I went to see a movie with my family and I loved that you could watch the movie while you eat dinner. The food was pretty good and the movie tickets were pretty cheap. Its a nice place to spend an evening.

A super win for a great place when the family friends or anyone is visiting. Bartenders are great - wait staff typical of all McMenamins not super. The cool places like this are all worth it. Stay away from the mall restaurants as a chain not good - just convenient with good beer.
Probably the coolest of all mcmenamins locations. Different drink and good menus at each of the restaurants and bars at Edgefield. It seems like each time I go I find a new part of the campus. The black rabbit restaurant is a little spendy, very good, and portions are big. Excellent concert venue, but expect hour long wait for your table if you go on a concert day and show up very early if you want good parking.
The rooms are large and comfortably furnished. They include nice bathrobes and plenty of pillows. The rooms don't have bathrooms or tvs. There's so much to do on the property, you won't miss the tv. The huge hot soaking pool more than makes up for not having a private tub. There's even a bar at the pool! There are so many bars on the property, you would have a hard time drinking at all of them. There's tons of art to look at and stories to read. Bring a book and curl up in one of the many comfy chairs or go out and play a round of golf, play darts, pool, or shuffleboard, or stay in bed and order a pizza. You're pretty much guaranteed to feel re-charged and relaxed after visiting.
Had pizza in the pub. We were told to check this place out but were a bit overwhelmed by all the different restaurants to choose from. Wish we had done more research in advance. That being said, the grounds are lovely and our pizza was delicious.
Edgefield is my favorite Mcmenamins location for many reasons. It has so many amenities and things to do. I could spend all day simply finding cozy reading nooks with gorgeous views of the beautiful grounds. But why would I do that when I can visit one of the many restaurants or bars and enjoy delicious food and drinks. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It is as if they really do love working there (and I believe they do). The 3-par golf course is quaint and fun. The concerts are incredible and have an intimate feel. There's a day spa and a small pottery shop filled with art by local artisans. But my favorite place at Edgefield is the hot pool, surrounded by a myriad of vegetation, it feels like you are a million miles from anywhere. I definitely give this entire place my stamp of approval.
So many choices for eating and drinking and other entertainment at this estate. Beautiful grounds; I wish they had labels for the varied trees and bushes.
Everything was lovely. Great music and drinks. It took 2 hours to get a table, and another 40 minutes for food. At least there are lots of things to do while you wait.
I love going to this place. The grounds are amazing and the alcohol is good. The food, however, is much to be desired. It's overpriced and subpar in comparison to what's available in Portland.
Always a fun place to stay with numerous bars, restaurants, live music, and interesting, quirky accommodations. You can stay here as cheap as $30 per night in a hostel type room all the way up to $150 or so for the nicer rooms. They have shared, common-room type bathrooms and showers, so make sure you're cool with that. The have a spa, gold course, winery, distillery, and 70 acres or so of beautiful grounds to explore.
Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere, and the service was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and they love four legged friends. Would highly recommend!
This place is awesome... and big. It is a converted poorfarm, and the campus includes a hotel, concert venue, golf course, spa, winery, event spaces, restaurants, movie theater, and seemingly innumerable bars. Something for everyone. You couldn't go wrong staying overnight, and just exploring the place.
Expect to wait 90 minutes for sub-par food and for all of the bartenders to dislike you. Don't take it personally: for 20 years Mcmenamins has been short-changing its employees in favor of a bigger profit. With these tenents in place you can enjoy the intereeting botany.
Sooooooo embarrassing ! Brought out of town guests, who are in the restaurant industry for over 50 years. We raved how the food was good, the service is good and then we added guests. Wrong thing to do. It was over an hour to get our food. We all ordered sandwiches and a kids pizza. My kid's pizza came out 20 mins before we got our SANDWICHES after an hour. SANDWICHES I SAY! 3 People ordered the "fireside "roasted turkey with Fireside cranberry relish secret sauce. It was so secret they couldn't find it on their deli slices of turkey, Jared cranberry jam on store bought bread. On our hogheads BBQ salmon sandwich there was supposed to be a secret sauce as well.... it is was so secretive, we could not find it. The pub poutine did not have cheese curds, the Terminator gravy....all it was barbecue sauce on a basket of fries that must have been sitting out since lunch time. So embarrassing. It was just Young cheese cubed up. After waiting an hour the other people behind us got the order and half the time and finished by the time we got our order and all they could do is comp our drinks.....so embarrassing. Oh did I mention the table ordered at the same as US! So McMenamins is off my list when I have out of town guests coming to Portland. Any of you local guides, do you have a suggestion that we should show our out-of-town guess what Portland's really about? Won't make this mistake again.
Absolutely the best McMenamins in chain. Super accommodations in different price ranges. Several restaurants & pubs. So much to do on site to list but here are some: Spa, golf, brewery, distillery, winery. Free live music in winery on WE. Summer concerts with top name acts. Etc, etc, etc!
mcmenamins was a great place for a social gathering. the staff was really nice. drinks are pretty spendy and the food wasnt what I expected but all and all it was a great place.
The Edgefield location is by far the largest and most entertaining of the McMinnamins locations. Lots of places to eat, even more hidden places to get a drink, and lots of property to wonder around on.
PRO TIP 1: The Black Rabbit Bar is first come, first serve, a great place to go when all of the other food places have long wait times. PRO TIP 2: Grab a cigar at the Distillery Bar before starting a round of par-3 golf. PRO TIP 3: The Gift Shop is the first location to carry the Ruby and Hammerhead beers in a can. PRO TIP 4: You can bring your leashed Pets on the property and they can stay at the Hotel for a small fee.
McMenamins Edgefield is BY FAR the best place to see a concert in Portland. Bring a picnic blanket, order a variety of beers from their many mini brew pup booths and just relax on the soft summer grass. I wish every band I like would come play here, And there is so much other stuff to do and explore And if you are tired from such an unique experience, they have amazing themed hotel rooms for you to sleep in. This place is glorious. I would give it a 5.5 rating if I could. Did I mention there is free parking ss well? Just be sure to get there early to get that sweet spot.
Amazing gardens, wonderful hotel rooms. I planned a work event here for 20 people and everyone had an enjoyable time. Planning communications were pretty easy. Staff is awesome, from the bartenders and wait staff to the front desk and spa employees - Edgefield is really well done all around.
I always love coming here. I love their drinks, food, and atmosphere. The fact that you can bar hop but not have to really go anywhere is awesome. Also if you're lucky enough to stay the night you get access to the spa. Plus you don't have to worry about driving anywhere after a night of drinking.
Super fun place - the staff was friendly and professional. Parking was a challenge due to an event that brought in lots of folks not staying. Know that the facilities are not modern, but kept up as such to honor the history of the location.
Our best nite out so far. The food and drinks were outstanding and excellent service. The live music was so good we hated be to leave. The next trip there we will be getting a room.
I shot a wedding here a few weeks back and loved the venue. I hadn't been there before but what a treat for a photographer. There are so many spots to get really nice photos of the wedding party and couple. I'm looking forward to getting back down there again!
Ruff. As in I took a couple bites of my "cheesesteak" sandwich and decided I would not even give it to my dog. Stale untoasted bread, the vegetables were slimy and tasted off, and I could see the cook as he cooked it - he had to check how to make the sandwich numerous times. After 20 minutes, when the rest of the pub was empty (3pm) he finally got it under the heat lamp but forgot the frys - no big deal, they plan on forgotten frys by keeping a working stock of pre-fryed frys that can just be dunked in the oil for a few seconds so you get this nice unseasoned, oily mess. I have been many McMenamins and I don't expect much - they are the definition of mediocre, but I have had better food at Cass Co. jail in North Dakota. I seriously had two bites and then waited ten minutes before someone showed up so I could ask for my check. Oh yeah - while the cook was borking this simple sandwich, I got to watch him stack the peppers and meat on top of the basting cover when he realized that he screwed something else up. The kitchen manager at this place should be fired for even hiring that guy. Because of this experience, I will never set foot inside of another McMenamins again
Edgefield is one of my favorite of all the McMenamins locations. The room are typically nice and clean and appointed with a fan and extra blankets in case you are hot or cold. Bathrooms are different then most places, separate from the rooms but there are many to choose from, whether you want a shower or a nice claw foot bathtub. The soaking pool is awesome, nicely laid out and always nice and warm. The food at all McMenamins is typically the same style with some menu variation between locations, usually both the Power Station pub and the Black Rabbit restaurant on site have unique specials and great service. If you have a chance to tour the Winery, Distillery, and brewery all there it is definitely worth it! I have taken each tour multiple times and each employee who gives the tour seems to know something different or interesting about the processes. There is also a great pitch and putt golf area with two courses to choose from that is a blast when the weather allows for it, bring your own wedge and putter or just rent one at the distillery bar if you decide to play on a whim. I always have a great time at Edgefield and hate having to leave.
If you re looking for a change in your routine, here is the place for you! It s like nowhere else, and all the different themed bars keep your night very interesting!
The room we had was a little hot. No TV or air-conditioning. The bathroom was down the hall. Prices were kinda high for the value of the room for only a bed
We stayed overnight in the upstairs of the power station pub. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and it was noisy from the pub downstairs. People talked loudly in the hallways and there were A LOT of people, even on Wednesday and Thursday night. Would not recommend for romantic getaway.
Really cool place with a neat feel about it. Will definitely be bringing my wife back for a weekend trip in the near future. We just had bad timing so some things were closed or hard to find. Otherwise, I just wish we had more time to spend here!
First off, the property is very nice. Just going for a walk around the area is a treat itself. The parking lots are very confusing though, some re-modeling would be nice. The theatre is really cool aswell. Eating food while watching a movie is always amazing.
We recently attended a wedding here in the orchard out back and it was very lovely. The whole campus has a quintessential Oregon quality with the outdoor seating and fire pits and small bars. It's also a good concert venue in the summer with plenty of space for fairly popular bands. I saw Primus there last year and it was nice and airy despite the large crowd. I look forward to future shows there.
Went for a work "golf" event. Staff was friendly as usual and banquet room was large. Outside of the work event, great place to wander around with friends and a drink in your hand. Edgefield grounds are well kept but you don't get the "manicured" feeling
