They had the wind turned up too high. I asked several lift operators and ski patrollers to turn it down a few notches but it stayed gusty. I saw a porcupine right next to a run, and you know what I didn't see? A SINGLE linear yard of porcupine fencing. They were just allowed to mingle with the skiers; what the heck? Other than that, this puppy is five stars as far as Shreddy Spaghetti is concerned.

What an amazing place with the views from the ridge! The facilities are great and the high-speed quad lift is amazing. I'm coming from the West Coast just for a couple days but I will be back when I can for sure!
There are so many runs to explore here I'll be happy to return soon.

We come to Loveland about once a year and we always have a great time! They have a great beginners area! I had out of town guests with me and it is an easy drive from Denver! They rented ski equipment from Loveland the morning of skiing and it was a pretty quick and easy process. We were in and out in about 30 minutes but compared to the over an hour wait at other resorts i have experienced it felt really fast! Always a good time at this ski area!

Great little, locally owned mountain. Reasonable price, and lift lines aren't too bad. Good variety of terrain for advanced and beginner skillset. As out-of-state visitors, rental equipment wasn't bad either.

Early season ski race teams overtake the place. After Nov 10th things get better. Lift lines are almost nonexistent mon-fri, parking lot fills up by 1030a weekend and some holidays. Lots locals and ski & ride school is top notch. Fairly updated except for a lonely double chair (#6) that takes you to amazing powder on those blustery days. Terrain park is top notch, except NO JUMPS (they were sued over known hazards of a terrain park). 13,000 foot summit and free SnowCat rides when snowcover allows.

I had so much fun today, I'm realizing at Loveland it's always a fun day! We ski/board all over CO, but we always have fun at Loveland. Where do you start? Everyone here is amazing. Today I had the pleasure of taking a lesson with Corky. What an amazing instructor. I've taken numerous boarding lessons and this was my 2nd ski lesson, what a difference a good instructor makes. Pushing a complete stranger to their limits while making sure they have a good time on a mountain has to be near impossibly and Corky did it with ease. Before I knew it I was enjoying what once made me freak! Everyone at the ski school is amazing. Always with a warm greeting and excited to see your progress. Highly recommend Loveland!!

As a Colorado native loveland has always been my go to when I want to snowboard. Lift lines are always reasonable, ticket prices are not too high and it's close to denver!
Although if you are beginner I would reccomend going elsewhere as only 13% of loveland is beginner runs, 41% are intermediate and 46% are expert runs.

My favorite ski area. There's no lodging so there aren't that many tourists. Closest place to Denver down I70. Prices are very reasonable. They even have microwaves in the cafeteria encouraging people to bring their own lunch. Very local and family friendly

just walked into the gear shop and one nice guy tells me to look and check everything out...then the second I touched a snowboard deck a different guy was all up in my face asking me what I need, being pushy, I told him straight up I was just looking and he literally wouldnt take his eyes off me till I put the board back

why is it that every time I go in to get my Membership Reward they pretend like I'm crazy and it's such a huge inconvenience for them to freakin hand me something...omg

I've skied most of the Rockies, and Loveland has some of the best terrain anywhere. Free uphill access before and after operating hours, free snow cat to take you to 13,000' and a lot of great double black terrain. Local feel, park close to the ski hill, bo shuttle needed.

I like Loveland. I'm not a big skiier, but Loveland has a lot of good points.

Pros:
-close to home (takes me about an hour from south Denver)
-not massive, so it doesn't take two hours to get down the mountain
-parking close to lifts
-cheap ($65 for an adult lift ticket)
-good mix of terrain
-don't have to worry about traffic through the tunnel

It's a really nice mountain for a day trip.

Being from the east, that was one of the most incredible ski experiences I've had in my 35 years of skiing! Even with the broken leg I suffered on what was to be one of my last runs of the day. Wonderful experience all around, especially the skilled ski patrol! Can't wait to return.

Not a bad place to ski for the money. The lifts are slow and the runs are fairly short, when comparing them to the many options within 30 minutes. With lift ticket prices at almost half the price of the "big resorts," it is to be expected.
My main complaint was the customer service. I had called ahead to see how far they were from Keystone and asked about using a coupon. When I arrived they said it was only valid Mon - Thurs. When I explained that I had just called and that was the only reason I made the drive, they said I would need to talk to Guest Services. Management was rude and condescending from the start. They wouldn't do anything to help us out.

It was the first and last time I will ever ride at Loveland.

This place is wonderful! The people are so extremely nice and helpful and make your experience worthwhile. Every single person, from the people who sign you in, to the folks that get you fitted for your shoes and then later the ones helping with skis, to the instructors who are actually teaching you out there on the ice. They were all extremely patient, and very kind and genuine.

I made it out on the ice and was able to get both skis on and do some simple moves but after a while, the altitude got the best of me and I had to stop right away. I couldn't properly breathe so it was time for me to call it a day. Everyone that helped was so nice, and genuinely cared. It was a shame I wasn't able to actually ski down or get on a chair lift, but the experience will stay with me forever! The supervisor was nice enough to refund me for a full day even after half a day had gone by. They could see I was really wanting to, but I could barely walk a few steps without huffing and puffing.

I would come back here in a heartbeat for lessons! Their prices were the most reasonable as compared to all the other places we looked into. They were also the closest ski resort outside of Denver. The drive up was very scenic and beautiful.

Love this place and would highly recommend this for first timers taking lessons, intermediates, and seasoned vets! :)

Wonderful place to ski! The runs aren't as long, but the lines aren't as long as the other resorts either! I didn't wait in line once the entire time and had excellent conditions and run. I definitely recommend if you hate the lines and the crowd, but still want a great place to ski.

if you get up at 5am on a sunday you might make it to loveland without being in more than 30 minutes of traffic. then give it two hours for the lifts to open, ski a few runs, and head back to try to miss the people coming back from summit county. the skiing is fun enough weekend trips are about worth it.

I've only been to Loveland and Ober Gatlinburg. I'm used to bruising my ass on fake hard icy snow. Out here I have more control. They weren't kidding about that powder. Other resorts may be nice, but Lovelands is wayyyyy cheaper and the snow is excellent. Skiing caters too much to rich yuppies. Aspen and Vail I'm looking at you. This is the closest ski park to Denver so I assume all the locals come here and Call places like Breck tourist traps. I was looking at prices and it's unbelievable how much just a one day lift ticket cost. I took a bus from downtown Denver up here. The whole thing was super convenient.
Bottom line - affordable, good location, good snow

My friends and I came from Texas for a private beginners ski class. Stacy was assigned to us and we couldn t have asked for a better instructor! He was so patient, funny and knowledgeable! Loveland is such an awesome place. The staff and guests couldn t be more welcoming. We already are making plans to come back :)

Loved this ski area! It was my first time skiing and the Loveland Valley was so perfect for beginners. I rented everything I needed onsite for a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My friends who had checked out a couple other places over the last few days said Loveland was the best. I can't wait to go back.

Fun place to ski, it's busy at the beginning on the lifts but towards mid day everyone is spread out on the mountain more. Definitely wide open ski areas, I had a hard time figuring out where the trails were. The coffee shop on top had terribe coffee and hot chocolate. It was so watered down you had barely any flavor. They need more seating at the lodge and more bathrooms! The line for the men's was crazy. I loved getting the soup and sandwich for lunch and the bread bowl with soup was also delicious.

You don't have to take the tunnel so it's close to Denver, and it's no frills (which I like) and has decent prices for passes and food relative to other mountains but most importantly it's open early and closes late in the season.

I might be the only local who has never really liked Loveland. But after fighting the traffic on Empire/I-70, and paying the HIGH Cost of Vail resorts... I have finally seen the light. this place is incredible. big mountain skiing, wide runs, and just a fun locals mountain. no frills but thats what skiing is all about.

Very fun ski hill and friendly employees. Food and beverages are affordable (compared to most ski resorts). Make sure to go to the rathskeller bar and order a bloody Mary, they are delicious!!!

All the slopes are nicely kept, the lodge has great food for a very reasonable price (I was really surprised!) The dream lift is my favorite because it's nice and fast and is really comfortable.

Loveland has continued to impress me since I learned to ski there at 4 years old. The ski area always has many areas that are catered to the level I am skiing at, and there's no lack of variety. The views from this place are stunning and I always stop to take it in when I'm there. We have always bought the four pack tickets, and it is a really solid deal.

Had an amazing time today. Not too crowded, which was awesome, the employees were all amazing despite it being Christmas day! Not to mention, but Loveland was getting some fresh powder today as well, which I know that they needed. Merry Christmas!

Nice slopes and great value for the money. This is a great place to bring your kids to learn how to ski (or you if a beginner.)

Loveland has two mountains (the valley and basin.) If you want to learn go to the bunny hill (valley.)

This is one of the closest ski resorts and well worth your time and money.

Great snow, great staff, and no lines anywhere. Lots of ungroomed snow to give you a good chance to try whatever you prefer. Live music on the patio.

At least late season, it is maybe tough for beginners when the Valley is closed. The exits from the lifts are pretty steep.

Horrible experience. Came out to ski and visit family for Thanksgiving from KC. Spent half the day stuck in traffic driving there Friday from Ft. Collins and couldn't make it there due to 70 being shut down. Went there the next day, made it up the lift twice and they shut the park down due to high winds. I asked to either get my tickets re-issued so I could come back next year or get a refund. Lady told me "Sorry we don't refund 4-Paks" I'm sorry that spending $160 isn't enough to deserve a good experience there. Will likely never go back, unless it's free.

Great place, special. Free cat ride to the Continental Divide and ski down from there was great. There is an advanced intermediate way back down staring by going back on Cat track up, easy. After more difficult but advanced Intermediate should be able to do. Need to sign an extra wavier to be able to get an orange access card good for the session. Was easy, fast and not busy or real wait to go up with cat. Rides started at 10:30am until 2pm. Rides are only run now Wednesday to Sunday. No Monday or Tuesday.
The National Park Ranger ski down and explenations was great. Had 6 Rangers going along. Mostly one, really good, gave lecture. Program developed over 2 years by 2 Rangers that were there. Uses lots of great additional teaching aids, maps, pictures, puppets chikedy bird, real educational pellets of animals that you get to touch including even a real Lynx fur. Super great program but the starting time needs improvement otherwise the program kills almost all the ski day.
Started at 1:30pm for 1.5 hours, ended 3:15 pm after 4 lecture segments with great demonstrations stops along ski down. I think would be much better to start at 3pm and make last lecture demonstration at 4pm at base after lifts stop. This way have 30+ minutes longer, or more, and leave almost all day for ski until 3pm when start at the top.
Program was offered only once in 2 weeks in April 2017 when I visited. We had big group of 20+ people that were very interested and ranged from young adults to older people about 50% mix. Great education, good if can do more and also make a shorter version.

Horendous steep roads to get to it, with way too much traffic. Green hills are more blue than green and there isn't even a visible medic centre in the village. The beginners area to one side is obtainable by bus ride and a 2hour wait to get ski hire there, if they don't run out first. The rest of my family enjoyed it, but I don't ever want to go back! Elevation not for those who are unaccustomed to the altitude either.
