The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Par...

The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park consists of several buildings in Atlanta, Georgia, including Martin Luther King Jr.'s boyhood home and the original Ebenezer Baptist Church, the church where King was baptized and both his father Martin Luther King Sr. and he were pastors. These places, critical to the interpretation of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy as a leader of the American Civil Rights Movement, were included in the park when it was established on October 10, 1980. Formerly a National Historic Site, the unit was redesignated as a National Historical Park on January 8, 2018 by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Very fascinating. House and memorial are 100 meters away. All very concentrated, very practical to visit. The house tour is free but I don't think it's worth it. The plaque with the dedication "... was born here M.L.King" is right at the entrance to the driveway. There is a queue to pose near and take a picture!

This place was a real eye opener. As someone who lives in a country with no race problems, I was appalled at what went on in my lifetime. Thanks to the like of Martin Luther King and his peaceful protests life for the oppressed has improved greatly but racism still has a undercurrent in this great country. Sad.

In order to build a better future for all, we have to understand the past. This center captures one of the pivital time in our history.

It is a must stop not only as a wonderful place, but also a reflection of where we have been and the work that lies ahead.

Again, this is a stop beyond race, sex creed or color, but a journey for equality on many socioeconomic fronts.

Go inside with an open mind, and leave your guilt, or that what to expect at the door and you are going to like the way you feel heading out of there.

This place would not have worked in capturing that period in our history if it was located on a mall somewhere often taped off.

The place was beautiful. We got there later in the day so we missed out on touring his house, but it was awesome seeing the church he went to and re learning the history associated with it. The water memorial was so beautiful also.

I am amazed at the beauty of the facility and the wealth of information inside. Tears flowed from my eyes several times as I walked through both the church and the facility. We've come a very long way with many miles to go.

To see ... to understand the greatness of those who fight and fought with "non-violence" for civil rights.
A museum, as always in the United States, built and maintained with the utmost care and completeness of information.
You can breathe history and experience emotions, thinking about the difficulties encountered and overcome over the years for the progress of ideas.
Approved in August 2010.

What a beautiful and informative memorial! Thank you for continuing the legacy and educating people about non-violence and justice. Not sure why Donald Trump is included in the memorial, he truly Does Not deserve to be a part of it.

There was a lot of details that went into this place. Have your walking shoes on, because is a lot to see. Unfortunately it rained while we were there so we didn't get to see his home and they were working on the area were he and his wife lay but other then that it was great.

This place is as close to history that u will ever get. U will get a goof young MLK Jr. and how his legacy came to be along with other facts that probably will never be taught in a classroom. I truly felt as if I had warped back in time.

Don't forget your National Park stamp book. The home tour is worth going on (no pictures permitted inside home per request of King estate). The content is humbling and reminds guests that segregation wasn't that long ago and voices/peaceful actions are still needed today.

This site was awesome! The staff was helpful. It was great to see all of the artifacts, videos and pictures inside. I recommend looking at the shot gun houses and his birthing home but be sure to grab tour times from the information center. It was an honor being able to visit this place.

Rich history and detail time lines in the National Park building, as well as MLK's childhood home, must visit in Atlanta. While you are here, don't miss The King Center and the Ebenezer Baptist Church across the street.
