We asked for ajoining twin rooms but got 1twin& 1double. The young room service guy was brilliant very helpful but front desk were not at all nice. They offered to move our double to a twin upstairs. We declined. I phoned before we arrived to confirm 2 adjoining twin rooms & was assured yes that's all in order. My friend ended up sleeping on a couch. Room phone had no connection. So we trapsed back & fort to front desk. There was a big black hair in the bath & no handsoap. On departure as we handed in the room card/key we got a curt thanks. I personally was disappointed & annoyed because I was responsible for choosing the hotel & the booking. It was quite busy so maybe they couldn't cope!

This hotel really needs a lot of work done to it . Very dated . The bathroom had cracks in the ceiling and grout missing. It also smelled of mould or must . The bar was quiet nice though with a friendly manager .
Everywhere needs updating and replacing though

One of the worst experiences I've ever had staying...

One of the worst experiences I've ever had staying in a hotel, and I travel nationwide with my job. Hotel itself is dated and badly needs refurbishment, the service staff are lazy and disinterested. Ordered food in the bar and when it came out it was obviously a reheated lasagne that was tasteless, the chips were reheats too. The room was cold very low tog quilt on the bed, came down for breakfast and had to wait 3/4 minutes to get checked off the list despite there only being 3 other guests in the dining area, went and got some fruit and yogurt and waited for a server to take my order for a hot breakfast, didn't happen. Ate my fruit waited 15 mins and then left. Made my complaints at reception as I checked out and informed them that I had stayed in The Auburn Lodge in Ennis previously and would be doing so from now on.
Would definitely never go back and would not recommend this hotel, definitely not a 3 star never mind a 3.9.

Very outdated hotel. The sink in the bathroom has two faucets, one hot, one cold. The rooms do not have any AC, and are deadly hot during the day when the sun was coming in the windows. They did provide a little plug in fan, but it did not help with anything other than circulating the hot air. The staff was pleasant, housekeeping was great, food options "ok".

During our Ireland tour we stayed 2 nights at Treacy s West County Hotel in Ennis.

Our room was very spacious, clean, relatively modern and equipped with a large and a small bed and flat screen TV. The room is not air-conditioned and unfortunately has no refrigerator or ice machine in the hallway. The best place to enjoy your cold beer is in one of the city's small pubs. E.g. in Nora Culligans or Knox, approx. 1.5 km from the hotel.

There is direct access from the hotel to Boru s Bar with restaurant / bistro. We had a beer there on the first evening. It's ok, but you better go a few meters into the city.
The hotel has a swimming pool, gym. But we didn't use it.
There is free WiFi.

Breakfast is from the buffet with fruit salad, muesli, toast, wholemeal bread, jam, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, coffee, tea, juice, and water.

The staff is very friendly.

Shocked to see the lack of covid guidelines in pla...

Shocked to see the lack of covid guidelines in place. Both at breakfast this morning and at dinner I had to complain about lack of hand sanitiser. At breakfast the sanitiser bottle was broken. I immediately informed reception sanitiser was unavailable. On leaving 45mins later there was still no replacement.
On entering the bar for dinner, there is a hand sanitiser on checking in. However upon using the door handle to enter, a very obvious sanitising station had no sanitiser available. I informed the check in desk that this was unacceptable. She said there was some when you queued for checking in. However people were entering and leaving by the door and sanitiser is essential on the inside.
Breakfast service was dire. Waited 15 mins and had to ask for tea/coffee. The tea was in a one cup tiny pot. Then had to request toast. When I asked for jam I was told it was at the counter. Having seen that there wasn't, the waitress got me some. I asked for fruit salad to be told I'd to ask for same at the hot counter! The guy there then proceeded to ask a waitress to bring it to me!
There were no side plates on our table. Not a teaspoon in the cutlery set provided.
I did complain to reception immediately after breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but appear to be overwhelmed.
Overall, we are not happy with the level of service or sanitisation procedures in place at this hotel. We would not recommend this hotel, especially as hubby has an underlying health condition and we're very conscious of the procedures which should be in place on receipt of the covid charter. In these uncertain and anxious times, one needs less anxiety when on a short break.

Bathroom is dated. Showering is only possible in the bath, high entry or exit remains dangerous. Low shower head with fixed attachment. That is stooping to rinse out your shampoo. No light above the sink and toilet does not wash away the need after 5 x.

Unfortunately, rather the character of a hostel. Everything was very loud, restless, staff seemed stressed. Cozy food not possible, comparison as in a canteen. The food itself is good. Rooms are getting old. Okay for one night.

Lovely staff, great food, really good prices, overall a brilliant family holiday. Kids absolutely enjoyed Kids' Club, their first ever! Only thing letting it down is the dated look, but clean and very friendly!

My two friends and I booked a room through a third...

My two friends and I booked a room through a third-party booking site after a hotel we wanted closer to town was no longer available. While it was our second choice hotel, simply due to proximity to town, we had a pleasant stay. Our family room was upgraded to a room with bunk beds after I shared that bunk beds was our reason for staying (where else can adults sleep in bunk beds?) so we had five beds in total, which was amazing (and spacious). The hotel itself is really a conference center, with long hallways and tons of meeting rooms.

Our rooms were nice enough, basic furniture, much like conference rooms themselves. The bathtub was large and they provide you with body wash and hand soap via dispensers. WiFi is free without a log-in throughout the facility and they've made a lot of efforts to make their facility fully wheelchair-accessible.

As for proximity to the heart of town, you'll be able to walk there in about 15 minutes and a pub will call you a taxi back, which will cost you about 7 euro. Well worth saving a lot of money to stay a tiny bit farther away, though the hotel has a few dining options, too.

Just back from a 2 night stay here.
Hotel was great, has a modern spacious bar with friendly and efficient staff.. 2 pints for 10e! Great value. Leisure Centre is an added bonus. We had lovely spacious room, with power shower. Hotel was very quiet at night couldn't hear a sound from other guest rooms. Particularly liked the security check at the hotel entrance door after hours.
Hotel is just a 15 min walk to town centre. Will definitely be back to stay again. A little piece of heaven in Co Clare.

Amazing welcome by front staff, rooms very dated and needs a revamp! Bar food great and kids can stay in bar until 10pm. Breakfast was only fair, dirty hot buffet section and really dried up, and this was at 8.30am!! Kids can't use the pool until 9am which was a pity because we have really early risers and would have liked a swim earlier. I think that this is an insurance issue though.

Old enough hotel but has all the facilities, free WiFi, free car parking, leisure centre, around 8-10 minute walk to town centre. Only shops nearby are a couple of petrol stations.

Rooms good, if slightly old. Bar is large, food there is tasty and good value too

*AVOID IF AT All POSSIBLE*

*AVOID IF AT All POSSIBLE*
Where do I start? *Extremly basic*
Booked 2 rooms for one night after our plans changed staying elsewhere, and after staying the night and experiencing the "hotel" it was WAY overpriced, and the 3 star rating is way over par for what you will pay for here. Had I not already paid on arrival, I would have refused point blank to pay to stay here. I had just come from a cheaper B&B the night before and was of a much higher standard than Treacys in every way. On arrival (1pm) we asked could we check in early and were advised our rooms were not ready yet(which was fine), so we asked could we leave our bags at reception so we could head up to the town for a spot of shopping. We were told they would then have to be left in their tea room area which was "secure due to their camera system". Before we took a walk up to the town we booked into their leisure centre for swimming on return. After a 2 hour tip up to the town, we got back to reception where they had allocated the 2 rooms the wrong way around, and under the incorrect names.

We collected our keys, took our bags from the tea room without question by anyone, and made our way to the room.

On entry to the room it was obvious that it had not been sufficiently cleaned after the previous guests, and the aptly named "Seal Of Approval" on the door had been broken and placed on the frame of the door prior to our entry. The room stank of smoke, the windows were left open (as they don't have air conditioning) and the interior was disgusting. Snot on the shower curtain, dead insects left in the sink and window, and the finishings were either damaged or broken. Straight back to reception, where they offered me the option of a different room, which to be fair wasn't much better.

Our dinner plans changed which we had booked in the town, which meant that the only option was to go down to the residents bar for food. We were advised to use the "table pay" app which was provided, and to say this was a farce was an understatement. An extra charge of 4 to order yourself, only for it to come out of the kitchen / bar wrong or not at all. Garlic bread not cooked, pasta overcooked. We found ourselves just asking the wait staff to order after we made our initial order. Not to mention the poor quality deep fried food or free cordial from the bar for the children -vs- the 1 charge for each drink on their app. The service staff were friendly and understanding of the issues, and seemed to be unbothered by the negative feedback which they were well aware of.
The bar area was full to the brim with locals in for the football, and not a single sight of food in front of them or contact details being taken. I was asked on arrival if I had a room, but that was about it.

As for the sleeping arrangements - Beds are old, sheets curtains were dated, and the pillows were atrocious.

Breakfast the next morning was par for the course as we queued for in the main breakfast area, and were then told to go to another breakfast room due to the number of people in the room. The manager (with no mask or face shield) welcomed us on arrival and seated us, only to be served warm bread, cold coffee, and not a single condiment on the table. At one point I actually walked to the back of the service area to ask for milk for the children's cereal.

I then watched on as guests arrived and there was nobody there to meet them, so the "chef" left her station behind the cooked food station to check people in, and then pick up the pens and book only to return to her service station and continue serving food. I could mention a lot of other points on here, such as no lifeguard in the pool area, filthy reception area, kids running up and down the halls at 1am, or the shouting in the carpark after the bar closed, but feel this is just a fair reflection of how our stay in Treacys went.
I was not impressed in the slightest with the standard of the rooms, the service, or the quality of the food and beverages we consumed here. Our stay here has somewhat put a dampener on what was a great week in Co. Clare.
