This place is very touristy with many eating places all over the place, it feels a bit over the top. For the most part, it is like a normal zoo with nothing that blows your mind away. However, if you do go, make sure you go to the shows which really justify the high cost (38 per person). We saw a couple: the dolphins one and the killer whales one. Both were spectacular.
I have been to many zoos around the world, and this is the best. It may not have the most collections of animals, but it certainly has the best animals. The animals, plants and zoo areas are well kept

The best Zoo I've ever seen in my life. With animals, fish and birds etc. You just have to come if you're staying in Tenerife. It really is fantastic, I was blown away with the shows we saw. They really care for the animals and are ambassadors for conservation. It's worth every penny/cent. Things are expensive inside so plan your budget. Spotlessly clean everywhere. 10 out of 10.
So much to see but wouldn't need more than a day to see and do it all. Had an amazing time here. The shows were really good and the park was very caring for both their animals and environment
Once again another great visit to Loro Parque Got on the wee train from Puerto de la Cruz, no hassle getting in to loro parque.

personally to me this place above awesome ,if you are planing a trip to santa cruz de tenerife ,you must surely take a visit to loro park which is also know as animal embassy surly it doant seem like a zoo at some point bcz the park is maintain very nicely also there are lot of show to keep you entertaint while in the park

Lot to see with the animals & fish etc. Good points related to animal care and nature care as well. A bit crowded yet easy to walk around and have lunch and snacks.
Amazing experience, absolutly worth the price. The shows were great and super fun. We had a great time there.
This park is well worth the visit. Entry fee is a bit stiff, but the amount of animals and what you experience makes up for that. Great selection of animals and wildlife. Can easily spend 4-5 hours walking around here looking at everything. Didn't see any of the shows this time but I've seen them many years ago and they were "okay". The park was packed with people this time though and it felt a bit cramped. Overall a good experience.

Live shows were excellent and unlike a lot of theme / zoo parks can all be done, along with the rest of the park, in one day. Loved the whole experience, though don't be fooled by the guy at the roundabout telling you there are no spaces in the official park, there are always plenty and he will try charge you more than the official car park!
Amazing place. We made magical memories and dreams come true. If you are with a small child queue early for the dolphin show and ask if your child can be chosen for the boat ride. They give preference to the smallest children. Really will make your day if your child is lucky enough to be chosen. Thanks to dolphin trainer William and the other trainers. Beautiful place, worth a visit if in the area. If visiting here with children then a full day in the park is advised so as to not miss anything. Sloths were amazing, sea lion show was excellent and the penguin ice palace was exceptional.

An amazing facility that not only gives you the opportunity to see animals that you normally wouldn't, but is also working to promote the life and health of all its animals.
Yes, the animals are trained to perform but they have such an effective reward system that they have even come up with a system of communicating with a deaf killer whale. To me this shows love, not cruelty.
I really wanted to give 5 stars, because it is extremely beautiful place and seems good for animals. However, it supposed to be ready for families. During orca show I could not stay in the "parking for baby carriage" because a baby was sleeping inside. I had to stay outside and miss the show. They should organise it better for those kind of situations.
For the price and the shows on offer I would recommend this to everyone that goes to Tenerife you will not be disappointed
Nice place. Just not up to my expectation as they advertise themselves to be number 1 in Europe. I think their Trip Advisor rating is forged. Ok for kids but there are much better things to do in Tenerife.
This a great place to take the children, the variety of animal and their sustainability approach really got me, I thought it was going to be just another theme park but they are really something great. The shows were amazing and the staff from reception in and out were all friendly and great attitude. The place was overcrowded but I guess nothing is ever perfect . My son loved it !
The sense of pride and conservation here is immense! The animals are well catered for, the design of habitats and care are impeccable! A real credit to the island!

Literally the best zoo / animal park I ve ever visited and I have been to loads around the world! It s expensive to get in (roughly 70 for 2 adults) however if you want to visit Siam Park which is the water park in Tenerife then you can get discounted tickets that allows you to visit both parks. It s definitely an all day out and I would advise getting there early as the car park fills up very fast. Parking at the zoo cost 4. There is street parking or a few car parking spaces nearby which is free to park. I recommend visiting all the live shows as they are fantastic. The whales and the dolphins was just incredible! Absolutely a must do if visiting Tenerife! Not to be missed!
Cages for some larger animals far too small. Shows and conditions seemed cruel to me.

If you would like to see a lot of different animals and plants, this is the place to go. It is really well maintained, clean and upgraded all the time. Take time as it pretty huge. Park also have kinder playground inside so fully recommended also for small kids

An adult couple spent 6 hours in Loro not being bored for a second. We saw 3 water shows: sea lions, dolphins, orca whales. Great! But what stole our hearts was the close encounter with parrots and the greenery of the place. That was amazing!

Good place for kids but I personally think the orcas should be set free as there is 7 and pool doesn't seem big enough for them. All animals look to be in good health

It's really amazing experience to see orcas dancing infront of you. Such a nice collection of orcas. We went especially only to see Sea lions, dolphins and orcas. I would definitely say we were totally amazed!!! It was very funny, enjoyable and memorable experience. Definitely would recommend.

Great time to be had here. Orca show was fab. Didn't get to see dolphins ran out of time. Loro show was for under fives, terrible. All in all a great day out if you plan the shows better
1 minus - I really don't agree with the sticker they place on your car. That's advertising and I don't agree with it - especially when you have a rent car but even with mine I wouldn't be very happy. The park is nice even though there are massive queues everywhere. I think it's a perfect place for kids - they would love it. Overall it's a good place but, but I wouldn't say the best.
Arrived at park watched dolphins killer whales and sea lion shows. All amazing as advised watch them first then could go round rest of zoo in your own time not missing out on anything
Loved looking at lions and white tigers the aquarium was fantastic with sharks swimming over your head and the penguin encloser was cool with machines blowning snow and penguins hugging together mimicking there environment.But the best bar far was watching the silver back gorillas. They were awsome. A definite must see.
Excellent day out , do plan on a whole day here to get the best I'd recommend the discovery tour in addition to the ticket, well worth the 11 extra. This is a must do out of all the trips you can do in Tenerife for both kids and adults the park is amazing
Great experience here, the killer whale show is a must see!! The dolphins and sea lion shows are also cute but the whales are spectacular! The rainforest is a wonderful maze to explore! The lions and gorilla s are usually always hiding or asleep but the white tiger likes to come out and roam! The penguin conveyor belt is so cute! Would recommend for family day out!
The only downside is that the bus comes and drops you off I m the morning and collects you at closing time and you end up sitting around for a bit as there isn t enough to see or do for the whole day.
The most beautiful park where all animals look well-groomed. The shows with dolphins, orcs and see lions are incredible and very exciting. I hope to come back very soon to visit it again.

Great day out. Lots to see and do would recommend getting there early though as this place gets packed pretty quick. We didn't see the dolphin show as I'm not a fan of these mammals being held in captivity and once you've seen them in the wild there's no going back. However we did see the wales they were amazing and had been rescued.

Superb zoo. An absolute must when visiting Tenerife. The Orca, Dolphin and Sea Lion shows are a real treat, on a different level from everything I've seen in zoo's across Europe. A huge and colourful collection of parrots and tropical birds. Not all the big mammals are present, but the atmosphere is great and the surroundings stunningly beautiful.
Beautiful zoo, lots of animals. Really liked how they try to represent their natural habitat and space. Good shows. I recommend to come quite early, so it's not to crowded and it's easy to find a free parking spot.

A "must see" attraction in Tenerife. I went 2 years in a row and the more I go the more I feel fascinated about what you can find there. Reserve yourself a full day to spend there.
Spent 5 hrs here lovely park saw nearly all of animals disappointed we couldn't see Red Panda. Dolphins and trainers were gorgeous had nice lunch.

Always an amazing time in Loro Parque. Worth every minute you can spend inside and watch the shows or just walk around and watch the animals and nature. The dolphins are fantastic and sure the main attraction is the parrots are stealing every animal the show. All over the park is super clean and well look after for animal welfare. You will never feel like the animals would feel uncomfortable in anything they are doing.

I feel a bit conflicted on this one. The park was extremely crowded and there was a constant pedestrian traffic jam on the narrow pathways between the different animals. The zoo is small compared to many others I've been to in Europe or North America, but they still had very large selection of animal species. Giving them 5* mostly because it felt like they really care about all animals in the park and preservation of species in general. Also as it turns out a small portion of our ticket (overpriced itself) goes directly to animal preservation foundations, so that's a big plus. Also the various shows they had were amazing - just the right length and quite entertaining. They all felt nice to the animals as well.
The water park is a great destination for families and couples a like. There are a number of amusing shows which range from watching the seals play tricks to being mesmerised by the whales jumping high enough that it soaks the crowd. There are very limited number of restaurants, so if your looking for food you may be disappointed. However the whole experience is enough to leave you coming back for another trip. Overall I would highly recommend if your in Tenerife then this is definitely worth a visit. Lovely staff and very helpful when needed!
Best zoo experience. I don't wonder why they been awarded for #1 zoo in the world on TripAdvisor. It's a must to see in Tenerife, together with Siam Park. You have to see the Wales, dolphin and see lions shows! It's amazing. It's unbelievable. Also the second visit is half price.
Nice zoo, bit in doubt about animal welbeing. Small cages for Birds. Shows are spectaculair. Bring your own picknick/lunch there are picknick areas.

Horrific what is done to those poor whales! Momma desperately trying to reunite with her baby that was ripped from her! Release the whales! The rest of the world is starting to wake up to these atrocities.
Amazing day out!! The Discovery Tour is worth the extra money as you go behind the scenes. Tour Guide Maartje was so knowledgeable!! A full day is needed to see everything.
Vegetation and the environment are maintained very well. The entire park's tour route is very user-friendly, with a special eye catching. This park is highly recommended. And you can buy the tickets together with Siam Park which will be much cheaper.
Had an amazing day at Loro Parque, this is our 2nd visit in 6 yrs , the park has got to be the best kept park ever ,we did the tour its well worth doing for 11 our guide was Nico he was brilliant so full of knowledge of the park ,got to see behind the scenes , food is great on the park ,so much choice and not bad prices ,lots of souvenier shops,also brilliant for disabled, and pushchairs few steep slopes but not too bad ,all in all a fantastic day out

brilliant. The dolphin, sea lion and orca shows were out of this world! Some environments I thought were too small for the animals but they seemed happy. The penguin area was magnificent!Alot of walking around and not much variation in information about the animals.
Food was priced reasonable although we did not eat here. Spent 3.5 hours here. Lots of parking and only 4 although there is a free train which picks up every 20 minutes. Busy park but didn't wait too long to see animals.
Before Loro Parque I have never seen a white tiger, a gorilla, an orca, a Kea, an alligator and many more animals.
The amazing thing is, that you actually see these animals, even if they are hiding somewhere. The layout of the zoo is just great.
What I don't like are the bird cages. I never understood why they keep the birds in those tiny dark cages. It's just wrong.
What a disgrace, keeping wild orcas and dolphins in captivity. These animals do not have room to swim freely.
Good place to visit while in Tenerife. We were able to see everything in 5 hours, but it's easy to spend the entire day there. The Orca show was the biggest highlight.
