'Out of town' as such in Leith but a lovely seaside sort of area, nice room on the water side, clean smart and well appointed.
Reception could do with being a proper reception (nothing like the photo!)

I took advantage of the brilliant 3 nights for the price of 2 offer, just after lockdown was lifted. I was very impressed by the measures the hotel had taken to ensure our safety and felt very safe. There was no housekeeping during my stay so no-one else entered my room. A continental breakfast was included in the deal with plenty of choice and particularly good fruit salad. The bed was as fabulously comfortable as Malmaison beds always are. It was a wonderful break in these troubled times.

Didn't stay here, just wandered in on a wet Monday morning and asked if we could have breakfast, which was top quality. Good service and a decent range of cooked items, plus an extensive range of fruit, cereal, yogurt and pastries.

Amazingly relaxed Sunday lunch in idyllic location next to the water. Beautiful brasserie, exemplary service, lovely ambience, perfect for a lazy Sunday lunch. Away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Perfectly cooked lunch with a great hors d'ouerves table to commence including salads, soups and cold cuts.

Great location, right on the docks. Staff are very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. The beds are supper comfy!! Hotel does look tired in places and the room was unfortunately a bit cold and hadn't been cleaned to the standards expected.

A nice hotel in an ok location. About 50 minutes walk into the city, it is within an easy walk to the Britannia exhibition and tour. The staff were pleasant and we ate there both nights. Food was good in the restaurant but cold when we got room service. We had a third floor, two roomed suite overlooking the city, and were woken early each morning by work in the factory opposite. The windows did not have any soundproofing. In every other respect, the room was lovely.

Nicely located in a beautiful historic building. The ideal base for visits to the Edinburgh city centre or strolls to Leith harbour and Portobello. Very friendly staff, great rooms. Ideal for a romantic getaway with the missus or the mistress. But also excellent for business purposes. Fast and reliable free WiFi all over.

We stopped in for a drink after a local show. Staff very friendly and am enjoyable informal atmosphere. Far better than the usual hotel bar. I suspect the prices were not cheap, I was lucky enough not to have to pay the bill! Recommended, I would happily return.

Lovey Hotel and surrounding area. Good food although very disappointed at lack of options for vegetarians. No vegetarian main left on the menu by time we were eating and instead was offered a vege burger. Pretty poor offer or alternative, considering there was also a vegan menu but was not offered that. Generally good service considering restaurant and bar both busy.

Amazing hotel in Leith, we have stayed a few times and this has become our go to hotel for Edinburgh visits, we were really lucky as on our arrival we were offered the option to upgrade for a great price to the superb Port of Leith suite, the pictures don t to it justice! The staff are very friendly and the restaurant for breakfast & evening meal is a must.

I spent the weekend here with a bunch of family and friends for my wedding!
They went above and beyond to make sure the surprise my New Husband was organising went smoothly.
From the arrival to check out they were simply delightful and so attentive.
All the guests that came with us were really content too!
Location is absolutely stunning for a wedding look forward to coming back here in the future x

Nice place.

Nice place.

But booking confirmation page is all solid black in colour, with writing in white. Given that people tend to print these pages off, makes sense to have it just white, otherwise it is a waste of ink

Lovely hotel really enjoyed the location some great restaurants and brunch places nearby. Nice to have some peace and quiet outside the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh but only 10 mins in an Uber.

Really nice setting in a lovely part of Leith close to the Water of Leith. Food was good and staff friendly and helpful. Bus and taxi rank are very close providing a great base for exploring the city.

Good enough hotel and on the whole a good stay but pleased only for 1 night. Nice looking rooms with all facilities you would need, but lighting was an issue. Very dark even with the spots on. Room far too hot, but as we were next to a working garage we couldn't open the windows because of noise. Bar staff and restaurant staff excellent and attentive. Reception staff (same person) on the phone and seemed to be on a personal call the 3 times we visited the reception. Rather unprofessional. Would try somewhere else next time

Car park no where near hotel. 11 minutes walk away in a public car park which had a long queue to get into . Does not say that on the website.
Queued for 20 minutes to check in. Hotel lobby was packed with frustrated customers.
Bedroom had no Scottish breakfast tea bags.
En suite bathroom had no mirror.
Bought a special offer of free drink but the bar waiter did not understand how it worked. "I'll have to check that with my manager"

Reception staff very efficient & helpful, our check in was swift (must have taken max 5 mins) our restaurant dinner was great, comfy bed with usual Mal standard of room/cleanliness/facilities ...what was unusual tho - & take note - there's no built in aircon (it's a Listed building)..we stayed mid July, during the unusual warm weather period this year! & it was clammy, had we thought it through we should have requested a fan from reception but it was a one night stay so didnt think of it til later...
