Decorations And Christmas atmosphere was beautiful
Macys is not Marshall Fields, but the Walnut Room is still there. The building is an historic landmark, so if you haven't been in awhile, go; it's still a grand old building.
Helpful staff, made me want to come back more often.
Amazing piece of architecture. It's hard to imagine how immense this store is unless you actually go there - 8 floors of merchandising, each floor an entire city block. You know a store is large when exits are marked by what street the door is on. Even though Macy's is considered expensive, I always find great deals there in the men's department. Be sure to check out the building at Christmas. Beautiful decorations!
Any History of Chicago would be woefully inadequate without a several paragraphs on Marshall Field. The building that bears his name is an eight story building that houses Macy's Department Store.
Their order pickup system was ok. The only problem I find is if the pocketbook location changes each year. There should be signs throughout the store. You love time trying to find a staff member for them to tell you where to go. Sorry, but with Marshall Fields, no mystery how much time had passed since you visit the store, you just know where Customer Service was. It never changed. You knew which floor to go to.
I went to the Macy's and the shoes salesperson was very helpful. She brought me all kind of shoes and I ended up buying two pairs of shoes. She gave me a discount, too. Great service!
The best quality clothes, perfumes, makeup everything
Overpriced. Lousy food. 4 generations of Christmas at the Walnut Room will come to an end. The service was 1* Food was 2*. Room is not secure and theft runs rampant with belongings left when you head to the buffet.
Great historical building. Had very good dinner there in The Walnut Room
Hosts Macy s store. The topmost floor has a restaurant. Easily accessible via public transportation.
Neatly stocked and wonderful holiday decorations throughout!
Since childhood, my family has been shopping at Marshalls Field!
Did the Christmas trip and very disappointed in all the christmas decorations.
Makes shopping experience fun all in one place. The elegance, and updated look with a nostalgic feel (Tiffany Dome). Wonderful place to create new memories with family and friends
It is currently a 5-story Macey s. The architecture itself is worth seeing. The store has everything you can expect and good prices. Parking meters are the only viable parking option. ($ 4.50 USD) per hour. It is best to reach the center by Uber or subway
Now a Macy's store. Historic building. Great selection of clothes including plus size for women.
I hit Macy's up, in every state, I go to..
This one in particular.. I grew up in

Great store in a large historic building in downtown Chicago. Walking its aisles gives a great window into posh 20th century shopping architecture and attitudes.
Vagrants and rude middle easterners smoking outside every exit...$55 parking just a block away from the store. It sure isn't Marshall Field's anymore. New all you can eat buffet, $35 per person...
Not a place I'd normally visit. Avoid the perfume areas of you're sensitive
Sales Associate in Children Dept had excellent customer service skills. Went in back to find a red girls toddler purse.
Great building were Macy's is now. View the beautiful architecture and famous holiday window displays.
Amazing store
Something for everyone
Went in to browse. Was looking for Christmas items. There wasn't much. All the good stuff was gone. Had to be there earlier in the month to find something. Usually find ornaments by radko. It's nice to look around.
It's looking a bit shabby. It seems to have lost some of the luster since Macy took over
I hate the dated elevators. They take forever. Difficult to find help in the store except for the ladies in the child section. They are great
I really enjoy this beautiful building. You can find Macy's and Starbucks in it. Excellent location.
Awesome I found what I was looking for
Customer service was great and polite with smiles. Will be back
Macy's is a great place to shop. The sales are good staff friendly and professional
What happened to this store. Its falling apart and there is no one around to help you.
Gives a good connection to the historical part of Chicago with it's architecture and history, although it's getting lost now.
Huge, great location in Chicago, excellent to visit at the holidays.
The new floor plan on the 1st floor in the cologne section is not very easy to navigate for customers. Its tight cluttered & not nearly as inviting as the old dept design when women cologne was separate from men. The grouping of designer colognes is messy. & interacting with a monitor isnt terrible but should be scaled down so human beings are interacting to tell customers about the cologne along with the monitor information.
Workers need better wages and fairness in applying to job promotionas!
I love this store! It's uniquely known to the Chicago area. It brought back fond memories of my time in Chicago. My friends and I would go shopping and they had the best Designers' merchandise!
I like the quality of there products but very overpriced
Had to stop in for my Fragrance & received great service..
Macy's is just Macy's. A good place to pick up a wide variety of products. Sales are usually quite good. Christmas ornament selection always disappoints me. Housewares department is very good. Last Act departments almost always have great selection and good deals. Luggage sales are worth investigating. Furniture department is well stocked, as are gourmet food sections.
Add the Marshall Field and Company Building to your walking tour of Chicago Architecture. Step inside to see the mosaic dome by the Tiffany studio tops a 5-story atrium in the southwest corner. Not to be missed is the traditional symbols of the store are the green clocks which overhang the corners of Randolph and Washington on State Street.
Disappointed we couldn't see the tree from the upper floors but tree was still beautiful!
Surprisingly, Macy's carries Marshall Fields Souvenirs! That alone made the store worth visiting and earns it a 5-Star rating!!
It's sad to see a landmark inside not being taken care of . Especially in the holidays. ( Macy's I hope it will be better next year)
Brunch with the family at the oak room getting ready for xmass
It's no longer the store it once was. At least 3 non working escalators. Very poor Christmas decorations. Lack of stock in specialty food departments. Very sad
