Loved our visit here. The horseback riding, the picnic, and you must try their champagne cake! Delicious. Romantic setting, and the themed rooms make it more interesting. Will return again someday, although I did feel it was a little pricey, we did enjoy ourselves and have no complaints
My family had Thanksgiving dinner in the steakhouse, table was fine. Waitress was very helpful and attentive.
Terrific staff make an over the top California roadside icon all the better. You can't go wrong with lunch here, even if you end up eating in the bar (they serve the full coffee shop menu). Be sure to pop downstairs to the gift shop & get a signature themed water glass or two to remember your visit!

Wild rooms, great atmosphere. We attended a wedding here. There was an issue with our reserved room, so they upgraded us on a busy weekend. We had to change suites midway, so got a double taste of the kitsch. Full bedrock to pink princess. Pool is open pretty late, good food, we enjoyed our stay.

The Madonna Inn is an awesome place for a fun getaway weekend. The rooms are amazing/hilarious and the pool is perfect.
I loved that each room is themed differently, but it is a little expensive. The pool is nice and the horses and cows were fun to see. Overall good experience.

I want actually a guest in this hotel. But friends and I stopped by to use the restroom and have some drinks. The place is adorable. You feel as though you stepped out of a time machine when you walk into the hotel. It reminds me of something you'd find in a 70's B movie. I loved it. Love is the theme in the restaurant area and other parts of the hotel. The restaurant has cute murals and designs. I want to go back and stay in a room on my next visit.

This place is truly what dreams are made out of! Stayed in the "American Beauty" flavor and it was really charming. The restaurant is also super delicious, definitely recommend not getting the farfalle pasta...I mean you shouldn't order pasta at any steak house...the French filet mignon was so delicious my mouth is salivating just thinking about it. The salmon was also really nice, tender and perfect texture! The drinks were on point and highly recommend the cheese plate!
STOP! If you've never been to the Madonna Inn before, don't read anything about it and just go.
If you must read something about it: be prepared to time travel back to opulence and excess. This gorgeous building is reminiscent of European architecture and chateau decor. Not much has been updated or changed, and you wouldn't want it any other way!
I go dancing at the Madonna Inn every Monday and I love the atmosphere and staff. The drinks are a little pricey and the food is not the best but it is a magical place. The cake is also pretty dang good.

Really cute pit stop on our journey from Seattle to Santa Barbara. Friendly and attentive service. We got drip coffee and a slice of Black Forest cake with cherries. The cake was delicious- moist and flavorful. Gave us the energy we needed to complete our journey!

When driving to southern California, we always stop at Madonna Inn for lunch. Great bubblegum martini and Reuben sandwiches.
I had been to the Madonna Inn for drinks before, so I knew when we made arrangements to spend the night that we were in for extravagant seasonal decorations and unusual rooms. What I wasn't prepared for was the friendly and professional service we received from every employee we dealt with - at the hotel, in the restaurant, and even at the gift shop. The decor may be unusual, but the staff take their jobs seriously and take good care of guests. I would stay here again just because it's a good hotel, even apart from the unique rooms and that kind of thing.

Perfect for a night (or 3) away with your loved one. Each room is unique and fun. The food on site is perfect and staff is there to make your stay enjoyable. The grounds are wonderful to just walk around and you feel like you've escaped reality.

It's very pink, and very American-Bavarian. The food is decent and the staff are very friendly. I'd go back but it wouldn't be my first choice. It's just not quite my style.

A fun and unique place to stay. We enjoy staying here each year for our anniversary, experiencing different themed rooms each time. Would have been a five star stay, but there were cigarette smokers in nearby rooms. The smoke made its way into our room somehow, quite unpleasant. Restaurants were delicious as always. The staff was accommodating and pleasant as well.
This place is unreal. It is so over the top and fantastically delightful. It's romantic and quirky and so unique.
When we first got there we thought it looked like an adults only place but there were so many families! They are actually very welcoming to families. All the kids, girls and boys, were totally enamoured by every aspect of this place. The rooms were over the top fun and so wonderfully detailed - each one unique. The pool was a delight - its heated which is delicious if you swim in the crisp evening or morning. There are also 2 hot tubs and a spa. The spa was closed when we went for our night swim but it looked like you need to make an appointment. The robes are decadently plush..you just want to sleep in them. Honestly, one night here is not enough. We didnt even get to go to the restaurant. I'm sure they have a ton of activities to do both on premises and in the surrounding areas.
We had an issue with one of our rooms and management was so accommodating and very nice about it with no problem at all. Check in / out was pretty easy although it would be nice if, when checking in, the front desk were more welcoming and a bit more enthusiastic, but they were busy and were nice enough. When we checked out, the lady told my daughter to take a post card of her room, which I thought was very sweet of her.
Next time we are in California, we are definitely staying there again.
I went to the inn for my mother's birthday dinner and the food/dessert was fenominal. Server was very nice and patient with my very large family.
Room looked awsome had sweet rock shower. Only down side room had rock walls and bed had no headboard so had to take a lot of pillows to not hit head on rocks while sleeping.

The cake is phenomenal! Huge portions and perfect flavor, texture, and frosting/cake ratio. Also, the spa service were very professional, and a fair price for the service. Very relaxing and enjoyable.
We had a wonderful stay at the Madonna Inn. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. The whole place is corky and fun and there are plenty of amenities available. The only criticism I have is some of the rooms need to be updated. Some rooms don t have microwaves, refrigerators, or coffee makers. But overall a very positive experience!

Had a company holiday party here. Very professional, good food, and even had a photo booth for an overall fun time. Not sure if it's like this for all events but it was a very nice experience.

This is a main stay inland resort in San Luis Obispo. It's been there forever and continues to provide large, yummy, breakfast, lunch and dinners. Don't forget the outstanding bakery if you need a gourmet cake, pie, pastries. Right off the freeway on hwy101.

We stopped for dinner at the cafe and were disappointed. We ordered the tri tip sandwiches thinking Madonna, you know it will good. Unfortunately, the tri tip was the toughest meat I think I've ever eaten, with lots of gristle. Ick! The potatoes were runny instant and gravy from a can. (So the dog had a really good $15 dinner tonight)
decided to try some of their world famous German chocolate cake. I'm sorry I did. The cake itself is a dense chocolate, which normally is good, but they managed to dry that cake out so much it was dry, crumble tasteless. Add, some simpke syrup or something to moisten it up. The frosting tasted canned, it looked like coconut pecan frosting. But there was no butter, pecans or coconut flavor.
I hope they were just having a bad night, this used to be such a great place to eat.
