Tends to be a bit windy but a great place for a day of skiing
It s all about the skiing at Loveland. They have old school vibe with awesome terrain.
Excellent terrain for all levels of skill for every reasonable price.
Didn't stay long because they don't accept epic pass.
Great mountain! As someone who loves big mountain double blacks, I was definitely satisfied here! Would recommend!
Excellent place to visit during winter for skiing in beautiful Colorado.
Took level 1 and level 4 lessons here from fantastic instructors. Could not be happier with my experience at Loveland Ski.
My new favorite ski spot! Wide variety of runs-there s truly plenty of options for all skill levels. Prices were good and rentals were in great shape. Friendly staff.
Parking management personnel are rude and they do not listen when you say you need to pick someone up from the main entrance.
Great mountain to ski at! The lift tickets are reasonable and when we went it wasn't super crowded. It's a beautiful mountains with some great slopes. The mountain is later out like a U or a horseshoe. There are two spots to ski the basin and the valley. The valley is for beginers and the valley is for level 2,3 and expert ski or snowboarders. I would watch our there are some sneaky double black traiks.
My favorite place to ride! The lift lines are short, the staff is awesome, and the drinks at the bar are good. I reccomend chair 9 for the ridge or chair 8 for some sweet tree runs.
Great place for beginners. Ski school was very good! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Bought the stay and ski package and it included ski passes, ski school, equipment rental, and even recommended the best hotel ever in nearby Georgetown, Hotel Chateau Chamonix!
Such an awesome gem of a ski area. Snow was great and lines non-existent. Love this place!
Inexpensive, natural terrain, and close enough to Denver to come up for half days when I work!
Convenient, friendly, fun. Great for casual skiing and affordable!
Awesome ski resort so close to Denver I was able to make it a day trip at the end of a business trip. I was told it was the best of the local resorts for snowboarding and I was not dissapointed.
My favorite ski area in Colorado! Great snow, short lines, and affordable prices!
I've heard quite a few people tell me that they used to enjoy skiing but can't afford it anymore - to which I tell them, "You need to check out Loveland Ski Area." Great skiing at great prices plus a very friendly and helpful staff.
You can hire everything there from really helpful people, with good lift prices and half day deals.
My only negative is that some of the runs can be a bit wide and not that steep/bumpy/interesting.
If you're new to boarding in the rockies, try this first. Super close to Denver, so you get out of the terrible traffic quickly, compared to other mountains (Keystone, Breck, Winter Park, etc.) Decent lift prices, but probably the best you'll find in the area (lift tickets where I'm from back east are much lower, but not as many long runs) Mountain is large and has many options in difficulty. If you need a small city at the base to show-off new gear that never sees the slopes, this isn't for you. If you want to ride the mountain, this is for you.
Lost of powder, beware there are some icey patch in the powder but overall a great place for all levels
Takes me about 45 minutes from my house in Aurora to get to the loveland parking lot. This mountain has one of the most local vibes to it and the food is unbelievably cheap compared to other resorts. The people who work there are super chill and friendly. There are bigger and better terrain parks in Colorado, but loveland is great on a powder day!
most affordable place to go skiing/boarding if you've already experienced all the other fancy places
Had an amazing time snowboarding for the first time it was a great place to learn
JUST PASSING THRU ON I-70 JUST B BEAUTIFUL DRIVE. HAD TO DO IT ONE ITEM OFF MY BUCKET LIST.
Paid all day lesson with my girlfriend. After lunch split her to go with him and others to lift while I continue to practice and John would find me. John left.
Later found first instructor asking my girlfriend to ride with him on ski lift. Unprofessional. I was never told what I needed to work on and passed to another group.
Not new skier friendly
Beat skiing I have had this year, and very affordable
Great place. Well maintained and lots of nice blue runs
Its the best! Check for yourself or leave it to us to enjoy.
I'm only reviewing the ski school experience. The sloops are fine. If you go for a lesson on an off day it's usually fine. During peaks times, they are completely unprepared to handle any kind of crowd. We showed up at 8.40 and waited an hour to get equipment for my son. The one kids instructor wasn't good but others were fine. Basically, for lessons, come during off-peak days and you'll be fine otherwise avoid this place because they have no ability to handle crowds.
Home town favorite. Definitely a local hill worth the ride.
Pretty freaking sweet. This is the first place I ve ever skied at and I love it. I ve heard from friends that the lines are shorter here than at the other big ski resorts. Also there is no actual resort at Loveland, just the actual ski area. Views at the top are freaking gorgeous as would be expected in the Rockies. It s also only a 50 minute ish drive from Denver. Go early to avoid traffic (or late I guess)
Beautiful vistas, steep to moderate slopes. Great value.
Paid for ski classes for my wife, my daughter and I, and snowboard lessons for my son. As part of a larger group. So needles to say together we spent quite of money. We were told to be on time, be there at 8:30am. Just to make sure the class would begin on time. Had to sign waivers and get fitted for boots and skis, and all that. I had to stop class because my ankle and lower back started to hurt really bad, which is on me. I was fine knowing I would lose my money. The instructor decided the stop the class to wait for the others that were late. As only 3 people were on time, myself, my wife and another person, he was still expecting 3 or 4 others. So he stopped class told the three of us to break for water, while he went to gather the people for the ski class. I went to change out of the ski boots, and my wife waited at a picnic table outside. When I got back and noticed her still waited, I asked why? She said she was still waiting. So she waited and waited and waited, we did see the instructor or the class. Finally we recognized the instructor and my wife goes to join the class, to be told that she could not, because now that everybody was in class, she was behind. Really? So my wife had to turn in her skis, boots and helmet. We had a lift pass that was useless. Since we never learned to ski, we could take the kids up the lift to ski down. Just poor decision on the instructor to stop the class and not make sure everyone was gathered properly to begin again.
Not crowded, good variety of runs, and very reasonably priced! Just FYI some of the ski lifts are above the valley and on a windy day it can make it feel 15-20 degrees cooler than on the ground.
I go to some awesome places in my life. However the Love has the most of my heart. Learned to snowboard and kinda ski there and i always cry a little bit remembering the best of memories and future to happen. Oh one more thing I met the true love of my life there thank you
Great local ski hill. Friendly vibe, great terrain. Best of all: not crowded!
Took my girls on Martin Luther king day. Great! Day!
Overpriced is an understatement. Beautiful though, for sure.
4 star only because they weren't completely open yet. I am an experienced snowboarder but did private lessons with a friend who had never even seen snow. Instructor was great and I learned alot too; will definitely be coming back!
This place rocks, one of the best places for snowboarders looking to get on a mountain without breaking the bank. The lift tickets are 65, but if you go to Subway or the Shell gas station you can get 15 off the price, that's 50.00 for the ticket if you go this route. The mountain is great and the back bowls are awesome. The food court has lots to chose from and the parking lot usually has a place to park for free, the staff here is extremely nice and outgoing.
Craig was our snow board instructor and was possibly the most friendly person I have ever met. He had a large group that he was teaching and as the lesson progressed, it was clear some people were getting better while others were not. I imagine that would be tough to deal with, but he was able to accommodate all in the class. The resort itself was plain but people Craig made the place so much better.
Top notch. Great quality skiing and so close to town. It is a pleasure driving to Loveland and avoiding the tunnel.
Great ski school experience for me and my son! We both learned well for our first lessons and had fun. And at an affordable price! We also really appreciate that they gave us a full refund for our younger son, who was enrolled but lasted about 20 minutes before we got called to pick him up. We weren't expecting a FULL refund and we're really thankful and appreciative that they were so nice about it. Definitely coming here again!
As a beginner, lift 7 was a great place to start learning without any lessons! The people who worked there were also very kind and willing to help!
Great ski area to head up to on a whim. The closest to Denver. I can t tell you how many days while working downtown I would look up to the mountains on a clear winter day and say, screw it, I m taking the afternoon off.
Don t tell my boss.
Skied in early November. A few runs open but no lines. Did selection is good.
Great local ski spot where you don't have to travel far and endure much I70 traffic
I had never skied before coming to Loveland. I've been snowboarding once at a different resort during icy conditions and it was terrible. As a first time skier, I can definitely recommend Loveland. The simplest slope there involves taking lift 2 and going towards either "Home Run" or "Tango Road". both of these slopes are very doable even as a first timer. I was able to pizza my way down while working on my control and balance. I cannot stress how important this is. Loveland might not be the easiest out there, but these two slopes offer you plenty of opportunities to practice your control. On day 2 I went to Copper Mountain and did not have any trouble doing every green there, at this point I was able to carve instead of doing the pizza due to my control practice from Loveland.
I used to love this ski resort but in the past few years it's just so crowded just like everywhere
LOCK UP YOUR STUFF...returned from skiing yesterday and my daughters UGG boots were missing from boot rental area. Originally thought they got moved but never found them. Asked several staff members for help and they brushed it aside. The lady in the ski shop where lost and found is located was not very nice. A great day of skiing turned into a bad day at the end with a very sad girl.
They got a new high speed four chair. off-the-pass but on-the-path. Never too busy and only an hour from Denver.
This is my go to spot nowadays! I had the great half day. The black diamonds are challenging!
Fantastic local ski area. I've taken my son several times to the Lift 7 beginner slope. Best deal in the front range.
Great place I went on Monday and it still had people at it but if u don't mind a big crowd it's got great runs
Great slope and much less expensive than the others around here
I always like going here because its never packed even on the busy days. Lift lines are never long and the runs are amazing will definitely come back thousands of times
This was my first time at Loveland and I love love loved it!. I'm a proficent snowboarder, and found it to be good from snow bunny to mountain cat. There is so many trails, soft powder, fast lifts and good vibes all around. Not one person minded two dogs like us on the mountain as we did our runs, and i may have heard and awoo or tawooo .
Great ski resort. Good bunch of beginner, intermediate and more advanced slopes. Was there on a busy day and the staff did a great job managing the crowds, from hustling to help equipment rental , keeping the lifts moving, and cafeteria moving the crowds through. Good experience. Not far from Denver, about an hour.
I had a blast on opening day, thanks Loveland for making it such a fun day!!
This mountain is amazing, it has so many different lifts you wont be bored at all!!! All different kinds of terrains, and some of the best groomed tree runs ive ever done. I loved working my way over the mountain to lift 8. It was pleasant to discover that every lift had at least one blue run with very diverse runs. The mountain is huge and covers about 3 different peaks. Awsome staff and very affordable. Loveland for life!!!!
Epic ski and snowboard place! First time on the slopes, first time on a snowboard, by day three I was shredding blues xD sorta lol. Looking forward to next year!
All the travelers go right by it. Hardly ever crowded. Plus parking is great.
Absolutely love Loveland! One of my favorite resorts of all the ones I have visited anywhere. The bowls here are so much fun.
More runs than you think and hardly any wait for the flits, great place for all levels.
