For me 'the worst day of the year' was in September when our familiy reunion was abruptly upended when we were sent packing in the dark of night, evacuated do to water damage, with no where to go. We had two family members from out of state in walkers. Others were from out of state. Our briefcase was stolen Never again A nightmare.

This place is known for great concerts and their spa, but I've only ever been for dinner and to fill a growler. The dinner was a grilled cheese and butternut squash sandwich, which was amazing. I've been trying to recreate it for years. My wife loves the spa and comes gor concerts with her friends on the regular and loves it. I'd love to come to a show sometime too.

Great venue for concerts, awesome beer, spirits and wine selection throughout the property. The salt water soaking pool is beautiful and serene. Many different hotel rooms each with their own story. Such a fun place to spend the weekend.

Good food and service in a variety of venues.
My daughter was married there several years ago and I have some fond memories of the event including staying in the hotel.
I picked up a colorful piece of hand-blown glass today for my collection and watched the folks working in the studio.

Edgefield has a lot of offer, from tiny, quiet bars to large noisy beer halls, as well as resort type amenities such as a huge outdoor spa (hot tub) that has it's own bar. We watched the latest popular movie the weekend it was released in their theater where we were served pub food and our favorite McMenanins brewed beverages just before the movie started.

A real gym of the Portland area. It's beautiful landscape and stunning architecture makes it very comfortable and a joy to walk around in. The food is very consistent between visits you get basically the same level of quality every time. The food's not amazing, but the food's not bad either. And I feel very similar about their beer. Their local Pinot Noir has a nice dry taste, which I found very good. I like how there's always a bar just around the corner to grab a drink or a cigar the smoke while exploring the beautiful grounds.

I'm not going to give it a full review bc I've never actually stayed there but the inside is very pretty and has a little coffee shop area and a gift shop. The coffee is good and they have other drinks plus pastrys and etc.

We LOVE the place and have been customers since the 70's - however some overseeing needs go happen as at the soaking pool this morning there were still part cups hanging in piles arfound the pools edge - AND our $60 room service meal was not just Luke warm but the cinnamon roll hasn't even been warmed up --- REALLY GUYS

I have enjoyed every trip here! Love all the tiny bars and places to stop and have a drink. There are outside fire pits and in almost every little bar there's a fireplace so cozy! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that I'm not impressed with the food menu very limited and I've only had burgers... all though the fries are amazing and they always have Portland ketchup

Food was great. Our waitress could have been a little more on top of it. She forgot about our drinks and didn't bring over plates to out ketchup on. Hoping it was just an off day for her.

This is a converted barn turned into a cool hotel/bar/restaurant/spa/everything. We had dinner at the Black Rabbit and strolled the grounds. Dinner was a delicious local salmon, preceded by a Mcmenamins beer flight. I highly recommend the Ruby Ale. There were garden, wine, and pool bars onsite as well. If you are visiting Portland, definitely put this place on list to visit.

It was a delight the staff were incredibly kind the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I was there to see Edward Sharpe one night and Cage the Elephant the second couldn't have had a greater time.

The food and drinks were great, the service was great Our server was patient and friendly and easy to get along with. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and didn't feel pressured to leave when we were chatting afterward. The restaurant and campus are beautiful.

We love Edgefield and visit every chance we get. There are hidden works of art, seemingly everywhere you turn and the experience is different each time we stop by. We've taken friends, family, and even our children and can tailor the visit to what we want. With kiddos we've walked the grounds, grabbed burgers at Power station, sat around the fire pits, and read the ghost logs. With friends we've shared drinks at the winery and various other bars, played a little golf, and caught a movie. We've even done done photo shoots here for a few friends. The thing we seem to do EVERY visit though... Cajan tots. Seriously, get them. While you're at it, ask about getting a Passport.

It was a great experience! We recently got our McMenamin's Passports, so we came to get our stamps and to have dinner and drinks! Our server was wonderful (Johnny Patrick) in the Power Station restaurant!

Staff were very nice and food was quickly served. I ate there with my family outside during the day and it was very polite of them to ask whether we wanted to sit in the shade or the sun.

Waitress was really attractive and made me second guess the choices I've made in my life
You can stroll around a beautiful old place that's really well maintained and eat decently

Check in was disorganized and I was given almost no information about the hotel let alone how to found my room. Had to go back for a map, the second time at desk was better, (different person) pointed me to the distillery. Liked all the small bars scattered about and the staff there were great. Ate dinner at the Powerhouse and the Cajun tater tots were amazing. My burger had to go back because it was cold by the time I got it. Second one was good. Got back to my room at about 8pm and discovered I was not alone in my room. I was sharing it with a swarm of mosquitoes. I spent the next 45 minutes exterminating them. I shimmed my window shut because they were coming in through the gap. Settled down at about 9pm only to laugh about all the "please be quiet and courteous" signs because whoever was above me was apparently prepping for a furniture moving exam the following morning. The rearranging of the room lasted about 20 minutes. Then the running up and down the halls started. Honestly the noise didn't bother me, I'm prior military and can sleep through almost anything, I just want people to be informed. If you want to stay in an old building with your shared bathroom somewhere down the hall, I guess this is the place for you. I've stayed in worse places, but then again I didn't have to pay for it. Highly recommend the distillery and I'm taking a bottle of the Monkey Puzzle home with me. The pool hall and the wine bar were also nice.

Over priced food. Bar & Tavern fare is quite limited and on the expensive end. When the weather is good, dining outside is Nice. Functionally arranged with several areas to drink in, wine tasting bar is seperate from the tavern & pool hall. Their Black Rabbit restaurant is good with interesting meal items, but the adjacent bar offers a quite limited menu. As a place to take someone to see glass blowing and a leisurely stroll after a meal it's a nice choice. As far as a place to go for a few drinks and a meal, there are other choices closer to Portland.

I love Edgefield. I visit there at least once a month. There's so much to see, smell, taste and experience. Lucky staley's is the best kind of bar. Between the pool tables, dart boards and shuffle board there's never a dull moment. The power station has the best service in town. The food is always top notch.

I have come here a few times for events, concerts, and usually just food. It's a great location and one of my favorite among McMenamins! Sadly in the past 2 years it's gotten very crowded. Even on non-sunny days you'll have to wait to get a seat. I recommend it for their food and beautiful location but plan ahead to be in line for awhile.

Great place to stay or eat. The black rabbit is the fancy restaurant and has a menu that features fresh locally grow indrediance. The power station has all their normal pub food and is a good place to go after work with friends for drinks. They have a summer concert series on the lawn that's also super fun.
