Beautiful day! Lift lines moved quickly. Snow conditions good.
Excellent conditions, and superb piste staff. Helpful lift operators, and very nice patrollers. I was very much looking forward to the double-diamonds in the Eagle Ridge as some challenging pistes, but unfortunately that entire section was off-limits whilst I was there. Apparantly that's not uncommon if you're skiing there late December, so if I ever do return, I'll make sure to go later in the season so I can experience the best Marmot has to offer! On a side note about Jasper, I saw some incredible wildlife journeying to and from the resort. For a first time in Canada, it really was something special.
Such a great place to ski for all abilities. Plenty of easy ways down the mountain from all chairlifts.
Marmot basin is a great mountain for all skill levels from beginners to experts there's a trail for you. The staff is friendly and professional. That being said marmot is a late season mountain so for powder seekers I would say the best time to visit is February to March. Also if you're skill looking for a wide variety of very difficult trails this mountain is somewhat lacking in that area but for a people who want to take there family out skiing for the day it is perfect. One more thing is I would recommend to bring your own food because marmots food services are very pricey.
Awesome ski area but expensive... typical of all National Park ski resorts.
Marmot is a great resort for all levels and is well laid-out so that you can easily explore lots of terrain. Good parking lot design, you can ski in and out from where you park which saves the annoying trek with your skis. They don t have any on-hill accommodations but Jasper and Hinton are close by.
Great resort! Good mix of beginner and advanced runs. Not too crowded either!
Decent skiing place. You can ski directly to the four parking lots when you're done.
Great snow this year - don't miss it! The knob wasn't open because of avalanche concerns, but they were doing testing while I was there so maybe it's open now. Skiing was especially great under Paradise chair
Super fun place to shred. Getting a bit expensive, but you knew that when you got into skiing.
Marmot is breathtaking! Runs for all skill levels, accessible parking right by a run that gets you to a main lodge and chair lift. Works well for bringing your own lunch. We have escape cards which makes this an absolutely incredible experience for a decent price.
Had such a great day on the hill. I cant wait to come back.
Hit the powder day March 4, 2017, pretty awesome day, seemed like Marmot Basin fell asleep on the wheel in clearing parking lots early and prepping the road, huge line up I have never seen for many moons, actually ever since the 20 plus years. They knew the snow was coming, so they should have prepared. The huge dump made up for their actions. #explorejasper
Amazing hills, I mean mountains, to ride. Doesn't take long to get up the hill, the chairlifts are fast.
Looking at the piste map gives you an impression that this is a small resort however after skiing here for five days there was still more terrain to explore. With the open top of the mountain there is a lot of off piste skiing to get into and combined with tres hombres and eagle east this is will provide a challenge to the majority of skiers. From nearly every point the is an easy option down if needed, making it an excellent resort for all levels.
Snow was pretty awesome! Weather amazing. Singles line needs to be stopped. The reason for a singles line is to fill up a chair. We can t do that because of Covid, but a bunch of kids go into the singles line just to get front of line access. There should be line for all, alternating. A chair is now a chair whether there is one person or 4.
steep and deep.. try El Diablo, or Charlies bowl if you know what you are doing.. longest quad no lines.. good eats, easy going family atmosphere
Good for a family with runs for all the different skills. Never quite as busy and Sunshine and Lake Louise.
One of my favorite hills because its a great hill but also not nearly as busy the ones in banff area. The ski instructors are also some of the best there is.
Amazing place, like other mountain the snow is weather dependant and I was lucky.
That aside, the staff are very friendly, the buildings are cleaned routinely and they try their hardest to respect covid-19 restrictions.
I also enjoyed the park and ski down to the lift.
You can also ski in Austria .. but if you really want to experience something, you have to go to the Marmot Basin.
A good variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs. This hill tends to be quieter than Sunshine or Louise, which is nice. That and the Escape Card for 50% off a day pass make this a great choice for a ski weekend. Not as much night life in Jasper as there is in Banff, but it's perfect for families for this reason.
Another great day of skiing in these beautiful mountains
Family friendly ski resort....runs for every level of ski, beginner to expert.
Great local hill. Interesting terrain and quiet on weekdays.
Late season skiing was great! Lots of snow and basically no closed runs!
Really nice views up top but hard to get around, and the staff were very friendly.lots of trails to swoop around on.10/10 highly recommended
Well I'm from Edmonton and marmit basin is always worth a early morning drive to get some fresh snow
First time skiing and this was the perfect place to learn. Living in Jasper I got an Escape Card so lift tickets were only $55 a pop. There are plenty of green runs for beginners and I skied from top to bottom on day one which was a great feeling. There s no apres ski and everything shuts at 4:30 and you have to go home.
Came up for lunch and was really pleasantly surprised with the lounge food! We had the fish tacos and the taco salad with salmon and were very happy with taste, portion and creativity! Excellent service and fun drink features rounded out the experience, a great lunch in a fabulous setting!!
Not the largest of ski hills but one of its perks is how quiet it is through the week. Some days I feel like I am the only person on the hill. There is a nice little praise stunt park plus a larger one too with jumps. Only about 30 minute drive from the town of Jasper. Well worth the visit.
Took a 3 hour private lesson, had an immense time with a fantastic instructor! All the staff you came across were chatty and friendly.
Can't wait to get back
Awesome when there is good snow. Great views and easy to follow maps.
Amazing slopes and views, a treasure natural beauty.
Great resort, staff are best in industry. Super fun ski hill
Beautiful biginner to intermediate mountain, great place to learn or develop your skills
Great place to ski and snowboard within 4 hours of Edmonton, newer high speed quad to take you all the way from the bottom of the hill to the top means that you will be getting a bunch of good runs in.
Large flat sections are traps for boarders who don't maintain speed. Plenty of green runs for beginners. No gondola.
Marmot has many tree runs which I love! At the top of the mountain there are easy runs and more difficult ones. Many beginner skiers and snowboarders can go to the top of the mountain to enjoy the great view. When Marmot has a dump of snow it is the absolute BEST!
This ski hill is the best. The community is great and everybody is so welcoming
Amazing! Never have to wait for chair lifts, great snow, and jaspers gorgeous.
Hot dog toooooo juicy, hated it because of the cheeseburgers and friesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
This is a nice family ski hill. Amazing views, good variety of terrain, and nice lodges. The staff were all very friendly and it made for a great day out.
A great family resort. The conditions were amazing with mild temperatures and a solid base to cover 99% of the rocks. A nice array of runs from green to double black, could use a few more of the latter, but I'm not complaining.
One thing that does need a bit of work is their lift lines though. How hard is it to merge four lines into two into one, with a singles line on the inside. it was a complete gong show at the Eagle Ridge Chair. Four lines plus numerous unmarked single lines all meet in the middle and fend for yourself. I have never experienced such chaos. Similar experience at Paradise & just one long line at Knob. Should be an easy fix.
My family and I were at skiing Marmot on Feb. 2nd and we purchased a lesson, rental and lift ticket package. Unfortunately things did not go according to plan for us as there was a power outage in the area which included the town of Jasper for a couple of hours. This shut down most of the chair lifts and there was only access to the upper mountain chair lifts. We were with our younger kids and they had limited access to the chair lifts so they would not be able to go on the limited open lifts. We decided to pack it in after only skiing for about 1 hour and a half as there was no guarantee on how long the power outage would last at that time. When I talked to a lady at the ski lessons counter, she was very friendly but would not be able to provide an refund or resolution for us as the power was out. I sent a follow up email to the ski school a couple of days later and Colin who is the snow sports director was very helpful and was able to refund payment to us. I know that the power outage was out of their control but the staff remained very friendly and professional and we will certainly look forward to booking a trip back to Marmot in the future! Thanks again to the great staff at the ski school and rental areas.
Marmot is a good place to shred some gnarly slopes.
Best hill in Canada in my opinion and I've been to most. So much varied terrain, long runs, drops , pow, park, and the chairs are really good so even when it's "crowded" they u up pretty quick.I lived in Whistler for 7 seasons and I'de take this place over that Disneyland circus any day
Fun mountain. Lots of hidden gems. The tres hombres addition is pretty sweet. Just needs a bit more snow
First time skiing in 30 years. It all came back fast and Marmot was a great place for the whole family to learn to ski.
Amazing place to go skiing would reccomend to anyone who asks
Best ski hill I have ever been to and I have been to most in BC and Alberta.
Fun place for a day or skiing. Good for all levels.
Great hill. Good runs for every skill level. Come on a weekday and it's not busy.
Been skiing on " the hill " for 40 + yrs. Always good conditions, well groomed slopes & something for all ages. I won't tell you WHEN the best skiing is tho... have to have a few secrets! oh yeah... do kiffers dream
First time skiing outside of ontario. All i got to say is WOW!!! This is a great place as they have areas for all levels. Staff was super friendly.
Very beautiful, great hills. The bar staff was also very friendly with good memories.
Nice ski resort. Not as busy as the other nearby places. Nice variety or runs. Great for beginners.
One of my favorite mountains to snowboard. They do a great job of grooming their runs!!!
Skiing with the family. My kids first time at a mountain. Great facility and the weather was amazing.
This place is a joke. Charging $110 per day. Getting tickets was impossible as the printer wasn t working... (seriously?)
It s dec 31st and you guys have printer issues?
Marmot charges like a big resort but cannot offer big resort staff nor technology. I will spend my money in better places from now on.
Such an awesome ski resort! Great runs for every skill level! The ski chalet poutine is amazing!! Of course everything on the hill is overpriced, but that as to be expected.
Best hill for locals! Not as crowded or touristy as banff.
First time here and will be returning, love it with so many runs to choose from . Amiture all the way up to the experienced skier.
