Brasserie does an excellent Sunday Roast with a buffet starter (chef's table) and then your choice of main. The roast beef (beef rib) was done perfectly and complemented well with a delicate gravy and veg. Good wine options too, maybe a little but more expensive but it is in a boutique hotel.

Pros:

Pros:

- The staff are great. Incredibly kind and helpful.
- It s a nice location, easily accessible via public transport with routes to both the city centre and the airport within a 10 minute walking distance.
- We were able to store our luggage after check-out.

Cons:

- The room wasn t what you might expect for the money. Small, a niche but yet not overly appealing design (personal taste) and few to no amenities (other than the overpriced mini-bar).
- The bathroom was adequate but by no means an enjoyable experience.
- Adjacent apartments had a direct view into our room.

Conclusion: A good hotel if you need somewhere to stay. Not ideal for special occasions. Did not appear to me, to be worth what was paid.

I know I'm turning into an old codger but I judge a hotel by their beds, and being able to stretch out and enjoy one. But the one I was given was two single beds with single sheets etc pushed together. A budget hotel I stayed in when last in Edinburgh had a large and comfortable bed. This hotel has a good reputation with my work colleagues and it was wholly satisfactory for an overnight stay, though I'm glad I wasn't paying.

Rooms were ok. Shower head was dirty and shower was pitiful and kept cutting out. The dinner was horrible and overpriced. My husband received raw chicken wings for a starter. Kind of put a dampener on the whole night. Steak was ok but for 29 quid I'd expect at least a salad with it. Won't be returning.

Decent facilities, comfortable beds and has bar and resturant which serve decent food. Breakfast can be improved as in this day and age pork heavy breakfasts are not the trent, healthier options would be helpful and provide the gusts with better options, I liked this hotel, but breakfast was very disappointing, hence 4 stars.

Plush hotel in Leigh. Great WiFi but no air con for those rare hot nights in Scotland. I opened the window but then could not close it. Being late I did not report to reception as I needed sleep. A noisy night. I could hear other rooms plumbing and the lift.
Worrying I saw exposed electrics in the bathroom and wardrobe. No mattress protectors consequently i

Hotel itself is quite nice rooms are well equipped and clean found the bathroom to be cold even though the towel rail was on we were in room 124 which was on the side of the hotel overlooking the road and entrance the road works storage unit which started work at 6 o'clock in the morning which was unbelievably noisy and we also had the noise from the air conditioning unit so sleep quality was quite poor staff were friendly and professional would I stay again not while the road works were happening which we were told by the hotel receptionist that it was for the next 3 years

We had a wonderful stay at Malmaison. The three course dinner was delicious and the cocktails were especially tasty (we chose from Mal's own options rather than the classics). For breakfast we had a very pleasant selection from the continental table and we both opted for something a bit different from the hot menu. Usually go for the full English, however this time I had Eggs Benedict and the other half went for Kippers! Very happy we were too with our little breakfast adventure. The room was fine and the bed very comfortable. Checking in and checking out took surprising long which was more amusing than anything else.

Have stayed in Malmaisons before and always had a excellent stay and the Edinburgh one is no different our suite was spotless and simply stunning. The best night's sleep I've had in a hotel. The food is also amazing and the location is gorgeous down by the water. The staff are super helpful and accommodating. Will happy stay again.

Come here to celebrate my birthday in August, and it looks like it. The hotel is very relaxing, very beautiful, I missed the expensive things? Let me explain, the price is really expensive, and what kind of hotel you choose depends on you. I paid $15 for a drink here, which is normal, but have you paid $36 for a glass of grey goose coffee Martini? I am not kidding, not only this hotel. When the hotel decides what to buy, be sure to check the price of food and drinks.

Easy to park for free very close by. Stylish reception efficient and friendly service. We were given the option to upgrade, which we took, it felt like we had the top floor to ourselves.

The room was a painted a bit dark, but otherwise classy and clean. Great shower in room 418, but no bath. Breakfast was pretty good but pricey.

We visited here for the first night of our honeymoon. We had a deal with free prosecco on arrival but were offered champagne which was nice. Our room also had a little message saying congratulations made out of sweets. A really nice touch. Room was spacious, modern and the bed was massive and so comfy. Would definitely visit again!

I have stayed in several Malmaison hotels over the years and looked forward to staying here. On arrival the hotel looks great from the outside and reception area. Check in staff were friendly and efficient and our room was ready early. The deluxe room looked good on arrival but on closer inspection was tired and the bathroom in need of some minor repairs. In the morning a fire alarm sounded and the hotel evacuated. I appreciate that the staff were as much in the dark as we were, but there was a lack of communication at all stages. Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly on check out. I was disappointed this time but I wouldn't say don't go there. I think the hotel needs to make some improvements.

Good hotel! Please know that it's located in the 'new city', but it is possible to rent an Uber to be in the old town in less than 15 minutes. We had a huge room, with Cityview, but we had an quiet stay. Really friendly and happy people!

The hotel is well located, it's really nice to walk on the streets near the hairbour. In the rooms : coffee and tea, hairdryer and cosy decoration. They are very comfy and modern. The bathroom is perfect : clean with bath and the stuff you'll need. Staff was really reactive when we had a little problem with the noise of the ventilator in our bathroom before going to bed : they offered us to change room just to sleep tight and return to the other room in the morning. We really appreciated the efficience of the receptionist.

I visited before, once again very nice stay, room clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was good, did not go for the hot option as unlimited buffet offered plenty of options. I would recommend to use Google maps for driving directions as some local roads are closed and my sat nav did not have the latest updates.

Booked rooms here for my brother who enjoyed his stay. Rooms often on a deal so can be good value. Bar and restaurant ok but much better places nearby. Have also used the meeting room facilities which were great so would recommend for business events.

The rooms weren't ready for the stated check-in time so we had lunch at the bar...huge mistake, terrible service and almost an hour wait for basic overpriced and very small portions of finger food. Eventually in the room we discovered there were no toiletries.

Delicious meal and the room was clean and roomy but we had upgraded our room and were sorry we bothered. Sure you get a river view and a coffee machine but that's about all. Relatives with us who didn't upgrade agreed their room was just as good as ours. The bathroom was supposedly better but it looked like it had been painted by someone with the shakes given all the white paint splattered on the black floor tiles and the edge of the shower/bath surround. Even the coat hook on the back of the door was splodged with paint. It just looked a bit amateurish. Its a small complaint really because the bed was comfy, the room quite well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic meal in the restaurant - compliments to the chef and waiting staff there.
