a layer of every flavor of frozen margarita they have. Also, the patio is lovely in the right weather.

Stopped in for lunch with coworkers. The food was enjoyed by all.

Me and my colleague came in for a quick bite on our lunch break. NASH our waiter was absolutely the best. He made sure we were in and out on time. Made sure we get a nice quiet area to sit and talk business. He recommended delicious dishes. Nash was the best and he definitely is the reason for us to come back

Great service with quality food. We stopped in recently with several volleyball players and parents after a tournament nearby. The staff quickly accommodated our group of 20+. We were seated with drinks and food on its way very quickly.
The quality of the food and service here is top notch. So many of the staff checking on us throughout the meal. Very enjoyable!

Our waitress was bad never got refills without having to ask had to go look for her . Food took forever to come out and when it did it was cold . Will never go back

Food was good. We had a fajita plate for two . My only complaint was the amount of meat to tons of vegetables but service was good drinks were good must try a mambo taxi if you like fruity and strong alcoholic drinks

My friend Shannon and I go to this Mi Cocina probably twice a week which pretty much says everything about this restaurant. Deborah is usually there on the days we show up and always has a smile on her face and remembers us. All the servers at the restaurants are very attentive, prompt and knowledgeable. Our recent server Sebastian recommends different dishes which end up being exactly what I was describing what I wanted. He and the other servers are very observant but not pushy and definitely do not interrupt (which is a huge pet peeve). I so enjoy Mi Cocina In Lakewood that I highly recommend it to anyone. Bottom line, Deborah is more than delightful, Sebastian is fabulous in every way and all the staff has been trained to perfection. My husband was in the wine business for years and I know that restaurant service is super super important and that training is a must. So I highly recommend this restaurant because they have done everything right! So go and enjoy!

This was a pretty good place to visit. Myself my husband and my brother-in-law came for lunch. We were given a different waiter in the middle of our meal because our waiter cut his hand pretty badly and they had to escort him out of the restaurant. The only reason I know that is because it is an open kitchen and I literally watched it happen right before I was eating my meal. So needless to say I got lunch and a show. One thing I can say is that there guacamole is amazing. You can tell that it is homemade and you can tell that they actually use fresh ingredients.

Upscale creative Mex-Tex in a great atmosphere. Separate convenient counter for takeout orders. Great lunch specials.

The service was excellent our server was Armando and he made sure our drinks were full the entire time. The food is better than other mi cocinas I ve been to. Would recommend 100%

The food and service were ahead of my expectations. We really liked the environment of this restaurant. Wonderful restaurant to take my family out for dinner.

The food was amazing as always but I found a piece of fabric or hair in my sauce. There for I give a 4

I went in for an interview, the hostess is super sweet. The manager was so welcoming, she made me feel very comfortable. How she handled the customers first was a sign that we see that as an importance eye to eye. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me, I was a walk-in. I hope to join the family there.

Food is good only downfall is there are a lot of screaming kids at this place not the restaurants faults just parents I m there to sit down and have a nice relaxing meal I don t want screaming children running by me the whole time

This is a great location! Service is usually pretty great, as is the food. It is a busy location on the weekends but we often don't have to wait more than 10 minutes for a table during this time. Their chicken enchiladas are amazing!

I loved the service that Abby provided us!!! The food and mambo taxis were awesome too! We will be back and ask for Abby!

You cannot go wrong with Mi Cocina. Everything you can order there is amazing! Their white queso and steak nachos are amazing, and the poblano cream that comes with it takes it to the next level. We go here every time we are in town!

First time visiting this place over the weekend. The food was pretty good, but our waitress was excellent. She made great entree suggestions. Also she told us that she d only been working here a week. I was shocked, never would ve known. Her name is Britany. If you re lucky to get her as a waitress you ll receive attentive service.

Would certainly recommend trying this place. Fantastic vibes, yummy dishes, excellent service. 5 stars.

Absolutely delicious tex-mex restaurant. The service is almost always excellent and they make you feel welcome every time. The food is nicely priced for what you are receiving and the atmosphere of the restaurant is light hearted and inclusive.

Slow service. Went on a Sunday afternoon and not many people were dining. Pros: greeted and seated quickly. Cons: drink order was slow. Waiter check in was few and far in between. At one point we had to go look for our waiter. Slow service when seating in patio. I personally wouldn't come back only bc I'm from Dallas and I know other place that provide the same quality of food with better service.

After several recommendations, we decided to give it a try. Went on a Saturday night. Told the wait would be 30 min. It was about 10 which was nice. The chips came quick, the beer was cold. But the food was sub par. We ordered fajitas. The onions and peppers were barely cooked (the pepper appeared to not be cooked at all). The meal was definitely lacking in flavor. May try again, but have no plans to at this time.

I have been going to Mi Cocina for years. My sister held my baby shower for my oldest child who is now 13. This was the first time I was unhappy with the service. The young lady dropped the check while we were still eating. She also came back a few minutes later while we were still eating and asked if we needed a to go box. I felt rushed. It put a damper on the experience.

My wife and I have been coming to this location for years. It is by far one of Lake Highlands best restaurants and the recent updates only make it that much better.

Had a great time at Lake Highlands Mi Cocina tonight! Our family loves this location and they have done a great job keeping everyone safe during the pandemic. We had a great server tonight named Jorge! The patio is the way to go, they have a great fan with mist. Always great food and great company! I will forever recommend this restaurant!

I ordered a lunch portion of chicken and steak fajitas. Not only did I not receive a sizzling skillet that's synonymous with fajitas but, my lunch was lukewarm. And, my fajitas contained potatoes. I've never had potatoes served with fajitas before. And, adding another layer of disappointment, the fajitas only contained onions, missing red or green bell peppers. I don't know if all of these were errors or if this is Mi Cocina's version of fajitas but, I'll never order that again. On the other hand, the server was quite pleasant.

Service was great, food was ok. Parking......HORRIBLE! Be prepared to drive around over and over to find a parking space.

I want it to put 3 stars and a half. What I love this place is definitely the food and the Mambos. Service is good too.Place is not decorated at all, the Bar and place are, wood there is but simple. They should invest on that.
