Meh. Most of the property was closed even though it was the middle of the day during a holiday week (one would think that the pub and brewery would be open for business). And most of the wait staff seemed to be annoyed that we bothered to come. Our friends, who are locals, love the McMenamins passports and this particular property, and I can see the potential on a sunny, summer day but, I wasn't impressed on this visit...

The hotel is cute and quirky. I loved the property and the art lined walls. Not a huge fan of the shared bath. Shared restrooms could use more attention from the staff, the showers in the morning were not well attended. Room was decent, bed is very firm. With better housekeeping i ould have given this a 5 star.

Decor is fun and quirky but structure is old, so floors creak and door handles are quite loud. In the silence of night this woke me up many times when other guests left their rooms to use the common bathroom. Breakfast was very good but food overall is overpriced, including the Thanksgiving buffet. I would not stay here again.

This place is one of the best things about Portland. The is a lovely garden filled w flowers and hummingbirds where you can sit w your beer and have a conversation while your child enjoys a nature park. Alternatively you can walk the grounds. They're beautiful. There's also golf. In the winter the are fire pits after dark. Beer is fantastic and growler fill up deals on Monday are awesome.

We had so much fun!! The restaurant was a 2 to 3 hour wait, so we headed down stairs to Lucky Staehly's Pool Hall. We were looking to get some dinner before having to take family to the airport. This was so much better there sitting in the restaurant. We had a blast playing pool and the waitresses were so pleasant. It was AWESOME!!

The grounds are an absolute delight to wander and there's no shortage of places to explore to fill your day. This was my 3rd visit, and 1st overnight stay (2 nights!). There is a small elevator that reaches the basement to the 2nd floor, so if you're given a room on the 3rd floor you'll still have to go up a flight of stairs. The beds are also more on the firm side, so if you're used to a soft bed - be warned! No TVs or mini-fridges, and if you get hot there are fans in (presumably) each room. We had the Ringo Starr room which looks out over the Red Shed and it was a great reason to have the curtains drawn & windows open throughout the day. There are a couple of bathtubs available in the communal bathrooms down the hall which is fun if you never get to soak! I love this place.

Dreamy. The grounds are full of trees, bushes, flowers, plants, etc. Just taking a simple stroll around Edgefield is refreshing. The buildings are interesting to look at, tour, or stay the night if you like. The food is good, happy hour is yummy. Always good beer on tap. A movie theater, hot tub/spa (hotel guests only) and glass blowing shop round this out. Oh, and golfing! While up there, visit the distillery, or winery. Never a dull moment. Concerts there are dreamy too. (I almost forgot to add- The random fire pits are great, and make the air smell oh so sweet)

Although we went to Edgefield for their Brewfest, we were allowed nearly unlimited access to the Edgefield property. The property itself is beautifully landscaped, and the buildings have been wonderfully restored. The McMenamins Brothers have made Edgefield---simply put---fun. There are plenty of themed bars and restaurants, as well as a spa, distillery, winery, brewery, gardens, and more. Like many McMenamins properties, artwork is pervasive, with both whimsical and historic artwork and photography, especially in the main lodge. With everything being on the same property. Alcohol is allowed nearly everywhere on the property, so you can get a drink in one bar and wander about the property or to another building.

Friendly staff at every turn on this amazing and expanding property. I wanted to taste each bar and in every the staff gave me an interesting story to remember my travels. Like every McMenamins, seeing & walking around is amazing, and an experience to remember. Plus the Passport Stamps.

First time touring the campus and let me tell you, this place is amazing!!! Spent the evening with friends trying all the different bars and ended the night enjoying some drinks around the bonfire. I've always been a fan of McMenamins food and culture but this is by far the best place to enjoy both. 10 out of 10 will visit again!

Edgefield is a really cool place to go. There's a variety of things to do there (golf, pool, food, and drinks.) the service was fast and the food and drinks were top notch. Could see myself going back before summer ends!

Food and service excellent, prices are fairly high. The building and grounds are wonderful. McMenamins does a great job at repurposing historic buildings and creating unique destinations.

This place is wonderful and I generally love it, however, if you're a McMenamins Passport holder there seems to be a few places here where they are reluctant to stamp your passport. I had a few experiences where there were people just standing behind the bar doing nothing but would require passport holders to get in the longer service line instead of just taking the 5 seconds to stamp your passport. It just feels a bit unkind when you see them standing there doing nothing and you only ask for a stamp and they tell you that you've got to get back in lne to get the stamp as they stand there and watch you slowly get to the bartender only to ask-- "can you stamp my passport please?"

The amount of things to do at this location is crazy? Never golfed before but want to? They have two pitch and putt courses that are fun for any experience level! Also, tour their brewery, distillery AND winery! So many fun bars around this property and great food at the Power Station Pub. Definitely need to stop in at Jerry's Ice House and try some of the liquor flights they offer. So many cool things to do and I am planning on spending the night up there on the next visit!

Fun place to go with friends, or with your significant other. Honestly it used to be much better- but in the last 10 years or so seems to have gotten so busy that it has lost some of its allure. The check in staff can be pretentious and a little condescending- Some of them seem to be young and only care about looking cool in their vintage clothes, rather than serving you as a guest. Don't get me wrong the place is great- the soaking pool, and many onsite locations to eat and drink make it great all inclusive sort of place- The prices are getting out of hand though- if you can find a vacancy you will pay $150+ for a room with bare bones amenities, and a shared bathroom. You used to be able to stay for under $100- which seemed appropriate.

Unlike any hotel, interesting and amusing original artwork blankets the entire estate, inside and out. Exceptionally welcoming staff help create an air of " we aren't in the states anymore" ( true freedom). Numerous bars, and entertainment, coupled with spa, amphitheater, pitch and putt, garden meandering, restaurants, winery, movie theater... And the place could be an arboretum due to the diversity of plant life which adds color and beauty throughout. All with the often overlooked, but wonderful, privilege of being able to gallivant with your drink, down the road, as you check out and partake in all there is to keep one happily captivated. Thank you Mcmenamins!

I was a recent fan of McMenamins, especially the Edgefield location. Until today. We got tickets to see a concert, and our tickets specified that doors opened at 5. So we arrived just before 5. To a MASSIVE, ill-managed line. The line was so ridiculous, it wound up to the very farthest point of the property. No joke. Once we got in line, we realized that the end of the line was MUCH MUCH closer to the entrance than walking all the way up the line like everyone was doing, which was completely unnecessary, had one of the 'Crowd Management' employees done any directing whatsoever. We were in line for over an hr, once we got to the top. Then, after we get through the pointless metal detectors, we're told that food and drinks were cash only. Not mentioned anywhere during the ticket transaction or follow-up emails. And we were starving, and not about to go out for cash, and have to go back through the line. So, we were very hangry.
So. Beware. If you are there for a concert, it's going to be ridiculously overcrowded and take forever to get sub par seats. I won't do it again. I'd rather buy assigned seating in an arena. They have much better crowd management.

Who knows? Never stayed. We are trying to eat here but they seriously took over an hour to get a burger and a BLT made. Wow! I would be embarrased!!
It took 20 min. just to get us waters. Never again!

One of the best hotel/restaurants around. A "must experience" place. Eating, drinking, lodging, golf, pool, gardens, walking, histroy, musical events, just to name a few. Locals and travelers will find a way, to always come back. Home made beers, wines, and spirits. Fine dinning or casual, indoors or outdoors. The best, staff anywhere !

The ambiance is always good here, and the beer is always great. Whether I'm just in for a quick bite and a beer, or dinner and drinks with friends, I appreciate that I can always count on McMenamins to never disappoint.

Great place to eat, drink, explore. We have come here for romantic evenings, employee parties, training/conference events, family dinners, and afternoon drinks. Lots of events and different things to do if you are staying at the hotel or attending a concert. Great location.

Lots of different restaurants inside, the one we visited was too expensive and so we left. We didn't know there were multiple places to eat, but now we do and so we will be visiting again soon.

Okay, but you have to be okay about walking around in a robe, possibly running into small children and their mothers and /or any random guest or visitor to the hotel / restaurant / venue Center.

One finds oneself walking in a robe down a bare hallway to get to a restroom, which is the norm in these European style rooms. Our room did not even come with a small sink, so even washing up required a trek down a hallway. A bit drafty.

Also because our room was not far from the gift shop we encountered visitors and not necessarily Hotel guests.

Always enjoy strolling the grounds and buildings at Edgefield. So many sights to see and art work is everywhere when you take the time to look. The staff is friendly and helpful. As an example, when the film we wanted to watch was delayed, we were offered complimentary drinks and movie tickets. The only issue for us was the evening music performance in Wine Cellar. It was Way too loud (couldn t hear the lyrics over the guitar). The performer was asked to increase the vocal level (which he did), but it just made the total volume louder.
