Forthright and truthful may put some people off but McDonald Murholme tell it like it is so that I knew exactly what to expect. Professional, communicative and I felt they were on my side the whole time. They really know and understand Australian employment laws

If i could give zero starts i would. ALAN is a con artist who is more bent than my dogs back legs. I wouldnt trust a word the guy says and his no win no fee is crap. He will force you out at the last second. You have been warned.

Didn t even read the rebuttal. Was a little lengthy granted but for a 500$ sit down you d think it be par for the course. No doubt a graduate from psychic school of law. Wasn t going to even keep the copy. I will get an email though,, no doubt with more generic information I m sure. Not disputing the calls made but couldn t there have contained some information that may have suggested another course of action. No I m sure psychic school of law doesn t just hand out their degrees to just anyone. Secretaries indifferent - didn t even get a glass of water. Ah well, western suburbs peeps what would they know...... even 1 star me thinks is wee bit generous. So unless u got like 5 witnesses who seen your boss trying to bludgeon you to death, I d go somewhere else.

Refered by a friend who also had a successful outcome using this firm.
Attended for a consult, and was waived the initial fee due to my circumstances.
Was offered a no win no fee situation, also due to my circumstances.
Initially dealt with Andrew Jewell, who was lovely and helpful.
Was kept informed all the way along, which included an update on the fee progression.
Had Trent at my final mediation, but he was well informed about my case, so I was not concerned.
Everything was communicated well through the entire process. Moving forward I felt that the pros and cons were also explained so I was able to comprehend the outcomes.
I did not feel pressured to accept a deal at any point, and was given space and time to think.
Overall they helped me get the outcome I wanted, and I was very happy with their service!

They are just out to rip you off. No win no fee is a complete fabrication. They tell you on the telephone that you have to pay a fee for initial consultation, then 'we will see about no win no fee'. At the meeting we provided an accurate chronology of all documents, conversations, actions etc. with a front summary page with everything listed in date order. We were advised it would cost another $3000 for them to proceed. The first thing they would need to do is sit down and prepare a chronology of events!! The person we saw was just about asking questions from a script. If we wished to proceed, we had to pay the sum of $3,000 for their chronology and an application to the Fair Work Commission, they would then decide if they would pursue the matter on a no fee no win basis. This was for a position that paid less than $40,000 a year. They certainly do not offer a 'low cost option', you have to pay out a considerable sum before even being considered ' no win no fee'!!

My Lawyer was and will always be Arthur at McDonald Murholme.

When I initially contacted Arthur, he didn't just 'hear' me, he listened to me. I contacted this firm because I had issues with another. I wish I'd done my research properly because if I did, the result achieved by Arthur and his team would have been a lot quicker and not as stressful due to complications previously.

The time and effort put into my claim, and the considerations made were absolutely amazing. I hold certain values including Integrity, Professionalism, Empathy, Courage, Truth and Valour. I can say for sure that their values were aligned with my own which meant even after a bad experience it was very easy and soothing to know I can count on them to help me achieve what I set out to do.

I can't say where I'd be or what results I would have achieved it wasn't for the understanding, belief and craving to put things right and get the outcome myself and my family deserved if I didn't ask McDonald Murholme for their help. But what I can say for sure, is that we achieved everything we set out to do. For me, it wasn't just about 'getting money'. It was about making sure my workplace rights were protected and holding the workplace accountable for their decisions.

Due to the sale of the business I was employed at and the new owners having their own staff my position was made redundant. Three weeks after notice of redundancy I began to receive correspondence from my employer that raised uncertainty whether I would receive my severance package.

Id heard all the radio adverts for this company and when I was called to a meeting with my manager and the operations manager to discuss ways how I can improve beyond probation period. I was told it would just be a discussion for us all to move forward and it wasn t disciplinary. I was wrong! I had 3 managers in front of you who picked out the pettiest issues you could think of. I suffer an anxiety disorder and had already told them that and this only escalated the matter. My doctor advised me to take some time off as I was going through a marriage breakdown at the same time. During my week off to mentally just refresh, I was sacked via email. First call I made was to McDonald Murholme.

They were brilliant, I was in there within in a week to meet with them and set out a game plan that was realistic and achievable and I left feeling pretty good. My employer thought we were bluffing but after attending a teleconference and mediation with my lawyer allocated to me I barely had to do a thing. I came out miles in front financially which will now allow me to set up 2018 for my family.

These lawyers are fair and go hard at the opposition! If you hear the ads on radio and think its too good to be true, just accept that s how good it can actually be when you associate yourself with McDonald Murholme.

Extremely happy with the service received from Andrew Jewell. I was provided with steps to ensure I would get the best result from issues with my employer. All went well and it was worth the consultation.

Went to see them with a clear cut unfair dismissal claim. Didn't even get to the commission and we'd already paid them over 4k. Was advised it would cost another $2k plus to continue with the commission. When they'd finished 'negotiating' with the employer and we'd agreed on a settlement amount it was paid incorrectly. Called the 'lawyer' we had been dealing with only to be told she no longer worked there!! So, in the end we paid a lot of money for an incorrect payout. We ended up paying more to these 'lawyers' than our final settlement amount. No one wants to help finalise this mess so we are really regretting using this company.

Mr. Trent and his team walked me through the process and did a job well done. I m very happy with the outcome.

I recently sought the services of McDonald Murholme pertaining to an unlawful dismissal by redundancy and was provided counsel by Principal Lawyer Trent Hancock. I couldn't speak more highly to the professionalism and thoroughness with which Trent conducted the consult, nor could I to the prompt and courteous manner in which all prior and subsequent correspondence with Client Liaison Officers, Administrative Assistants and Communications Advisors was received.
During the 25 minute consult Trent detailed clearly and concisely all processes and options relating to Unfair Dismissal, GPA and Fairwork procedures. He was upfront regarding initial costings and no win no fee criteria, which was subsequently confirmed in written costing agreements and disclosures.
Whilst ultimately deciding not to proceed with my claim, I was extremely satisfied having spent $250 for the 25 minute consult with the advice received and would highly recommend McDonald Murholme and specifically Trent Hancock without hesitation.

Please be warned, do not deal with this company. Make an effort to find a more reputable firm. Ask yourself, what sort of lawyer needs to advertise on prime time radio? A colleague was convinced by MM to sue her employer. Result, a lot of bad blood and a small payout, (of which MM took most of). Her impression was, once you sign their contracts they are only interested in a fast grab for cash. Word got out in our industry about what went on, she can't even get an interview.

I found Arthur Hambas & Katherine Boyles extremely professional & compassionate in my dealings with them. After telling Arthur that I felt the details surrounding my redundancy felt wrong he took on my case & secured me a better payout from my employer. I like their prompt follow up after speaking to their para legal/assistant however, they need to be aware of their tone over the phone.

My personal opinion, I found them very condescending when they said exact words Not Interested after hearing my case. I thought of letting him know how inappropriate that (tone/attitude) sounded as I wasn t calling asking them to buy something from me. I realised that would have been the waste of both of our time hence, I decided to post this here.

My advice- For you it s business however, for for people reaching out to you, it s an issue that might be causing significant stress on their lives. Learn to qualify cases by listening better and it s ok if you don t want to proceed ahead. Just let us know politely. We expect individuals in your line of profession to be able to articulate themselves professionally. Words such as Not Interested isn t professional . We aren t calling asking you to buy something from us.

I was advised by a friend to see McDonald Murholme as he had heard their ongoing ad on 3AW, having helped people with Employment Law problems in particular, Bullying in the workplace.
I went to see them to seek their help for a employer bullying claim, when one of the senior Lawyers actually bullied and insulted me himself by insinuating I have a mental problem due to me questioning of his claims of their outstanding success in these past matters in similar cases.
They gave me a false sense of hope to draw me in and then they lied that this did not take place. When things got too hard for them their advice to me was to take whatever my employer was offering, 4 weeks pay as an exit, not even enough to cover their costs, their attitude was take what you can get.
Their communication was non existent after things were too hard for them, I resorted to communicate to the Lawyers handling my case through different office staff as they did not supply me with a direct contact. I told them I was not happy and I had engaged another Law firm to help me, they got nasty and they actually told the opposing Lawyer representing my employer private and confidential information about myself, and tried to ruin my credibility by saying I had taken off with the work vehicle and corporate credit card as well as other items of value.
They were reckless and had no consideration for my privacy. You'd think they should know better, being Lawyers.
They had initially charged me over $4000 and and then slam me with another bill for over $4000 and asked this bill to be paid that day which i did so, with no results. Over 8 thousand dollars!! FOR WHAT? Pathetic.
I had asked them about their no fee no win policy that IS advertised but their response was they do not advertise this. NOT TRUE.
They take advantage of the vulnerable and they look at clients as dollar signs.
I would never go back to see them even if they are the last Law Firm on the face of the earth, dealing with this firm actually made me feel sick.
Enjoy my $$$ seeings money is so important to you. I honestly don't know how you sleep at night.

Visited their office in Feb and was seen by one of the staff (not a lawyer). She took notes and told me that a lawyer would be contacting me in the next couple of days to discuss my case. They never called me. I guess they decided it wasn't worth the effort.

Well that was a fairly horrible experience, NO WIN NO FEE is somewhat of a grey area with McDonald Murholme, which you find out AFTER you sign their contracts of course. I ended up going with one of the more established employment law firms and when I brought up McDonald Murholme to my current lawyer (who is fantastic) she gave a knowing smile and a nod. When I pressed the point her very considered response was "Well....in the world of employment law firms the firm you are referring to are far from the top" that says it all really.

These lawyers are the best! If you get sacked from your job, just come here and they'll help you fabricate a story to take your ex boss to the Fairwork the commission. They explained the whole process to me that Fairwork commission is a no cost jurisdiction and its cheaper for your ex boss to just pay you out than to fight and lose to his lawyer.

That's how Mcdonald Murhole do it, they always win for you and settle! Its great getting money from your old boss who has to lose money trying to fight it. I recommend anyone who's been fired to come here.

Terrible! Before getting your money back, remember to prepare at least $10,000 first. No guarantee of anything but ask you to put money first. They don't care how much money you can claim back, all they care is every minute counting for $$$. No constructive suggestions at all. I spent $250 for half an hour non-sense consultation and just realised I would lose thousands of dollars if I went ahead with them.

Not only did they look after me in a legal sense, they also looked after my emotional state as well, not too sure how many other companies would do that.
