This place has something for everyone. Hard to even count the number of bars and places to eat tucked on this historic poor farm. Good food, great beer, often busy. Good place rain or shine.

What more can be said about McMenamins? What a concept! The staff is helpful and courteous. For our 35th anniversary we stayed at the hotel and ate at the restaurant. We concluded that it was well worth the time to stay at Edgefield. The short walks in the garden, the quick round of golf, and the pool were all memorable activities.

This compound was so much fun. We came for a friends wedding and got to spend the whole weekend roaming the grounds and exploring all its nooks and crannies. The glass blowing was enthralling to watch.

This is a playground for grown ups! So many fun things to do and see, and the historic building is so well kept! McMenamin s does it right, that is for sure. More on the 4 star review, let me gush a little first.
We sat outside for a beer before dinner with our dog! I love a pet friendly place! It was lovely outside - we were in the courtyard for the Black Rabbit restaurant, but there were many wonderful outdoor places to sit. Dinner at the Black Rabbit (sans dog, inside) was delicious. Please don t order the full order of the truffle tots unless you don t mind being too full by the time dinner rolls around. We wanted to do some wine tasting - and why not? They are open until 10pm! - but we were too full and tired after dinner!
The room and bed were comfortable - a box fan was supplied but we didn t use it because of the cooler temps.
Breakfast the next morning found us in a cozy booth drinking loose leaf Earl Grey tea, listening to classical music and eating perfectly cooked eggs.
The only problem we both ran into was the common bathrooms. We didnt get a room with a private bath, but we had been camping for a week and didn t figure it would matter. But the common baths weren t getting cleaned and the women s bathroom ran out of toilet paper. I let the front desk know and still...no toilet paper.
Still, I can t wait for my next McMenamin s experience!!

Classic, vintage, attention to detail, art, music, great food and drinks, good company, and no TV's in the rooms! Walk around, look at the art, find hidden rooms, soak in the wading pool, sit around a bonfire, and just relax here. My wife and I love it here. Our toddler loves it here too. One of our favorite destinations!

An amazing place... Old school Manor, with a loads of charm! The grounds are very nice. With lots of "hidden" places to find; to eat, attend, or just hang out and have a drink. Rooms are nice (at least for a hostel), maintained, and over seen by a great staff.

Such an amazing place to be. So much to see. I actually do not want to leave. We will be back for sure. The Wine Cellar is the place to be. Strawberry Basil Cider is just wonderful! Sorry it is seasonal.

Excellent venue for a medium amphitheater sized show. Many nooks and crannies by which to get a fresh, locally made beverage, though their unwillingness to allow drinks bought on premises but outside the venue is unfortunate. $2+ more per drink on the same property is the only reason this isn't a five star review.

Great experience as always. This is a great local gem and it's recommend visiting during happy hours (3-6pm and 10pm-midnight) in the middle of the week when there aren't too many other guests. The fire pits are always my favorite and it seems like they have staff regularly adding firewood logs every 40 minutes or so. Lots of indoor and outdoor options as well! I haven't checked out the sauna or extra amenities yet but have only heard great things so far. Super friendly staff as well. There's one server with a Star Wars tie clip I see fairly often. Extra points to that guy.

The concert in the park was awesome - great spot, there was quality sound equipment and plenty of amenities (food tents, drinks, chair rentals, etc). We also had drinks at the bar on site (by the golf green), which were delicious and strong. ;) The only suggestions I have are geared toward the staff in the car, which seemed to be annoyed that there were so many people coming in as a result of the event. Additionally, some coverage (tents) or a line that wraps underneath the tree line or something of the like for concerts that are sold out would be awesome. Otherwise, we had an amazing time, people were super nice and the entire venue was beautiful.

This place is great for summer weddings. One of my good friends has his wedding reception and it fit about 150 people comfortable. The reception was in a big lawn area where the guests sat and right next to it there was a cocktail/dining area where the food was served. Not sure what the area was called but it was right before the golf course. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was great. Beer selection was good. Food tastes great. I would definitely recommend this place for your summer festivities. Keep up the good work Mcmenamins Edgefield!

Went for the first annual Beer fest! Probably a hundred different taps! Had a blast. Free parking. Only cost $30 bucks which gets you ten beer tokens and a Beer Fest glass! Additional tokens were cheap. Highly recommend this place whether it's Beer fest or not.

Have visited Edgefield a couple times. Most recent we met with Robyn for a consultation regarding potential wedding plans on the property. He was a delight and very helpful. We're probably going to have our wedding there because of how beautiful the grounds are. Would recommend. To qoute a friend "it's an adult Disneyland with alcohol"

One of our favorite places to go on a sunny day and just walk around. Lots of options with various bars & restaurants and open space. Great for groups, with reasonable prices. Set on an old poor farm, McMenamins did a great job redoing it. All within close distance to Portland.

The property that Edgefield occupies is beautiful and unique. A lot to explore! It feels like you are way off the beaten path, but in reality you are minutes from town. As usual, McMenamins food and drink are awesome! But the atmosphere is top notch here.

Words cannot express how wonderful our stay has been thus far, which is a direct reflection of the amazing staff and quirky surprises around every corner of this estate. I absolutely LOVE spending time here and the staff are always delightful. This particular ular stay, we we're surprised with the B.B. King room, which is beyond amazing and amazing bar staff the very first night! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quirky adventure in the Portland area!

Fantastic getaway. There's something enticing for everyone. From the unique restaurants and bars, to playing 9 or 18 at the golf course, wine tasting in the cool winery, and to finish the evening with the spa and soaking pool. It's always a great place to be.

Multiple bars on site, I love playing pool downstairs during the colder seasons and drinking on the golf course when it's warmer. Its a fun place to go anytime with family and/or friends. It has an amazing venue for concerts, I've seen a few and they've alwasy been well worth it. Parking is adequate and signs are everywhere because its a pretty expansive place, if you still can't find your way, just ask one of the friendly staff members!

I've been going to McMenamins for years and love their pub fare. This time we went to Edgefield for a friends birthday and had a reservation at the Black Rabbit restaurant. Upscale menu with a little more laid back vibe. I had the halibut and it was cooked perfectly, would definitely recommend. Just be prepared to spend more than you normal burger and tots prices.

You can never go wrong stopping at Edgefield.. There are several out buildings for any type of mood or event, no matter the season..
I ve seen some of the best concerts ever, out on their lawn..
Stayleys pool hall is down below the Hotel, it always has a great vibe! Shuffle Board, pool and a great place to have convos over pizza..
The Black Rabbit is fine dining at its best, with some of the best wine ever on their wine list.. Summertime out on the patio is a great place to meet your friends and take in the great energy..
The garden is alive with so many different types of vegetation, from herbs, to flowers and vegetables.. Cool benches to sit and chat while sipping your favorite beverage..
Then you have the cigar hut, I don t smoke, and I love sitting by the wood stove out there on the ninth hole..
Garcias is always rocking the Grateful Dead in that little venue out there..
I ve had the opportunity to catch some amazing jazz artists downstairs in their wine cellar..
Annnnd, you must watch the sun set over the grape vines..
Therefore this is one of my favorite places ever!!

The total experience was fantastic! The grounds, the building, the staff, and the food were all great. Driving up and seeing this building was a bit of a surprise. At the entrance were the grapes of the Vineyard. Then we walked in the building and transported back 60-80 years in time. The tour was great to hear how it all came about. I highly recommend a visit with the tour and a meal!
