Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort Review

Hotel is nice, beach is good when d tide is extremely low...

The pool and food are awesome! Beautiful location, will definitely go again! Great gym as well with everything working!

I must say during our four days stayed the staff was amazing, very friendly and accommodating. From the minute we arrived at the hotel we felt very welcome.
Breakfast & Dinner was excellent. My family had a blast! We will definately be there again.
Just one minor thing needs to be fixed is the Air Conditioning in the restaurant. Otherwise everything else was Great!

Beautiful place, very comfortable room. The hotel breakfast was a large buffet, with eggs made however you like them, except that they told us someone would come to our table with coffee, and no one ever came.

The staff is amazing the actual place needs a lot of work done to it. It could use a good coat of paint and a very good property upgrade. what helped was the staff being friendly. I would not reccomend a stat at this place.

Magdelena is a wonderful place with very friendly people . The staff ensures that your rooms are very clean and tidy. The skilful chefs creates delicious meals and the receptionists are very quick and fast in handling to get you a room. I surely can't wait to visit Tobago to stay at Magdelena Grand Resort.

Service was great. Wifi needs to be better and some updating of facilities. Great view. Loved the pool.

I really don't want to have to do this cause I'm Trinidadian but they have missed the mark too many times. Breakfast was ok, but as I returned to my room, my pillows were literally filled with ants. At breakfast cats were all on my table trying to get food. The AC was out, which they informed us and granted us 50% back, but the ceiling fans weren't working. I don't think their restaurant was all that clean the floors by the doors were dirty.

Magdalena Grand has and doing the best under the circumstances. The warm welcome and the splendid meals. And now we have a extra fixtures has it has a beach bay. It's wonderful. You won't go wrong to send a little extra it's worth every penny

Disappointing... the beach is/was unusable due to seaweed, the 'infinity pool' does not look over the edge of the beach as it shows in the advertising but looks over a very rocky cliff. There is no railing there either. Seating is limited, shade is very limited, service is slow especially for the a la cart dinners - 2 and a half hours for sub par food - and you have to pay to swim or even use the washroom at Pigeon point.
Did I mention there was a fake fingernail in our bathtub, the no hot water, and a pipe bursting above our bathroom? Ya.. fun times. Day two and had to spend two hours changing rooms.

First trip to Tobago and it was amazing. Kizzy at reception was a delight and made the late check-in easy and enjoyable. The resort was tranquil and relaxing and everything you need for a peaceful island getaway

This is a one star hotel masquerading as a five star. It is so remote you cannot walk to any other amenity. You are totally dependent on taxis or their transport. Although it may be low season, there is no regular entertainment and some of the restaurants are often closed.

It's sad to say, that this place is but a shadow of it's former self. I've been here for my honeymoon 4 years ago and it seems as though resort was not up kept since then. On entering the room to my suite, the door refused to be open. The porter himself was surprised and had to an exorbitant amount of energy to get it to function properly. Next, the sliding door to see enter the patio area was so difficult to open that I had to call for a maintenance person to come get it to work. You would think that he fixed the door right... Nope his reply to the problem was 'that is a result of the sea blast, and I would have to work it like that.' Really, the staff was friendly and willing but incompetent. The only saving grace of this resort is the scenery and the food. The food was absolutely amazing. This resort was 4.5 four years ago, now it's like a 2.5. Magdalena has the potential to become great again but they need to upkeep their rooms and building.

Hi good day .My husband and I celebrated 12 yrs of marriage on May 5th so we decided that Magdelena grand was our Anniversary ground.it was the best ever.love this place grate service,Miss Pamela ur the best ,I fell I'll n you took good care of me .I thank you very much.Lamaine ,Yolanda,Minerva u guys made our Anniversary nite very special. I really had fun I laughed my belly full.i felt so welcome n comfortable. the pool is excellent I'll b back soon .best place ever .

Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, only issue I had was with the restaurant staff. The hotel beds were quite comfortable but alot of broken items such as the safe as well as the makeup mirror in the bathroom but for the most part I enjoyed my stay.

The negatives outweigh the positive.
Rooms are dated and mouldy. While some staff are diligent overall hospitality needs improvement.

So after getting a surprise to spend a night at Magdalena Grand....I must say it was the best surprise ever. From the very pleasant and helpful employees to the cleanliness of the room and the breakfast being superb. WOW!!!! What else can u ask for. I will honestly say that it's value for money. And did i mention the Ocean View.....it was fantastic. Even the scenery when driving to get to the hotel was magnificent. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

The resort is ideally located mere minutes away from the airport. The location offers a great view of the ocean, and the main town of Scarborough. The rooms are fully air-conditioned with TV and phones. There are also verandahs to relax and take in the ocean view or a lovely sunset. It is perfect for a getaway from the hustle of everyday life.

The restaurant Kalina in the Magdelena Resort is a dining experience. Chef Sherrie is amazing. Every course was superb!

Extremely clean premises, good service and all covid protocol were observed.

First class staff. Tasty food.
The rooms need to be sprayed with some sort of airfresh for musty smell. Air-conditioning need fixing.
All in all we will be back.

My experience at Magdalena was well worth my money. My wife and two kids had the most wonderful time. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The food was superb and the room we stayed in was awesome. So those who post about their bad experience I would like to say I had a ball, And it was memorable.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The service was exceptional and everything you would need is available. Only problem was that the air conditioning was unserviceable for my stay but otherwise it was a great experience and I'd stay again.

Amazing facilities and services very satisfied and a pool bar as well as a volly ball net with included volly balls ( in the pool )

Relaxing. Great Colonial style. Prompt service..but the furniture must match the colonial.style...Some Queen.Ann style etc

I want to thank Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort for facilitating our wedding and our guests. Everything was PERFECT. Ms. Bell, Ms. Deokiesingh, Ms. Charles and the entire staff made our stay memorable. Ms. Deokiesingh made everything a wonderful vacation. She pays attention to detail with our room request, as well as our food allergies. I will recommend this resort as well as staying here again in the near future.

**For those who are not aware the seaweed has been washing up on the shore of island and is affecting all the Caribbean island (Bahamas, Barbados, as well as Cancun, Mexico.

Excellent beach front and view from. Every room. Breakfast is the best but buffet is to expensive and the dinners at the buffet are not tasty and to expensive. Beers and water are over priced.. Overall the other sports bar are not to expensive but again alcohol is over priced.. Visit if you have money but on a tight budget look for a resort that is not expensive.
The property needs maintenance to get bsvk to a five star..

This place is showing its age. The paints starting to look worn and the door handles are falling off. The service at check-in is abrupt and disjointed. The mosquitoes are out of control and the beach is "under construction" covered in trash. The pool closes at 6pm.

My time at the Magdalena Grand was absolutely wonderful. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island. The rooms are well kept, clean and comfortable! Only improvement that I would suggest is more interactive and friendly staff but other than such I had a great experience.
By the way, their omelettes during breakfast are to die for!
