The wife and I were in Las Vegas and went to the Luxor for the first time. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. It is definitely showing it's age but they are keeping up with it and it was clean. We only went to the casino and did not see any of the rooms and so cannot comment on those.

The parking garage was just a short walk to the casino entrance and when you enter the building there is a nice relief to see. We did notice a peculiar smell by the escalators between Luxor and Mandalay Bay.

It seems that this particular casino could do well with families as it is between Excalibur and Mandalay Bay, both of which have some family activities. Over all impressions were good but it is not the kind of resort that we enjoy.

I love you Luxor!!! Life saver. Flight delayed 10 minutes into my Lyft ride.. yeah same thing I said. Once I made it to the airport, thank you spirit airlines, I find out my flight is delayed not one hour, that would be to easy, but 8 hours! Wait, what? Then 9, then 10. For maintenance, and they want us to get on that flight, I know right! So, Luxor in a clutch, let us come back to do a late check out! Thank you so much Luxor! You deserve all the stars plus more. Some people may have known that they could possibly go back to their hotel, but not me. Thanks

I really enjoyed myself at the Luxor. At first I was a bit nervous from reading the reviews, but it turned out okay after all. We stayed in the pyramid room for 3 nights. It was clean , housekeeping came each day. There are not any appliances like fridge or microwave, but all of the restaurants downstairs and in the connected hotels we were good.

Very dated hotel, needs a Reno, room was tired and everything very warm. The pool area was a nice surprise, lots of room, clean and great spot to relax. Ok for work or convention, not my choice for romance.

Friendly helpful staff but in the elevators, limited numbers were not enforced the first 2 days thus social distancing was not maintained.
This was very uncomfortable and caused us some anxiety.
The Room was clean and masks and sanitizers provided everywhere.

My first trip to Vegas! The Luxor is at the beginning of the 4 mile Strip, next to Mandalay Bay, which is where you can buy a 24 hour Deuce Bus Pass for only $8. A little further south is the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign. I requested a room with soaking tub and a view of the strip, but it was missing a wet bar. 24/7 options although concierge closes early. $35 resort fee plus $50 refundable deposit. Pricey as any other tourist destination. Wonderful decor! Check out my room tour on my IGTV.

Luxor is always a nice hotel experience if you're looking for less kids and more fun adult things to do. What a my favorite things they got there is the hyperx esports arena. Their buffet is always really good no matter what time you go in there. just staying in the pyramid is interested when you find out that the elevators go up to the side and some of the rooms are floating over everything p just staying in the pyramid is interested when you find out that the elevators go up to the side and some of the rooms are floating over everything. all in all this is a great place to go if you're a gamer or if you just want to have a great time in Vegas and still be close to all the other MGM casinos. I've been here four times in the last year and I loved every single time

Since I reviewed the hotel it turned out that my friend who stayed with me here got Scabies from the hotel bed!!!!! Appalling beyond words.

Dated decor & fixtures and rooms have no ventillation. Comfortable beds but very noisy overall as rooms are not soundproof and as all the rooms open to the lobby (as it is literally a pyramid ) the casino and bars are open 24/7 there. The amenities are not great, shops and restaurants in the hotel are low end. Good if you are in Vegas on a budget but avoid for business trips.

We stayed in a nice room, with an excellent view of the strip. The hotel staff we met were each friendly and helpful. The casino is laid out well and has easy access to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. We plan to make a return visit.

Our stay was OK but housekeeping was HORRIBLE!! Out of six days, they only came twice, and on one day, with the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, they not only knocked but actually came in the room. We had 6 bags of garbage in our room and had to call for clean towels; one should not have to do that at a 4-star hotel. Also the most cursed hotel in Vegas so beware! (we had a lot of bad things happen to us on our trip, including a broken collarbone and two tickets)

Very comfortable beds, fair price. Buffet is good. Stayed in pyramid room - good other than very noisy bathroom fan. Location is at the end of the strip so a lot of walking to see shows but that was fine with us. Will stay again.

We went to the Titanic Exhibit and the Bodies Exhibit at the Luxor. They were both very interesting and I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed the Titanic one. They were a bit expensive at $35 per person each, but if you buy both exhibits at once it is only $45 per person and makes it much more worth it! You can buy the tickets on the same day, but come back to do one of the exhibits another day if you prefer. The 4 stars is for the fact that you will end up paying $8+ self parking fee and the food at the food court was pricey. We wanted a treat from Johnny Rockets afterwards and one shake was almost $8!!

The Luxor is one of my favorite hotels in Vegas. The prices are great (but stay in the towers) Their pool is HUGE and they seem to always have something fun going on in the summer months.

The tower suites are pretty nice. I've been fortunate enough to stay in their penthouse a few times. I like that the casino is very easy to get around. The staff is very friendly and it's really not that far off the main part of the strip.

They don't have 24/7 room service but they do have a cafe open at all hours right off the casino floor.

The hotel was nice and close to the airport. It's located on the South strip.
On arrival I had to pay extra, called resort fees. My holiday was booked and fully paid with a travel agent. We had to pay $40 extra per night. These are illegal practices.
Google 'killresortfees' and find the web page, written by a lawyer, with an explanation why resort fees are illegal.
Complain at check in that it is illegal, contact your credit card company to reclaim the resort fees.
I would have rated the hotel higher if it wasn't for the resort fees

This could be a great hotel. Rooms are pretty old and need an overhaul. Wallpaper coming off the walls. Gives the rooms a creepy vibe. Lots of cool stuff to do. Pool is pretty nice. The biggest drawback is that after a certain time there is no room service!!! A las vegas hotel with NO NIGHT TIME ROOM SERVICE????? That's whacked!! Will not stay again.

The hotel is very run down, and used up. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, and when I asked for a new room, on my second day in the hotel, I was immediately given another.
The elevators, or inclinators, as the are called, go on a diagonal path, which is cool, but they were so loud, squeaky and rough, that they felt really unsafe. This was mentioned by every single rider I was with, every time I was in one. They are also just trashed inside. Really everything in the hotel shows serious signs of wear.
My first room is the top of the list that shaped my experience in the luxor.
I had an offer for 4 days complimentary, and I chose a "corner king suite with jacuzzi tub."
I was given room 13001 which looked as if it hadn't been used in weeks. There was a fine layer of dust atop EVERYTHING, and the room smelled really strongly of standing water and bleach.
I turned on the air conditioner, and it only blew hot air.
The 2nd one in the other room didn't turn on at all.
The bathroom fan didn't work at all to suck any air out of the room, and the bathroom was dingy and dark, as it one of the lightbulbs worked.
Then there was the soaker tub.
The drain was stuck closed, which I didn't realize until I filled it. It wasnt a jacuzzi as advertised, which is fine, because of sanitary reasons.
The floor surrounding the tub was sopping wet, though to the carpet, and had a putrid moldy/ chlorine smell.
I was in later and went to dinner, as I was starving, and had some of the food at the food court. 2 star food there, but it's a food court, so not too surprising, I called the front desk to ask for a new room, and alert them to some of the problems, but it was late and they just sent up maintenance to drain the tub.
I had a few drinks and played for a few hours, then went to bed. When I woke, the smell was unbearable and I went to the front desk to ask for a new room, with a list of problems from the current one. I was immediately transferred to a much better room and told maintenance and housekeeping would address my former room.
My next room was run down, but a huge improvement over the last.
The buffet at the luxor was pretty poor. There was very little selection, and much of it was subpar. As I was poking at the food being unimpressed, I overheard several different tables say the same, and one group even complain to the server, who then comped the cost, for that table.
I tried both breakfast and dinner.
Both were not good. Eggs undercooked and watery, one kind of potato, and 2 kinds of breakfast meat. That's it. No pancake or waffle bar like other places. The pancakes were a rubbery pile, hard to peel apart. Fruit was my main breakfast staple. Certainly not worth the 25 bucks for the buffet.
I did not try again.
I enjoyed room service, aside from the 2 hours wait. I ordered fruit and pastries. Not 2 hours worth of waiting food, but the fruit and pastry trays came with lids and i was able to munch on them for a couple of days, myself. Those two items were the best food I had there.
Probably my least favorite Las vegas experience.
Slot floor was kind of small and 20% of machines were down, or card readers broken. I play my buns off when visiting vegas. I want those points!
Some of the warning signs posted around the luxor made me giggle, someone had to commit those sins at least once to make it a crime.

The room was excellent! The hotel is amazing and breathtaking! The service in the room - missing. No coffee pot or microwave, no room service, no fridge, water saver shower head, and everywhere you went, including the pool area, you are forced to where a mask, even when distant from everyone. No thanks, I wont be back to the Luxor anytime soon, for any price,

The staff was nice and helpful everywhere we went. The pool was nice and clean it wasn't overcrowded. Our room wasn't bad but it was a bit of a hike to our room. We had one incident but a Manager handled our situation efficiency and appropriately once it was brought to his attention. This was my 3rd time staying at this hotel.

The hotel is clean, but the rooms are very very dated! The furniture needs a major update, lights in the bathroom are way too dim and the actual showers need to be replaced! The rooms are way too hot, and unfortunately there's not much you can do about it. I wouldn't stay there again.

Recently renovated, the rooms inside the towers at the Luxor received a much-needed facelift. The rooms are a decent size, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms have both a tub and shower. The pool is a nice place to lounge outside and there are a multitude of restaurants and bars to choose from. Conveniently located, the Luxor is a sold choice for a reasonably priced hotel on the strip.

The room rates are always fair even when cross referencing against discount room apps/websites. The front desk is generally informative and offer their MLife card discounts on the rooms. The hotel rooms are decent and clean for the price you are paying. If you just need a weekend getaway with a cheap room, this is the place to be. The casino is pretty large and sits with access to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. Overall, a great view inside with a clear smokeless environment. This is always my go-to for a quick spot in Vegas.

New renovates rooms are good ... not too happy with the pillow quality... desk people, valet parking, mlife, and housekeepers are very professional ... not impressed with Tender steak house .. didn't give 5 start because Tender, and the long waiting lines for check in and check out... and many people in the casino area barefoot which is a safety issue and/or without tshirt.. prices for rooms are very good ... .

I haven t stayed here but visited couple of times as it has direct link from Excalibur. This hotel is Egypt themed and the hotel structure is exorbitant. This is perfect place for photography but casino is lil downside here. Not sure how hotel rooms will be as I not visited them, this is on the strip and near to MandalinBay, Excalibur, MGM grand and Newyork Newyork hotel n casinos.

My wife & i stayed here for our anniversary recently. We've stayed here before & it's great for what it is - a hotel on the strip. It's definitely beautiful & pretty fairly priced, but I feel some of the other hotels really represent their theme more in their design/architecture. We still love Luxor, though, the Egyptian theme is one our favorites. It is pretty far from most places & attractions on the strip, though, so that's one downfall. We just take cabs everywhere lol. Their buffet is really good, granted it was our first buffet in Vegas so nothing to compare it to, but it was delicious - they did comp if for our anniversary which was very nice too. We really want to stay at a different place next time, but it won't be the last time we'll stay at Luxor too.

I felt as if I was staying in a high in motel, this was my first experience at the Luxor Hotel & Casino and last. There were no bottle water in the room, and know coffee maker, the bathroom needs a make over, condition and shampoo is a must. The door needs a deadbolt the maid knock two time and walk in, I felt my privacy was violated. At least the room was clean. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone especially if they are handicap and on medication.

Updated carpet and in room "decor" but unless you're in the towers it was not a "luxurious" experience. Also had no hot water and was told to shower at the spa (about a 10-15 minute walk) from our room. When I arrived the spa was not aware that I was coming and I heard men in the women's locker area as I was showering.

My husband and I visited the Luxor for the first time in 2001. We enjoyed the the Egyptian decor during our recent visit this past December as much as we did almost 20 years ago. We didn't like the casino area because there's entirely to much smoke (as the majority of the casinos in Vegas are). What we're disappointed about was the outside covering of the pyramid. 20 years ago, the outside was of glass, it was black and shiny. Now it has a covering advertising the new sports team coming into Vegas. It makes the outdoor appearance look more gawdy.

I stayed in one of the two bedroom penthouse suites while I was there. It was coolest room I've ever stayed. The suite itself is massive with plenty of space to hang out and party. The pool table is a nice touch for when you are just lounging around. The two bedrooms are gigantic and have stunning views. The bathrooms are also spacious and clean. The staff is attentive and friendly. The casino floor is big with many affordable games and slot machines. There are plenty of places to grab something to eat or hang out for a drink. You can also hop back and forth to the Excalibur or Mandalay Bay hotels by walking or taking a monorail. Overall my experience here was a fun and positive one. I would most definitely stay here again.

Can't deny the value you get price wise by staying here so if you looking for good accommodations on the strip for a deal then it might be for you. The pyramid suites and rooms are ok, many need work and the elevators are an experience all their own lol, stay here you will know what I mean. My advise to stay at the luxor, spend a little more and book your room in the tower not the pyramid.

I can't speak to the experience of staying here, because I only lassed through with my family. We popped in to enjoy the look and feel of ancient Egypt - and while the facade and lobby were splendid - the interior movie screens and electronic ads were almost excluively about strip shows, or showing very sexy music videos. Totally fine if that's your thing, we just weren't quite prepared for it! Probably also the most smoke-filled and dated looking interior of the hotels we perused.

The hotel looks great in the pictures and from the outside, but is a bit outdated and one can see that even with the newly updated rooms. It is also located at the far end if the strip, which means you will need to do a lot of walking to see other places, and that distance is not for everyone. I rarely had hot water in my room during rush hours (morning, noon, evening) because the hotel was constantly full and the water pressure in my room definitely needed some work. I waited 17 minutes on the phone to report the no hot water issue and to find out if breakfast was included. However my call was never answered. I booked a premium king bed, but I received a kind of queenish sized bed instead (see my medicine on the bed for comparison). The carpet needed cleaning and the beautiful tiles were unfortunately stained and sticky at places and it was not a good feeling. The guests next room were smoking in their room all night and were very loud but the hotel security were very fast and efficient in responding. The sound insulation between the hotel rooms definitely need some work. I think there is room for improvement and that kind of huge investment definitely needs some more TLC to remain competitive. I'd probably implement ancient Egyptian costumes too and have some relevant shows since the infrastructure is already there.

First, our mobile check-in did not work when we arrived. Never received an email or anything other than the confirmation that we would... Since we arrived at 11PM I was looking forward to getting out. However, we waited until 12am and decided to wait in line to check in... Sub-par service, informed us that no upgrades had been available (willing to pay) and that they were sold out; that's why mobile check-in failed to function.
Next, our room. Black mold on the shower walls and a tub that doesn't drain when you shower. Missing picture (you could see the filth outline), another hung crooked, and peeling wallpaper. Exposed ground wire in lighting fixture. Broken and extremely worn furniture. No ac/heat controls, deal with the temp. We paid for 3pm checkout only to have our maid start knocking on our door at 9AM. I told her that we checked out at 3pm, however she came back an additional two times, on the 3rd letting herself in! Only positive is the uniqueness of the venue itself and proximity to OTHER places. Beware if you plan to sleep here.

A fun and iconic hotel in Vegas. Truth to be told, Luxor is aging though. We all have to admit one thing: you cannot miss the pyramid and Vegas wouldn t be the same without this place. The Luxor is great value for the money. We came to Vegas for my son's 21st and stayed here despite having heard of it's bad rap in the past. They have remodeled many of the rooms recently, so be sure to ask for one in the towers that has been remodeled. The casino here is smallish, and the drinks take a while to get when playing at the tables. For those reasons we gambled elsewhere (the Excalibur and Madalay Bay can be reached directly through connecting malls).

The rooms were comfortable and new, the price was right, and the staff were friendly. Despite being a smaller casino with an older feel, given the price the Luxor is a value bargain.

As much as we ve tried to make it work with family. It s definitely not the same with kids. Alarms going off, an elevator that skipped a floor and almost came crashing down, rooms that had bad odor (like sewer), all experienced over four different days during the pandemic with family and kids. Definitely for singles! As a college student, these are all things I would have over looked, too many other distractions that were good enough. But as a father of two girls, the stays were disappointing.

Decent hotel, the navigation around the hotel can be slightly confusing at first, but one gets used to it. The Pyramid Cafe is a great place for breakfast. Also, the food court on the mezzanine gets chilly since the air conditioning blows directly on you. On check-in they recommend staying in the towers since they are renovated and the Pyramid rooms are outdated and old.

The room we stayed in was great (tower room) but a little out of the way. There were a fair number of timeshare and product pushers every time we went to the main floor which was more than a little annoying but pretty commonplace for Vegas. Several places were closed or had amended hours due to Covid, so be aware of you plan a trip any time soon. Slots were hit or miss and the drinks while gambling were on the weak side compared to others we visited. Decent "home base" on this side of the strip bit you may want to stay elsewhere if you're looking to be close to everything.
