Great menu, but I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be. Their chunks of chicken in my Mac and cheese were just not tasty and very chewy. I'll need to go back and try another option. As a warning, stick with the smaller sizes because it is very heavy and there is barely any seating because of how crowded it is. You are better taking it to go.
Delish mac and cheese! The seating area is poorly maintained and the handle cover that came on my mac and cheese pan was filthy. They were also blasting two different music stations at the same time, drives me crazy! Michael Jackson just does not sound good playing over Reggatone.

They have great regular Mac and Cheese but the vegan Mac is my Favorite.

Overall this place was great! There were so many options and every one of them looked delicious. I got the Masala Mac and wow it lived up to my expectations and beyond. The only bad thing is that the cheese, or cheese sauce rather was pretty watery, but regardless I will be going back

Tasty Mac n cheese. They've got about 12 styles or you have the option to customize and build your own.
There's about 4-5 sizes starting from single serving (which could still be shared if you aren't that hungry) to large family size.
When you eat there, they serve it in a cast iron pan with toasted bread crumbs. They also have a take and bake option that's premade and cold for you to take home and cook in your own oven if you prefer.
Love this place! New location is bigger and a few feet away from old location. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. They service the regulars first, even if new customer orders first. And are friendlier to white customers than African Americans......

When you first open the boxes, the presentation itself makes your mouth water. Very delicious Mac and cheese. Tastes fresh and is made with love.

This is the place to go for your mac and cheese fix! The vegan mac n cheese is soo delicious and creamy! I will go out my way to get a serving when I'm craving. Only problem is that there isn't much seating and it gets busy often. Overall it's a great place to visit if you are close by. Also, the staff are nice and friendly and helpful, which is rare in the city
Did the sampler... Glad I tried it but the macaroni itself is just okay. Wouldn't pay for the sampler again. One variety had rosemary and that was quite tasty.

The dish is served in a hot skillet (similar to how fajitas are served), which helps with preserving the meltyness and gooeyness that is synonymous with a good mac & cheese. I haven't ordered it for takeout/delivery, but would imagine that it wouldn't be AS good, due to the lack of the skillet.
When you arrive at the restaurant, be prepared to place your order at one of the two available touchscreen kiosks. Once your order is complete, you can choose to pay with your credit/debit card (attached to kiosk), or select cash, and pay the clerk. (I did not see any options for contactless payments, unfortunately)
Also worth noting, if you're like me, then you LOVE peppers, but HATE onions. Well, "peppers & onions" are a package deal here. Your only options are both or neither .
Me and my bf came here for our first date, and we kept coming so many times that i noticed that that the food started tasting like peanut butter, probably because they changed the oils. But we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT THERE
Mac and cheese was delicious. I had the buffalo chicken and i couldn t stop eating. The place is clean, chill vibes. Nothing fancy but the food is amazing. It s mostly a self service restaurant so not much contact with the servers as it s also busy. I loved the place and would definitely recommend
I have never made a complaint about Sarita's. I have been here over 50 times over the years. I usually order the buffalo mac,with bread crumbs and blue cheese, but yesterday I ordered a Mongo, and 2 Major Munches the same way. Unfortunately i only got bread crumbs. No blue cheese or buffalo sauce. Upon realizing that I also noticed the noodles were changed from cavatappi to elbows. I am just disappointed today as i was yesterday it taste totally different. Maybe I need to go to the Macbar instead. I live in Brooklyn so iwas extra disappointed even my children said it did not taste the same. 50 dollars in mac and it did not, in any way taste as what I usually buy. I am very dissapointed. Please do better next time chef and fellow patrons check your mac.

Food was good. They offer many options. I prefer my macaroni softer but that's me. Just order ahead or be patient if you decide to place your order at the kiosk in the restaurant because there is a wait.

I have to say I was actually disappointed finally coming here after hearing about it for years. First off, they have these uncomfortable yellow stools and the lining is coming off every single one of them so it's not that comfortable sitting. Ordered a salad (which was $3.75 and just okay), a diet coke can (which was very overpriced at $1.75 and I still think it's outrageous to charge that for a small soda), and the la mancha (nosh-small size). I was very unimpressed with the la mancha, I expected it to be far more flavorful, it just tasted like very simple mac n cheese with essence of fennel, I didn't particularly like the cheese either or the $7.25 price for the teeny skillet. I don't see any reason to come back. It's overpriced and underwhelming.
I have tried many Mac-n-Cheese restaurants and always compare them to S mac. I have not found one better. You have so many choices to build different flavors and textures to you own liking. Their mac-n-cheese is also very creamy with bursts of flavor.

Sampler is a must for your first time. The Alpine is delicious! I wish they had a sampler option where you could choose which ones you wanted to try. The options were yummy and it s a good spot for casual meals.
This is no child's mac & cheese shop. If you want easily customizable, delicious, cooked in a cast-iron skillet mac & cheese, this is the place for you. A friend recommended it to me, and I go back every time I'm in the area.

We ordered a 50 person order and not only was Angel impressive with his menu suggestions (delicious! We had the alpine to stay while we waited, which was ) but he was accommodating too the gluten free and vegan members of our group! We loved every bite, thank you!!

Update: Place has lost its gusto since the last time I was here (2 yeas ago). The staff look like they don t even want to be here either. Our order took a while to arrive. Please move the napkin/ condiments cart away from the front of the door so it won t fall & you won t have to place them back for others to use those dirty napkins! .. Just take the macaroni to go!

Okay so this is a casual type of place. You order at the counter, pay, get a number, and sit down at one of the tables with the number so that you can get your meal brought to you. Now on to the food. I ordered a sampler with all or nearly all of their flavors (around 8) which cost around $17. You can definitely get full with that. Each flavor was unique and interesting: one had figs, another had some veggie/herb thing. Definitely go check this place out!
This is a street corner gem. I love Mac and cheese, like really love. The mac and cheese wasn't as I expected but it was still great. I got the all American Mac and added some chicken to it, my bf got the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese.
We ordered then sat down, at the table are condiments: salt and pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, & red pepper flakes. You get a number at the register after ordering and they then bring the food to you once it's ready. At the center of the food joint there is a table where you can pour yourself a cup of water so before u buy a water bottle, check it out. There are other bottled drinks as well.
The Mac and cheese come in different sizes, I reccommend getting the nosh size if you are not sharing. The other sizes are more shareable. There is even a sampler that comes with different types of Mac and cheese. I would definitely come back to get that in the future if I come with a larger group of people.
Back to the food, the all American wasn't as stringy as I hoped it would be. I guess the types of cheese it contained, didn't produce that. "Just the way you remember it as a kid! Nostalgia at its finest - a tasty blend of American & Cheddar cheeses." Definitely trying the 4 cheese Mac and cheese next time I go... Because I'm definitely coming back. The prices were pretty good, they do deliver. The place was packed but managed to get a seat and found street parking right across the street at 9pm.
Maybe it s just I m not crazy about Mac and cheese, I think the flavor was pretty average and they didn t impress me. The cajun one didn t have any cajun flavor in it, and the cheese could have been more aromatic.

S'mac is awesome and my and my boyfriend's favorite dish is the cajun. Perfectly cheesy with a bit of spices and meat mixed in. The only thing I have against them is that it's usually packed whenever we stop by at night. So, try going during the day or on weekends if you're not up for waiting around.
Best Mac and Cheese you will ever eat in your lifetime. Excellent Customer Service and friendly staff. When traveling to NYC always eat at this place and take out Mac and Cheese to go home to eat at home.

The Mac and cheese is always amazing, especially for the price! Some of the mix-in options are a little "bleh" but you won't even need to, most of the time. My two go-to's are Alpine and Cajun, and they have a bake-at-home option of your favorite flavors!

A place that only makes different types of mac and cheese? SIGN ME UP! Okay seriously, the food is pretty damn good. I'm a sucker for the hamburger mac and cheese, but the buffalo is good as well. Heck, all of them are good! The downside? It's cramped and usually packed in there so good luck trying to find a seat sometimes. Better off taking it to go and enjoying it somewhere else. Give it a shot, I don't think you'll regret it.

Mac & Cheese may be simple comfort food, but there's nothing simple about the menu at S'Mac. Offered in four sizes, S'Mac has a small menu of incredible mac & cheese variations (I'm very partial to the Cajun S'Mac). If nothing on their menu suits you, you can create your own. They have very limited seating, so unless you are willing to wait in a usually long line, either go during off hours or utilize their take-out store right next door!
