The staff are fabuloso and very helpful with ideas on food, entertainment and transportation. Courtney was especially helpful with good tips on food. The place is new so very clean and easy to find. Would definitely stay there if you are in town for a UT function. But if you are spending all your time downtown, I would stay at the waterfront residence inn. This one is at least four miles to the river.

Every year, I always stay at Residence Inn for New Years and leave out with a great experience. Everything from my stay (Front Desk, Breakfast Buffet, Servers, Concierge, Valet etc.) are always wonderful, but I am giving a bad rating because of security.

On NYE around 11:40, I was walking back to the hotel to change really quick and go back on 6th street to party. The Residence Inn entrance was closed off, with the Courtyard entrance open. I'm walking up to the entrance and this big tall African American man walks up to me and says "Let me see your room key."
I looked at him concerned and asked, "Why do you need to see my room key?" I was uncertain if there was an issue going on in the hotel, if it were some personal issue, so of course I'm a little worried. I've never been asked for a room key.
He sighs as if I were wasting his time, and then responds with: "Look, man, I'm just checking anyone coming in here is a residence--" and goes into mumbling something else. Meanwhile, 3 other people walked in without being asked for their room key. I would have understood if he came up to me cordially and explained, but the way he approached me seemed off putting as if I were a suspect.

After front desk about the issue where they profusely apologized for the inconvenience, they stated the situation will be handled. Again, everything about this hotel is superb. My experience is just unfortunate.

Worst Marriott property I have experience as a Gold Elite Member, they claim there dog friendly, when booked and called in to see what there dog policy was they for the night I was staying in they told me 100 dollars for the dog that is 25lbs ( that doesn't feel dog friendly) Glad I booked my weekend at the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt ( there dog polity if it fits true the doors we welcome them at no extra charge) plus there are in much better location, also when I called to request for a late check out they said we can only do 12:00 for a Gold Elite even when I stay at the Ritz Carlton I get 4:00 pm check out. Do not waist your money here its not worth it. #worstMarriottproperty glad it was only a night... !!

Nice accommodations and really good breakfast. Parking is very limited and even if you use valet parking, it will take at least 15 minutes to get your car. If you plan ahead for that, you should be fine.

I stayed two weeks at the Residence Inn for an office relocation. Most of the time the hotel was great, service was awesome. However if the two weeks, the hotel elevator worked on and off. After two weeks they posted a piece of paper stating that the elevator was undergoing maintenance.

Very convenient location. Connecting to Marriott Courtyard. Seems recently front desk is merged to the one of Courtyard. The room size may be smaller than the other Residence Inn but good enough. Recently, the price stays at very high as Residence Inn, which is very bad.

The bed was incredibly comfortable. The continental breakfast had a wonderful selection of food. The coffee was delicious. Parking was not as expected. Valet only or park on the street. We had a couple of issues with the room, but they were remedied. Staff were polite and helpful.

Well for starters they like to leave out they are doing renovations until you check in! They leave these little ear plugs by the bed with a note. All the war plus do isn t muffle the noise. They did however, downgrade and move us to another floor with construction but just not as noisy. We paid for a city view high floor(which was super outdated) got moved to a low floor with a view of valet and with a toilet that had a bloody tampon come out of it as we flushed it. We re two men staying in a room and do not use feminine products. They gave us a $30 credit for their restaurant for the tampon incident. They tell you the construction starts at 10:30a and ends 6:30p on a SATURDAY! They started at 9am in Saturday morning Above our room. Didn t even get to sleep in, I brought my puppy and he was so scared by the excessive drilling. I could not even talk to my partner without shouting. I took a 25 second video of them just drilling. It sounded like they had a power drill and were drilling cement! We drove 3 hours from Houston for the weekend to visit friends and it totally ruined our first visit to Austin. If it wasn t for the woman who checked me out I would have given this no stars! She made me leave with a smile.

This was by far one of the worst hotels I ve stayed at. Pay the extra and stay across the street at the Westin! They also charge $39 for self parking and 49 for valet...

Well you don't always get what you pay for! Worst experience in a room in years! We stayed here for Mother's Day weekend, and it was ruined! The room and hotel were nice, but my room had an AC which ticked like a time bomb every time it cycled off, and a refrigerator that gurgled all night. no sleep, and no rooms to switch. Also parking was a nightmare! No room in the pull through, and when valet brought our truck down, it was boxed in for minutes and we could not leave. Very disappointed. Will not be staying here again.

Great spacious rooms with amazing breakfast included. Rooms and service would be 4/5 but the breakfast made it 5/5. If available at reasonable rate as compared to others would recommend residence inn.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced room block in downtown Austin.

My husband and I booked a block of 30 rooms here for our wedding in April, and we could not have been happier with the customer service, the comfort and amenities of the hotel, and, of course, the location. Our rehearsal dinner was at Moonshine and our after party was at the Driskill, so everything was a short walk. We had more than 70 out-of-town guests, and everyone really felt like they got the "true Austin experience."

Sarah kept me up-to-date on rooming list updates, and even went out of her way to accommodate guests who wanted to use Marriott points despite the busy MotoGP weekend.

On our wedding night, a nice congratulatory note from the staff was left in our hotel room, and we were delighted to find chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne in the room when we got in for the night.

The hotel amenities were great -- the rooms were clean, the beds were super cozy, the food and drinks at Champions were good and reasonably priced, and Starbucks was handy in the mornings when our guests were off to a slow start.

From this point forward, we'll be staying with Marriott whenever possible. Thanks, Sarah!

As a member of Marriott Bonvoy who stays at Marrio...

As a member of Marriott Bonvoy who stays at Marriotts in Austin every year, this one was by far the worst and a disappointing experience overall. Requested early check-in through the app, and also checked in through the app beforehand and still had to wait an hour for a room to be ready. When we finally got to our room it had some kind of odor throughout. Two staff members came up to check on it and were extremely rude about the entire situation. Never have I experienced such bad customer service where they literally mocked me saying "well you're the one who doesn't know what to do about it going 'meh meh meh', your friend is chill it's just you". Are you kidding me? I simply and politely wrote that the room had some kind of smell and was then patronized as if I made some huge issue of it. We also put a request in through the app for a dental kit and a shaving kit, they stated that the request was completed but nothing ever showed up.

Also, like many other reviewers have mentioned, there is still construction going on, so it's very loud all day. If you have some extra money or Marriott points book the JW nearby instead, you won't regret it.

Hotel is in great location. Modern and very quiet. Hotel personnel are pleasant and helpful. Only downsides are parking and Champions restaurant who serves the breakfast. Parking is $35 for self and $45 for valet. Champions was supposed to open 7am and didn't open till 730. Don't count on them if you need to catch an early AM flight. Epic fail.

Excellent location, walkable to many bars and restaurants. Parking downtown is tough, and likely means an expensive garage. The hotel was asking 35/night to park. Breakfast was great, hot food, cold food, fruit. The room was spacious and clean, 2 room suite plus a bathroom as you'd expect from a residence.

I asked them at the check-in to charge my card instead of put the amount on hold on my account. They charged my card and put the whole amount on hold on my account as well; now I cannot use that money until the bank releases it which is a month in Hungary. It was the last time staying in Marriott.

Good central location in downtown Austin close to lots of options. The rooms are decently appointed if not a little dated. Overall a good place to stay at a decent price but if you're looking for something worth a bit of flair, I'd look somewhere else.

REally, really nice place to stay. Great location: everything is nearby. They just completed renovation, and you can tell where the 8M went: all rooms are very clean and comfortable. Free internet makes this a nice business travel landing spot. They also offer a free breakfast, nice workout room and a pool. BUt most of all, they staff is really, really there for you. i have paid more to stay here over and over , and they always make me feel that i got my money worth.

do yourself a favor and do NOT rent a car, just walk through 6th street, enjoy local brew :)

Great Marriott property smack dab in the middle of Austin downtown. Well kept and updated relatively recently. Service is up to Marriott's generally high standards. Fill suites are great for parents and kids to have some space. Bring the babysitter along and get out for an adult date. The kids will love hanging out in the suite with room to move.

Everything average except for the price. Two stars for inconsistent room cleaning. Trying to have a coffee in the morning and they forgot to give me cream for two days in a row and now I have none. They come in and move my toothbrush around every day but can't remember to leave coffee and cream. The $100 hotels don't forget the cream. Above and beyond this, the heat was stuck on high in my first room and I had to switch rooms and then I found a walkie-talkie in the second.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary trip to Austin. While it is a nice hotel, we will never be staying at a Marriott again, anywhere. The second night of our trip, there was a party going on in the room next to us. After an hour of listening to it, we pushed the button on the room phone that should have connected us to an employee immediately. Apparently this button did not work, as we tried this multiple times. An hour later, we tried again, but we had to use our cell phone to call the front desk as the room phone didn't work. The party quieted down for about an hour, then they were at it again. There are signs posted all over the lobby saying there is a zero tolerance noise policy and zero tolerance for a room having over 4 people in it. According to the hotel, zero tolerance really means you have multiple warnings. To make it worse, since the second night was a holiday, we paid almost $100 more to sleep there than the first night, and we couldn't even sleep. We are very disappointed in the way they handled this, and will never be staying at a Marriott again.

Really a lovely example of a Residence Inn. The room was super clean and comfortable, the hotel offers a good breakfast buffet, has fast enough wifi, and is within walking distance of so much. Nothing negative to say about it, at all!

We were repeatedly approached by homeless/ panhandling while entering and exciting the main entrance. There was finally a manger at the front entrance who asked me to show my room key twice and repeat my room number. The next morning, we were asked for our room number several times during breakfast, and then made to sign a check for $0.00 for the "free" breakfast. I understand you have an issue with homeless wandering in, but you're staff should be more thoughtful when dealing with paying customers, especially at rates well over $270 on weekend nights.
