Amazing outside that you wouldn't expect in that area (even close to the Design district). The food is good, but not necessarily authentic. The service is nice, but recommendations are also based on the $$$ signs on the menu.
It's been a nice experience and I would recommend to go here, but make your own decisions and don't order too much at once.

This is the best Italian food you can get in this town! It gives you real Italian food( great quality and taste) and also the atmosphere typical Italian! I recommend this restaurant for a date night or to go with friends and family! It s a must if you are visiting and if you are lucky enough to be living here you seriously can't miss it!

My wife and I had dinner at Mandolin this past Friday, and it was amazing! There was a hiccup during the reservation process. I had sent an e-mail and left a voice mail the day before requesting the reservation. I did not receive a response until 3 hours before the reservation telling me that they were fully booked. I was of course upset. However, when I responded to the e-mail expressing my disappointment, Mandolin (in particular Mehdi) was very apologetic and said they would do their best to accommodate us. They certainly did! When we arrived at the restaurant, I explained the situation to Luis, and he was able to find us the perfect table. We had a wonderful dinner; both the food (the fried zucchini and lamb) and service (Nelson) were fantastic. We will certainly return!

Been there a few times now, and it has been a satisfying experience each time. The seating in the back is nice and cozy the setting resembles an old Greek country home where you are tended to by gracious and attentive hosts. The food is simple but great , the condiments are the real Greek flavors down to the olive oil and the bread that comes warm in little paper bags. The dishes are authentic and delicious, the wine selection is nice to match up the fare, which is country style and so comforting, down to the Turkish coffee and the great story our waitress told us about the reading of the grounds. Definitely a favorite place for those who enjoy authentic Greek cuisine.

Love everything about this place! Great atmosphere feels like you're transported to a Greek Island. Food was on point and beautifully served. Our server was personable and very knowledgable about all the food and made drink suggestions as well. There is an incredible outdoor courtyard or you can eat in the dining room. Will definitely be back!!

The place we loved was in a very Greek family ..... but the dish that I ordered as well as my mother-in-law (it was like Lazagna de Beremjena) was not good it seemed old as it could no longer be sold and we arrived ... . there is not much variety of dishes ... maybe try and go to see what happens ..... next time ...

Everything was amazing, from the food to the wine to the people that work there! It's a very cool crowd and the vibe remind me Europe.
This Patio is very cute! It's a glamour restaurant for a party too!

A+++

Been coming here for a long time. My favorite Aegean spot. Everything on the menu is excellent and you can't beat the outdoor courtyard setting. Best grilled octopus ever! Baked feta is a staple and all in between. Baklava is a must try too.

If you're thinking of getting a table on a Friday or Saturday night make reservations at least 3 weeks in advance or more.

Stopped by here for dinner on a Friday night, and WOW! Walking into the secret garden restaurant we were met with beautiful decor that reminded us of a tropical island getaway and very friendly staff. The manager recommended us some dishes to try, and they were just phenominal. So good that My wife and I forgot to take pictures of the dishes. The beets in mint and yogurt sauce were truly amazing (and i dont even like beets!) The Turkish ravioli make me think that someone's grandmother is just making these fresh all day! A must go to!

Quality of food is excellent, I could say that no other restaurants could compare the taste. They have professional creativity in designing food. I also love the view for it is fantastic. The Water Menu, Coffee and Tea Menu which is fancy for people like me who is Asian not experiencing that much and hundreds of different types of water and coffee. I had a great experience here!

What amazing food. Not exactly the traditional Greek food I was expecting but a slight variation that makes it exquisitely unique! The grilled octopus... wow! I believe it was the eggplant stuffed zucchini or zucchini stuffed eggplant with yogurt... wow again. Only thing slightly off was parking. Which is no prob once you know they have a parking lot a little more than a short block away. Well worth it. Will definitely visit when I m back in Miami again. Also this is basically a covered outdoor spot so not every table is completely covered when it rains. But still absolutely worth it!

I don't usually like to put negative reviews, but here is why today I made:
GREAT LOCATION 5 stars
SERVICE 4 stars
PARKING 0 stars
FOOD 2 stars "the selection is not the best, and miss tons of good Greek dishes, and the food we ordered wasn't good; Mussels were tasty really bad - octopus was simple without anything on it, was not look fresh, and it was really strong - cheese saganaky was really small but good - desert selection wasn't so original but tumour was good"
PRICES 2 stars Definitely is an expensive place if you consider the quality of food, and a little over the average of Miami for this kind of restaurants"
RESULT:
If you want to have a nice and romantic dinner, without any special interest in the food menu and quality, you must to consider to visit this place, maybe we get unlucky with our food, and your could be luckier than us...

This is a super cool Greek bistro at the Design District a few blocks from the stores. Food is very good and the ambiance is amazing: small, charming, down to earth. Excellent option when visiting the District but make reservations, place is packed. Prices are OK for the quality of food. We had the Greek sample mezze, super fresh fried calamari and a delicious kebab. The outside patio is the best place to be so going in the summer could be a bad ideia (although I went in July in a cloudy day and it was manageable). There are a few tables inside but then you will miss the whole point of the place.

Wow!!! This doesn't feel like Miami! The vibe and atmosphere takes me straight back to Greece. It is so beautiful and the food is even better!
Everything here is delicious. I'm a vegetarian, and I recommend the dips, the salads, the feta cheese, the halloumi, sometimes they'll make vegetarian gyros etc. This is the kind of place you just keep coming back to, over and over again... Well done Mandolin, thank you!!

Extremely rude door girl. She has a very bad attitude that ruined our entire dinner experience at this awesome place. We did not expect this bad service at the door. Otherwise the food was great.
Manager at the time "Paul" did what he must do with a dissatisfied customer and diffused the situation. Good guy.

We will definitely come back to this restaurant ONLY if they truelly work on some of their employees attitude.

A note to the owner: I've read through the comments below and everyone agrees that the food and place are great BUT poor customer service. You probably want to work on that.

by far one of the best restaurant i ever been sooo fresh, the home made bread with the samplers, is the best bread in miami and by far one of the best service i ever had in design district, i went for lunch and was amazing, i cant wait to go on dinner. 100% recomended.

Food was great but had an issue being seated. It's probable an isolated incident but they need to know how to handle this kind of situation.

Basically we get in quickly we are approached by this guy who ask us to wait. Few minutes later he lets in bunch of people who came after us. Finally when we are all that's left he comes to us and before he says anything I ask him, are we ready? He replied, ready for what? To be seated I replied, you asked us to wait. He say he is never seem me in his life that I must have confused him with another guy. Least to say situation turned ackward.

We will see next Time.

When you enter the restaurant, it's beautiful. Even on a hot scorching day in Souhth Florida. The staff was nice. Our waitress was present however not approachable. We would ask a question and it was like..what you see is what you get. The food was good. Everyone's dish looked very nice. The rating of 3 stars is because both bathrooms where out if order on a busy Sunday afternoon, we had a very pregnant friend with us and our non approachable waitress said we had to walk a block down the street to use the bathroom. Not the best news to hear since we were a large group and the restaurant was full. We went and they were nice and let us use the bathroom. The 2nd reason for the 3 stars is when we went to get our cars, we noticed it wasn't in the lot, they were parked in another block. That wasn't my issue...they were behind by 9 cats with no staff. The valet rep called Mandolin for runners and there were none available. So we had to wait almost 30 minutes in the heat. I think mandoulin is a great place, they probably should've been better prepared and had staff available to assist with valet.

Amazing atmosphere with outdoor and indoor dining area ,beautiful restaurant inspired by the tavernas of Aegean coastal towns with a Greek and Turkey Cuisine, staff very friendly and knowledgeable, valet parking close to the restaurant not complimentary, good price ,great selection on the menu ,cozy market in the background

Ok. Everybody says that this is a fantastic restaurant. It is not. It s like other Mediterranean restaurant, but, the prices are exorbitant.
I had lamb chops, they were good, as it has to be, but not exceptional. The price for 4 lamb chops and rice, $44.00. It s very expensive. Another thing, if you order a coke, they serve a very small bottle of coke, I think it is 200ml.... the price: $6.00 per bottle. I had also grilled octopus, also ok, nothing excepcional, but it s only one tentacle for $22.

What a great place! We had my wife's birthday party for 15 guests there, & the restaurant was able to handle it all. Wonderful location & setting, very attentive staff, & fantastic food. A little pricey but you will truly get all you pay for. Everyone in my party asked "How did you find this place?"

I heard about this place that the food is very good. The only reason I give the 3 stars is because the night that I tried to have dinner with my wife and some friends the host was very dismissive and I noticed a lack of effort on her side to try to accomodate our party. We ended up going south into downtown, were we had an amazing dinner experience. Maybe next time there is a different host, or at least that host will be in a better mood.

On my first visit, the waiter that entertained my order was very nice, friendly, and helpful. He served me the right foods and drinks that I ordered, and shock when it tastes very good and tasty. Also, the ambiance was cozy, clean, and comfortable to stay in a couple of hours. All in all, I greatly loved visiting this restaurant. It was affordable, beautiful, and good place needs to visit. Don't miss these guys!

The food and service was good which gets a three; but there s no self parking within sight but there s a valet - a gravel laden wet area - you drive to a block and a half away where, when all is said and done, you may end up like I did with cement on your mat, left resting foot pedal, gas and break and pedal, and if you don t notice, tracked inside your home.

I had dining at mandolin for the third time, while we walked in the hostess walked us towards our table. few minutes later the server ( I believe her name is Barbara because that's what was written in the check ) came straight pooring the house water in our glasses with no greetings whatsoever or asking us if we prefer bottle water or house water. we asked her if we can have lemonade and she said they only have blueberries lemonade today. my friend asked her we can have just regular, her answer was so harsh with her tone of voice. she said that they never had reg lemonade and my friend told her that she had it before here since she is a regular customer to them but the server reply was even stronger. she said that she has been working there for 8 years and she never served that. we ended up not having the lemonade and then the server walked away. 15 minutes later waiting for her to come back to take our order while I was looking at her taking the orders from three tables and one of them even sat after us. then I see her walking away. I had to raise my hand waiving to a different server asking her if she can take our order and I asked her if she can be our server and I don't want the other girl to come near my table with such an attitude. I was having a special dinner with my friend's family and I did not want to ruin my dinner and start complaining because in that case I would just leave. the food was absolutely stunning and never disappointing and I give the full credit to the chef since I do work in this industry I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my guest as well.

The ambiance, the food and staff - absolutely perfect dinner experience. One of the most romantic restaurants in Miami, perfect also for larger groups. In terms of food - the menu contains the best of Turkish and Greek dishes - perfectly executed. Definitely a must go for Miami!

I ve never been more impressed and this excited about a restaurant in america before. Honestly obsessed with this restaurant. Every single thing I ordered was Wow!! The tomatoes are unreal; my dad said they were the best he s ever had. The most perfect french fries + garlic greek yogurt sauce. Super tender pulpo. The turkish sampler with the hummus, chopped tomato, and baba ganoush was incredible (served with fresh warm bread). I dream about their bougatsa (vanilla custard pastry dessert). Dying to try the whole menu! The setting here is beautiful, with majority of the tables outside surrounded by trees. The facade is blue and white adorned with pink flowers and looks right out of greece! If there s a long wait (most likely will be) just do it, it s SO WORTH IT!!!

Comunal table is not communal. They had to check if the two couples, sitting side by side, were ok with having us (another couple), sitting in front of them. The hostess seemed very confused about our questions and had to go ask for help. Ridiculous. I like the place less now.

This restaurant had been serving good food and providing exceptional service for longer than I can remember. Location is convenient, unconventional, and provides a beautiful view of the town. Perfect for a special event or a business dinner. We enjoyed our family celebration here very much. We will be back!
