Not that I've been to many musical instrument stores in Toronto but Long & McQuade has a very well earned reputation.

I bought an acoustic guitar there back in 2013 and the staff member who helped us was extremely knowledgeable and patient. I loved the experience.

This location is huge. A ton of inventory in stock including instruments, audio equipment and parts.

After saving up for many months, I went in to buy my first high-end guitar. Rebekah was super patient and could tell I wasn't just there to browse, made some great recommendations, and talked me through a major purchase. She was genuinely excited for me, and the service she provided was excellent.

Also, the staff at the Bloor location is taking COVID-19 precautions very seriously and it made the process very comfortable and welcoming despite the restrictions. Thanks to Rebekah and the whole team. I just bought my first Martin! Woo!

Very positive experience getting a starter acoustic guitar for my wife, friendly sales guy saw us debating over price and offered us a slightly cheaper model that had been used as a rental and we were sold. Will return

Great staff, great selection if you play any style of music, except heavy metal.

Walked in didn't know a thing but by the time I left I was a book of knowledge. These people are very friendly and helpful they made it a very easy time for me to learn and understand what to look for when buy a guitar.

Brilliant place for music lovers. They have different sections for guitars and keyboards.. Huge place and great staff!

The absolute bare minimum of service. Nobody cares, nobody tries to help.

Awesome place to pick up music instruments. I had an amplifier which needed some connectors for a wireless microphone. A gentlemen there was very knowledgeable. He picked up the right connectors and they were well priced.

Seemed like a pretty legit place, lots of variety of musical hardware. From the perspective of a non-musician.

Ryan (downstairs in the Drums and Percussion section) has no clue how much he helped me out tonight. What a good human being. In my 15+ years of customer service experience I've never met anyone who has helped me out that way he did. His little act of kindness helped me out way more than he probably realized, and because of him this will be my official Long & McQuade store...and I don't care how far I have to travel to get there! Ryan, thank you. (Faith in humanity officially restored again)

Great place. Staff is very knowledgable. I had my trumpet fixed here they did an amazing job. Also bought my first guitar here.

This has to be the best location in terms of service. The staff are knowledgeable and extremely courteous and helpful, unlike the northyork branch.
When we got to the store it was very close to closing time however Shawn Dakin did an amazing job in helping my daughter pick her first guitar.

Guitar rental was quick & painless, and I was very impressed with their trade-in procedure (traded in a pedal and used those funds towards studio monitors, which they ordered in for me). Everything was done in a timely manner and the communication was great. Will absolutely be back.

We were astounded by how polite and friendly our staff was (Dwight). He explained how to handle a violin properly for the sake of my sister(who is new to it), provided the renting infos clearly, and was extremely patient with us. Thank you Dwight for letting us have a great experience with Long & McQuade!

We rented a sound system for a wedding and they did.bot tell us how to set it up (granted we forgot to ask) so that almost spelled disaster, but we were able to find help over the phone

Most knowledgeable team I've experienced in retail music instrument sales & rentals. Been going since a child and I haven't seen better.

I have been shopping at Long & McQuade for many many years and I am always happy and satisfied with their products their service and their staff and if there's a problem there you can speak with someone who will solve the problem that you have an overall it's a very good experience I buy their audio equipment and accessories but overall it's a great experience.

The customer service over the phone was really wonderful, the employee who answered was knowledgeable and helpful. The curbside pickup was pretty quick, even though I had to modify my order to add another item. Over all I'd recommend Long and McQuade for their pretty awesome customer service and staff.

During normal operation the staff there are always helpful and willing to discuss anything about music. They're also willing to hand you off to someone else if they aren't knowledgeable on the subject so that you can get what you want and need.

Stuff are helpful and friendly. Only thing is they sold me a $800 guitar which they said it was on sale, but on my way home I found it's $700 on their online store.

Every department is staffed with honest, personable staff. I've had great experiences from everyone from rentals to financing. Their instrument rentals are so affordable, you might as well learn how to play the cello and drums and clarinet and...

Always been open to renting equipment however normally it is tested infrount of me to ensure all equipment works. Upon taking my rentals from this store and using them I realized that most of the items didn't work, and they were not tested in front of me.. service was friendly and laid back however the purpose of my visit was to rent working equipment .. which I did not get.

Everything you need in a music store. Service is good, but I found that while some of the employees were knowledgable others were not.

Truly one of the best shops in my entire life. The most amazing part is the staff. It's clearly busy whenever I'm there but the kindness and professionalism are unreal. Five stars are not enough for their service.

Store is overall good. Sales staff are helpful and easy to deal with. Guitar repair department is a bit hard to communicate with.Did not like the attitude,a little bit awkward.Maybe the one I was talking to just doesn't know about customer service.

When I brought my guitar to them,the person at the electric guitar repairs asked me whether I paid for the strings. I mean:"No,I just took them for free. I never pay for anything in the store just so you know". It was a joke.

This was ridiculous. He asked me a ton of questions,I felt like signing up for a job rather than leaving my guitar for repairs. Do not recommend,repair your stuff somewhere else! Not at this location!

My best experience in a musical instrument store. Graeme McCann (sales team) helped me all the time and I bought my Seagull Entourage. He is a very nice guy. Congratulation Long McQuade Team good job!!!!

Easy rentals with full stock of lots of items. Double check your rental though because they have missed cables on multiple occasions for me.

Sublime and anti-saccharine, this store is a fantastic place for the musically inclined. Extremely varied selection of instruments, amps, & effect electronics. A rental service is also offered for any discerning value seekers. Overall 11/10 would recommend

Always a solid choice for any musical purchase. The staff are always friendly and knowledgable and willing to help unlike other music stores where the staff are often disillusioned musicians disguised as retail associates that if you are not a professional musician do not have the time or interest to help. I have been a customer since the early 80s and the rental department in every location has been great and the price is fair.

Awesome staff members. Came for a sale event (jack? Something) quite a while ago. Ended up getting a zildjian low volume crash and a cheap but sturdy cymbal stand for less than 100 bucks (which retail for 160+ before tax)! What a deal, definitely visiting again soon!

Great selection of rental gear, prices are reasonable. Usually pretty busy, friendly staff, but sometimes hard to have a longer conversation because they have to run off and do something else.
