Awful- debt paid in full. Yet they have marked my credit score and it has gone from excellent to poor! not impressed at all

I just received a letter as well telling me i owe them 400 pounds...they can f off...if they are man enough they can come to my door and say hello to my little friend...

Lowell is great , a safe place for the debts , and there system works well for paying any amount towards the debts perfectly ,

Terrible customer service they are not trained properly, asking for details they do not need to pass security and asking alot of unecessary questions. I finally managed to pay after 20 minutes of talking. Automated service also does not work.

I've dealt with Lowell on 2 Occasions. The 1st time they were absolutely Superb... I had buried my head in the sand for a long time, but they genuinely helped me.... I dealt with them again today, and they were really helpful. Although I'm not in a position to pay the debt, they tried to understand my situation. Can't fault them. So far!!!

I found the man I spoke to was extremely understanding of my difficulties since becoming redundant twice in 3 yrs! I am unemployable due to spinal injuries so cannot work. Unfortunately I am of the age group who has been left to wait until I am 66 to draw my pension which has left me in severe financial difficulties. I feel confident in Lowell managing my loan debt & I am relieved to be dealing with such excellent company. So much so I would be grateful if they took over my credit card debt which is a lot less & I am being constantly stressed about! Thank you Lowell!

Never call back after trying to find records. Surely it must be on their system if they're sending letters?? Very strange!!

I think they are the best debt company too deal with, I have dealt with a few and lowell are the most understanding and accept a minimum payment

Ignore them. they have no power unless you give them it.

Sensitive to your situation, paying was easy, I could change the amount I paid month to month. The debt was a made up Vodafone debt but I still had to pay it. I paid the minimum at the beginning and near the end, I paid the rest in full. In all the two years I dealt with them, I heard off them three times. They really don't harass you or bother you as long as you are paying a bit each month.

Poor Company! Even at the bottom of their website it says 'Modern Slavery' this is exactly what this company is. Preying on the vulnerable

Thought something was fishy about these texts I've been getting, but after reading all these reviews it's just confirmed that they must be fraudsters.
Barely spend my full monthly salary never mind getting myself into some kind of debt. I hope someone shuts them down.

Make numbers up in there head and use scare tactics don't be scared as long as you don't open a door to them there's nothing they can do and if there on your property it's trespassing

Who are these idiots? My name is not BE and I do not owe anyone a penny. I have lived in my own self built house for 25 years, fully paid up 15 years ago. No one else has ever lived there. They are harassing me with constant texts and phone calls. All unanswered of course. I will report them as soon as I find out how. Zero points given.

Absolutely disgraceful scare tactics with fraud. Like others have commented, even the feedback here where people have given them 5 stars smells of fakery. They keep sending me letters for a non-existent debt. I've now been on to Action Fraud to raise awareness of these scumbags and I've also received a crime reference number too. Hopefully that will be the end of it.

Incredibly poor company. Never heard of them before they contacted me out of the blue. They refused to tell me who they are, what they do and why they have my data. I asked what data of mine they have and what they use it for, which is my right under GDPR. They refused. They also said they don't know their policy of what they do with your data. I am fed up of my data being scraped and sold on to what is my opinion is scam companies. In my view this is a scam company that provide you with no helpful information and if they contact you I wouldn't touch them with a barge poll.

hope this helps someone I had financial problems got a few letters and put them in a drawer then I grabbed the bull by the horns and phoned them it was the best thing I did they were very understanding and I worked a plan that suited me i know its Difficult but these guys are very professional and understanding hope this helps

Although people get stressed and panicked about having debt and then you start getting letters from debt collectors (such as Lowell) and panic even more. Rest assured that my dealings with this company were a very pleasant surprise. The operator I spoke with was friendly, helpful, understanding of my situation and gave me an option that suited me.

They will try to scare too soft people to give them their hard earned money for no reason AT ALL.
They never sold anything to you, so WHY they are asking you to give them money.

Emailed me a demand that was in someones else's name and address how they got my details I'm not sure but not a trustworthy company

Keep getting texts and calls from this company which are clearly meant for the person who had this mobile number before me. Have contacted them about this but am still getting contact sometimes daily.

This company do listen and are non aggressive like a lot of companies. Try talking to them because they Will help you.

I think the staff are only trained to just "get that money." That's the only thing they seemed to know how to do. Constant messages and phone calls bombarding me for money every day. Arrogance when I do answer the phone by youngsters who like I said have only been trained to get that money. They didn't know much about their own company or how to help. Could not answer questions it was unbelievable. No wonder people think this place is a scam. I didn't experience any professionalism and you could even tell the smirks on there faces and the fakeness in their voice. If anything has ever taught me not to get into any small debts again it will be because I would never wish to have to possibly deal with Lowell.

Lowell are so easy to deal with, they allow you to set up a repayment plan that suits you and it can all be done online without any annoying phone calls.

I used Lowell online service today to set up a new payment plan. Can I say that i'm not great with I.T. But, Its was very easy to use and it didn't take a lot of time. I can now also log on and see how i'm doing.There's also a service for if you are having troubles making the monthly agreed payment. Great if you don't having the time for a long call or just rather make changes with out talking to people.

Excellent customer service. You are given feedback of your progress without many calls. Account is closed and an email is sent although i think a follow up phone call would also be beneficial for people who get busy and caught up with other stuff. However i was satisfied overall.

I am receiving texts to remind payment. The thing is they are to another person not me! Obviously they have the wrong number. I phoned and they cannot stop them without my providing my address and account number! I have no account and would not trust this firm with my data.

Paying off an old debt from 2006 back when i was a irresponsible teenager, the company is okay they are taking the repayments out my account as agreed, on time and never missed a payment. They are also updating my credit report everytime i make a payment which as helped repair my credit. However when i call up every few months to check my balance they annoy the hell out of me by asking for a income/expense discussion and asking me to make sure my contact details are still the same... if anything changed i would call and tell them. Other than that a good company, helpful and polite staff.

I rang to dispute an outstanding Vodafone bill that Vodafone had told me three times they had cancelled. Needless to say Vodafone had not, in fact they passed it on to a excellent debt collection company who have now resolved my problem. Top marks to Lowell Financial Ltd and their very good call handler

I had some irritating old debts which I could not work out how to deal with. Found out these now belonged to Lowell. From the day I got in touch with them they were helpful and made everything clear and have helped me sensibly pay off old debts which were causing havoc with my credit rating. I would recommend dealing with Lowell as they are very helpful and their staff are very thorough in helping you deal with your finances. If it were possible to give 10 stars I would.

Lowell provided me with a callback as requested from Caroline, she could not have been more helpful and was empathetic and understanding of my circumstances. Caroline was professional polite and showed a genuine desire to come to an arrangement that was realistic and satisfied both parties, a real credit to the company.

I handled them via stepchange so had a bit of a go between but when I did have to speak to them they were not the bullies most people think these services are and are nice people!! Think the key thing is be honest about everything

Wish I had never payed them a penny! Convinced they are a scam! Harassed me, calling me 20 times a day. I would block numbers but they would call from different phone numbers. Send me letters daily. When I did pay off all my debt they still took money from my account! Awful company!

To be fair Lowell s are not bad actually there quite patient when it comes to your debt, plus I ve never been spoken to aggressively by customer services.

Lowell staff were my cloud with a silver lining. I was in debt when they contacted myself. They were so friendly and understanding of my circumstances. My advisor worked out my income and my outgoings and we arranged an amount I could afford to pay back each month set up a direct debit and that was it. I didn t have to worry any more and today I made my final payment and I am now debt free. If your in financial distress give them a call they are so helpful

Seriously, where do i start. They have NO CLUE what they are doing, they passed a case to BW Legal (also based in Leeds) who threatened court action on a Statute Barred case. it took me to tell them that, god knows how far they would have taken this. all they do it buy bad debt and send begging letters

An awful company, i hope it goes under and all the people that work there fall behind on payments and lose their houses

Remember, if a debt has not been paid for 6 years or more, changes are its statue barred and crettins like this cant take it to court...all they can do is ASK you pay the money

Great company to deal with, super flexible and helpful. They are the complete opposite to other debt companies so I genuinely cant believe some of the 1 star ratings. You literally can do everything online with Lowell so if they have your account, call them back or jump online and get yourself sorted.

Lowells are THE BEST company to deal with if you have debts. They WILL, work with you, to find an agreeable solution to your'e debt. I have had at least 3 debts already paid off with them and am currently paying off 1 more on an agreeably payment plan. This company has ALWAYS been very friendly, helpful and willing to negotiate, so that a person can become debt free. 100% RECOMMEND. Absolute Fake company and this as come straight from the courts since when do solicitors chase debts? they don't they do all there dealings in courts and by all accounts they call you fro Leeds but there offices are in Northampton. so all the people who are say they was lovely to work with that is because they was scamming you out of cash.

Lowell Portfolio is the debt collection Lowell solicitors is the intimidation squad. Solicitors don't ask for money they deal with things in court. We have a court date but still send us letters asking for the money.

If they was confident they would win in court wouldn't a solicitors just see you in court after the court date has been issued?

Most of these comments are absolutely idiotic , I have had dealings with Lowell as had my sister . I had an old capital one account I had 6 years ago and before you all jump up it wasn't statute I knew I had to get it resolved so phone in my hand I was expecting some stiff unsympathetic phone monkey but to my surprise I spoke a lovely lady called Katie she advised me the best way to get it cleared the amount had stayed the same so they hadn't put any interest on it . I also enquired how they were allowed to just buy old debt so for all you morons saying thank you for buying my debt they legally are allowed to do this it's called freeman of the land and even if they have bought it for pennies I still owed the full amount doesn't take away my stupidity. The biggest surprised to me my sister has just been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and all Lowell wanted was proof and they've wiped the whole thing off if you are truly vulnerable and not just trying to get out it they will help you if you've just found yourself a letter from Lowell don't listen to the idiots pick up the phone they will help you .

Most friendly and helpful staff.i rang about a debt years ago and they took how much money was goin out and and told me if i needed to take payment down to ring them right away and they sort it.they ring from time to time make sure all ok way money.

Terrible, put defaults on your credit file without any proper paperwork, challenge everything they do, most of the time they don't even hold real evidence of the debt, they buy it for the fraction of the price then try and scare you, LEEDS LOSERS

A fraudulent mobile account was set up in my name and managed to set up a direct debit on my bank account. Three Mobile refused to discuss because I couldn't provide a password. I agreed to pay a small outstanding amount and cancelled the DD to close the matter Three Mobile later passed a further demand to Lowell & Co. I got straight through to them, they listened, established the facts and advised no further action to be taken, matter closed. Many thanks to Lowell & Co. for listening. Excellent service. TS

Of all the debt collecting companies I've had dealings with over the years (Sadly many) Lowell are probably the best. Certainly the easiest to deal with. They actually are willing to help, to negotiate something that's right for you. A lot of companies send you a warning letter "Pay up by next month or see you in court". Lowell have been patient and I can't really ask for more than that. My debt, my responsibility to get it all sorted.

Explained it was a Carphone Warehouse error , told whole story , then they still refused to believe me and sent threatening debt letters and how it will affect my credit rating and how he quite simply didn't believe one word I said as he continued to ask well why didn't u stop 02 account , when I'd told him that CPW sent a phone in error twhich unbeknown to me triggered off an 02 account .. What was I supposed to do phone Vodaphone, T-Mobile ,Tesco mobile etc etc and ask excuse me have you set up an account by any chance as a phone has arrived at my house ffs ,,

Made my debt that was worrying me so much better to handle , understanding customer service that really helped me

Although it's hard when debt comes through, it can be easily managed. I read my letter and signed up online with a budget calculator to help me arrange my repayments. No real hassle of a demand for a minimum payment set by the company. The whole process was easy, I know I can contact them if I have a change in circumstances.

Hi I had a complicated problem I needed to sort out. The agent I spoke to really listened to me, he was very kind, helpful, confident, informative person. He made me feel relaxed and reassured. He made sure I understood everything correctly, and he also had a bit of a laugh with me too. 10 out of 10.

**UPDATE**: My wife has now lost her job due to the CCJ.
Lowell issued the claim to a previous address not lived at for 4 years, which meant it could not be defended so won by default!!
This is despite them knowing the present address!
Thanks Lowell for being so shady and underhand..

The unnecessary stress that this shady outfit has caused is disgusting.
They zeroed a debt after being challenged for proof then gained a CCJ after craftily sending the court claim to a previous address from 4 years ago despite all previous correspondence being sent to the present address.
FCA here I come!
