I met with a friend at the lobby lounge. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed while I waited for my friend. I also loved the holiday decorations in the lobby and the food was delicious. Thanks!

We always love staying at the Mandarin, the service is always excellent! We had beautiful room service and afternoon tea, great to know they have gluten-free bread for those who are sensitive. Having reserved time slots to use the pool privately is a fun and safe option for families!

For a 5 Star hotel they do well to uphold and maintain their reputation. However one of the ladies at the front desk was inattentive. Maybe because I am much younger than the majority of the people that were checking in at the same time. Besides her being impertinent it was a really great stay. I would be hesitant to comeback because of her service though.

Location it's a bit of the main atractions. Absolutely top service. They have a great sushi restaurant at the hotel, the front desk told me on my arrival that it was reservation only, when there to make a reservation and the chef told me it's recommend but not required.

I could not say more about how lovely and amazing my stay was here. From the accommodating staff, the gentleness of their interaction with customers, the quality of decor, furniture, and aesthetic was astounding. This little middle class suburb girl felt like the 1%. I will be back for sure!

Nice and excellent service, location wise is good but the traffic is very bad around this area. Roads get blocked and you find yourself lost and stuck in traffic for couple of times before you can get back to the hotel.

The property is still well maintained and as luxurious as ever, though I can't say that bringing kids to the place is a good idea. Somehow the luxury hotel isn't designed for the little ones. The luxury is abundant but not really much for kids to do at the hotel.

The property shows its luster though it is losing it somewhat and it shows. The hotel is upkept well and the location is great too close to everything but still away from all the major tourist attractions behind the Department of Agriculture. The amenities are great and the rooms are well maintained and clean and are set up absolutely great.

I had visited with family over Thanksgiving weekend, which is sort of dead time in Washington, DC, so the rates were great. The staff at the hotel are very friendly though I may not visit the restaurants at the hotel. While service there is great it is not much for dinner or lunch IMHO but more for breakfast.

The bar in the lobby is wonderful in both food and drink and service is top notch, but I still think that more amenities for kids would make it more family friendly, so if you have a chance to visit it's a good place to stay.

Attended the Washingtonian Wedding 2020 and it was all glitz and glamour. Staff were friendly too. Looking for a classic hotel close to important places in DC, look no further

I have stayed at a few 5 star hotels but this one is the best. The staff treated us very well. Most of them knew my wife and I by our first names. Phillip was the most helpful concierge. He recommended wide variety of places to eat, made reservations, got us tickets to some of the museums and even arranged for some of our transportation. The room was immaculate. Our view of the Jefferson memorial was great. We ate breakfast at the club lounge. The food was delicious. We will be coming back next year.

5 stars for service, bright and refreshing decor, banquet staff and service was second to none and comfortable and luxurious rooms. The grounds were gorgeous and we enjoyed our morning walk that lead us quickly to nearby memorials and scenic spots. Breakfast buffet that was delicious and our table view of the water was a special touch. The staff was focused on guests and refreshingly attentive. After asking for directions to a bathroom, a staff member not only walked me there but engaged in conversation about my stay. Unbelievable experience for a onr night stay. The parking valet staff was equally as attentive and engaging. Although our visit was for a small business event, this hotel is on our list for a personal visit in the near future. Bravo to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. We felt so welcomed and comfortable, these people are hospitality experts!

Wow! So happy with my stay! Booked this hotel for a wonderful rate at . I like this resort and I'm really happy I stayed at my favorite hotel for much less than what I usually pay.

Stayed here for a conference and I must say it was amazing. Modern room and very clean. Staff was friendly and easy to deal with. Food and drinks were decent and reasonably priced for the area. This is one of the best hotels I ve stayed in and would highly recommend for a luxurious stay.

Booked a weekend here. Showed up and they said we could not check in because " their reservation" system was down. We had paper confirmation but then they said there was no way to check which rooms were clean (how about looking at them and making a list!) So their solution was to find another DC hotel since they had no idea when their reservation system would be up. Seems strange right? Other guests behind us went through the same weird conversation with front desk, some with little more push-back than we offered . Their solution: give us $30 for cab fare and say good bye. Oh, they did offer to call another hotel in DC (at about 2:pm on Saturday in July) but of course we could do that ourselves. So we canceled our room, our dinner reservation and our spa treatment reservations, got in the cab and rode off. Not going back of course.

I stayed here over a weekend while I was in DC. It was a very nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and have a nice design. The bathrooms are big and beautiful. Everything is upgraded with up to date tech in the whole hotel. The beds were very comfortable to sleep on. The hotel service was great. The rooms were clean and the maids came by twice a day to clean the room and fix the beds. Honestly I can't find anything to criticize. I would definitely come back here again.

Our daughter s wedding was just there this past we...

Our daughter s wedding was just there this past weekend and I wish we could be focusing on all the wonderful touches the hotel originally put into our stay as parents of the bride but instead I have to deal with how they put a hold on our account for the cost of our hotel room that was already paid for in full by the grandmother of the bride two hours before we checked out. We told the girl at arrival not to charge us for the room on this card because someone is taking care of it, she assured us it would only be used for incidentals. That turned out to be totally false because there wasn t any incidentals and they charged our account after it was paid in full for as well as parking. While the staff is courteous upon arrival and do things like give you sample of their tea, give the children stuffed animal pandas(which was wonderful), and upgrade your rooms as parents of the bride, they need to seriously improve their check out accuracy and train their staff better in this particular area, as well as how to handle correcting their mistakes.
We spoke to someone later that day when we saw a hold on our account for the cost of our room who obviously knew nothing when they told me it hadn t been paid for yet. We called back with the paperwork that stated paid in full, $0 balance. We spoke with Nabeel he said yes it s paid for already and this is just a pending charge, which had no business pending because it was paid in full hours before we even left the hotel. He said because it was Sunday he would talk to accounting first thing Monday morning and expedite fixing this error latest by Tuesday, it is now Wednesday and we ve heard nothing, tomorrow is Thanksgiving holiday and they have completely ignored us and let it go into being an issue for the remainder of our trip here for our daughters wedding.
My husband called today,Pat put him straight to voicemail, then when he called back she was really rude and dismissive when he ask to speak to an actual person instead of being forwarded to voicemail. Then I called two hours later because no one reached out to us and the same woman sent me to accounting voicemail. After leaving a message they did not return our calls at any point to follow up with us and show initiative in letting us know what they have done to fix this hold of funds. I really wish they had better customer service and had not ended our beautiful stay with such disregard. As a five star hotel it s really important not to make mistakes like this. And in all honesty a lot of money was spent on this wedding at their hotel, and as parents of the bride our check out should not have had charge errors and been a priority in being resolved quickly once brought to their attention.

Aside from this, the rooms are wonderful and clean. The upgrades for the families for weddings are amazing. As for the reception we had many complaints from guests that the staff took their food before they could eat it, even after told not to. The bride never even tasted her food because of the same issue and their cake was given to some guests then they tossed the entire cake instead of giving the rest to the couple to do with it as they wished. The bride and groom didn t eat the meal they paid for or their wedding cake, which is unexceptable. More care must go into training the staff on these details during the biggest day of their lives. To say they never tasted their food or cake on their wedding day is an awful memory. The sweetheart table should never be touched without permission first.
There are many wonderful things about the hotel and if these areas are improved then they have the potential to be a five star hotel and keep that lovely impression you get on your way in all the way to the end of your experience.
On a good note I heard the couple is extremely grateful for Michael their coordinator and he made the bride, our daughter, feel relaxed and well taken care of which they will remember forever. Nothing will change the fact that my daughter getting married was an amazing precious day.
Hope this helps

Greetings,

Greetings,

Staff was the best thing about our stay, they were attentive and charming. Our room, was lacking in amenities, the room was extremely loud from the AC/Heater and very-very loud noises from the outside environment, specially when a helicopter went by every few minutes and vibrates the entire room. Went to take a hot tub, and immediately got a call from the staff stating that water was leaking downstairs which took the joy of the shower. and end-up having to take a regular shower. The shower was advertised as a rain shower, and it was just a regular shower. different night stands on the room looked ridiculous, you only can turn off the be light from the right side, the curtains do not close all the way, leaving gap and getting hit by the sun first thing tin the morning. there were no complimentary tea/coffee/ toothpaste/mouthwash/ etc
The hotel was empty and felt like a ghost town, yet we could not even get a room upgrade.
Will be staying in the Tyson Ritz or at the Watergate hotel next time.
Some refund would be appreciated.

This hotel is amazing!! Beautiful views, comfy bed, big luxury bathroom, nice room service. The hotel itself seems very up to date we tried the breakfast bar which was very good and very good selection. We did not get to try out the spa service hopefully next time. Also its not a bad walk over to the museums. We are hoping to return to this hotel again.

Celebrated my boyfriends birthday I wanted to do something special given we weren't able to travel so started looking for 5 star hotels. There were two others that I had made a reservation but upon the reviews they didn't look too good especially during COVID. I fell upon the Mandarin Oriental, I checked the websited looked at the reviews it was definitely what I was looking for. So we checked in they did temperature check the front desk lady was very nice and as we were checking in wished him a happy birthday. We got to the room and it was beautiful, great view of the Potomac, they also had birthday treats for my boyfriend as well. Room service was lovely quick and efficient. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!!

Brought my family for the weekend. The hotel is very accommodating to children and the service is 5 star. The Restaurant on site is very good and the room service is priced modestly compared to other five star hotels in the city which makes eating breakfast with 3 kids less of a choir then going to the lobby each morning.

We spent a night in a king room at The mandarin Oriental and it was perfect! All of the staff was amazing, friendly, and accommodating. The room was large with a gorgeous bathroom that had a large tub and walk in shower. Room service was prompt, but as pricey as one would expect. The bed was a highlight it was one of the most comfortable belts and pillows I've ever slept on. Another huge plus was the location, close to the mall and waterfront. When we checked out we were sad to hear the shipment of the pandas they give to young guests was delayed but the gentleman working reception offered to mail one to us for our daughter when they arrived! How nice! We would love to stay here again. The pool area was also a huge plus and our daughter loved it.

Very nice hotel but still working on their systems. No TV throughout the hotel put a dent in the experience while trying to watch New Years Eve football or watching the ball drop. Imagine a lobby NYE party where the bootlegged internet feed freezes right before midnight. Very disappointing which actually caused us to check out early despite a late check-out. Next time, I will try other options in such a competitive DC luxury hotel market.

We happened upon the restaurant inside the hotel, Muze, trying to find something open in this corner of DC on Saturday night. Happily, our dinner was a great experience. The service was attentive and the for was delicious. I recommend the crab dip and the lobster sandwich. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the expense for an occasional night out. I would recommend to anyone.
