I've been staying here for years when I travel to KC for work. I'm a fan of the lobby, member lounge, new rooms in the other tower. The gym is one of the top 5 I've used and the views from it (22nd floor) are great.

Great hotel with easy access from the road, along with easy and ample parking. Concierge lounge was very large and open, with nice options for breakfast and dinner. This is one of the few lounges I've been to where you could easily spend a significant amount of time. Lobby and rooms were very modern, and elevators had a great interface that made it easy to get up and down. The hotel rooms were modern and beds were clean and comfortable. All-in-all, one of the better Marriotts I've been to.

We must have been on one of the floors that is yet to be renovated because the lobby and elevators were very nice and the other reviews show much nicer rooms in the pictures. Some amenities I expected from a Marriott included a refrigerator and microwave in the room, hot water in the shower, clean carpets, windows that are fully sealed to keep out cold air and working ice machines. Everything was just outdated. I will look somewhere else on my next visit to KC.

Nice hotel, rooms are very modern and have a mini-fridge, safe, and other amenities. There is a pool at the top along with workout equipment. There are great views on the higher floors and we always stay here when visiting KC.

Clean comfortable hotel very reasonably priced in the heart of Kansas City. The overall experience and service was top-notch. The rooms although dated were clean and in very good condition. I kind of felt like I was in a museum seeing the 1980s style of this hotel. I wish I had known this was the scene of that horrible collapse of a balcony. That would have made my stay so much more enjoyable. The place has some history some 1980s charm and overall it's a nice place to say can't give it five stars just because of the age but other than that probably one of the best places you can stay in Kansas City

I was attending an event in one of the smaller rooms downstairs.. the staff was very friendly and helpful.. there was always someone on staff nearby in case you needed directions around or just a smile. Very clean restrooms and just a beautiful hotel.

I travel for work, so get excited about the small details at hotels. Things I liked about the Marriott Downtown: feather pillows, the bath floor mats were large and soft, the towels were fluffy without the chemical feel some hotels have after they are cleaned, the bar soap is a mild scent, the room service mediteranean steak salad is solid. Things I don't like: Marriott's shampoo and conditioner is overly scented with a pretty masculine smell, and they didn't have a fridge, which I like having so I can eat my leftovers for breakfast. Overall though, great interactions with staff and great amenities. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the Muelebach Tower portion of this hotel for a conference taking place in both the hotel and the convention center. The location was convenient for attending the conference as the underground corridors through parking garages allowed for walking between buildings without having to go outside. The lights on the outside of the main Marriott building were customized for our conference and it felt like a warm reception into Kansas City. The catering food was good.

The hotel room was generally nice, with nice views from the higher floors of downtown. However, the rooms do not have a microwave and the service was not great. A couple of days, our towels or bed linens were dirty with small stains. A couple of times I called the front desk and no one asked. The housekeeping staff was relentless about getting into the rooms to clean. One day knocking over 5 times while we were getting dressed. Another instance, disregarding the privacy tag on the doorknob and entering the room while I was showering. There were also two times when I called the front desk and they did not answer.

The hotel is decent and has standard amenities for its type, but the staff was not prepared to delivery quality service during the high volume period of the convention.

This was a clean and modern hotel. Definitely the b-team across the street at the mulbauch....people at the main desk were much more helpful. That being said the old lobby in this building is unbelievable...so beautiful. It is a shame they can't still use it. Obviously be a majestic building in it's time. Kudos to the Marriott in for saving it.

Great location, overseeing a public park/square, close to convention center. The rooms were good and clean. A few local food joints close by too, so you can walk few blocks for dinner if you choose not to dine at the hotel restaurant.

Pretty great so far. Attending the LIFE conference here in downtown KC. It's pretty dope and we just found the old part of the hotel which is very historic and interesting. Rooms and service are everything they need to be.

Given that this is a Marriott, I expected a little more. Room service was late every day. Rooms are a little outdated and could use some attention to detail. Paint is peeling on the bathroom door and wall sconces in the bathroom are rusted. Closet doors off track with a limited number of hangers. Had to request extra items of limited things such as coffee, toilet paper, and soap. Went to the Chiefs game and returned at 4:20 pm to find the rooms were still not cleaned. Outside of the condition of the rooms, the staff was very helpful and quite attentive. Great location near shops and restaurants.

I did not stay the night, but I stopped by to greet some of my friends. We had dinner and drinks. The staff was very friendly and the entire lobby was very big with a nice waterfall wall. The food was delicious and my friends told me the drinks were good too. I would definitely come back for dinner and probably to stay the night if I need to.

Quite disappointed for this being a Marriott. Although the lobby was nice, there were several issues that I encountered while there:
1. Hair on the toilet - that should say enough but also found hair in the sink and shower.
2. Shower temperature couldn t be maintained - had to rush through shower because either it was cold or scorching every 15 seconds or so. Come to find out from the manager the next morning, they shut down part of the hotel because of hot water issues. Shower curtain was also falling off the hooks.
3. Rooms were outdated. They claim to be doing a complete room Renovation but not sure where.
4. Valet tried to implement a texting service to get your car but system didn t work.

On a positive side, the rooms were a nice size and beds were comfortable.

Hope this helps.

I was at the property for a day-long meeting and didn't stay at the hotel. The meeting space was comfortable, well-lit, and modern with chairs and linens that appeared in like-new condition.
Staff was friendly and helpful from the valet to the wait staff. Food (lunch and snack breaks) was good.
