The Mayan Palace Unfortunately the service is not very friendly, they are offended if you do not consider their hotel as the best and if you do not buy them the membership in some of their hotels. Rare staff people who are friendly. If they see you are Mexican, you are not very interested. And fortunately I had a room in the Mayan Palace with a dirty shower, the key fell off the sink, the sink covered, and that if you have beautiful pools but most without without heating, parking lot and if you take the car you They charge. A very classy hotel handle a lot of exclusive spaces. They force you to pay 75 dls per room extras, when you sign up. I consider that since it is no longer a "product" I mean the rooms of the hotel that no longer sell, they have abandoned it a lot.

!!!!INSIGHT!!!!!

!!!!INSIGHT!!!!!
We stayed at Mayan palace for 7 days. The atmosphere, weather, and some of the food was great but upon arriving, everything is about money. They won t allow you to take your luggage to your hotel because they want un tip . We got a room with a kitchen and we spend 200 on food for two people for a week stay, but we noticed there wasn t any dish detergent to wash our dishes. That s to buy at the boutique or in the room so we had to hunt that down by calling the operator and asking staff walking by. The only way you can get that is thru the maid service. The room was always half way cleaned, but she wanted , un tip . They have a great happy hour which is a bogo for drinks. The food is not on happy hour, which sucks. The drinks are not strong so get a shot with it. The pool is open all night but no hot tub but water is pretty warm. I suggested not to visit this place is during the summer because the it s humid as hell. They will add extra charge on your bill at the end of your stay, so look at your bill good. There is no Uber so taxi are about 40 usd for 2 people to get to Cancun or other area including back the airport. Make reservations to use the shuttle because it cheaper and worth it. The golf course is not very big but the joya is worth it . It s a great show. And please STAY AWAY FROM THEIR SEMINAR BECAUSE THEY ARE PUSHY AND IT WILL MAKE YOUR STAY HORRIBLE...

Of the good:

Of the good:
All inclusive. Very good place to vacation. Excellent staff attention 24 hours. Transportation included 24 hours inside the hotel. It is convenient to make the super of a Wal-Mart in Playa el Carmen for the whole week and the hotel already takes you to your room. Outside taxis charge 350 pesos to go to Playa del Carmen but you can take a bus (van pickup) on the road for 25 pesos. They pass every 15 minutes.

Of the bad:
If a visitor comes, the hotel charges you for transportation from the main entrance (pen) to the central lobby. The beach of the hotel has many very large stones and rocks and you slippery almcakinar for them there is only a bit to swim with 2 meters deep. In some thematic restaurants of the hotel the food is too expensive: hotdogs from $ 15 DLLs.

All excellent facilities cleaning service, picinas, has beautiful green areas the only bad thing is that they force you to take their talks to sell their timeshares, and you lose a whole morning of your vacation.

My first experience in this place as a member was absolutely fabulous! Everything is beautiful in exaggeration. The pool is huge and the cleanliness is so huge that they change the beds twice a day. All employees are extremely attentive from arrival to departure, always helping at all times. The food is very rich and although the size of the place is all removed, they have an excellent transport service from one point to another. The beach is not very pretty because it is very rocky but to relax it is perfect.

Excellent service, right between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, the beach of the hotel is not very nice, but it is very close to other excellent beaches, recommended to arrive by car or rent one!

Hurt hotel for what you pay, I left some scoops and if you want to go to the hotel entrance (to the pen) you have to pay taxi because the hotel does not give you the service and still charge $ 100 per night parking.

Our trip started with our ride not showing up. We took $120 cab ride to the hotel and when we complained they said we should have called a specified phone number. After searching our email, we never received this specified phone number. When we called the toll free number that we were giving it booking, they were closed when we needed our cab. Apparently there are no refunds, which was specified in the email we never received. No customer service whatsoever!

My husband and I ordered a $60 soup that smelt and tasted so bad we had to send it back. We were still charged for the soup plus felt obligated to pay for the tip.

We had to go down several times because their billing system would not work, which every time you go to the lobby, it takes 30 minutes.

When returning six towels because our party was large, they couldn't even find when we checked them out. They go by an archaic system of looking at a piece of paper 2 to 3 days old.......

For the amount of money that we spent, I'd recommend staying at an Airbnb and leaving what they call a palace. Would not recommend. And that's coming from somebody that's traveled to 40 countries and countless amount of hotels.......

The best part was leaving the resort.

It is very cute. Very good access to walk around in a wheelchair or with baby carts. Very big. The beach is uncomfortable to swim; It is made of stones and only to enter with water shoes. The mencado food is not expensive and the buffets are great.

Also in the VIDANTA complex their pools are great. A good place to relax. Its rooms have a kitchen so you can get to the outside pantry which I recommend because inside the complex it is very expensive.

Only day one and so far hating every minute of it. Noisy room, smells like sewer outside, smelling fumes taking those golf carts every where, too Kabul guests smoke cigarettes in your face, restaurants close early after a long journey here, check out is too long, sheets are scratchy, no conditioner I the room, only one bar of soap, no blankets on bed just a sheet, shower was cold, constant noise when trying to sleep, WiFi code was wrong, paid $20 for a time share meeting and was promised its an hour long - looked at reviews online and it's more like six.

Great place. Would rate higher except for high pressure sales and alot of walking. Staff mostly very nice and accommodating. Food very good. Room service quality mediocre or slightly better. Would definitely go back. Pools are amazing. Scenery is great and Salumn area is a hidden treasures.

If you do not have membership and make your reservation by exchange prepare for a hostile service in the access to the property and check in, during your stay there will be a lot of insistence from the timeshare vendors (call at 8am) and consider at least one time to leave the property without counting the trip to the airport (a whole journey). Spectacular gardens and pools, very large spaces, old rooms, and prepare to walk a lot and wait forever for food to be served.

This place is beautiful. But I know they spray a lot of fumigants here. No bugs at all. I also know that it is very expensive lunch yesterday was over 1500 pesos. Three margaritas two appetizers and two entrees. The portions were all good and it tasted great. But the price was much more than I was expecting import beer is ten USD American so being Canadian we have been feeling it in the exchange. I am not resort guy anyways but I would not stay here again it's too expensive on the day to day.

Great service! Definitely be prepared to pay the price of luxury. We had a nice stay and saved lots of money by taking public transportation and eating in town instead of using hotel services. The staff was wonderful and the resort really is beautiful.

I gotta say, everything about this place is awesom...

I gotta say, everything about this place is awesome except the outrageous price of restaurant food, snacks and drinks. If you and your partner go to the least expensive restaurants on site, you will spend a minimum of $235 CAD a day for 3 meals and 8 drinks, I can t complain enough about this. I just feel so trapped.
The other option is rent a car, spend $65/day for Mexican insurance, $20/day car rental and about $50/day for lots of food and booze at the local grocery store. You save $100 each day. You also save on the crazy price of tours by having your own vehicle to tour around.

Vacation club ownership is what this hotel is about. Rooms are close to pool and beach. The amenities in the room are average. The staff is helpful, but not always knowledgeable.
If you just plan to sleep in room and use pool for a few days while exploring the area, this resort will fit your needs.
