This overall is a great zoo. Very clean and well presented, and the penguin exhibit was probably the best of it's kind I've ever seen. There is a good choice of animals to see. We just managed to see pretty much everything before we had to leave to get the return coach but we had a fantastic day out.

One of the smarter promotions I've seen anywhere is Loro Park selling their souvenir yellow hats for 1 Euro. This generates all kinds of free advertising for the park as tourists head back home wearing the hats. In fact, I have given several away as gifts since returning and it cost me very little! Anyways, almost immediately after entering there is signage promoting you to return for half-price within the next 15 days. You may seriously want to consider taking advantage as during the high travel season it becomes difficult to get in to see the shows (whale, dolphin, sea lion and bird) due to many, many others wanting to be at the same place at the same time. So, here's my high season recommendation: the park opens at 9:00am everyday. Get there in time to see the 9:35 Sea Lion show. This show runs with about half the audience seats filled. Also, the prima donna Sea Lions don't work again until the early afternoon and by then the long lines of parents and impatient kids will have formed and you want no part of that misery. After the Sea Lion show wraps, head for the Loro Show (the bird show). You will be one of the first in line and will get a good seat. Thereafter, skip the Dolphin Show for it will most assuredly be full as by this time all of the tour buses will have arrived at the park for the day. Instead, head for the Orca Show. You'll be one of the first in line, but you won't have to wait more than 10 minutes for them to open the venue and you can pick your seat. I chose the 3rd row above the walkway, near the center and the water the Orca flung with it's tail miraculously hit on my knees and below, but where I held my camera at remained dry! Anyways, I would then kill some time until the next dolphin show, maybe by either visiting Planet Penguin or the Aquarium. Using this plan, you should be able to see all four shows by 1:30, and spend the minimum amount of time standing in lines. A couple of additional notes: there is a large bird tent near the front, where many species have a large space to fly about. At the top of the path there is a catwalk, or free-swinging bridge for people to cross. One smart bird landed on the rail and allowed passersby to pet it's head and neck and posed for pictures! People were enthralled with the friendliness of the bird. Last, the lions. These guys sleep through the day. At 4:30, they start to awaken. By 5:00, they begin chasing each other around and taking an interest in park visitors on the other side of the glass. A lioness and a little boy had quite a game of hide-and-seek going on at the glass. And for a time all three lions took an interest in the here-and-there of the boy. If I had to guess, the lions stir in the late afternoon because the sun is no longer overhead and feeding time occurs after the park closes at 6:00. So, if you're a lion fan, come late.

Fantastic place to visit. I would definitely recommend discovery tour as an extra. You pay a bit more but you get a guided tour in your language that will walk you through the park and take you behind the scenes. Really enjoyed the visit.

Great park. It looks like animals are in good care. Lots of birds, orcas and seals shows (although it's never enough room for marine mammals in any zoo or aquarium :( ). I'd recommend discovery tour with a guide who will tell you about history of the zoo and will give you interesting i formation about researches, treating animals, will lead you behinde the scene of aquariums and gorilla's home etc.
Minuses: food corts are not organized very well. We were waiting for 20 min in a line to know that it will take another 20 minutes to get pizza :-/ Also, its expected that you will tip for visiting a washroom (although you payed entrance fee and will leave more money for souvenirs, food, etc).

Really worth a visit. We visited Loro Park as a shore excursion from our cruise around the Canaries. It is a zoo with a difference and its clear that the animals welfare is top of their agenda. It's quite difficult navigating around as the have a whole host of attractions. Laid out over a large area. The map was not easy to use and we ended up using it to look where we wanted to go next and then followed the signs which are located at every junction. Once we worked that out it was much easier to get to where you wanted to. We saw the dolphin show which was excellent and the dolphins clearly enjoyed it. Top tip would be to allow maybe a couple of days to visit as there is so much to see and do. It's been a while since I visited a Zoo and I highly recommend Loro Park. It is also very disabled and push chair friendly as my wife is a wheelchair user and there was only one attraction she couldn't visit (Katanda Tree Tops) because it involved climbing a lot of stairs.

Disgusting that you exploit these ocars JUST for money. Wake up and understand you are doing a terrible thing. Veganism is said to be the biggest evolutionary change in history, so it wont be long until people stop supporting this cruel trade! Good luck with your horrendous business. Karma will serve you well.

Absolutely excellent.... All animals are impeccably clean and happy. The Loro show is good and very educational. The gorillas are funny to watch as they can't sit still.. the dolphin show is very impressive and for the whale show don't front at the front 3 rows if u want to stay dry as they spray water everywhere. The sea lion show is very funny and a good way to end your time there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for family's and animal lovers ...

Excellent activity with kids. Shows are all great and the highlight. Park itself is beautiful with awesome vegetation, nicely done walkways. Gives the feeling of being far away from a city. Great for kids of all ages. Staff very friendly and helpful. Professionally organized. Exceeded my already high expectations. Definitely a must go in Tenerife.

The park has changed slightly since our last visit two years ago to allow a few more enclosures, they've enlarged the parrot enclosure so you can watch macaws and cockatoos flying around, also new the lion enclosure, all the silverbacks where very playfull. Plus a new birth, the first Orca to give birth in captivity. You name an animal species and chances are its here, in the best surroundings for them and you. Also very disabled friendly. Loro park is an absolute must for everyone. We've been 7 times over the years and never been disappointed.

Excellent animal park and zoo. Always clean, always well kept and great exhibits. They genuinely try to focus on trying to educate and open people's minds to our flora and fauna. Kids love it and a full day out.

This place is disgusting! Stop using Orcas as money slaves wild animals are supposed to be free, not kept in a prison for profit. Whoever ignores the cruelty that goes on behind closed doors and still visits the park is equally disgusting.

Amazing place! My children adored it here. Lots of different animals to see and the best penguin enclosure I have ever seen (we've seen a lot as my youngest is penguin mad). The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Plenty of places to eat and drink and a children's play area. Dolphin, sea lion and Orca shows were all great. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Easily spend a wonderful day with kids here. Rich zoo experience in short walking distances. Schedule your route accordingly with time table of 4 great shows. Plenty of other great spots along the way. Zoo offers great discount for 2nd visit.

This park is awesome, it's a zoo and sea life combine together. We normally pay separate tickets to visit the zoo and sea life in different days, but this is all in one and you get to see the sea lion show, dolffin show and amazing killer Wales show is must see.
Highly recommend Siam park too.

I wish I could put zero stars! Do not pay money to this place. Do your research people. The animals are abused and more specifically, Morgan the orca whale!!! Morgan the orca was taken from her home and put into a fish tank that is way too small for any mammal. Stand with me and do not support any sea world! Free all mammals and orcas and do not allow them to be abused just for someone's entertainment.

Park that really worth visit. Many many species of parrots, nice environment and very good for curious people from child to an elder. Super nice aquarium, also you can see live scientific research with parrots, incubated birds, lab for jellyfish. Take a day ticket, come earlier and enjoy without rush.

Nice zoo, but it is not that large and seems a bit overrated and overpriced. It is definitely not "the best in the world" as they say in the internet. They have entertaining dolphin, whale, sea lions and lories shows. If you like birds and sea animals it's worth a visit.

Loro Parque is phenomenal. Awesome shows and well looked after animals. You can really tell this place cares about what it does and about the environment in general. Staff were fantastic also! Highly recommend for a day out.

One of the most popular zoo in Tenerife even in Europe. You can watch large number of penguins from a moving walkway surrounding a huge iceberg where snow falling from the ceiling. Must check orca show and dolphin show. You can also see various kinds of parrot everywhere in the zoo. All day excursion from south part of Tenerife. Accessible by car or bus from many resort hotels.

Definitely worth visiting. Dolphin and sea lion shows are good. Orca Ocean is a very special show that is worth a visit as well. Meerkats, capybaras, penguins, lions, tigers, gorillas, ant-eaters, sloths, hippopotamus, turtles, numerous fish species, jellyfish, and of course lots of parrots.

It's a zoo with a couple of animal shows. That said, the exhibits are big enough to suit each animal's needs and it's obvious that a lot of money and effort was put to animal housing as there are a lot of details according to their native habitats. They also seem to be involved in ocean protection quite a bit, which is convenient, since their show dolphins are rescues.
The only thing I didn't like was the restaurants which seemed understaffed, we had to leave one after waiting 40 minutes for a dessert and not getting any attention.

Loro Park is dubbed as one of the world's best animal parks and Aquarium and for good reason. The park if fairly extensive and houses a wide range of Parrots and other animals including some ocean species (Dolphins, seals, sharks, orcas). Whilst the group of Orcas in captivity are still controversial, all enclosures appear to be very well maintained along with passionate staff to support. The entire park is very organised, clean and topnotch. I would recommend a visit to Loro park for all those traveling to Tenerife. Dot offers great value even at the ticket prices. Make sure you plan to be thier the entire day to be able to see everything including the shows.

Good shows but the staff were incredibly rude. On our way out, we took the photo they took of us at the entrance to pay for it when a female member of staff aggressively accused us of taking a photo of the picture. She shouted at us to "delete" multiple times despite me mentioning we were about to buy the photo. She then snatched the photo from my hand and then stood by the till, forcefully making sure we had payed. This left an extremely sour taste in my mouth after a nice day. I also recommend bringing your own food as it was very overpriced and not the best quality.

All toghther one of the best Animal-fun Park I have visted, and for the Kids even on small ages (from 1,5 Year at least) allways thery intersting and fun. The zoo/funpark combination is well thinked and the only small 2 minuses are the long waiting chains in some days and the poor food quality, but you can chose some better ours and bring your own food. Anyway plecase DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS! If you did Not boght the food on place.
Have fun!

The most well cared zoo we've been... Most animals (except tigers) really look happy there.
Go there early and plan orcas, dolphins and sea lions shows first so you don't miss it.
We cried so much during these shows... thank you for these precious moments Loro.

The park is clean and well kept. However I was very disappointed to see the orca and her calf separated. The mother was all the time looking at the calf and she looks unhappy. The pools are small for the large size of the orcas. I believe that it would be more sensible to setup a sea sanctuary if they truly have the well being of their animals at heart

The dolphin show

The dolphin show
orca whale show
Parrot show are brilliant
We missed the sea lion show but the whole place is amazing
Would definitely go back

Mostly I like only pigs, cows, chikens... (eatable animals) when are on the plate, but this park change my mind and was totally overwhelmed by beauty and diversity of different spices. Park is very clean and animals seemed happy. The shows are "must see", only this "Naturavision" was kind of borring to me. Show Orca Ocean is amazing, I just recommend you, if you don't want to be all wet, that to not sit in the first few rows or on the seats where is sign: Splash zone, because is more like wet zone.

Great zoo park that is full of fun and amazing animal shows. Excellent, high quality animal pens with some genuinely happy animals playing and dosing. Penguin Island is the best and I almost missed the jelly fish centre thinking it would be boring (!!), but not at all... really amazing.

Another of "must visit" places on Tenerife after Siam Park. Great day out for all family if you like seeing animals not in their natural habitat.
There are loads of birds including penguins, big aquarium with massive sharks, barracudas and many other species what I can't even name. Every couple of hours there is a show with sea lions, seals and orcas. I'm not a fan of this sort of entertainment but it was funny and kids love it. Easy access by bus or a car.
Recommended!!!

Called here for a day out

Called here for a day out
There are shows throughout the day comprising of whales, dolphins, sealions & parrots.
Word of warning stay out of the splash zone when watching the whales, it's not a splash it's more of a tidal wave lol so keep your phone's covered.
The shows are very busy and they really do pack as many people in as possible so arrive early to each show.
The dolphins were quite good but not as good as some places I've visited I think that the stars of the day had to go to the sea lions.
There's a very large walk through aviary and all the other typical zoo animals to see.
There are plenty of food drink kiosks around the park that's not too expensive.
All in all quite a good day out.

Lovely park but way too overrated. Expensive ticket for what it offers, not the best zoo in Europe/world as advertised either. It's a lovely park with lots of birds but few animals as such, small park (it took us 4 hours to visit including the shows). They charge 4 euros to park if you decide to use a car, it is very crowded so make sure you find a seat for the shows at least 15 minutes before they start or you will not get in. Dolphin show is worth it, whale show was ok. And they wait for tips at pretty much all the toilets which I am sorry but considering how much the entrance ticket is (36 euros) I find the parking charge and tips a bit too much. Chester zoo in the UK is by far better and worth it.

Very good place to visit. The show of the sea lions was our favourite but the Loro show was most liked by the younger kids. One day well spent. Although we were there a bit late (11:15) we saw almost everything.

Dont understand why it is so famous. First bad impression is the incredibly huge queue to the entrance. Nothing special inside except orcas, which was fun mostly because of splasing. Parrots just watch. Was to lots of places where you could interact with them , they sat on you, tried to steal smth from you, played. So from LORO park expected smth more. The kid wasnt impressed eigher.
