We got kicked out because we were catching Pokmon there and they decided they didnt want us near the hotel for 30 min.
Money is worth the experience and Toya has magic hands!
Beautiful hotel and a very luxurious stay. Our bed, pillows and sheets where very soft. Our room 747 was a quiet with a view of the river, a good size and the bathroom very spacious - both are beautifully designed, minimum and modern with Asian touches in the furniture. We had a fantastic lunch, room service desert and breakfast. They play peaceful music in the lobby, the staff are so positive and helpful! This gym was the most fully equipped hotel gym I have ever seem - I love this hotel and really recommend it!
Beyond ridiculously amazing! I'm hoping when I retire to just take a room for the last 20 years of my life LOL
Great location. You're within walking distance of the mall and a majority of the museums. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Loved the view from the club lounge, as well.
4th or 5th July 4th 3 day stay.
Love the hotel, superb staff, immaculate facilities, excellent food. Not inexpensive but a wonderful in town getaway.
Dinner at the Asian restaurant was fantastic. The cost for valet is a little crazy but this is DC after all.
My wife and I stayed a night Five stars all the way, we were offered free car service for a night out. Rooms are nice including the service. The service and hotel I would recommend !
My only complaint is we had breakfast at Muze restaurant located inside the hotel. We were seated in the far right Conner of the restaurant, next to an exit away from everyone. Basically in isolation I informed the host we feel isolated from everyone else who is seated in the day area. He offered to change our seats but never did.
good place stay in Washington. modern room and good view of the white houses and Washington monument and good food and best serves
Very clean and I got a room with a great view. It was unfortunate the staff couldn't arrange two connecting rooms. That's the only reason why it is missing a star. When we checked in, they said the other room was being cleaned. Then we check with them again in an hour and they said it's taken. A dent in my vacation with my friends.
Although, I wish they could open the pool hours for longer.
We are attending wedding and this hotel is amazing with wonderful staffs with always wanted to make your stay memorable. We come to DC every year for meeting and stay at JWMarriott on Pennsylvania Avenue and Hyatt Regency at Capitol hill. This hotel staff is far far far better then that hotels.
Walk in the front door to a pretty, wide open restaurant/lounge/bar. Servers were wonderful. Told the mgr, "Give them a raise!"
Bar in the lobby has wonderful staff who know how to make a mean cocktail!
I feel silly giving this really well-resourced hotel 4 stars. The rooms are beautiful. There have been times where there were long waits to check in. Also, I feel a little bit nervous around the particular style that this hotel staff are trained to speak to guests... very intense!
I haven't actually stayed at the hotel, but I do work down the street and walk by it every day on my daily walk. Everyone has always been very friendly even though I am not a guest there. (And during the earthquake a few years ago, they brought out cases of water for those of us standing outside of our buildings waiting for an all clear.)
But today they went above and beyond! I walked all over the area looking for a Washington Post newspaper for a friend who wanted the cover picture of the Nationals winning the World Series. I had no luck and on a whim, I decided maybe the hotel would have an extra one I could purchase that their guests did not want. They were kind enough to provide me a copy of the newspaper at no charge. I cannot tell you how happy this made me.
Thank you for being so kind and courteous to someone who isn't even a guest there.
When this hotel opened almost twenty years ago, I promised myself that one day I would stay there. 4/7/21 was the day my dream came true, and it was so much more than I could've even imagined. If you stay here and don't have at least one meaningful and memorable interaction with a staff member, you've missed out on an essential part of the Mandarin experience. The Mandarin is opulent without pretention, full of unexpected wonder and joy, and it filled me up after feeling isolated for such a long time. The in-room dining service is presented so beautifully on silver trays and the food is wonderful. I was surprised with desserts and champagne--all these things that showed me how much the staff cared about making my visit special. The spa is soothing and I was greeted so warmly there--I was a little nervous about it because I have a disability. My room had a relaxing view of the water, and I'm going to miss that marble spa bathroom with the huge tub!! What a relaxing bathing space... I won't forget that. But more than anything else, I'll never ever forget the kindness of the staff. I'm crying just thinking about it all. Thank you for making my stay magical, Mr. Shibuya, Ms. Saida, and so many others! I love the Mandarin so much!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Excellent staff. Obvious effort to clean continually. Pool is pleasant.
The service at the restaurants is indifferent and just plain bad! They can't control the climate of their restaurants or the connection to the kitchen! All in all a truly disastrous experience: a mere shadow of what was a good hotel!!
Beautiful hotel with excellent service. A quick walk from the Metro. Visited for a conference not for an overnight stay.
Very nice hotel. Went for an event and it was very nice.
From what I saw or the hotel, seemed really nice. Was there for professional event. Food served was excellent. Drinks were good, the meeting room we were in was nice as well.
An amazing hotel. Luxe and comfortable. The location is quiet but it's really close to the National Mall and very close to DCA airport.
Great location and fantastic concierge who can get you tickets to African American History Museum. Restaurant has the best miso soup as well!
Excellent stay, room was beautiful and we will be staying there again.
Was there for an event. The decor was nice and so was the staff. Location is a bit out of of the way, though.
Very luxurious hotel. Pricey but worth the attention.
A hotel, that lives up to its name. Staff was courteous and professional. Rooms are clean and with a good view of the Washington Monument.
Very nice rooms, clean, they pay close attention to detail.
Great staff. Great rooms. Good location to see stuff at the mall
I loved this hotel. Exceptional service from room service to the person who opens the doors in the lobby. Extremely clean and fresh. Had such a great time staying here. I would give it more stars if I could.
Staff very helpful and attentive. Bed comfortable. Room was as described. Pool very pleasant. Room service quick.
I enjoyed my stay. The room had great views of the Mississippi river! The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was quiet and no external noise
When staying here I was not told what services were available and which ones were not granted it was during the Pandemic. I felt as if for as much as I was paying for my stay they should be well described to me on the website or in the confirmation email. For example, the complementary ride service was available one day and then I asked another day and they said it is temporarily unavailable. I also believe that the In-Room dining service was rather rude and extremely short on the phone a few times while other times they were very helpful so it varied by the employee. The valet service was not up to par in my opinion, as the night we checked in we had to wait for the valet to even arrive and come to the car. Customer service is very very important I believe and which is why I was bothered by these things. The "fan of MO" program was also confusing and I was entirely flabbergasted that the Wifi was not complementary unless I joined the rewards program.
Exemplary experience. This is by far one of the best hotels on the area and perhaps the east coast.
The Mandarin Oriental in DC is truly spectacular. From the new and stylish building, awesome and spacious rooms to the first class and responsive staff, you'll be thrilled with your stay.
Absolutely wonderful stay! My husband and I have visited several times over the last couple of years and we are never disappointed! The hotel is beautiful and clean, the food is delicious, and the spa is luxurious, but the staff really set this hotel apart. The staff is continually attentive and thoughtful to our needs to allow us to enjoy our stay, even without our asking. We felt extremely safe with their Covid precautions. We will look forward to returning in the near future!
First time! I've always wanted to stay here and I'm so glad I did. Everything was amazing and it's honestly a place where you feel like you are taking a vacation even if you live down the street, as i do. I love the fact that there are books in the room for you to read, leave or take. I loved the detailed attention of housekeeping. The spa was amazing. You must try the OM effect. Truly amazing. Hydrotherapy was also grest!! We had a waterfront room, which wasn't huge but just right for myself and husband. The bathrooms are pretty large, containing a shower and soaking tub. The front desk also offers a mail service, which truly came in handy for me!
We went for the breakfast buffet. The food was cold and several key components of the buffet were depleted and never refilled. It ain't like the buffet the old restaurant, The Muse, once had. The manager was gracious enough to charge us only half, which was still too much to pay for what we got.
Great spa. Really enjoyed myself. Courteous staff. The restaurant had really good food. I'd definitely stay here again.
Beautiful Hotel, over-looking the Tidal Basin and Cherry Blossoms. Best parts are the best-in-class spa, selection of properly made teas, beautiful grounds, immaculately maintained everything and a very responsive and empathetic hotel manager.
Creme de la creme. Over the top. Mind blowing accommodations. Continues to have surprises in the minute detail. Fantastic staff.
Amazing staff that is super attentive. Great property! Comfortable, quiet rooms. 2nd visit and would highly recommend
Beautiful hotel. Best I've ever been to. Hotel staff is also extremely kind and helpful.
Worst afternoon tea experience I've had. I expect a lot from a property of this caliber but was seriously let down. I was there with a friend who runs a cafe and my sister who goes to afternoon tea service all over the world and we were all very unimpressed. Food was average, tea portion was small and everything felt unprepared/rushed.
The actual hotel facilities are great. But what's with the racist name?
Amazing artisan cocktails. Love the rose infused gin and the lavender perfume drinks!
Went for a fancy high tea for a friend s birthday. Had high expectations given the cost. We made them aware of the social occasion and a food allergy when we booked. Our table was beautiful, but unfortunately it was one mishap after another: we didn t receive the full menu spread (no scones??), the allergy we noted wasn t dealt with, one of the dishes was undercooked, our birthday cake didn t come for ages, and the bill was incorrectly calculated. We talked to the manager, who was very gracious and brought free prosecco, but the afternoon was ruined. Would not recommend.
This is a great hotel with a wonderful staff specifically Yousef and Searra. Thanks for making our visit to DC special!
Incredible rooms, service, and overall experience. Stay on the club lounge. One of the best hotel club lounges I ve experienced!
Not exactly the most convenient hotel in DC, but it was a nice stay. We did not have much of a view from our room.
Come every year and the service is always amazing. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
Yikes, my daughter stayed there, I only visited. It is super, very service oriented.
Excellent, friendly staff. Beautiful, spotlessly clean room. Wonderful view of the Potomac. Delicious food in the hotel restaurant.
Ahoy hoy! Quite outstanding! We were looking for a quick bite in a pinch as we only had 45 minutes before attending an art exhibit at the nearby Artechouse. The concierge at the Mandarin suggested a quick bite at the Empress Lounge which was both speedy and delicious. Wonderful service and plan to return when I can spend more time perhaps with my servants to haul Louis Vuitton travel wardrobe up to the room!
Great service ok food at the restaurant not much choice but the food was delicious
Incredible hotel, spa, and food. Staff and concierge are fantastic. They brought us an HDMI cable at 1am. Stella s massage at the spa was amazing.
Classy, great service, good food. Convenient location, views of national monuments, well appointed rooms.
Great luxury place. The beds are so confortables. You never want to wake up. Ideal To be with family, by your self or in business trip. Great location close to the National Mall and all the downtown area.
Very friendly staff. I highlight Lawrence in front desk and Andrea in concierge desk. Congratulations for your kind and helpful service.
The hotel is elegant yet cozy and the food very tasty. Vast breakfast options. Very well located, you are in the Mall in ten minutes walking.
Our room on the Club floor, wonderful. Large, with high ceilings and spacious bathroom with a large tub. Very good quality toiletries. The bed ... fantastic!
I will definitely come back to this hotel on my next visit.
