I have visited the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church on several occasions over the years. I highly recommend everyone take the opportunity to visit this site should you be in the Atlanta area. There is no cost of entry or to park; I have always been able to find a parking spot close by.
On one occasion we were able to sit in on a live presentation by one of the Park Rangers who attended Ebenezer Baptist at the same time as Dr King. This was, by far, our most memorable visit. On our most recent visit, however, the ranger informed us that such presentations no longer take place.
It is incredibly inspirational to be in the very church where Dr Martin Luther King, Jr grew up and preached. Dr King s message of unity and peace is clearly demonstrated in the church and park on the same grounds.
The only criticism I have is I have encountered several other visitors who have been much less than friendly. It seems Dr King s message of love and acceptance are not necessarily ascribed to by everyone who visits.
All said, this site is a MUST VISIT!

I loved my visit to this historic site. I stopped by the park without much expectation but it blew my mind. It provided me with a lot of history, free parking (albeit difficult to find) and the whole experience was free! Exhibitions were wonderful - I really enjoyed the brief 30 minute film on the biography of Dr. King. It's an excellent place for a visit to learn about the civil rights movement.

So informative and just a great learning experience that I think is important for everyone to experience. Went with my family and then went back with a group of friends and both times were equally inspiring

Incredible history! Images, quotes and videos that help retell the story of the past by those who lived through it! Truly an impactful experience for anyone, any age and from any background.

Beautiful grounds. Museum a mix of archival photos/video from the Civil Rights Movement/Freedom Riders. Tours of his birth home available. He and Coretta are interned right along side of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. The church is open and available to the public free of charge. A must see.

I never would have imagined it was like this, from his childhood home to the church he spoke in, its all within walking distance of the memorial and the museum is a site to behold. Visit the museum.

I visited in April 2018 on the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination #MLK50. It was quite emotional to visit. Entrance is free. Parking is free. There's a half-hour film that traces his life. The main hall is split up into different themes, with displays and videos for each theme. The audio is much, much too loud. The national parks staff is informative & visibly proud to be working at such an important site. The main building is close to Ebenezer Church as well as to King's childhood home. The site was recently named a national park, and the government is currently renovating houses between the main building and King's home, so it will even be better in the future.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a hero and coming here to this place in the neighborhood he grew up in was very moving. I had already known of him and the courageous work that he and his wife did but I learned even more walking through the installations they have about various events and the climate during that time. Btw, Coretta Scott King was nothing short of amazing herself. I highly recommend going there and learning about an extremely important part of American history that was not that long ago. We should always remember the sacrifices that he and so many others made so that we could have the freedoms we have now. Definitely visit Ebnezer Baptist Church across the street. It looks exactly the same. I sat there in the front row imagining him on that pulpit, advocating for justice through non violent means and yes, this review is long but the experience stays with you long after you drive away.

Fantastic exhibit detailing the life and work of Dr. King. Accessible from downtown by streetcar, bus, or my favorite: Jump bicycle (these are electric boost bikes accessible through an app. You still have to pedal the bike, but it conquers downtown's hill's with minimal effort)

All of the exhibits in the central park are free. Dr. King's home is located a bit farther down the street to the East. My group and I did not realize this and did not plan enough time to see it. You also need a ticket to see it. Make sure you plan enough time because there are a lot of exhibits to see here.

The character is obviously important. The memorial also gives some interesting indications. The places are in good condition but a little outdated. On the other hand, a few kilometers away, CNN and Coca-Cola have flashy centers. Each one his priorities ...

Going to this museum really caused me to think about some of the fundamental core beliefs and truths Dr Martin Luther King Jr fought so hard and died for; yet, today we seemed to have forgotten or worse have become indifferent to basic acts of humanity it saddens me. It was very sobering to walk through museum and read the thoughts and achievements of a life cut short too soon by the very ugly evil and hate we encounter today. Excellent place to visit, I felt like a kid on a field trip all over again!

The history of this place that so much I thought I knew and was taught is not even close to what I saw in person. They even have live t.v from word per word in the 1960 I cried. People, I saw the cradle box that his casket was place in waking down the street in Memphis Tennessee, I seen it. On picture 3 is the year I was born.

This place is amazing. To be able to follow Dr. King's life not only as a father but as an activist for civil rights is amazing. To see where he was born, raised and the church he attended and became a part of is incredible. The moment you walk in, the emotions overwhelm you as you walk in his shoes and those who walked and or marched beside him.

It is a historic National Park where you can meet and approach Martir Luther King. The museum has an expo, a video and all its evolution. Nearby is the Memorial and its house, it is a complex. It is worth visiting if you are in Atlanta and you are interested in politics and social rights.

Absolutely amazing and very humbling ! I'm from London and we don't taught much on black history nonetheless black leaders so was a learning experience too! God bless the King family we saw his museum site, birth home, his church where he was ordained and would preach, his and his wife final resting place etc.

Absolutely amazing and very educational....all sites are well kept and managed; however, there should be more parking around the area especially considering the amount of visitors who come per week. Other than that, I truly enjoyed my trip to the site!

I really enjoyed visiting the King Center and learning more about the civil rights movement and the life of the King couple, who was a martyr of the cause. I visited the house where he was born too, it was exciting.

Yesterday, 01/16/2017I went to M. L King Jr. National Historic Site. It is a wonderful and interesting place. But when I bought a souvenir , the cashier was not a honest person. I trust to him but I received less change. I paid with a bill of $10 and receive many coins of pennies, five cents and a huge coin of a dollar. At that time was a young man. I am a tourist . I hope that do not happen again. Do not speak well about workers in that place.

First time I went there. I liked it after hearing all my life regarding MLK. I loved that every item that he used were present at the museum. The most fascinating part was when we visited the museum there was a speaker who imitated the I have a dream speech just as MLK did. That really moved me.
