This is truly a fun destination. Where else can you stay in a historic hotel, tour a winery, distillery, and brewery, while enjoying several unique bars and restaurants? The grounds were beautiful in their autumnal splendor, and the did and drinks were amazing. Staff was friendly, helpful, and informative when we had questions about the history of each location.
Quirky, strange, historic, charming. Feels like a very old school that's been converted to use as a hotel with as little done to it as possible. Stayed in a hostel room, was a great value. Good food and beer as well. Would definitely stay again.
Always love drinks here, first time going down to Lucky's and was pleasantly surprised by the display of pub games. Just so many fun things to do here at Edgefield! (:
Handcrafted grand old hotel sits among acres of vineyards and plentiful activities. Grounds include multiple restaurants and bars, a movie theater, soaking pool and spa, pool hall, golf course and more. Makes for a fantastic retreat just outside of Portland at the gateway to the Columbia River gorge.
Edgefield is always a blast. Alcohol can be consumed throughout the property so you can go from brunch, to golf, to bar, to pub, to outdoor fire in the evening, then take it back inside for some pool; with a drink in your hand all the while. Edgefield contains so many unique locations and experiences within itself that a review would take forever to expand upon. It's a must see.

When we showed up, we were told that the wait for a table would be about 45 minutes, and they would call us when it was ready. While we were waiting we went to lucky's and we're able to play pool and have a beer. This was the only reason Edgefield didn't get 1 star. After a little over an hour and a half, we went to go check what was going on. They informed us it would be, at minimum, an additional 45 minutes. So we left.
I've always appreciated the McMenamins locations for their artistic awesomeness, and their level of fun. We brought our pup to the Edgefield this trip and we're grateful to have options of things to do with her there. Our waiter yesterday even brought her ice water in a bowl to keep her happy. However, we may not go back in the summer again to stay the night due to being crowded out of the outdoor seating by the multitudes of visitors that are there for the day/evening. The Courtyard seating closes at 8:00 PM, and the Loading Dock's wait times were over an hour. It seems like a second outdoor summer restaurant venue would be of benefit to them. We'll try an April or perhaps a late September visit next time.
This review is only for the grounds. We are biked there and took a water break under the umbrellaed picnic tables near the golf course. So, great place to check out and walk around but next time will need to grab some food and drink.
Awesome place to just hang out for a beer at the Little Red Shed or grab a burger at the Power Station. Excellent service and I will defiantly continue to come back.
A great destination that's not too far away if you're staying in Portland. We started by watching some glass blowing, followed by beers and a movie in the theatre. Topped it off with a great tasting flight at the winery. This place has enough going on to keep you entertained for a good half day trip. I highly recommend it.
Went here for breakfast. The food and service were both good, however, I don't think it was worth the price. It has a cool atmosphere which explains why it costs so much. I will probably go back but are there are definitely better places for a better value.
The grounds were beautiful. My three year old son loved riding his bike and running around the trails. The food was delicious, and the service was great!
Disneyland for people who like to drink! Great food and drinks, a movie theater, golf course, events, concerts, parties, fire pits, wine tastings and more. A local favorite!
Edgefield is always a great place to go to get a bite to eat. With all the different restaurants around the property, you're sure to find something to your taste and a good drink too go with it.
Parking can be touch and go though if an event is going on while you're there. The overflow parking is field parking. But otherwise a great place to visit.
Great food! I had the grilled King salmon and my wife had the seared scallops. They were both perfectly prepared. I had the caesar salad. It was good but I wanted more anchovy flavor. It also had 3 times as much parmesan cheese as I have ever had in a salad. Fortunately, I really like parmesan. Friendly waiter Dan was good
Awesome location, great place to wander and just get lost. Lots of great small bars, a full spa, soaking pool, restaurants and firepits make for a great place to stay!
I love this McMenamins. Lots of eating and drinking options. Great lodge with fun, old school amenities. We love the little theater. I have been to two weddings here and the outdoor venue is excellent.
This place is teeming with life during the spring months as the flowers start to blossom. With a wide acreage, there is much to explore and see. Grab a glass of beer and enjoy it all. You can even have your hand at buzzed putt putt golf. The movie theater is a great experience where you can dine and sip on a fine craft beer. Kids are welcome in the lower section. The rooms bring you back to the era of year's past. Plenty of coasters to sit your beer on. I believe we stayed in on of the haunted rooms but don't remember seeing any paranormal activity.
This is a beer, spirits, and wine lovers mecca. Not to mention northern Oregon late 1800s early 1900s history porn. All staff is exceptionally friendly and all food and drink is beyond their good reviews. I highly recommend a weekend stay here.
My wife and I have made this our annual anniversary spot for the last three years. We get a room, soak in the pool, watch a movie, play a game of shuffleboard or darts or pool or pinball, walk through the gardens, listen to the live bands, eat delicious food, she likes the ciders I like the stouts. The staff has always been great; the hotel staff, wait staff, and the bartenders. Everyone that works there has been happy and helpful. Get a passport and get the stamps. Finish the quest and become a Cosmic Tripster. The Edgefield will redefine what you thought a "bar" could be.
Armed person showed up and Edgefield did not bother to evacuate the area (75 minutes)and call police? Do not go there as there is a BIG hole in security.People were able to pass thru while detectors are beeping!
Walking the grounds of this place makes me feel truly happy. the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion, the staff members are kind and helpful. I love coming here!Also- try the black rabbit red. sO good.
Wow where to start. The hotel staff thought charging $50 per person with a minimum of 50 people is an okay deal for apatisers for a wedding....when the small Casserole Dish fed only 28 people they exclamed "that's all you ordered " on top of being very rude to guests. Over all.. Not happy
We went to see a movie on opening weekend. Love the theater, but had a little difficulty finding it, as signage was not very specific to point out which direction. You can wonder quite awhile before finding where you need to be. Which isn't a terrible thing at Edgefield because the grounds are so amazing, they are almost magical! Just go with plenty of time before the start of a movie!
Portland area snobbery at its best. Although they have sufficient security, there were too many drunks keeping me up and they made a lot of things difficult for me.
It's fantastic, for the atmosphere and shuffleboard! Actually really creepy if you know the history. The problem, along with every McMenamins is the food is mediocre at best and priced like eggs from a golden goose. The beer is decent, but the kind of options for beer in the Pacific Northwest trounce Mcmenamins.
I'm love McMenamins, and have been to several locations. This time around, I was staying the weekend with friends. Edgefield was beautiful and fun, and I loved the underground bar in particular. There are alot of different activities, from pool to wine and beer tasting to golf, plus their delicious menu! The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful, which I have come to expect from Mcmenamins. For me, though, golf and wine aren't really my thing, and are in the spotlight of this location, so while I had a great time, I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to return unless it's another gathering with friends. Which location will I post about next, I wonder? I do need to get my stamps for Kennedy House again, since my passport was stolen.
McMenamins Edgefield is hands-down, one of the BEST places to go chill and hang out at in the Portland Metro area! Great food and drinks (that you get to walk around with), and great service! I recommend their pizza, philly cheesesteak, or of course, the CAJUN TOTS!!!!
The Edgefield is also one of, if not the BEST music venue in the Pacific NW! Outdoor venue, nicely kept grounds, throw down a blanket or bring a low-lying lawn chair, and enjoy!
Great place to roam around. Enjoy friends and drink beer. So many little places to go and see around the property, fire pits outside, multiple bars, each unique. Concerts, spa. Great history here as well.
Food good. Service good. The day I was last there they didn't have the outside kitchen open despite the fact that it was a beautiful day. That was because they weren't expecting the nice weather. It was understandable, though the extra wait on food was a little annoying. Overall though, been there quite a number of times, and that was the worst experience I've had there, so I'd say pretty solid place for food. Never rented a room so i can't comment on that. My limited experience in there theater was positive.
I really like McMenamin's. I don't love it, but I get what they're trying to do and I support the effort. It's not always perfect, and sometimes it's a little funky and the beer is nothing to write home about. But, always a chill place to see interesting things, hear good music, and enjoy adult beverages all the while.
Had a burger and coffee for brunch. Both very good. Service was actually really excellent, which is somewhat unusual on this coast. The property is really cool too, go find the Jerry statue next to the concert field.
Saw Weird Al. Great Sound. Good food offerings at moderate prices. Staff was very helpful and polite. The only negative was more my physical issues than venue. If you have mobility problems, it is a long hike to the front gate. I was informed by the staff that I could have requested ADA provisions by calling Edge field.
