An adult playground. What cant i say good about this place? Always come here for the experience of relaxation and visiting little nooks and crannies while having a drink. Golf course is relaxing, and the glass blowing was cool to watch. Love all the little bars.

Pricey, stamped out in typical mcminimums fashion, but still enjoyable.

The food in the restaurant was perhaps the best mcminimums fair I've ever had. Though their wine is absurdly priced, the cocktails yielded a decent ROI.

The heated pool is the highlight of the whole establishment.

Food and service was fantastic. The selections so varied there was plenty of choices in both food and drink. Atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. We stayed for several hours visiting and will be going back.

One of my favorite places to spend time, visit with friends, eat & drink, and simply escape. Edgefield is a world of it's own. Everything from curated gardens, to a european style hotel, to concerts and movies, to a brewery , winery, and distillery. Great grounds to walk and wander, small bars scattered about (The Little Red Shed is so great, especially on a chilly winter evening with a great warming wood fire), and a wide variety of dining options. The white table cloth Black Rabbit features locally sourced and inspired meals. The Power Station is a classic brewpub and also provides food the Loading Dock and Theater. Lucky's is a sports bar with pizza and wraps. The entire property is full of history and art, it was once the county poor farm. Weekends, particularly in the summer, can get busy but during the week it is nearly always manageable crowds.

We attended a concert. It was professionally run, with the staff moving the large amounts of people in and around the venue quickly and while being very friendly. We enjoyed our food, and the concert itself very much. Afterwards, we really enjoyed a drink inside the Hotel, the atmosphere is so fun and funky! We would love to come eat in the restaurant, or stay in the Hotel next time!

The food at the Black Rabbit was amazing, ridiculously priced for what it was though. Our server was horrible, took him over an hour to take our orders. Went up to the top bar by the fire pit & they were super slow as well. We love the environment though so that's why we keep coming back.

Sooo...I just got back from a 6 month trip around the world including 3 months in Southeast Asia, and this was the worst hotel experience I had in that span of time. We stayed in room 315, Bastian Meyer. The room we rented was $90 a night. Let me describe what you get for that money. You will have the privilege of parking half a mile away from the entrance in a giant field of mud. You will also have the luxury of being able to clearly make out every single word the person in the room next to you is saying, due to the 200 year old paper thin walls. For your comfort, the mattress will be as old and misshapen as the building, your pillow will be little more than an old sack of cotton balls smashed together, and these rest conveniently on a bed with wheels as the feet so that it can easily roll around your room when you are not expecting it to. There is no bathroom in your room so you will be able to enjoy walking down multiple hallways in the middle of the night, over floorboards so creaky that you are concerned you might fall through them, in order to get to the nearest communal bathroom. And remember that you will also be able to hear very clearly every time anyone else does the same thing, because the walls are 200 years old and paper thin. There will be a Mason jar sitting on the desk with two pint glasses. When you fill this at the bar with beer, and then take it to the soaking pool, you will then be spoken to as if you were a small child and told that you are not allowed to drink it, that obviously it is for "to go" only and that you must purchase other drinks. Oh also there is free coffee in the lobby. Honestly, I love the McMenamin's restaurants, but save yourself some money and do not stay the night here.

After hiking all day, my wife and I stopped here for aa beverage and a quick bite to eat. We split a charcuterie plate, which was very tasty. My wife had a flight of Edgefield red wines, which she enjoyed, and I had the Imperial Red Ale, which was also very good. We wandered around a bit after, and were very impressed by the place as a whole.

Nice place, weird that each room didn't have its own bathroom and there is a communal bathroom. The hot tub is awesome! The beer and food is alright. If it was better this place would be unstoppable because the scene is really unique and interesting.

Lot to see. The par 3 course is a kick but go for a tee time on weekends. The dining runs the gamut from burgers and fries to a real sitdown dinner at the Black Rabbit.
Check their website for special goings on.

I love this place, and all it s quirkiness. However, it could use some improvements. We were there 3 days, each day we saw there was a cleaning cart in the hall way, but no cleaning was observed. The public baths were not swept, the same toilet paper pieces, as well as dental floss was still on the floor each day, and the shower wasn t clean. The carpets weren t vacuumed or tables cleaned off. The old furniture was dirty and smelled. They had a coffee station in the hallway, which was very nice, but the day we were leaving, there wasn t any creamer. I notified a employee of the restaurant and she said she would let someone know, a half hour went by and no creamer. I then told a cleaning person hanging out in the towel and supplies room, and she notified someone, but the creamer never came. I went and asked her if it was coming, but she said someone took it. They couldn t come with a few containers or small carafes of cream? Also, you have to go to check-in to borrow a hair dryer. Other than this, we had a wonderful stay and will return soon.

This hotel is funky and fun. Don't expect a traditional hotel experience. Only a few rooms have attached bathrooms. Your room may have a single electrical outlet. The restaurant is good, and there are multiple bars. This place captures Portland in a nutshell.

The vibe is second to none when visiting edgefield. The beds however are pretty awful. You'll wake up a little sore. The bedrooms that have bathrooms only have tubs no showers. Not a big deal for us but should be noted. Overall experience was great because of the general mcmenamins feel.

Think of Edgefield like a drinking and culinary amusement park. There's something for everyone. Grab a beer or mixed drink from the distillery and drunkenly play par3 golf on their course (make reservations, this thing fills up fast), wander the gardens with a glass of fine locally-made wine, head to the power station pub for the storied tots and great seasonal brews, black rabbit restaurant for weird combinations of high-end food, the pub downstairs for pool, the hotel, spa, the amazing concert venue with top-tier acts, and I could go on forever. Bored and have a friend or 2? Hang out at Edgefield.

My husband and I had a late lunch at the outside eating area. It was a bit cold, so tgey had the fires going. And they had the umbrellas up in case it rained. Made it nice to be outside. Hummus plate was tasty and came out quickly. My burger and tots was very good, as was my husband's pizza. We had a nice relaxing lunch and were able to enjoy thr outdoors even on a day where the weather wasn't so great.

This is a neat experiece if you are from out if town! Food is mediocre, beer is alright, liqours made here are good, but you go for the experience. Originally a poor house, the grounds have been restored and are lovely. Ruby's spa on premise is also really nice!

Our time at Edgefield was wonderful but Erin at the Red Shed was definitely the highlight of our stay; she was very welcoming and she made our visit memorable! Hats off to the rest of the hotel staff as well as the gal working at the theater Thursday night for being accommodating and helpful.

Edgefield is Portland's (even tho not technically Portland) hidden gem. Whether you're a local or visiting, it has something for everyone. No other bar experience like it in the metro area. So much to see and so much to drink and eat. Every visit is a new experience

The restruant was about as good as any other McMenamins, very average. The service was good, despite there having been a large number of tables full. Overall enjoyed it, but the price for the food is not worth it.

Nice historical and beautiful place to stay that s...

Nice historical and beautiful place to stay that seems to double not only as a hostel but a hotel with many other activities to occupy yourself. They make their own and there is a small bar on the first floor to lounge. I got there after dark but the grounds seems big and beautiful. The clerk said the place was built in 1912 ( if I remember correctly) and it shows. The hostel room I had was on the third floor had eight bunk beds with corresponding lockers. You're given a card to access the room and a key to lock your locker. Inside the lockers you're given about three towels and miniature size soap, conditioner and shampoo. You access the bath area with your room card and inside you have six separate full size bathrooms with a shower or tube. Another cool feature about the private bath was the window on the door covered with curtains. Instead of opening the door to talk with someone, you can just pull back the curtains; you can keep yourself concealed and be polite at the same time. The private bathroom is almost worth the cost of the hostel although I gave this place five my dislikes was the eight bunk beds, too many people occuping a room. Nevertheless, everyone was quiet and considerate (thanks partly to my ear plugs) before I knew it I was waking up to a dark room with everyone fast asleep. Which brings me to the other issue--night lights. They should have them for safety and comfortability. There is also no microwave or refrigerator for the hostel rental. Lastly, the location for people taking public transportation. The bus stop coming and going is right in front of the road leading into the property. If you miss that stop you will have to walk a spell and there's no side walks or pedestrian space; you have to walk along the side of the road. In conclusion, I highly recommend visit for a night or two.

Always a fun unique atmosphere & as usual indifferent if not unfriendly bartenders. They do not train their bartenders to be friendly to the customers so be ready for that. Beautiful grounds & park-like atmosphere. We hit the little red shed, Jerry's Icehouse, The Black Rabbit bar & the Power station pub. Lots of fun.
